FINAL FOUR :

THIS has got to be one of the most stacked final fours ive seen in quite a while, with such big powerhouses going to battle it out, I think both games will be exciting to not only wager on, but just to watch. I have a rooting interest KANSAS and OHIO ST for bracket purposes, but besides that lets take a look at whats in store for this saturday.

LOUISVILLE +8.5 ...this game for me is more about the coaches than it is the players, on paper kentucky has the edge in just about every category and angle, but its the internal angle i look at more. This year i felt the big east recieved too many bids , uconn and west virginia belonged in the NIT, LOUISVILLE has no doubt exceeded my expectations and i give all the credit to rick petino, this team has peaked at the right time and are getting it done with solid defense holding there opponents to only 58 points as they breezed thru the big east tournament and then proceeded to take down some bigger challenges in the big dance. LOUISVILLE has had the tougher road in getting to the final four and if you look at the teams they played, they were able to have a solid game plan for not only each school but almost against each marquee player. Im never one for taking the underdog unless they have a shot at winning outright, and today i strongly feel the 8.5-9 points is plenty for them to cover, and feek they will win outright. PETINO VS CALIPARI, alot of bad blood here , one has to go with the experience factor, and I am with petino. KENTUCKY is the better team, they have allstars on their team, and have been #1 throughout for good reason. I really like the point gaurd match up in this one, and down low defensively if Dieng can stay out of foul trouble he just might be the man in the middle to put a stop to the points in the paint that kentucky has been most successful in dominating. Of course kentucky looks unstoppable , but this game is on a complete different level. BOTH schools have had plenty of time to look thru the X'S & O'S , so i think this game will be a lot tighter than most expect. BOTH these schools are a combined 1-9 UNDER when playing each other, and i like that trend to continue. HOWEVER THE BIG PLAY OF THE DAY IN ON THE CARDINALS of LOUISVILLE +9 if you can get it , but more importantly you have to take them on the ML AT +400.

KANSAS +2.5 .....life hasnt been easy for the jayhawks leading up to the unc game as they got some squeaker wins, but i like the jayhawks in this spot.im not gonna get into details but this game should come down to free throws, and is the best game on the board. The Ottawa Senators have had a good season as the NHL regular season winds down, but their recent play has not been up to standard. The Senators are just 5-7 over their last 12 games. The Flyers have been relatively consistent all season, and over their last 15 games they are 11-4, which includes 7-2 on home ice. The Senators have struggled vs. a team that scored 5+ in their last game, and they are a woeful 6-20 in their last 26, and have showed some rust off of three day's rest at 2-6 in their last eight. The Senators have just one win to show for their last five trips here. Play Philly.

Analysis: Typically I could not fathom laying these kind of points in a final four battle, particularly when the combatants are intra-state rivals like this. But great teams create situations where you make exceptions. This Kentucky team is one of those caliber teams in my view. They are about as close to a machine as I've seen in years and with the match up against Louisville at hand I know they will have the extra incentive to go out and perform one of their patented search and destroy missions. Make no mistake about it guys, Kentucky is hands down the class of this years field. Could they trip up? Certainly that's the beauty of sports and why most bettors are not cruising around on their private yachts. But with that being said, if I'm going to tag a game here a Triple I'm going with the best team in the land. I sincerely applaud the job Rick Pitino has done with the Cardinals this year, simply stellar. His kids play with tremendous heart and determination and I respect their junk yard dog mentality. If they were playing anyone else here I'd very likely support on play on them. The Cat's are just too big, way too athletic and talented for Louisville to hang with here over 40 minutes of ball. What I especially respect and admire about this Kentucky club is their commitment on the defensive end. Shooting touch can come and go with any team, I don't give a damn who they are, but great defense never slumps. Both clubs can clearly defend but once again, the edge goes to Kentucky in my view. I expect this to be a good game, Louisville is tough as nails and will be prepared, we all know that. However the pace and effort to keep up with Kentucky over 40 minutes will be too much to bear. This Wildcats team is out to put their stamp on history and they are on a mission. I say they clear this hurdle and get it done by double digits. Triple Star on Kentucky. Kentucky/ Louisville Over 137: Google News Play. Ok Louisville plays great defense and they have not played a lot of high scoring games this year because of that defense, but I feel this one will be a bit high scoring. Louisville played Florida in their last game, which is another up an down team and 140 points were scored in that game. As I said they have a great defense and they have allowed just 54 ppg in their last 6 games, but prior to the last 6 games they did allow 71 points to a fast paced Marquette team and they allowed 68 points in their last game vs Florida, so they can be scored upon, with the right offensive team and that's just what Kentucky has. The Cats have been scoring at will in the tourney, as they have averaged 88 ppg on 53% shooting, while for the year they have averaged 77.9 ppg on 48% shooting. Let us also note that the Cats have scored 65 points from the FT line in their last 2 games on 81 attempts, so you can expect plenty of those cheap points here as well. No for the Cardinals they are not a great scoring or shooting team, but the Cats have not really played great defense in the tourney as they have allowed 74.3 ppg in the 4 games, while dating back to the SEC tourney they have allowed 70 points or more in 5 of heir last 6 games. I fee this will be an up and down game as the Cats are the better team and will get the pace where they want it. If Louisville wants to win or keep it close they will have to play at that pace. I feel this will be a bit easy win for Kentucky in a game that should put at least 140 points on the board.

3 UNIT PLAY

Kentucky -8.5 over Louisville: Google News Play. When these teams met on New Year’s Eve, the Wildcats shot 29.8% FG (3-of-16 threes) and still won by seven points, 69-62. They dominated the paint, getting to the foul line 43 times and outrebounding Louisville 57-31. Louisville is a better team then they were then, but so are the Cats. Kentucky has been the most dominant team this year and I feel it will continue in this one. I have at times underestimated the Louisville defense, but I feel they just don't match up well vs the Cats offense here. Kentucky puts up 77.9 ppg on 48% shooting and I feel the Cardinals will have problems stopping them here. Now on the other side, the Cards just don't have enough offense vs a very tough defensive team that is number 1 in the nation in defensive FG% (37.5%) to put enough points on the board to keep this one close. Kentucky has outscored their opponents by 17.3 ppg and this is their year. The Cats move on with a solid DD win.

2 UNIT PLAY

Ohio State/ Kansas Under 136: The Buckeyes have been scoring a ton in the tourney, but today they will be taking on a tough defensive minded Jayhawk team that has allowed just 61.6 ppg on 38% shooting for the year and just 58.5 ppg on 35.7% shooting in the tourney. OSU did allow 70 points to Syracuse in their last game, but this is a team that has played excellent defense all year as they have allowed just 59.7 ppg on 40.6 % shooting for the year and they will be taking on a Kansas team that has struggled to score some in the tourney as they have put up 65 points or less in 3 of the 4 games. Both teams will play defense and this should be a close game thoughtout and while we ma get those FT's at the end of the game, we also should have the teams really walikng up the ball late as well so they can look for their best shot. This one should finish right around 130.
