Scott - CFB REVENGE GAME OF THE YEAR!

Scott Spreitzer | CFB Side Sat, 09/15/12 - 4:00 PM
triple-dime bet 184 UCF -16.5 (-110) BetOnline (http://www.betonline.ag/) vs 183 Florida Intl
Analysis: I'm laying the points with Central Florida on Saturday. This is a revenge spot for the Knights after losing a tough one 17-10 last season. UCF out-gained FIU, while holding the Panthers to 238 yards on 4 yards per play, but couldn't overcome a minus-2 turnover ratio, which included one fumble returned for a touchdown. FIU was expecting big things in 2012, but they have fallen well short of expectations thus far. The Panthers were destroyed, due in part to turnovers, by Duke, then barely got by a defenseless Akron team in OT last time out. Akron passed for 313 yards with 5 TD passes and just 1 interception. The same Akron Zips' squad got destroyed 56-14 by UCF earlier this season. The Knights held the Zips to 325 yards of total offense on just 4 yards per play. Last weekend UCF gave Ohio State all they could handle, before losing 31-16, while covering the closing line in Columbus. UCF held Ohio State to 144 yards on 4.11 yards per play in the second half. And in fact, the Buckeyes gained just 67 yards on their final 23 play…s of the game. This is a tall order for an FIU offense that had to punt the ball 10 times over their final 14 possessions (1 fumble) against Akron. UCF heads into this one on a 14-5 ATS run at home off a SU road loss. They're 11-4 ATS in their last 15 at home, overall. And UCF fits a 25-3 CFB ATS situation. You play on favorites of 10 1/2 to 21 points that outscored their opponents by at least 7 ppg last season, provided they return at least 8 defensive starters. UCF fits the bill and they are matching their goals and expectations, while the Panthers are not. Finally, FIU is on a 0-5 ATS non-conference slide. Those last three spots add up to a 41-7 combined mark. UCF, minus the points on Saturday. Thanks! GL! Scott Spreitzer.

triple-dime bet 130 Ohio St. -17.0 (-110) 5dimes (http://www.5dimes.com/) vs 129 California
Analysis: I'm laying the points with Ohio State on Saturday (12 noon ET). The Buckeyes have stated they'd like their RBs to carry the ball more often and for QB Braxton Miller to carry it less. RB Carlos Hyde is out after suffering a MCL injury against UCF. Jordan Hall has targeted week-3 to make his return, but is listed as questionable. I don't believe it will matter in this one. OSU's healthy RBs may be young, but they're big and physical "loads" just like Hyde is, so there won't be a drop-off, at least against Cal, in my opinion. While the Pac-12 has received a lot of hype since Saturday, there were a few terrible performances and through two games, the Golden Bears have not impressed. Cal opened their renovated stadium against Nevada two weeks ago. Emotions were running high and the crowd and team were pumped. Didn't matter. Cal couldn't match Nevada's speed. Yes, you read that right. Nevada and last week's opponent Southern Utah tore up the Bears in the passing game. The two schools combined to connect on 56 of 77 passes (73% rate) for 522 yards and SUU threw 4 TD passes. Nevada RB Stefphon Johnson & QB Cody Fajardo combined to rush for 242 yards on 55 carries with 4 TDs. And last week's 50-31 score in the win over SUU was misleading. The Bears led SUU, 20-17 after three quarters. That's the same Southern Utah team that got destroyed by Utah State in week-one. OSU QB Miller is not only running all over opposing defenses, but he's connected on 67% of his passes through two games. If Cal couldn't match Nevada's speed, wait until they see OSU's...which is also mixed with brute force. Cal heads into this one on a 2-8 ATS road slide. Ohio State is on an 8-1-1 ATS run against the Pac-12. Meanwhile, Urban Meyer-coached teams are 35-8 ATS in non-conference games and they're 16-4 ATS at home off a home win, outscoring their opponents by an average of 43-13! I'm laying the points with Ohio State on Saturday. Thanks! GL! Scott Spreitzer.

Game: Florida at Tennessee Volunteers Sep 15 2012 6:00PM
Prediction: Tennessee Volunteers
Reason: I'm playing TENNESSEE on the MONEY-LINE. I expect the Vols to win the game and feel the ML price, in comparison to the spread, is fair. The Gators managed a hard-fought road win last week. This will be their second straight difficult road team though and I expect it to catch up with them here. Last season, the only time that they played back to back road games, the Gators lost 17-6, as a 2-point favorite. (They also lost the next game, at a neutral site.) The previous season, they didn't play back to back road games. So, this isn't a situation that they deal with all that regularly. Admittedly, the Vols haven't had much success in this series of late. This year's team checks in with a 2-0 record and a top 25 ranking though, arguably the most talented edition in recent seasons, certainly Dooley's most talented since he's been here. Note that this team returned a whopping 19 starters. Tennessee's offense has managed more than 500 yards in consecutive games for the first time in more than a decade and the first time ever to start a season. The Gators are 0-7 SU the last seven times that they were an underdog while the Vols are 12-2 SU the last 14 times that they were favored. Enough's enough. Tennessee finally gets some payback, keeping its perfect record in tact along the way. *9 Main Event

THE ROOT TRUST featuring Wayne's Pinnacle (http://www.pinnaclesports.com/) UPSET SHOCKER OF THE YEAR
Football NCAAF
Game Date/Time: September 15, 2012, 4:30 pm(PST) Matchup: Southern Cal Trojans @ Stanford Cardinal

Take: Stanford Cardinal

Southern Cal Trojans at Stanford Cardinal...PINNACLE...Take Stanford as the UPSET SHOCKER OF THE YEAR The Cardinal try to extend their college football winning streak to four games over the USC Trojans on Saturday at Stanford Stadium. The Cardinal came out with a bang and more importantly for coach David Shaw ,SU kept the pedal to the metal gassing Duke 50-13. The Cardinal and Trojans began the year with Mountain West and Western Athletic Conference opponents. Stanford fought off the Spartans while Southern Cal pulverized 1-1 Hawaii from the opening whistle 49-10. The Cardinal toppled the Trojans at the Los Angeles Coliseum 56-48 in triple overtime last season. The Trojans beat Syracuse last week. That was also the Trojans' first road game of the year and at Stanford will be their first away challenge of 2012. I have to go with the Cardinal given they are the home underdog. SU survived 37-35 in 2010 and has won the last three tussles between the two teams. I'm going with the Cardinal to give USC a major UPSET. __________________________________________________ _______________________

Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Michigan State Spartans...NO LIMIT...Take Notre Dame The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are off to a strong start this season, and the Irish will look to keep that momentum going on Saturday when Notre Dame heads to East Lansing to face their rival the Michigan State Spartans. MSU QB Andrew Maxwell and RB Le'Veon bell have not been very impressive thru their first two week of games. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish found themselves in a somewhat surprising battle with the Purdue Boilermakers, an improving team. Under center for the Irish on Saturday was Everett Golson, who finished the day with 289 yards and one score. Even though the Irish did come out a bit flat against the Boilermakers, keep in mind that ND had to travel back from Ireland the previous week. Huge rivalry game and the dog will prevail. __________________________________________________ _______________________

North Carolina Tar Heels at Louisville Cardinals....MILLIONAIRES...Take North Carolina The 23rd ranked Louisville Cardinals get another early test this season as they welcome the North Carolina Tar Heels to town for a 3:30 est showdown this Saturday. Sophomore quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was 30-39 for 344 yards and two touchdowns last week against Missouri St. Bridgewater was efficient and downright dominant in that one controlling the huddle and spreading the ball around to multiple receivers. With every passing week, the sophomore shows more and more poise – something that will be very beneficial for this football team as the schedule gets more difficult beginning today with North Carolina. The Louisville defense showed improvement from week 1, holding Missouri State to 249 yards total offense(they will need better than that today!!). Trends the oddsmaker considered and jacked the line – Louisville is 12-2 in their last 14 against the spread vs. the ACC. North Carolina is 1-4 against the spread in their last 5 vs. the Big East. This is a Root Contrarian play to say the least.
