*triple-dime bet 115 North Carolina -7.5 (-110) BetOnline vs 116 Miami
Analysis: I'm laying the points with North Carolina on Saturday afternoon, After watching Miami turn a slew of NC State turnovers into a fortunate Hurricane win two weeks ago, I came back and went against Miami last week for a Knockout release and we cashed an easy 41-3 win with Notre Dame. I'm going against the Hurricanes again this week. Miami gave up 587 yards of total offense to the Irish, including 376 yards rushing on 7.4 yards per carry. That's not the first time Miami's weak defense has been gouged. They rank 122nd in total yards allowed per game, 95th against the pass, 119th against the run, and 103rd in points allowed per game. North Carolina's offensive players must be champing at the bit. UNC is averaging 486 yards per game. They can pass the ball, throwing for 286 per contest, while running for 200 yards per game. And they make it count on the scoreboard, averaging 44 ppg (9th in NCAA). UNC RB Giovani Bernard is averaging 9.1 yards per carry and 119 yards per game behind a talented UNC offensive line. QB Bryn Renner has 15 TD passes and just 4 INTs. He's been sacked a grand total of just 4 times in nearly 200 drop-back opportunities. You get the picture. Remember how heralded this group of UNC players were when they were being recruited by Butch Davis. The talent is in place...while the young Miami Hurricanes suffer through growing pains. There's also a little revenge motive for UNC. They crushed Miami statistically when last they met, holding a 25-15 first down advantage and outgained Miami 429-311, but couldn't overcome turnover problems. Once the Heels settled down, they held Mia…mi to 37 yards on 21 plays over the entire second half. I look for UNC to be focused for the entire 60 minutes this time and I'm laying the points. North Carolina is my Saturday Knockout. Thanks! GL!

10* Conference GOY (3rd TY / won 1st two, 34-7 & 41-20!)-Saturday CFB
10* SEC Game of the Year is on LSU at 8:00 ET.

The Ol' Ball Coach is in his 8th season at Columbia and looky here! South Carolina's 2011 season was marred by the dismissal of its starting QB, the loss of its star running back to injury and an NCAA investigation for improper benefits. However, when the Gamecocks beat Nebraska 30-13 in the Capital One Bowl, South Carolina finished 11-2, setting a school-record for victories in a single season (Gamecocks would finished No. 9 in the final AP poll). However, Spurrier’s never been one to rest on his laurels and in 2012, he’s looking to break even more barriers and/or school records in Columbia. South Carolina took apart then-No. 5 Georgia last Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium, beating the Bulldogs 35-7 (it wasn’t as close as the score). It marked the team’s 10th straight win which represents a school record and with TCU losing last Saturday, South Carolina now owns the nation’s longest active winning streak, as well. The team also moved up to No. 3 in the latest AP poll, the school’s highest ranking since a 9-0 South Carolina team reached No. 2 in the polls before losing to Navy back in 1984. "We certainly like where we are right now, but we're smart enough to know it's still a difficult, difficult road for us," coach Steve Spurrier said. "The goal was not to just beat Georgia and get to 6-0. The team knows we're only halfway there. We're going to try and hit our goals." Last Saturday began a stretch in which the Gamecocks could potentially (likely) face three consecutive top-10 teams, as they visit No. 9 LSU Saturday and then travel to Gainesville to take on then Gators, who currently sit at No. 4 in the AP poll (Gators are at Vandy this Saturday). If the Gamecocks can navigate the next two weeks, they end the season, as always, with their in-state rival, Clemson (currently No. 16). LSU is the small favorite in this game but with the play of these two teams in 2012, the Tigers can hardly be considered much of favorite in this game. LSU opened the season No. 1 in the coaches poll but No. 3 in the AP poll, which was taken after Heisman-finalist from 2011, Tyrann Mathieu, was dismissed from the team. The Tigers opened just fine with wins over North Texas (41-14), Washington (41-3) and Idaho (63-14), before barely getting by a very mediocre Auburn team. 12-10. Then came a 38-22 ‘sleep walk’ of a win over Towson before the Tigers lost 14-6 last Saturday at then-No. 10 Florida. LSU led 6-0 at the half but was held scoreless the rest of the way, finishing with just 200 total yards, eight FDs and just 42 rushing yards (1.7 YPC). The Tigers hadn't dropped a non-bowl game since falling 31-23 to Arkansas on November 27, 2010 and right about now, last year’s much-maligned two-headed QB duo of Lee and Jefferson is looking mighty good. The preseason hype surrounding new QB Zach Mettenberger and an offense that would open things up in the passing game has cooled considerably over the last few weeks (now there’s an understatement!). Mettenberger threw for 158 yards and an interception against Florida and after six games, is completing 61.8% for only 1,174 yards with as modest six TDs. A check of the NCAA ‘stat book’ shows that LSU ranks 9th in passing offense, at 195.7 YPG. Before imploding last week, the running game was carrying the load (Tigers own a talented group of RBs in Hilliard, Blue, Ford and Ware) but LSU will face a South Carolina “D” which ranks 9th against the run, allowing 83.8 YPG on just 2.4 YPC. Now speaking of defenses, let’s NOT forget that LSU owns an outstanding one, allowing 12.8 PPG (tied for 8th) and 221.0 YPG (3rd). There’s no denying that South Carolina has played better than LSU up to this point but I believe the Tigers are EXTREMELY dangerous in this spot, coming off that loss to Florida. The defeat was a a blow to but not a ‘knockout’ to, LSU’s BCS title hopes. However, the team now has no margin of error. How can one ignore that LSU owns a 21-game home winning streak (longest-active in the nation) or this remarkable stat. This is Miles’ 8th season at Baton Rogue and he entered this season 75-18, overall. Two of those losses came in season-ending bowl games, so his Tigers have played 16 times after a loss under Miles. They are 15-1 in those games and let me note each one, for effect. The Tigers won 37-7, 40-3, 49-7, 49-0, 30-24, 21-14, 24-17, 35-10 and 40-31 after their first nine losses. They then followed a 31-13 loss to Ole Miss with a 31-30 loss to Arkansas to cap the 2008 regular season but the Tigers won their bowl game 38-3 to end the season on a winning note. They have followed losses in 2009 and 2010 with wins of 31-10, 24-16, 33-30, 24-21 and 41-24. I’m taking the Tigers to bounce back!
