Penguins at Bruins: What bettors need to know

Pittsburgh Penguins at Boston Bruins (-122, 5.5)

Bruins lead best-of-seven series 3-0.

The Boston Bruins find themselves one win away from a sweep of the top-seeded Pittsburgh Penguins and a berth in the Stanley Cup final for the second time in three years. The fourth-seeded Bruins will look to make quick work of the Penguins on Friday by winning Game 4 of their Eastern Conference final series at TD Garden. Patrice Bergeron redirected Brad Marchand's centering feed past Tomas Vokoun at 15:19 of double overtime and Tuukka Rask turned aside a postseason-high 53 shots as Boston skated to a 2-1 triumph on Wednesday.

The NHL's leading scorer with nine goals, David Krejci has four in this series - which are two more than the sum total collected by Pittsburgh's entire team. The Penguins were the highest scoring club in the regular season, but have received a grand total of zero points from captain Sidney Crosby, reigning Hart Trophy winner Evgeni Malkin and Norris Trophy finalist Kris Letang. In addition, Pittsburgh went 0-for-6 on the power play in Game 3 and is 0-for-12 in the series.

TV: 8 p.m. ET, NBC Sports, CBC, RDS

ABOUT THE PENGUINS: To a man, Pittsburgh's players and coaches essentially said the same thing. The Penguins need to focus on one game - and one game only - if they are going to pull themselves out of this deficit and hand Boston its second historic collapse in four years. "Looking at the situation, down 0-3, you can look at the odds, the history, it’s not a very encouraging picture,” coach Dan Bylsma said. “We don’t have to win four games against the Boston Bruins. We have to win one game (Friday) night to get this thing back to the 'Burgh. That’s what we have to look at."

ABOUT THE BRUINS: Fourth-line center Gregory Campbell suffered a broken right leg after blocking Malkin's shot during a penalty kill in Game 3. Despite being in obvious pain, Campbell remained on the ice for an additional minute before exiting to a standing ovation. "What he did, it kind of epitomizes what type of player he is," fellow Merlot Line member Shawn Thornton said. "He's been like that for probably his whole career, but the whole time he's been here, for sure." Veteran Jay Pandolfo and Kaspars Daugavins are likely candidates to replace Campbell, who will miss the remainder of the postseason.

TRENDS:

* Bruins are 5-0 in their last five home games.
* Under is 5-1 in the last six meetings.
* Penguins are 6-1 in the last seven meetings in Boston.

OVERTIME

1. Pittsburgh won all three regular-season meetings between the teams, but Boston owns an 11-2 edge in goals in this series.

2. Rask's previous postseason high for saves was 45, which was accomplished in Games 3 and 4 of the first-round series versus Toronto.

3. Philadelphia overcame a 3-0 deficit to upend Boston in the second round of the 2010 playoffs.

World Cup Qualifiers: Betting notes on four matches

The road to Brazil continues as Friday features a full slate of World Cup 2014 qualifying matches. Here is a look at a handful of notable matches on the board Friday.

Finland v Belarus +140 +220 +200 (played in Helsinki, Finland)

The Finns have had a somewhat surprising first three matches in this qualifying campaign. They drew with Spain 1-1 and lost to France by the slimmest of margins at 1-0. They have played under the 2.5 goal total in each of their three qualifying matches.

Belarus was throttled by Spain 4-0 and by France 3-1. They seem to have a leaky back four, though the Finns don't have much firepower up front. Playing in front of the home crowd should inspire the Finns.

Croatia v Scotland -350 +400 +1000 (played in Zagreb, Croatia)

Croatia, per usual, has a strong team and sits second in its qualifying group behind Belgium. The Croats will look for three points here as the Belgians have a tough match versus Serbia and could take control of the group.

Scotland has had a dismal campaign and have two draws in its six matches thus far. The Scots have mustered just three goals for in those six matches and have yet to secure a point away from home.

Montenegro v Ukraine +140 +220 +200 (played in Podgorica, Montenegro)

Montenegro is a very interesting side. The nation sits in top spot of a group which includes England and Poland. Montenegro boasts a tidy defense, having conceded just three goals in its six qualifying matches. It also features one of the world's best strikers in Stevan Jovetic.

Ukraine should be desperate for a victory here to get itself back in contention to make it out of the group. It does not bode well for the Ukranians, however, as they lost 1-0 at home against Montenegro back in October.

Jamaica v USA +275 +220 -125 (played in Kingston, Jamaica)

The United States should be buzzing following a 4-3 victory over Germany in an international friendly back on June 2. After securing just four points from three matches, a win here puts the Americans in a great spot to get out of the group.

Jamaica ranks last in the group with two points from four matches and lost to Mexico at home in a qualifier in April. Despite their relatively poor showing thus far, the Jamaicans can still gain some ground on the leaders of the group with a victory. The squads last played on September 11, 2012 with the United States winning 1-0.

2 UNIT = New York Yankees @ Seattle Mariners - YANKEES TO WIN (-151)
Listed Pitchers: Kuroda vs Bonderman
(Note: I'm risking 2.00 units to win 1.32 units)

No normal write up for the 2 unit tonight, but the Yankees are 35-25 on the season and 16-12 on the road while the Mariners are just 26-35 and 15-14 at home. New York took the first game of the series 6-1 last night and have won 4 straight games scoring 23 runs over those 4 wins. The Mariners are 2-4 over their last 6 and send Jeremy Bonderman to the mound who gave up 9 hits and 7 earned runs in his only start of the season on the 2nd of June in just 4.2 innings of work. The last season he was in the Majors (2010 with Detroit) he went 8-10 with a high 5.53 ERA. Hiroki Kuroda is on the mound for New York and he is 6-4 on the year with a 2.59 ERA. The Yankees are 5-2 in Kuroda's last 7 starts as a favorite, and 6-2 in his last 8 starts vs the AL West. T he Mariners are just 6-14 in their last 20 overall and 3-14 in their last 17 games as an underdog. Take New York tonight laying the chalk.

Friday MLB Thoughts

Free play on the Chicago Cubs - Simply a matter of fading the Pirates, who are hitting .175 with 12 runs scored on the last six games. Just doesn't matter who's pitching or who they're playing with those numbers, not on the road. I see the fascination with Francisco this morning. Ignoring it.

Seeing that Mets total now juiced more towards the over makes me think perhaps the Fish will simply not score. Fernandez simply not the same pitcher on the road. Don't like -1.5 with anemic offense and perhaps no ninth inning AB.

Wainright is indeed 6-1 on the road, but his ERA/WHIP are significantly higher than at home. With no bullpen (per se) I simply have to lean to the Reds here.

Early bettors are still enamored with the Brewers. Not with a relief pitcher starting and an offense that's hit four dingers in the last seven games. I happen to think this game goes over.

Look at that total going all the way to 10.5 in the Rockies game. I suppose the weather pattern is respectable for that to happen, but these are the two teams' respective best pitchers. Bullpens chewed up last night, so if one team gets out early, potential boatrace. We'll see if Fowler is playing before we do anything.

I see the love for the Giants. It's either follow the early and sizable betting on SF, or fade the team that's hitting .228 with one home run this week in favor of the one that's hitting over .300 this week.

Braves are among the league leaders in HR's versus LHP, but not so much for average. Dodgers are among league leaders in average v/LHP but not long balls. Night game in Dodger Stadium probably taking under.

Toronto had a day off after the WC trip while the Rangers lost a brutal game in Boston last night. Rogers out of the bullpen to start (with a rested one behind him) and Tepesch a ground ball pitcher. Lean under.

Hammel is one of the few Oriole pitchers I will back on the road. Baltimore is 7-0 in his road starts. With Orioles playing early on Thursday and Rays bats gone cold, lean Orioles here especially if Kelly Johnson is out and Markakis is in.

Simply hard to fade Boston at home on a Friday night after a big win against a team with less wins than the Padres.

Tough not to have an immediate reaction to taking Chris Sale at that price, but this IS the White Sox offense and the A's DO hammer left handed pitching. Parker just shut them out last week, when these two faced each other last week, while Sale gave up one run and lost 2-0. I might make a case of the hitters to adjust.

Although I do like home underdogs, Bonderman, with the Mariners recent offensive ineptness, is simply not something I can make happen, not even the RL.

BOSTON RED SOX
Simply going right back to the Boston Red Sox tonight. We have been on them their last 2 ballgames, including last night's (2*) Winner on them over Texas. The Halos simply struggle vs LH pitching, as they rank dead last in the American League in batting .AVG (.220) and rank dead last in .OPS (.652). Doubront can be nasty and these Angels have very little exposure vs him, too. Only Hamilton (3-7) has more than 1 AB vs Felix. Halos sending out Hanson who is making just his 2nd start since coming off the DL,and he was knocked around in that 1st start off a month layoff, vs the Astros. Obvious edge to the Red Sox bullpen, and I fully expect these Red Sox (who do rake RH pitching) to come away with another win at home tonight.

WNBA - 651 Washington Mystics @ 652 Connecticut Sun
Projected Line: Connecticut by 4 points
Washington got crushed early on the game against Atlanta, as on an up and down game, the Dream have no problems in outplaying the Mystics. Atlanta scored 12 points off Washington's turnovers in the first half, while they also had a 16-0 edge on free throw attempts, therefore it wasn't a surprise that Atlanta was leading the game by 13 points at halftime. Atlanta's defense packed the paint during the whole game, in order to protect the rim and daring the Mystics to beat them from the outside. Washington couldn't and so, they got beaten quite comfortably.

The Mystics will play at Connecticut tonight in Mike Thibault's return to Connecticut after being their coach for so many years. Thibault is trying to implement a similar style in Washington that he used in Connecticut: a fast paced system. The Mystics are obviously still a work in progress and even though they played well enough to beat Tulsa on their season debut, they weren't as lucky against Atlanta, one of the best ball pressure defensive teams in the league. The Sun will be shorthanded for tonight, as they are currently without two of their best guards in Tan White and Renee Montgomery.

"Our bench has been decimated." Sun coach Anne Donovan said. "More than that, it's our scoring punch off the bench. Renee and Tan are the ones that really gave us a lift. We haven't put that pressure on Kelly (Faris). We haven't asked (Natasha) Lacy to be a scorer. That's just not her MO. So it takes all of our scoring punch out of the bench."

Connecticut is an undersized team that relies on their outside game and Tina Charles's presence on the down low. Without their two best offensive guards, I believe that the Sun will struggle to dominate and Washington should then be able to stay competitive in here, with the help of their head coach who knows Connecticut extremely well. Therefore, I'll be taking the Mystics in here.

3 units (Single Dime Play) on 651 Washington Mystics (+7,5) @ -110

WNBA 653 New York Liberty @ 654 Atlanta Dream
Projected Line: Atlanta by 14 points
The Liberty is 2-1 on this early season, with the two wins being on overtime. They are coming from beating the shorthanded Fever, who ran out of gas late in the game due to their lack of depth. But I haven't been impressed with the Liberty, as they have a huge problem with turnovers! On the first three games of the season, they committed 18, 24 and 22 turnovers! Their offensive scheme is built to pound down low, but they are currently missing their best Cheryl Ford.

New York will play at Atlanta tonight and the Dream are a horrible matchup for them, as not only they have the best defense in the league in creating turnovers, as they have also a good frontcourt. Atlanta will use these two edges to crush the Liberty tonight. On their first game of the season against Connecticut, who also like to play at a fast pace like Atlanta, the Liberty allowed 20 fast break points due to their sloppy ball handling and poor transition defense, so Atlanta will be more than happy to face them as they averaged 17.7 fast break points per game and created 19.3 turnovers/game on their first three games of the season. I expect an easy win for Atlanta and so, I'll be taking them in here.

7-Unit Play. Take #957 Philadelphia (-145) over Milwaukee (8 p.m., Friday, June 7)

This is my MLB Game of the Month. The Phillies are starting to play good baseball and are on a roll. They had an easy winner in the first game of the series yesterday and hae won four of six from the Brewers. The road team has won five of six and I think that's what will happen here. It all starts with the mismatch on the mound. Cliff Lee has been awesome. The former Cy Young winner is in a groove. He has won six straight starts and has a 1.46 ERA in his last three outings. Lee has been great out on the road this year and is 5-1 with a 1.53 ERA. He is matched up against a spot starter. Alfredo Figaro has just one start on the year and is not ready for this outing. I had this game at -180 so I think this is a great value. The Phillies are 11-5 in their last 16 games against the Brewers and they are 10-3 in their last 13 road games in Milwaukee. I think that the Phillies are going to keep it going tonight and this is a good spot for a big score.

3-Unit Play. Take 'Under' 8.0 St. Louis at Cincinnati (7 p.m., Friday, June 7)

This is a big rivalry series. I think that it is going to be played tight. The 'under' is 7-2 in the last nine meetings and I think that is what we are going to see here. Adam Wainwright is on the mound for the Cardinals. He is one of the best pitchers in baseball and you can count on a strong effort every time out. He has a 2.33 ERA on the season and a 1.85 ERA in his last three starts. Mike Leake is going for the Reds and he has been even better. Leake has a 0.44 ERA in his last three starts and a 2.75 ERA on the season. He has been excellent. This will have a playoff feel to it. And it will be lower scoring. I had this total at 7.0 and I think it would have gone under even that number.

15* NL Friday Undervalued Underdog on Miami Marlins +198

The Miami Marlins get the call tonight as a massive 2-to-1 road underdog to the New York Mets. New York doesn't have a big edge on the mound like this line would indicate. In fact, I believe the Marlins have the edge here, which is why I'm backing them at an excellent price.

Jose Fernandez is one of the most underrated starters in the league. The right-hander has gone 3-3 with a 3.34 ERA and 1.163 WHIP in 11 starts this season with 60 strikeouts over 59 1/3 innings. While Matt Harvey has posted solid numbers as well, he sports a 4.19 ERA and 1.552 WHIP in his last three starts and is showing signs of slowing down.

What I really like about this pitching matchup is the head-to-head numbers these two have posted against their opposition in 2013. Fernandez is 1-0 with a 1.69 ERA and 0.875 WHIP in three starts against New York this year, while Harvey is 0-0 with a 4.36 ERA and 2.033 WHIP in two starts against Miami this season.

New York is 10-24 (-16.6 Units) against the money line vs. an NL team with a team batting average of .255 or worse this season. Miami is 8-2 (+9.8 Units) against the money line in road games after 2 straight losses by 4 runs or more over the last 3 seasons. The Marlins are 4-1 in Fernandez's last 5 starts vs. National League East foes. The Mets are 1-8 in their last 9 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. Bet the Marlins Friday.

15* AL Non-Divisional KNOCKOUT on Los Angeles Angels +140

The Los Angeles Angels are showing some of their best value of the season tonight as a big road underdog to the Boston Red Sox. Both of these teams have gone in opposite directions to start the season, but I have no doubt that these teams are much more evenly matched than this line would indicate.

In fact, I believe the Angels have the edge on the mound tonight. Tommy Hanson is 2-2 with a 4.19 ERA in six starts this season, including 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA and 0.917 WHIP through two road starts. Hanson is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 0.667 WHIP in one career start against Boston.

Felix Doubront is getting way too much respect from oddsmakers tonight. Doubront has posted a 4.88 ERA and 1.646 WHIP through 55 1/3 innings pitched in 2013. Those aren't numbers that warrant Boston being a -145-plus favorite in this one.

Hanson is 10-2 (+10.2 Units) against the money line as a road underdog of +100 or higher over the last 2 seasons. Hanson is a perfect 9-0 (+9.7 Units) against the money line in June games over the last 2 seasons. Take the Angels Friday.

15* AL Friday Undervalued Underdog on Houston Astros +206

The Houston Astros come in playing their best baseball of the season, yet they are still being treated like one of the worst teams in baseball. In fact, Houston has won seven of its last nine games overall, while Kansas City has lost 22 of its last 30 games.

Jordan Lyles is not getting the respect he deserves here. Lyles has gone 3-1 with a 4.30 ERA in seven starts this season, 1-0 with a 2.53 ERA in two road starts, and 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA in his last three starts. Lyles is 1-1 with a 2.08 ERA and 0.769 WHIP in two career starts against Kansas City.

One of those starts came against tonight's starter in James Shield and the Royals on May 22nd of this year. Lyles allowed one earned run over six innings to get the win in a 3-1 victory over the Royals despite being a +190 underdog.

The Astros are 4-0 in their last 4 vs. a team with a losing record. Houston is 4-1 in Lyles' last 5 starts vs. a team with a losing record. The Royals are 0-6 in their last 6 during game 1 of a series. Kansas City is 1-5 in Shields' last 6 starts. The Royals are 0-4 in Shields' last 4 starts as a favorite. Take the Astros Friday.

20* NL West GAME OF THE WEEK on San Francisco Giants +120

The San Francisco Giants are showing excellent value as a road underdog to the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight. San Francisco comes in rested after having Thursday off, while Arizona finished a 4-game series with St. Louis yesterday.

The reason the Giants are undervalued tonight is because Matt Cain has not been up to par this season. But he's been more unlucky than anything as he has posted a 5.45 ERA despite a 1.211 WHIP through 12 starts this year. With that kind of WHIP, he should have closer to a 3.00 ERA on the season.

Pat Corbin is overvalued due to a fast start this season. He has shown signs of tiring of late, giving up 8 runs, 7 earned, over 12 innings in his last two starts against the lowly Cubs and Padres. I look for the Giants to get after him tonight.

Cain is 13-6 with a 3.47 ERA and 1.166 WHIP in 29 career starts against Arizona. Corbin is 2-1 with a 4.45 ERA in five career starts against San Francisco. The Giants are 50-26 (+24.3 Units) against the money line against left-handed starters over the last 2 seasons. San Francisco is 6-1 in Cain's last 7 starts. The Giants are 12-4 in Cain's last 16 starts as a road underdog. Bet the Giants Friday.

15* NL Friday No-Doubt Rout on Los Angeles Dodgers -109

The Los Angeles Angels are coming around of late having won three of their last four games coming in. They have been helped by the addition of Yaseil Puig to the lineup. He has three homers and nine RBIs in his last four games in place of the injured Matt Kemp.

While I love what Puig is doing right now, I really like the Dodgers tonight due to their edge on the mound. Hyun-Jin Ryu has gone 6-2 with a 2.89 ERA and 1.130 WHIP in 11 starts this season, including 4-1 with a 1.57 ERA and 0.874 WHIP in five home starts.

Paul Maholm is getting way too much respect from oddsmakers in this one. The left-hander has been at his worst on the road, going 3-3 with a 5.35 ERA and 1.413 WHIP in seven starts away from home. Maholm is also 2-5 with a 4.72 ERA and 1.524 WHIP in 10 career starts against Los Angeles.

The Dodgers are 5-0 in their last 5 home games vs. a left-handed starter. The Dodgers are 6-0 in their last 6 home games with the total set at 7.0-8.5. Los Angeles is 5-0 in Ryu's last 5 starts as a favorite. Los Angeles is 4-0 in Ryu's last 4 home starts. These four trends combine for a perfect 20-0 system backing Los Angeles. Roll with the Dodgers Friday.

Friday June 7th 2013-

4 Unit Play Take #951 Pittsburgh -110 over Chicago Cubs (2:20pm est):

I am a huge fan of Pirates starter Francisco Liriano and what he has done so far this year. Since joining the Pirates a month ago, Liriano has been lights out with an ERA of just 2.17 including an excellent performance versus these Chicago Cubs a few weeks back where Liriano pitched seven innings of shutout baseball allowing only two hits while striking out nine and walking only one. The Pirates have been slumping of late but still are ten games above .500 this season overall.

Left-hander Travis Wood takes the hill here for the Chicago Cubs in this one. Wood has pitched very well so far this season but I am not as sold on him as most as most of his numbers from last season are right in line with this year's also. The big difference so far for Wood has been a BABIP at only .218 right now which much like Tampa Bay's Matt Moore indicates that Wood has got hit fair share of lucky breaks this season. In fact look no further than a xFIP of almost two full runs higher than his ERA this year.

3 Unit Play Take #972 Boston -142 over Los Angeles (7:10pm est):

Boston starter Felix Doubront comes in off his best outing of the season his last time out. Now that a lot of balls are bouncing his way, Doubront has four straight starts allowing only two earned runs or less. The left-hander faces an Angels offense here who is ranked just 28th in on-base average versus lefties this season. Boston seen the return of arguably their best player in Jacob Ellsbury to their lineup last night.

The Los Angeles Angels continue to be a mess. After eight straight wins, the Angels have started to fizzle out again by going just 3-6 in their next nine games. Even more frustrating than that is these nine games all came against below .500 teams also. Now their next nine games are against the Red Sox, Orioles and Yankees, all three very good baseball teams.

The Angels continue to offer extreme value betting against them as they continue to be overpriced all year long. Take Boston in this one. My NBA Finals got off to a losing start but have no fear I am expecting to make me and my followers a nice healthy profit here the last week of the pro hoops season. I am locked in and feel very strongly we will win here to finish out the year.

CINCINNATI (+115) over St. Louis
7:10 p.m. ET
Our free pick record is now 7-2 the last 9 days, including four underdogs. The Reds are one of the most undervalued teams in baseball and are a sterling 21-9 at home. Starter Mike Leake is in tremendous form, winning his last four starts while allowing just one run. St. Louis sends out starter Adam Wainwright, who has struggled in his career against the Reds and will once again have his problems tonight. It's another underdog winner on the Reds.

06/07 7:10 PM EST MLB (955) ST. LOUIS CARDINALS VS (956) CINCINNATI REDS
Take: (955) NL Division Showdown Shocker: Cardinals.
A big NL Central showdown between the top two teams. St. Louis has a powerful offense and ace Adam Wainwright going (8-3, 2.33 ERA), with an amazing 6 walks in 89 innings and 84 strikeouts! Wainwright has pitched eight-plus innings in three of his last five starts. He has allowed eight runs in his last 39 1/3 innings. He is 3-0 with a 1.85 ERA his last three games. The Cardinals are 19-7 in Wainwright's last 26 starts. Unlike Wainwright, Mike Leake of the Reds is very hittable allowing 74 hits and 68+ innings. The Cardinals know him well with a 4.66 ERA in 29 innings against them allowing 39 hits and 45 base runners. The Cardinals are 11-1 in their last 12 road games vs. a right-handed starter, so grab the talented visitors. Play the Cardinals.

06/07 7:05 PM EST MLB (965) TEXAS RANGERS VS (966) TORONTO BLUE JAYS
Take: (965) TEXAS RANGERS
Reason: First place Texas has a strong offense, 9th in baseball in runs scored, 5th in OBP and second in slugging, and they are in the Rogers Center, a great hitter's paradise. The Rangers have a winning road record and are 7-2 in their last 9 road games vs. a team with a losing record. Righty Nick Tepesch (3-4, 3.44 ERA) is having a strong season with only 14 walks in 55 innings and Toronto has never seen him. He also has a 2.12 ERA in his last three starts. Toronto is a last place team that has a losing record both home and away. The Blue Jays are 2-6 in their last 8 vs. the AL West and the Rangers are 5-1 in the last 6 meetings. Play the Rangers.

06/07 7:10 PM EST MLB (971) LOS ANGELES ANGELS VS (972) BOSTON RED SOX
Take: (971) MLB Diamond Dog: LA Angels.
The Angels are 11-3 in their last 14 games following an off day and 15-6 against a left-handed starter. You need to throw strikes in Fenway Park and LA righty Tommy Hanson does, with 10 walks in 34 innings. Boston hasn't seen much of the young prospect and the LA has gotten its offense going over the last month (now 10th in slugging). Fenway Park will be great for the offense but is tough on pitchers and that's concern with Boston lefty Felix Doubront (4.88 ERA), who has a high ERA because he walks so many guys, 29 in 55 innings. The Angels are 8-0 in the last 8 meetings and 5-0 in the last 5 meetings in Boston. Play the LA Angels.

Texas Rangers vs. Toronto Blue Jays (MLB) - 7:07 PM EDT
Premium Pick Pick: Money Line: 100 Toronto Blue Jays
Play Title: Chip's MLB Megabucks Winner (Rangers/Blue Jays)

Texas at Toronto 7:07 ET Blue Jays over Rangers
A week ago the Texas Rangers had the best record in the American League and then they went on the road and have dropped five of their last six including two of their last three against the Red Sox in Boston. The power-packed Blue Jays are starting to recover from injuries and an inconsistent offense. The Blue Jays have averaged 7.3 runs in its last six home games and will have enough here to pull off another win.
Take TORONTO!

Baltimore Orioles vs. Tampa Bay Rays (MLB) - 7:10 PM EDT
Premium Pick: Money Line: -110 Tampa Bay Rays
Play Title: Chip's AL Money Game Winner (Orioles/Rays)

Baltimore at Tampa Bay 7:10 ET Rays over Orioles
The Rays are starting to play the kind of baseball we expected as they have now won eight of their last 11 as they start a 10-game home stand. Baltimore has played well on the road with 19 wins and tonight's starter Jason Hammel (7-3, 5.43 ERA) is undefeated on the road going 7-0 to date. Chris Archer makes his second start of the season tonight but has 36 strike-outs in 29.1 innings from last season. Playing their best ball of the season it's Tampa's turn.
Take the RAYS!
