The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced today a modification to its live event bonuses. Effective immediately, UFC will award Fight of the Night bonuses to each of the fighters in the best fight of the night, as well as additional Performance of the Night bonuses to the two best individual performances on the card. The bonus amounts will remain $50,000. The Performance of the Night bonuses will reward the athletes who put on the best and most exciting individual performances.

I guess Dana wants to give more money to guys who leave it in the hands of the judges, instead of finishing fights.

Pretty much. Read somewhere that they did it because of the whole head injury/concussion talk. They don't want to be known as promoting KO's

probably doesn't hurt that it will discourage grappling too. If they don't want to promote KO's... why are they taking away the sub bonus?

Got me.

I really think the UFC just wants two guys standing in the middle of the ring slugging it out every fight ,Garcia-Phan style

I think this is BS. Totally politically correct nonsense so the UFC isn't seen to be promoting brain traumatizing knockouts or bone snapping submissions. I did read that 5Dimes brought back prop bets for Quickest Knockout and Quickest Submission on PPV events only starting with UFC 170 however as a result of this.

Quickest Knockout and Quickest Submission? Would be a waste of money to bet those

I wouldn't make a habit of betting those props, but I don't see how it's any worse than betting on the previous KOTN or SOTN props. At least the time thing is objective and not subject to the UFC president's whim in the case of more than one KO or Submission in a given card.

They're not offering that prop on this card. Just PPVs.
