Friday's NCAAF Top 25 betting cheat sheet

Arkansas Razorbacks at LSU Tigers (-24.5, 54)

One bright spot for the Razorbacks in this rough season has been the pass rush. Arkansas’ 25 sacks are good for third in the SEC, and Chris Smith ranks second in the conference with 8.5 sacks. Pressuring LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger into potential turnover situations might be the only chance Arkansas has against the Tigers, who gashed the Texas A&M Aggies for 324 rushing yards last week.

At 2,926 yards for the season,Mettenberger will become the third quarterback in school history to throw from 3,000 yards, barring an injury, but much of that success came early in the season. In LSU’s last five games, Mettenberger has seven touchdowns against five interceptions after racking up a 15-to-3 ratio in the Tigers’ first six contests. Jarvis Landry leads a talented receiving corps with 67 catches for 1,059 yards.

LINE: The Tigers are listed as 24 1/2-point favorites, with the over/under holding steady at 54.
WEATHER: Temperatures will be in the mid-50s with sunny skies.
TRENDS:

* Razorbacks are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 games vs. teams with winning records.
* Tigers are 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games following a SU win.
* Over is 5-1 in the last six meetings at LSU.

Fresno State Bulldogs at San Jose State Spartans (+7, 71)

No. 13 Fresno State looks to complete an undefeated and untied regular season for the third time in school history when it visits San Jose State in its regular-season finale Friday. The Bulldogs have already wrapped up the West Division title in the Mountain West Conference and will play in the league championship game on Dec. 7. To finish perfect, Fresno State will have to defeat its longest-running rival, as the Spartans and Bulldogs have played 76 previous times.

A week after giving up 478 yards and 58 points in a loss to Navy, the San Jose State defense is feeling confident about going up against Fresno State's high-powered offense. Why? Because the Bulldogs are a passing team, something the Spartans are used to facing, as opposed to the run-oriented Midshipmen, who had 432 of their yards on the ground.

LINE: The Bulldogs opened at -9, but have been bet down to -7. The over/under is holding at 71.
WEATHER: Temperatures will be in the mid-60s with partly cloudy skies.
TRENDS:

* Bulldogs are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 road games.
* Spartans are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games vs. teams with winning records.
* Favorite is 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings.

Oregon State Beavers at Oregon Ducks (-21.5, 68.5)

Brandin Cooks is one of the offensive headliners for Oregon State, already possessing the school's single-season record with 110 receptions, just eight shy of the Pac-12 record set last season by Marqise Lee of USC. Of course, behind any record-setting receiver there is a big-time quarterback, and Sean Mannion has been terrific in 2013, completing 66 percent of his passes for 4,089 yards with 34 touchdowns.

The Ducks were ranked No. 2 in the BCS prior to their loss to the Cardinal and following last week's defeat, Oregon will sit back and watch as Stanford and Arizona State play for the league title next weekend. Mariota (3,127 passing yards, 529 rushing yards, 36 total touchdowns) suffered a head injury last week but passed the concussion protocol and expects to play against the Beavers.

LINE: Oregon is a 21 1/2-point fave after opening -21. The over/under is up one point to 68 1/2.
WEATHER: Temperatures will be in the high-40s with mostly cloudy skies.
TRENDS:

* Beavers are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games following an ATS loss.
* Ducks are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games on fieldturf.
* Over is 10-1 in the last 11 meetings.

South Florida Bulls at UCF Knights (-27, 50)

The Bulls have faced two ranked teams this season, losing to Miami and Louisville by a combined margin of 83-24. South Florida dropped a 16-6 defeat to Southern Methodist last week despite holding the Mustangs to a season-low 229 passing yards - one week after limiting Memphis to just 59 passing yards. Senior wideout Andre Davis ranks fifth all-time at South Florida in both career receptions (109) and receiving yards (1,441).

The Knights are 5-1 this season in games decided by seven points or less, although last week's 49-17 rout of Rutgers featured no such drama. Blake Bortles threw for 335 yards and recorded a touchdown through the air and another on the ground, while Storm Johnson had two rushing scores. In addition to its dynamic offense, Central Florida has committed the ninth-fewest turnovers in the country.

LINE: UCF is a 27-point fave, up one point from a -26 open. The over/under is up a half-point to 50.
WEATHER: Temperatures will be in the mid-60s with partly cloudy skies and wind blowing across the length of the field at 8 mph.
TRENDS:

* Bulls are 6-14-1 ATS in their last 21 games following a SU win.
* Knights are 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games.
* Over is 7-2 in UCF's last nine games vs. teams with losing records.

Inside the stats: Northwestern, Utah leaking oil
By MARC LAWRENCE

Each week we take a look inside the numbers, from both a statistical and a pointspread aspect, on the college football and NFL cards.

Here are this week’s findings. A Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Elevator Up Elevator Down

Season-ending finales in college football take on added significance for teams sitting on the bubble.

In this case, the ‘bubble’ is beneath any team currently one-game under .500 playing in its final game of the regular season. A win today puts them at .500, a loss sends them home a loser for the year. And in many cases these days, a .500 record is often rewarded with a post-season bowl bid.

According to our well-oiled database, these one-game under .500 teams stand a good chance of becoming a .500 team in these season-enders when they find themselves favored in a conference game, and conversely, a lousy chance if they are installed as an underdog in a conference game.

That’s because one-game under .500 conference favorites in season finales are 32-12 SU and 29-15 ATS. This week’s prospective favorites include: Central Michigan, Florida Atlantic and Troy.

Better yet, when favored against an opponent they defeated in a most recent meeting, they zoom to 20-4 SU and 18-5 ATS. Central Michigan will be out to clip the EMU Eagles’ wings this week.

On the flip side, one-game under .500 conference underdogs in season finales are just 17-59-1 SU and 30-44-3 ATS. This week’s dogs with a toothless bite are: La-Monroe, Mississippi State, San Jose State, Syracuse and Wyoming.

Put these same puppies up against a greater than .700 foe and they turn terribly tame, going 4-21 SU and 6-17-2 ATS. Worse, they pee all over the place at 0-16 SU and 1-13-2 ATS as dogs of more than 7 points when facing these same greater-than .700 conference opponents in these games. Both Louisiana-Monroe and San Jose State figure to be in need of potty-training this weekend.

So when choosing to ride any of these one-game under .500 teams in these pivotal contests this week, your success depends on selecting the right door when hopping aboard.

Your ride awaits.

Leaking Oil

Football teams who have been out gained in each of their last three games are considered to be ‘leaking oil’ when installed as favorites in this condition.

These ‘leaking oil’ favorites now stand at 22-27 ATS overall this season, including 17-19 in CFB and 5-8 in the NFL.

According to our Midweek Alert football newsletter this week’s plays would be against Houston, Northwestern, Ohio University, Tennessee, UAB and Utah on the college gridiron, along with Dallas and the NY Jets in the NFL.

Over Achievers

Our NFL Totals Tipsheet keeps tabs throughout the season on Over/Under scoring tendencies in the NFL. And as reported in this column, the success of OVERS has been outstanding in non-conference games.

A 1-1 split last week moves the record on these, these non-conference games (AFC vs. NFC) to 39-13 OVER on season, including a jaw-dropping 17-3 OVER the last six weeks.

This week’s OVER achievers would be the Oakland-Dallas game on Thursday and Atlanta-Buffalo matchup on Sunday.

Stat Of The Week

The underdog in Arizona Wildcats’ games is 24-2 ATS during the regular season from Game Ten out.

Black Friday betting: Best deals in sports wagering

All the best buys with none of the waiting in line. How can you beat that?

While intrepid shoppers brave the elements for whatever bargains they can find on the day after Thanksgiving, bettors will also be seeking out the best deals available. Fortunately, there are plenty of hot-ticket items to choose from in the wagering world, as a handful of teams continue to reward bettors by providing maximum value on a consistent basis.

Here's a list of the top six hot buys heading into Black Friday:

NBA

Philadelphia 76ers

Philadelphia may have been exposed as an overachiever following its shocking 3-0 start to the season, but those Sixers are still piling up the points. The 76ers enter Friday night's action second in the Eastern Conference at 103.1 points per game - and combined with their league-worst defense (109.1 points against), they've been the early-season "over" darlings, compiling an 11-5-0 O/U mark. Even with numbers adjusted to account for Philadelphia's surprisingly potent offense - and truly dreadful defense - the 76ers should remain a popular "over" play.

Phoenix Suns

The rebuilding Suns were expected to be one of the worst teams in the Western Conference. Through the opening month of the season, they've managed to not only avoid the cellar, but remain a .500 team. This has made them a strong ATS play, entering Friday with an 11-3-1 mark. Even more unexpected than the strong start is how the Suns have done it - primarily through a solid defense allowing the 11th-fewest points per game in the league (98.8). If they can stay healthy, bettors should expect the wins to continue.

NFL

Houston Texans

Betting against Houston has been the deal of the century this season. No team has been worse ATS than the Texans, who have dropped nine straight games while generally looking like a team overloaded on turkey and stuffing. The defense, riddled with key injuries, looks a step behind against opposing pass attacks while the offense hasn't been in sync all season. That, along with a season-ending injury to workhorse running back Arian Foster, has led to an abysmal 2-9-0 mark ATS - and isn't likely to get any better, with games against New England and Denver coming up in the next month.

Minnesota Vikings

Two teams find themselves 9-2-0 in O/U so far this season. The first won't surprise anyone - it's the Peyton Manning-led Denver Broncos, who remain on pace to approach the single-season points record. The second is far more unexpected; the Vikings have the second-worst SU record in the NFC, but have been on the high end of the scoreboard more often than not. Yet, unlike the Broncos, the Minnesota offense deserves little credit for this trend. No one expected the Vikings' once-vaunted defense to allow a league-worst 346 points through the first 11 games of the year.

NCAAB

CSU Northridge Matadors

There's a lot to like about CSU Northridge - the nickname (everyone loves matadors), the location (San Fernando Valley represent) and the always-popular Botanic Garden, which is home to more than 1,200 plant species. But what will strike bettors' collective fancies the most is the Matadors' 0-6-0 ATS record through the first two weeks of the NCAA hoops season. CSU Northridge has had an underwhelming start, with all four of its losses coming by double digits and its two victories coming by a combined total of four points.

NCAAF

Eastern Michigan Eagles

Rare is the team that provides lock-caliber value on a weekly basis in two categories, which is what makes the Eagles the ultimate Black Friday find. Eastern Michigan has had a truly terrible season - going 2-9 both SU and ATS - but has been a source of great entertainment for fans and bettors alike with a stunning 10-1 mark O/U. Surrendering more than 50 points in six of the previous eight games certainly helps - and even though the Eagles average fewer than 20 points per game, they managed to score enough in their two victories to send those "over", as well. Double value alert!

Black Friday's one-stop spot betting cheat sheet

Shopping isn't for everyone - and neither is standing in line for hours for the chance to buy an XBox One. Fortunately, Black Friday isn't just a bonanza for bargain seekers - it's also chock full of betting action across the NBA, NHL and college sports ranks.

Here's a look at the marquee games set for Black Friday:

NBA

Golden State Warriors at Oklahoma City Thunder (-7, 203.5)

Warriors point guard Stephen Curry had 29 points and eight assists and was 6-of-10 from 3-point range in Wednesday's loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Curry recently missed two games due to a concussion and has yet to go on a sustained scoring binge despite averaging 20.5 points. Golden State C Andrew Bogut has recorded double digits on the boards in each of his last six games.

Oklahoma City received a huge effort from backup guard Reggie Jackson in Wednesday's gritty victory over the Spurs. Jackson matched his career high with 23 points and was 10-of-14 from the field on a night when star guard Russell Westbrook tallied a season-low six points on 2-of-16 shooting. Westbrook scored a season-best 31 points in a Nov. 14 loss to Golden State.

LINE: The Thunder are installed as seven-point faves, with the over/under dropping a half-point to 203 1/2.
TRENDS:

* Warriors are 14-6-2 ATS in their last 22 games vs. teams with winning SU records.
* Thunder are 5-1 ATS in their last six games.
* Over is 5-1 in the last six meetings in Oklahoma City.

New Orleans Pelicans at Philadelphia 76ers (OFF)

The Philadelphia 76ers stunned the basketball world on draft night by trading All-Star point guard Jrue Holiday to the New Orleans Pelicans. Holiday makes his return to Philadelphia on Friday as the Pelicans and 76ers square off for the second time in two weeks. The first matchup was heavily one-sided, as New Orleans coasted to a 135-98 home victory behind Anthony Davis' 13 points, nine rebounds and nine blocks.

In addition to Holiday, Pelicans starting center Jason Smith (10.8 ppg) is another former Sixer who was traded to New Orleans. Holiday had 17 points and Smith added 14 in Tuesday's one-point loss to Golden State — the Pelicans' second straight defeat following a three-game winning streak. Eric Gordon's decisive 3-pointer rimmed out at the buzzer against the Warriors.

LINE: There are no odds posted yet for this game.
TRENDS:

* Pelicans are 3-12 ATS in their last 15 games playing on two days' rest.
* 76ers are 19-7 ATS in their last 26 Friday games.
* Favorite is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings.

NHL

Pittsburgh Penguins at Tampa Bay Lightning (+118, 5.5)

The already-thin blue line suffered another setback with the loss of Paul Martin, who will be out 4-6 weeks with a broken leg. Former first-round pick Simon Despres moved into the lineup on the blue line. Recent callups Jayson Megna, Andrew Ebbett and Chris Conner played up front in the come-from-behind 6-5 shootout victory over Toronto on Wednesday. Sidney Crosby has totaled eight points in the last six games and boasts 33 overall.

Lightning head coach Jon Cooper said there are no concerns with goalie Ben Bishop, who took a puck off his hand at the morning skate on Wednesday and backed up Anders Lindback. Versatile forward Tom Pyatt and top-four defenseman Radko Gudas could be back soon, but left wing Ryan Malone was placed on the injured list with a lower-body injury. Lightning D Victor Hedman boasts four points in the last two games.

LINE: Pittsburgh is a -118 favorite with the over/under holding at 5 1/2.
TRENDS:

* Penguins are 1-5 in their last six road games.
* Lightning are 8-2 in their last 10 games after allowing fewer than two goals in their previous contest.
* Over is 7-0 in the last seven meetings.

St. Louis Blues at San Jose Sharks (-114, 5.5)

St. Louis extended its winning streak to five contests with a 4-1 triumph at Colorado on Wednesday. Alex Steen tied Washington's Alex Ovechkin for the goal-scoring lead with his 20th of the season and captain David Backes recorded a tally and an assist as the Blues improved to 10-1-1 over their last 12 games. Steen needed just 24 games to reach the 20-goal plateau for the third time in his career.

San Jose began its string of home games with regulation victories over Tampa Bay and New Jersey before outlasting Los Angeles in a shootout on Wednesday. Captain Joe Thornton, who also scored in second period, netted the decisive goal in the eighth round of the bonus format as the Sharks posted their sixth win in seven overall games. San Jose is 1-for-16 on the power play over its last five games.

LINE: The Sharks are listed as a -114 fave - down from a -118 open - with the over/under set at 5 1/2.
TRENDS:

* Blues are 4-0 in their last four games vs. teams with winning records.
* Sharks are 4-1 in their last five games vs. Western Conference foes.
* Blues are 5-0 in the last five meetings in San Jose.

NCAAF

NCAAB

Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers at Michigan State Spartans (-25)

No. 1 Michigan State looks to strengthen its hold atop the rankings when the Spartans host Mount St. Mary's on Friday. For Michigan State, which boasts three players averaging more than 15 points, the Mountaineers offer a break in tough competition before facing No. 16 North Carolina on Dec. 4. Gary Harris leads the Spartans with 17.7 points despite shooting just 26.5 percent from 3-point range.

Adreian Payne adds 17.2 points and eight rebounds while Keith Appling averages 16.8 points and a team-high 5.7 assists. As a team, Michigan State ranks second in the nation with 21 assists per game. The Mountaineers, who have won back-to-back games after dropping their first five, are led by Julian Norfleet, who scores 18.7 points per game.

LINE: The Spartans come in as a 25-point favorite.
TRENDS:

* Mountaineers are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games.
* Spartans are 2-7-3 ATS in their last 12 games following a SU win.
* Over is 4-1 in Michigan State's last five non-conference games.

Duke Blue Devils vs. Arizona Wildcats (+1.5)

Blue Devils freshman Jabari Parker leads the team with 23.6 points and 8.7 rebounds after matching his career high with 27 points on Wednesday. Parker is the first freshman since Kevin Durant (2006-07) to score at least 20 points in his first seven collegiate games. Rodney Hood adds 19.9 points but was held to eight points because of foul trouble Wednesday.

Nick Johnson leads Arizona with 17.3 points and 6-9 freshman Aaron Gordon adds 12.5 points and a team-high 9.7 rebounds. The Wildcats, who are playing Duke for the first time since knocking off the Blue Devils in the 2011 Sweet Sixteen, had 10 turnovers and zero assists in the first half of the semifinal win against Drexel before turning around the offense.

LINE: The Blue Devils come in as a slight 1 1/2-point favorite.
TRENDS:

* Blue Devils are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games vs. Pac-12 foes.
* Wildcats are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss.
* Under is 11-3-1 in Arizona's last 15 neutral-site games.

Oregon State at Oregon: What bettors need to know

Oregon State Beavers at Oregon Ducks (-21.5, 68.5)

A month ago, Oregon was on a path toward the BCS title game, but now the Ducks are simply on a path to redemption. Following a crushing defeat against Stanford on Nov. 7 and last week's stunning blowout at Arizona, No. 12 Oregon returns home looking to take out some anger against rival Oregon State in the Civil War game Friday. The Ducks appear to be catching the Beavers at the right time as Oregon State has dropped four straight games, including a 69-27 pounding against Washington last week.

The Beavers' rushing defense could be the key this weekend as they allowed 530 yards on the ground against the Huskies. The Ducks, while led by Heisman Trophy candidate Marcus Mariota at quarterback, also possess a strong rushing attack that ranks 10th in the country at 277.9 yards per contest. Oregon wideout Keanon Lowe knows that sulking is not an option at this point, saying, "It's the Civil War. We all know what the Civil War is and what that means. So we have no time to dwell on (our recent losses)."

TV: 7 p.m. ET, Fox Sports 1.

LINE: The line opened at -22 and has been bet down to -21.5. The total opened at 67.5 and has been bet up to 68.5.

WEATHER: It will be mostly cloudy with temperatures in the mid 40s.

BOUT OREGON STATE (6-5, 5-6 ATS): Brandin Cooks is one of the offensive headliners for Oregon State, already possessing the school's single-season
record with 110 receptions, just eight shy of the Pac-12 record set last season by Marqise Lee of USC. Of course, behind any record-setting receiver there is a big-time quarterback, and Sean Mannion has been terrific in 2013, completing 66 percent of his passes for 4,089 yards with 34 touchdowns. However, the Oregon State defense has allowed 37.5 points on average during its four-game slide and gave up 692 total yards to the Huskies last weekend.

ABOUT OREGON (9-2, 7-4 ATS): The Ducks were ranked No. 2 in the BCS prior to their loss to the Cardinal and following last week's defeat, Oregon will sit
back and watch as Stanford and Arizona State play for the league title next weekend. Mariota (3,127 passing yards, 529 rushing yards, 36 total touchdowns) suffered a head injury last week but passed the concussion protocol and expects to play against the Beavers. Still, that could mean a heavier workload for De'Anthony Thomas, who racked up 227 all-purpose yards on 27 touches against Arizona.

TRENDS:

* Over is 5-0 in the last five meetings in Oregon.
* Over is 10-1 in the last 11 meetings.
* Oregon State is 1-3-1 ATS in its last five meetings.
* Road team is 6-0-1 ATS in its last seven meetings.

EXTRA POINTS:

1. Prior to throwing an interception on the Ducks' first play against Arizona, Mariota had gone 353 straight passes without a pick.

2. Oregon has won five straight in the series.

3. Oregon State has six wins, but the Beavers are not guaranteed a bowl game, as the Pac-12 has seven bowl agreements but nine teams already bowl eligible.

Arkansas at LSU: What bettors need to know

Arkansas Razorbacks at Louisiana State Tigers (-24.5, 54)

No. 15 LSU is hoping to stay hot after its biggest win of the season when it hosts Arkansas on Friday afternoon in the Battle for the Golden Boot. The Tigers are coming off a 34-10 drubbing of Texas A&M last week in which its much maligned defense held the Aggies and Johnny Manziel to a 299 yards and 10 points, both lows in two years under Kevin Sumlin. LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger, who has been inconsistent over the past few weeks, didn’t have to do much as the Tigers gashed the Aggies for 324 rushing yards.

Arkansas coach Bret Bielema is trying to avoid becoming the first coach in school history to suffer a nine-game losing streak. The Razorbacks have struggled to score, averaging just 20.1 points per game (110th nationally) and to move the ball through the air at 145.8 yards per game (115th nationally). Unless Arkansas’ running game can carry them, the Razorbacks are staring at a third straight loss in the series.

TV: 2:30 p.m. ET, CBS.

LINE: The line has held steady at -24.5. The total opened at 54.5 and has move down slightly to 54.

WEATHER: It will be clear with temperatures in the mid 50s.

ABOUT ARKANSAS (3-8, 3-8 ATS): One bright spot for the Razorbacks in this rough season has been the pass rush. Arkansas’ 25 sacks are good for third in
the SEC, and Chris Smith ranks second in the conference with 8.5 sacks. Pressuring Mettenberger into potential turnover situations might be the only chance Arkansas has against the Tigers.

ABOUT LSU (8-3, 5-5-1 ATS): At 2,926 yards for the season, Mettenberger will become the third quarterback in school history to throw from 3,000 yards, barring an injury, but much of that success came early in the season. In LSU’s last five games, Mettenberger has seven touchdowns against five interceptions after racking up a 15-to-3 ratio in the Tigers’ first six contests. With one of the nation’s top receiving corps in Jarvis Landry (67 catches, 1,059 yards) and Odell Beckham Jr. (56 catches 1,101 yards), the game against Arkansas could provide Mettenberger a chance to regain his early-season form.

TRENDS:

* Arkansas is 5-1 ATS in its last six meetings.
* Over is 5-1 in the last six meetings in Louisiana State.
* Home team is 4-1 ATS in its last five meetings.
* Over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings.

EXTRA POINTS:

1. LSU leads the nation in third-down percentage at 58.6 percent.

2. Arkansas is looking to avoid its first winless season in conference play since joining the SEC.

3. The Golden Boot is a 24-karat gold trophy molded into the shape of the states of Louisiana and Arkansas.

Betting NCAAF teams facing disappointing finishes

For a handful of NCAA teams, the end of the season can't get here quickly enough.

While the top programs head into their respective finales looking to fine-tune for bowl season, several teams with high expectations will be headed home early. Others will wind up playing in a bowl game - but it won't carry nearly the same prestige as the game they were hoping for.

Here are four teams with little to play for as they wrap up their seasons:

TCU Horned Frogs (4-7, 2-6 Big 12)

This week: vs. Baylor Bears (9-1, 6-1)

Just two seasons removed from a third consecutive Mountain West championship, the Horned Frogs' fall from grace is nearly complete. Faced with needing back-to-back home wins over Texas and West Virginia to bolster their bowl chances, they proceeded to lose them both - allowing 60 points in the process - and saw their final chance at bowl eligibility vaporized with last week's 33-31 loss at Kansas State. But TCU still has something to play for - a win over Baylor would send the Bears plummeting down the rankings and drop them into a less desirable bowl game.

TCU is an 11.5-point underdog for Saturday afternoon's tilt with Baylor.

Florida Gators (4-7, 3-5 SEC)

This week: vs. Florida State Seminoles (11-0, 8-0)

The Gainesville faithful couldn't have seen this disaster of a season coming, particularly after the Gators opened with four wins in their first five games. Since then, Florida has dropped six-straight contests - including its first-ever defeat against an FCS opponent - and will finish with a losing record for the first time in 35 years. Last week's stunning 26-20 loss to Georgia Southern halted Florida's bowl streak at 22 seasons. The Gators won't need much prodding to get up for their season finale - a showdown with the rival Seminoles, who can clinch a spot in the National Championship with a win.

Florida is a 27.5-point underdog versus visiting Florida State.

Oregon Ducks (9-2, 6-2 Pac-12)

This week: vs. Oregon State Beavers (6-5, 4-4)

Both teams belong on this list, but the Ducks' precipitous drop from second to 13th in the BCS standings is easily the more egregious development. Oregon was on track for a possible spot in the National Championship three weeks ago, but dropped a six-point decision to Stanford and was blown out 42-16 in Arizona two weeks later. The second defeat cost the Ducks an at-large BCS berth, leaving it to settle for what will likely be an appearance in the Alamo Bowl. Oregon State is also struggling, having dropped four in a row to land in one of the lesser bowl games.

Oregon is a 21.5-point favorite for Friday's home game against Oregon State.

Georgia Bulldogs (7-4, 5-3 SEC)

This week: at Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (7-4, 5-3 ACC)

The Bulldogs came into the year as a prohibitive favorite to contend for a BCS berth - even picking up a first-place vote in the preseason AP Top 25 poll. But an early four-game winning streak gave way to consecutive losses to Missouri and Vanderbilt, and a 43-38 defeat at the hands of the Auburn Tigers dropped the Bulldogs out of contention for the conference championship. Losing senior quarterback Aaron Murray to a torn ACL in last week's 59-17 drubbing of Kentucky was a tragically fitting final straw for a team that saw more than its share of bad luck this year.

Georgia is a 3.5-point favorite against host Georgia Tech.

Bowling Green 31 - BUFFALO 20—MAC East showdown, as winner goes to conference championship game. Much respect due to Buffalo in ‘13, but BG has an edge with the 8th-ranked "D" and, on offense, with a pair of talented, productive sophs in QB Matt Johnson (65%, 17-6 TD-int.) and RB Travis Greene (127 ypg rushing & 9 TDs last 8 games). Bull counterparts QB Licata and RB Oliver excellent, but defensive edge tips scales to visitor.

4 Unit Play. #38/#314 Take Nebraska Cornhuskers -2 over Iowa Hawkeyes (Friday noon ABC) These rivals have closed out the Big Ten season the last three years, and it has been all Big Red. Nebraska has won all 4 games against Iowa, winning by an average score of 29-9 in this matchup. Iowa dominated Michigan last week in yardage but still only won the game by 3 points. Neither one of these teams have an explosive offense, but Nebraska has the better running game, and that will be the difference. This will be an ugly game to watch. However, I see Nebraska pulling it out by 7 to 10 points. Both coaches are on the hot seat, but Bo Pelini needs this game more. Iowa is 5-15 ATS in their last 20 games following a victory in their previous game. Nebraska is 15-4 ATS (2 pushes) in their last 21 home games against teams with a winning road record.

Duke vs. Arizona: What bettors need to know

Duke Blue Devils vs. Arizona Wildcats (-2.5)

Arizona will try to match Duke's four NIT Season Tip-Off championships when they meet Friday for a top-5 matchup at Madison Square Garden. Both teams overcame slow starts in Wednesday's semifinals and are a combined 46-4 at the tournament. No. 3 Arizona is 4-4 against No. 5 Duke, including 2-3 at neutral sites.

Duke will face a different kind of challenge after getting past guard-oriented Alabama. "They're big," coach Mike Krzyzewski said of Arizona. "(Arizona) can post three guys from their starting lineup. And we're not real big so that will be interesting how we try to get that going." Arizona seven-footer Kaleb Tarczewski is coming off his first career double-double.

TV: 6 p.m. ET, ESPN.

LINE: Arizona opened as low as -1 but has been bet up as high as -3.

ABOUT DUKE (6-1, 4-3 ATS): Freshman Jabari Parker leads the team with 23.6 points and 8.7 rebounds after matching his career high with 27 points on Wednesday. Parker is the first freshman since Kevin Durant (2006-07) to score at least 20 points in his first seven collegiate games. Rodney Hood adds 19.9 points but was held to eight points Wednesday because of foul trouble.

ABOUT ARIZONA (6-0, 4-2 ATS): Tarczewski is averaging 9.8 points after scoring 15 points to go with 10 rebounds and a career-high four blocks Wednesday. Nick Johnson leads the way with 17.3 points and 6-9 freshman Aaron Gordon adds 12.5 points and a team-high 9.7 rebounds. The Wildcats, who are playing Duke for the first time since knocking off the Blue Devils in the 2011 Sweet Sixteen, had 10 turnovers and zero assists in the first half of the semifinal win against Drexel before turning around the offense.

TRENDS:

* Blue Devils are 5-2 ATS in their last seven vs. Pacific-12.
* Wildcats are 5-0 ATS in their last five vs. Atlantic Coast.
* Blue Devils are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 neutral site games.
* Wildcats are 4-1 ATS in their last five non-conference games.

TIP-INS:

1. Duke won the tournament in 1985, 2000, 2005 and 2009; Arizona won it in 1990, 1995 and 1999.

2. Duke has had a double-digit scorer off the bench in six of its first seven games.

3. Parker and Texas-Arlington's Reger Dowell lead the country with seven 20-point games.

Iowa at Nebraska What bettors need to know

Iowa Hawkeyes at Nebraska Cornhuskers (-2, 47.5)

Iowa heads to Nebraska on Friday in the regular-season finale for two teams playing their best football in recent weeks, and both squads are riding the momentum of comeback victories. The Hawkeyes, who can double last season’s win total with a victory, rallied from a two-touchdown deficit to beat Michigan on Saturday for their third victory in the past four games. The Cornhuskers also have won three of four, and came from behind Saturday to edge Penn State in overtime.

The Hawkeyes are one of the most improved teams in the nation defensively, rising from ninth in the Big Ten to third in the conference and 13th nationally in points against. The Cornhuskers have struggled at times en route to eight victories, but Nebraska coach Bo Pelini has said he does not feel his job is in jeopardy. “I’m not coaching to save my job or anything else,” Pelini said Monday during his weekly press conference.

TV: Noon ET, ABC.

LINE: The line opened with Nebraska as 3-point faves and now sits at -2. The total is set at 47.5.

WEATHER: Temperatures will be in the mid 30s with a 11 mph wind blowing towards the North endzone.

ABOUT IOWA (7-4, 6-5 ATS): The Hawkeyes are stout against the run, having allowed four rushing touchdowns in 11 games. Sophomore quarterback Jake
Rudock, who had not taken a college snap until this season, has passed for 2,155 yards and 16 touchdowns. Iowa is 3-1 in road games, the only loss coming to Ohio State.

ABOUT NEBRASKA (8-3, 6-5 ATS): The Cornhuskers are 19th nationally in rushing, sparked by junior Ameer Abdullah. His 147 yards last week give him 1,483
for the season and 2,770 for his career, putting him seven yards shy of cracking Nebraska’s top 10 career rushing list. Nebraska has won eight consecutive games decided by seven points or less.

TRENDS:
* Iowa is 4-0 ATS in its last four road games.
* Nebraska is 15-4-2 in its last 21 home games versus a team with a winning record.
* Over is 4-0 in Iowa's last four games following an ATS loss.
* Under is 4-1-1 in Nebraska's last six games in November.

EXTRA POINTS:

1. The Cornhuskers have won 11 of their past 13 Big Ten contests and a victory Friday would give Nebraska its sixth consecutive season of nine or more victories.

2. Iowa’s four losses have come to teams ranked in the BCS top 15 who possess a combined record of 42-3.

3. Nebraska leads the all-time series 28-12-3; Iowa has not won at Nebraska since 1943.

Western Michigan* over Cornell by 23
It’s a good night to be 6’11”, 255 senior Shayne Whittingham of the home team, who
didn’t play in the first few games but then came on the scene to average 17 and 12. He
and senior guard David Brown have stepped up their games. WMU actually has pretty
good size all over the floor, while Cornell is a bunch of lil’ fellers whose few tall kids
are inexperienced, don’t score much, and are not on scholarship.
WESTERN MICHIGAN, 82-59.

***BEST BET
Oregon* over Pacific by 24
Pacific is a nice team, but it’s hard to see them being able to play their defensive-minded
game with anything close to success in a road game on this floor against a good
array of scorers with length advantages. Oregon also has a pair of senior guards who
handle the ball very well in addition to the #1 point guard Dominic Artis, who is only
a sophomore.

ST. JOHN’S, 69-68.

CORPUS CHALLENGE (Corpus Christi, TX)
Virginia over SMU by 5
Virginia’s 3-point shooting and free-throw shooting have been horrible. SMU is shooting
the lights out from beyond the arc, even with highly touted guard Keith Frazier

VIRGINIA, 66-61.

Texas A&M over Missouri State by 6
It looks like a good evening to be young Kourtney Roberson of Texas A&M, their
6’9”, 245 leading scorer and rebounder, given that Missouri State’s two leading
rebounders are 6’5” and 6’4”.
TEXAS A&M, 68-62.

Although Drake lost by only 4 points at St. Mary’s near here on the West Coast, their

PRO BASKETBALL

***BEST BET
Milwaukee over *Charlotte by 7
The Bucks could be a team worth watching now that they finally are getting healthier
with Ersan Ilyasova, Caron Butler and point guards Luke Ridnour and Brandon
Knight returning to the lineup. The Bucks aren't going to lack incentive in this one
after the Bobcats embarrassed them, 96-72, at home six days ago. The Bobcats were
8-27 ATS in their last 35 Friday games.
MILWAUKEE 98-91.

San Antonio over *Orlando by 5
The Spurs were just 1-4 ATS when laying seven or more points and are in a sandwich
spot in this non-conference matchup having just played at Oklahoma City and hosting
Houston on Saturday.
SAN ANTONIO 101-96.

Miami over *Toronto by 9
Toronto has been better on the road failing to cover four of its first six home
matchups. The Heat are leading the NBA in field goal percentage with LeBron James
shooting 60 percent.
MIAMI 109-100.

*Atlanta over Dallas by 6
Dallas ranked among the five worst defensive teams while the Hawks have tightened
up defensively, knocking their points allowed average down six points after giving up
105.4 during their first five games. Hawks point guard Jeff Teague is quietly becoming
one of the better point guards ranking in the top five in assists and averaging better
than 18 points a game.
ATLANTA 108-102.

Cleveland over *Boston by 2
The Celtics are who we thought they are – a long-term rebuilding team without any
stars. But the Cavaliers have been one of the biggest early-season disappointments failing
to cover 12 of their last 13 through this past Tuesday.
CLEVELAND 96-94.

*Detroit over Los Angeles Lakers by 3
Josh Smith has played much better at home and the Pistons could trump Pau Gasol
in the paint with Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe. However, the equation
changes if Kobe Bryant is back by this time.
DETROIT 107-104.

***BEST BET
*Houston over Brooklyn by 19
Expectations were high for Brooklyn, but the Nets have crashed and burned saddled
with numerous injuries, including those to key players Deron Williams and Brook
Lopez. The Nets are helpless in the paint versus Dwight Howard if Lopez isn't back
from his ankle injury. Already the Nets have been blown out on the road by Orlando
and Sacramento, two teams far inferior to Houston.
HOUSTON 114-95.

***BEST BET
*Oklahoma City over Golden State by 17
The Thunder were unbeaten at home entering this week and have revenge for a 116-
115 road loss to the Warriors from two weeks ago when Golden State buried 14 of 23
3-point shots. Klay Thompson made six of nine from beyond the arc in scoring 27
points, but he doesn't shoot nearly as well on the road. The Warriors are missing
injured Andre Iguodala.
OKLAHOMA CITY 121-104.

*Indiana over Washington by 15
The Wizards are beginning to play better, but the Pacers were giving up 15 fewer
points per game than Washington. Indiana was on a 9-3 ATS hot streak going into
this week.
INDIANA 100-85.

New Orleans over *Philadelphia by 4
Not surprisingly the 76ers have stumbled back to Earth while the Pelicans are on the
rise with the return of last year's leading scorer Ryan Anderson, whose return has made
emerging superstar Anthony Davis even better.
NEW ORLEANS 104-100.

*Denver over New York by 9
The Knicks conclude their four-game, seven-day road trip with this matchup as
Carmelo Anthony goes after his old team. Anthony will need help from sharpshooter
J.R. Smith, another ex-Nugget, if the Knicks are to spring the upset. Smith had been
extremely cold since returning from a five-game suspension to open the season.
DENVER 112-103.

Phoenix over *Utah by 3
Winning in Salt Lake City is never easy – with the exception of this season as Utah
has dropped five of its first six home contests. The Jazz have the worst offense in the
league, unable to create or hit shots including free throws, while not getting many
stops on defense.
PHOENIX 94-91.

Los Angeles Clippers over *Sacramento by 7
Aside from DeMarcus Cousins and Isaiah Thomas off the bench, the Kings can't generate
enough offense to stay with the Clippers, who ranked No. 2 in scoring.
Sacramento ranked among the bottom in both offensive field goal percentage and
defensive field goal percentage. That's a bad combination.
LA Clippers 109-102.

Friday's Betting Notes
By David Schwab

The Thanksgiving Holiday weekend is loaded with action when it comes to college basketball starting with a monster matchup on Friday night in the NIT Tip-Off Tournament Finals from Madison Square Garden in New York.

NIT Tip-Off Final

No. 6 Duke Blue Devils vs. No. 4 Arizona Wildcats

The Blue Devils opened-up an 11-point lead at the half in their semifinal game against Alabama en route to a 74-64 victory to cover as nine-point favorites. They are now 5-1 straight-up on the year and 3-3 against the spread. The total has gone OVER in four of the six games. Freshman sensation Jabari Parker led Duke with 27 points and eight rebounds in the win over the Tide.

Arizona came very close to being a no-show in this much anticipated showdown after falling behind by 19 points in its semifinal matchup against the spirited Drexel Dragons. A furious second-half rally resulted in a tight 66-62 victory as a 12 ½-point favorite. The 6-0 Wildcats are now 4-2 ATS. The big man for Arizona in this game was Nick Johnson with 20 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Duke has covered the spread in nine of its last 13 neutral site games while the Wildcats have gone 4-2 ATS in their last six games played at a neutral site.

Other Games

Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers vs. No. 1 Michigan State Spartans

The Mountaineers head into this mountain-sized challenge with a record of 2-5 SU, but the good news is they have won their last two outings. All five losses have come on the road and none of their first seven games have had a posted line. Julian Norfleet is averaging 18.7 points a game while dishing out 5.4 assists a game and Sam Prescott leads the team in rebounds with 4.4 a game.

The No. 1 team in the nation moved to 6-0 SU with last Saturday’s 87-76 victory over Oklahoma in a game that ended as a PUSH. The Spartans are now just 1-2-2 ATS and the total has gone OVER in four of the five games. The duo of Gary Harris and Adreian Payne have combined for 34.9 of the team’s 83.9 points a game. Harris is shooting 87.5 percent from the foul line and Payne is shooting 51.4 percent from the field.

The total has gone OVER in four of the Mountaineers last five nonconference games and Michigan State is just 2-7-3 ATS in its last 12 games following a SU win.

Southern Miss Golden Eagles vs. No. 9 Louisville Cardinals

The Golden Eagles come into this matchup with a hot hand after going a perfect 6-0 SU (3-1 ATS) to start the year. In their biggest victory of the year they knocked off North Dakota State 70-69 as six-point underdogs on the road. Southern Miss is averaging 74 points a game and shooting 48.2 percent from the field with four different players scoring in double figures.

Last season’s national champs took an early tumble in the rankings with a 93-84 loss to then-No. 24 North Carolina this past Sunday as a 10-point favorite. The 5-1 Cardinals have now failed to cover in three of their last four games. Russ Smith continues to lead the way with 20.2 points and 3.5 assists as part of a team effort that is averaging 84.7 points a game while shooting 45.9 percent from the field.

The last time these two met was in January of 2005 with Louisville cruising to a 107-62 victory as an 11.5-point road favorite.

Florida State Seminoles vs. No. 15 Florida Gators

Florida State come into this heated rivalry with a SU record of 5-1 and it has covered in four of its last five games. The only setback of the season was an 82-80 overtime loss to No. 22 Michigan as a three-point underdog. The Seminoles are shooting 50.7 percent from the field which is ranked 32nd in the nation and averaging 81.2 points a game. Ian Miller has led the way with 15.5 points while hitting 48.2 percent of his shots.

The Gators are also 5-1 SU on the year with a 2-1 record ATS. Their only setback was a 59-53 loss to No. 10 Wisconsin as 5 ½-point road underdogs on Nov. 12. Florida is averaging 74.7 points a game with a field goal percentage of 47.7 percent. Casey Prather has been a force with 19.2 points, six rebounds and 2.7 assists and the team as a whole has six players scoring in double figures.

The Seminoles come into this year’s showdown looking for revenge after getting hammered 72-47 last season as six-point home underdogs. The total stayed UNDER the 136-point closing line.

Note: The Hurricanes are living largely on name and reputation these days as they've been outgained in four of their last five games, including a 179-yard walloping in their 19-point win over Virginia last week. The main caveat is that a win today clinches 2nd place in the Coastal but the chant “We're No. 2” has never been very meaningful for this once proud program. Meanwhile, the Panthers will be looking to capture a 7th win and possibly a 3rd place finish in the Coastal with a win today, and they are 7-1 ATS as conference home dogs coming off a win versus a team who won last time out. The ACC apparently will have 10 teams in the post-season, and possibly 11 if Syracuse beats Boston College this weekend. However, if it comes down to a choice, the Panthers should be bowling thanks to their marquee win over the Fighting Irish. Defensively, Pitt is led by DT Aaron Donald, playing in his final regular season college game before heading to the NFL. Donald has 28.5 career sacks, including 10 this year, and has 26 tackles-for-loss this season among his 51 tackles (just for perspective, Ndomakong Suh had 20.5 TFL’s and 12 sacks in his entire 14-game senior season in 2009). Miami has moved the football this season, but could have trouble against a tough Pitt defense with RB Duke Johnson and others still out with injuries. The Clincher: UM coach Al Golden is 1-6 ATS as a conference favorite versus a winning opponent coming off a victory, including 0-3 SUATS as a road favorite in this role. We recommend a 3-unit play on Pittsburgh. Thank you and good luck as always.

Marc's Famous 5* College Football Game of the Month plays are documented 60-28 on all plays since 1990. This month's 5* Game kicks off Saturday, backed a jaw-dropping 24-0 ATS winning angle inside the game and it's yours - if you act now. You know what to do!

>Play On: Akron
Note: The Rockets had their thrusters ripped apart and scattered across the Exosphere in an ugly 18-point home loss to Northern Illinois last week, destroying their chance at winning the MAC West division title. But we’re not going against the visitors because they choked last week. It’s their fragile psyche, and a wobbly defense that’s allowed 1167 yards the last two games, which has us looking the Rubbermakers’ way here. No, Akron could never be mistaken for a conference powerhouse: the Zips are just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 home games and their disturbing 1-12-1 ATS mark in MAC tilts off a win is certainly cause for major concern. However, the Zips are 4-7 after three straight 1-11 finishes, enough of an improvement that 2nd-year HC Terry Bowden was recently awarded a 2-year contract extension through 2018. His team looks to be competitive lately, winning two straight games outright while going 4-0 In The Stats the last four outings. Bowden also owns a 5-3 ATS log as a conference dog off back-to-back wins and should have his team sky-high for Senior day and the season finale. And then there’s this beauty from the mean-machine: greater than .250 college football dogs of 3 or more points in their Last Home Game of the season, playing off win with rest and revenge, are 32-6 ATS since 1980. Zip it, Toledo… Akron gets the cash today. We recommend a 1-unit play on Akron. Thank you and good luck as always.

NCAA Football Play of the Day November 29, 2013 6:59 AM by GT Staff

Toledo at Akron at 9:00 a.m. PST

The Zips have wont two straight games playing great defense and remember they had Michigan beat in game three of the season only to lose late 28-24, they played Northern Illinois close losing 27-20 as a 22 point dog and Northern Ill stomped the Toledo Rockets last week 35-17. We look for the Akron defense to keep this game close.

GamingToday's Consensus Picks November 29, 2013 6:26 AM by GT Staff

NCAA Football

313 Iowa +3: The Hawkeyes lost to the Huskers in Iowa City last year 13-7 and look to return the favor today and we think they can. This game is for second play in the Big 10 legends division and the Nebraska HC Pelini has gone 0-7-1 ATS at home when facing coming off a straight up and ATS and facing a team that is .750 or under.

323 East Carolina +2½: The Pirates on a major roll five straight games, last year when these two met the Pirates won in a very wild game 65-59.

327 Arkansas +25½: Points look great in this game as the Razorbacks catch LSU coming off a huge win last week against Texas A&M and LSU only could beat them by a TD last year and to top it off the Tigers are a lousy 1-8 ATS when favored by 15 or more points in conference play.

338 Pittsburgh +2½: One thing we can say is the Hurricanes are very overrated, Pitt would love to win this game in order to garner a seven win season and we think they will and they have gone 7-1 ATS as a conference home dog when off a win vs a team who also won their last game.

NHL Hockey

62 San Jose Sharks -120: This is the first of two high percentage system plays in the NHL today as we get the Sharks at home riding a three game win streak hosting the Blues who have won five straight games.

72 Buffalo Sabres +130: In our second system play we get a nice home dog with the Sabres as they have dropped five straight games and get the visiting Leafs who have dropped two straight games.

Black Friday card has 4 College football Power System plays , 3 will be top 5* Releases 2 in the afternoon and 2 at night. All are from systems that are cashing 92% or higher and 2 are Perfect long term We also have 2 NBA Plays one is a 5* from a Perfect blowout system the other a 92% Dominator system. NCAAB Up Power Angle Play up too. NBA Remains hot and Thursday card cashes big with Detroit and Texas. Free NBA Play below.

On Friday the free NBA System Play is on the Milwaukee Bucks plus the 5-6 points. Game 501 at 7:05 eastern. Milwaukee has stunk it up so far this season. However this is a good spot for them as they have home blowout loss revenge from a 96-72 thrashing to Charlotte just last week. Milwaukee has won 13 of 17 vs teams who average 91 or less points. For our system we note that home favorites with rest that are off a home dog loss at +5 or more, like Charlotte is are 1-10 to the spread if they lost to the spread and scored 90 or less points. The Bobcats are not fans of Friday as they have lost 30 of the last 35 times. Charlotte is 1-10 straight up at home when the total is 180 to 185 and they have failed to cover 30 of the last 43 times vs teams who allow 99 or more points per game. We will take the point with the Bucks. On Black Friday we have a stellar card that has it all. We have 4 Major College football releases all from Powerful late season systems that are cashing 92% or higher long term and 3 are 5* Sides. In the NBA Which has been piping hot we have 2 Plays one is a 5* from a system that is perfect since 1995. The other is a 92% Dominator system. NCAAB Power Angle Side also up. Turkey day card cashes big with Texas and Detroit. Jump on now and make that Black Friday Holiday money. For the free play take Milwaukee plus the 5-6 points. GC

Pac-12 Report - Week 14
By Joe Williams

Washington State at Washington

The Cougs get no respect from Vegas, entering their rivalry game as a two-touchdown underdog. Take notice that WaZu is 8-3 ATS so far this season. Washington State is bowl eligible for the first time since 2006, but they're looking for a signature win, and to guarantee a spot. While nine teams are bowl eligible, only seven are assured spots in the postseason due to tie-ins. QB Connor Halliday looks to stay hot after going for nearly 500 passing yards last weekend with four TD tosses against Utah. For Washington, their big gun is RB Bishop Sankey, who is looking to bump former Huskies RB Corey Dillon from the perch. Dillon once rolled for 1,695 rushing yards in a single season, and Sankey is 121 yards away from eclipsing that mark. Look for Washington State to see a steady diet of No. 25. The home team is 4-1 ATS in the past five meetings, while the Cougs are 4-9 ATS in the past 13 meetings.

Oregon State at Oregon

If you're looking to make a play in this game Friday, the over might be your best bet. The over is 10-3 in Oregon State's past 13 games against a team with a winning record, and 5-2 in their past seven road games against a team with a winning home mark. The over is 29-10-1 in Oregon's past 40 home games, and 4-1 in their past five home games against a team with a winning road record. In this series, the over is 5-0 in the past five meetings in Eugene, and 10-1 in the past 11 meetings overall. As far as the number, Oregon State is 4-1 ATS in their past five road games, and 18-7-1 ATS in their past 26 road games against a team with a winning home record. Oregon is struggling against the spread lately, going 1-4 ATS in their past five games overall, and 2-5 ATS in their past seven home contests against a team with a winning road record. Oregon enters as a 22-point favorite, and Oregon State certainly has the guns to cover if they can re-discover their offense and stop turning it over.

ACC Report - Week 14
By Joe Williams

Miami, Fl. at Pittsburgh

The Hurricanes hit the road for the Steel City in the only action on Friday from the ACC. Miami put the brakes on a three-game losing skid against Virginia last weekend, but yet again failed to cover. They are now 0-6 ATS in their past six ACC games, and they have failed to cover each of their past four against teams with winning records. Pittsburgh, on the other hand, is 8-2 ATS in their past 10 games in the month of November, and 16-7 ATS in their past 23 games against a team with a winning record. The Panthers are also 9-1 ATS in their past 10 home games against a team with a winning road record. Pitt has covered each of its past three, and won two of their past three overall, including wins against Notre Dame at home, and on the road in Syracuse last weekend. The public is rolling with the 'Canes at nearly a two-to-one clip.

Hawks are in a bit of a funk losing their last 3 including 113-84 at Houston Wednesday night. Mavs come in with a hard fought victory over Golden 103-99. Dallas always plays their best on the road under HC Carlisle. Already this season with new edition Ellis complimenting the scoring of Nowitzki, Dallas has defeated Atlanta 118-109. More of the same today!

If Louisville were a fine bottle of Bordeaux wine, it would be said that they were in their “dumb” stage. Such is often the case with Pitino coached teams as he has them peaking for March. Witness last year’s National Championship. Current issues for the Cards are finding a replacement for last year’s rim protector Dieng. Under highly respected 2nd year HC Tyndall (Moorhead State), the Eagles soared last year and they will do so again. They have strong guard play in Watson and Brooks and excellent offensive balance. We continue to profit from this.
