Luke and I were talking about this the other day.
He says Pellegrino shouldn't be the fave. But I think he should.
Thoughts?
BTW, why the fuck is Pellegrino fighting in Bellator? Didn't he "retire?" And if he was going to come back, why go to Bellator? Did he just want out of his UFC contract for some reason? Does he have Florianitis and want to go where he is most likely to win a belt?

I think Freire is going to beat him. Tough matchup IMO.

Hm, well, I have a tendency to attripute some of Patricio's ability onto Patricky, but I think Patricky has real real good takedown defense.

I bet on Freire as soon as the line came out, I figured it would get worse (I was wrong).
I guess we'll see what happens. Maybe Freire will win. Or maybe Pellegrino will do a little "exposing" of Bellator's LWs and show that there's a pretty big divide between Bellator's guys and the UFC's guys.

Given what Chandler did to Alvarez... MMAth tells me that Freire wil be able to stuff Pelligrino. Even if he gets it down, Freire is probably just as good on the ground. I am going to bet Freire here.

yeah, but all rounds were close... wasn't a blow out or anything. And IIRC Chandler was having trouble getting him down. He beat Friere standing mostly, but after seeing him with Alvarez, he is a pretty good striker.

Yeah but Kurt is a pretty solid wrestler himself. I don't know. I am kinda with you on this one I guess. Before losing to Sotiropolous and Tibau, Kurt was doing pretty good. Those two fights were close as well.

Vila is overhyped because of his wrestling pedigree and his KO win over Warren. But Galvao just beat Vila (IMO). Dantas is a young guy, very athletic and good on the ground and standing. He had a spectacular knee KO over Reis and then went to a SD with Ed West. But West is pretty good IMO and he tends to stay in fights and keep them close. Vila is 41. Vila may win, but I think it is more like 55/45 or even 50/50.

I am watching Vila's last fight now with Galvao and then I'll watch Dantas' next two fights. The oddsmaker Joey Oddessa had this to say about his line: galvao matched up better vs villa than dantes..galvao is like glen johnson of bellator..fights to level of comp but loses
I like Prindle at that price also.

uh...I was expeting dantas to be at about -200. wow. Dantas is the far superior striker and pretty sure his tdd is decent as well. Seeing that he stuffed reis and west a couple times each i believe. Vila also didnt look very good on the ground. Very surprising line

Pellegrinos line is starting to look a little better. That one is really tough to call. Either guy is worth betting at +150 or so but neither will get there. I'm probably not going to touch this one.

Also, Lyman goods line is kinda silly. I mean he's good in all, but is he sooo good he deserves an insane line like that? He'll probably win though. I don't see much on this card to bet. Mostly because I don't know the fighters.

Just layed enough to win 500 on prindle. Think that line should be closer to a pick em. Prindle seems pretty good standing and trains with team death clutch (brock's camp). So his wresting shouldnt be horrible either. Santos has beaten his guys quickly and there isnt much footage, but from what ive seen, his bjj isn't great, and he seems green. I'm hoping the dantas line to gets better on 5dimes before i make a bet on him as well.
Well I guess nobody saw it, but Nover just got screwed.

Yeah, maybe "screwed" isn't the right word. But I thought Nover should've gotten the win.
BTW, did any of y'all see the KSW event? Apparently James Thompson got fucked hard by the judges.
Well Vila takes the first. He should really be fighting at 125 lbs, though.

dantas was landing knees and keeping the fight upright. I dont reward pressing the opponent against the fence without taking advantage of it.

Kurt was stuck in a horrible crucifix like position. I probably would have let it go a little longer, but it wasn't as bad as i first thought.
Yeah, I agree that it didn't look good. But still, we see people get out of bad positions all the time. I would've liked for him to have at least had every chance.
