Wayne Root's NFC-West Game Monday Night Game of the Month.
Football NFL
Game Date/Time: October 29, 2012, 5:30 pm(PST) Matchup: San Francisco 49ers @ Arizona Cardinals

Take: Arizona Cardinals

San Francisco 49ers at Arizona Cardinals...MILLIONAIRES...Take Arizona The NFC West takes centre stage as the Cards host the Niners on Monday Night Football. The Arizona Cardinals are hoping some prime time action to get back some ground they lost with some key QB injuries. The Cardinals showed glimpses of a turnaround against the Vikings in Week 7. John Skelton started his first game back from injury in Minnesota and fared relatively well in relief of Kevin Kolb. Running back Larod Stephens-Howling appears to have taken the back field vacancy for his own. Arizona continues to play well on defense and at home against a division rival you can be sure they’ll want to come out and play at the top of their game especially against an offense led by Alex Smith who despite showing signs of a turnaround this season has struggled against top defenses as seen last week against the Seahawks. If the Cards secondary can neutralize Vernon Davis and generate some pressure up front they can disrupt the Niners ground game and force Alex Smith to throw which would surely make Patrick Peterson’s eyes wide with opportunity. The Niners looked ordinary on Thursday Night against Seattle and will have to come up with a better effort on Monday night in Arizona if they want to be considered among the NFL’s elite and win this game. But winning is not covering. Playing on the road against a team with a great defense and even better special teams is enough to get the sharp bettors excited.
