Mark Munoz has signed a new four-fight contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The middleweight announced the news via Instagram on Thursday, and the deal was later confirmed by the Las Vegas-based promotion.

Munoz last competed at UFC Fight Night Berlin, where he was submitted by Gegard Mousasi via rear-naked choke 3:57 into the first round. “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” later revealed that he suffered a Grade 3 tear in his MCL and a strained ACL during the bout.

"It was a tough loss. But I think it doesn't matter how many times you fall, but it's about how many times you pick yourself back up after a loss or a failure," Munoz told UFC.com. "That's what I'll do."

After emerging as a potential title contender with seven wins in his first nine Octagon appearances, Munoz has dropped three of his last four. The 36-year-old Reign MMA representative owns notable victories over Tim Boetsch, Chris Leben, Demian Maia and C.B. Dollaway, to name a few.
