1.5* - Grizzlies +1500 (sportsbook.ag)

Here we go again...I will GLADLY risk 1.5* on the Grizzlies to win knowing that IF they do, they give us a 22.5-1 shot to hedge for game 7 where the moneyline will likely be around -350. Just TOO much value and is there more than a 15-1 chance the Grizzlies win game 6? ABSOLUTELY. Then, if they win, we'll come back and split right down the middle with 3* or 4* on the Warriors moneyline. If we lose, we have the Warriors already to win the series and we basically lose a little of the prior hedge and only make peanuts on the series. Just TOO many ways the Grizzlies can get it done. And like I said the first time we did this in the series (after game 1 and we bet the Grizzlies as high at +1750)...this number is RIDICULOUS!

1.5* - Wizards +480

Same deal here...and I think at least one of these 2 teams wins (Grizzlies and Wizards) and maybe both if we get lucky.

That will do it. Enjoy the games tonight...should be good ones!

Larry Ness' 10* Weekly Wipeout Winner-MLB (42-20 s/2014)

My 10* Weekly Wipeout Winner is on the Was Nats at 10:10 ET.Thursday’s rain delay was just the FIFTH in Petco Park history (1 hour, 56 minutes) with the Padres then going out an taking down the Nats, 8-3. The win improved the Padres to 8-5 in May after losing SEVEN of their final eight in April. Meanwhile, Washington lost for just the FOURTH time in 16 games. "It didn't go our way (Thursday)," manager Matt Williams told MLB's official website. "So, we'll get back at it (Friday)." The Nationals had averaged 6.5 runs and batted .308 in 15 contests prior to Thursday and haven't lost two in a row since a SIX-game slide April 22-27.
Odrisamer Despaigne (2-1, 5.13 ERA) gets the nod for the Padres, making his fourth start of the season and first appearance vs Washington. He needs to bounce back after allowing career highs of eight runs and 10 hits over five innings of an 11-0 defeat at Arizona on May 7. "He had a bad game, leaving the ball right over the plate where good hitters like it," teammate Derek Norris said. "Just chalk it up. One of those nights. There were a lot of mistakes. There was nothing I could do about it aside from going out there and throwing it for him." The good news for the Padres is that the second-year right-hander is 4-1 with a 1.77 ERA in nine career starts at Petco (Padres are 7-2). In his only one there this season, Despaigne gave up a run and two hits in seven innings of a 5-1 win over the Diamondbacks on April 14.
However, the bad news for San Diego is that (as noted above) the Nats have been CRUSHING the ball as of late, with Harper leading the way. Then there is Washington’s starter tonight, Jordan Zimmermann (2-2, 4.20 ERA). Zimmermann has pitched better than his numbers indicate, as aside from one poor start against Boston, when he got ripped for eight runs (seven earned) in just 2.1 innings, his ERA on the year is 2.82. In fact, while Strasburg has hogged the headlines these last few seasons, Zimmermann has been the more effective pitcher for the Nats these last three years. He made 32 starts each season, going 12-8 (2.94), 19-9 (3.25) and 14-5 (2.66), with the Nats going 66-30 or plus-$2,903 vs the moneyline at $100/game.
A matchup with San Diego could be “just what the doctor ordered!” He has allowed two earned runs and struck out 34 while walking one over 30 innings to go 2-1 in four starts at Petco. His 0.60 ERA there is his lowest in any road park with a minimum of two starts. He tossed a two-hitter and struck out a career-high 12 during a 6-0 victory June 8 for his second straight complete game at San Diego. "Big ballpark, just let them hit the ball," Zimmermann said after that outing.
Nats get the win, “with room to spare!”
Good luck...Larry

10* MLB ROAD WARRIOR (Free Selection)

NY Yankees vs. Kansas City, 05/15/2015 20:10
Money Line: -126 NY Yankees

This game features the 21-15 Yankees at the 22-13 Royals. The Royals are the better team here but sometimes it’s a steal to get the better pitcher at a great price. Michael Pineda is a young ace he is 5-0 with a 2.72 ERA. He’s facing journeyman 35 year old Chris Young who has gotten lucky in two starts this season but I don’t see this happening tonight. Yankees have lost 3 straight and will be desperate for a win tonight look for them to get it done. Take the Yankees for a 10* winner

Pirates +120
A rare scheduling dynamics baseball play. Lots of these in football and buckets, but generally not on the diamond. I think I'll take a chance here though, This Mets/Cubs series was big in terms of coverage, and the games the last couple days were really tense, with the Cubbies rallying to win both times. I think there's some potential for a bit of a letdown here. The downside is the Cubs have done damage to lefties thus far, and it's not like Jeff Locke is a shutdown guy for the Bucs. But I don't see any advantage on the home team's side with Kyle Hendricks, and in fact on the overall metrics, Locke actually qualifies as a value dog. Wind forecast is out to left so this could turn into a bullpen game, in which case Pittsburgh would own an advantage. I think there's enough here to go ahead with the Pirates.

Yankees -122 (Pineda/Young)
I made this Yankees -140, so no beefs with the number. Rare game where the Royals don't have the blowaway bullpen edge as the Yankees late combo is every bit as good as KC's. A little concerned that the Yankees offense getting shut down last three nights, but Pineda is pitching at an exceptional level right now. Young has been legit this season to some extent, but there's still that .105 BABIP, which is crazy. Pineda go with all the way now, so I'll give the Yankees a play.

Red Sox +102
Team data favors Mariners here, as the Red Sox have not hit lefties at all well. But I'm giving Buchholz an edge over Happ. Never can be sure about Buchholz and Happ could legitimately be pitching the best ball of his career right now. But numbers still say Buchholz a little better. Boston could have a decent bullpen edge here. Uehara worked each of the last two nights, but both were very easy ninth innings and he should be available. Rodney threw a ton of pitches in his inning last night, and Carson Smith has worked back to back. The rest of that Seattle bullpen, save for maybe Joe Beimel, is not good. This is actually priced about right, but Red Sox have shown some life with a 4-1 last 5, and I'll give them a shot here.

6-Unit Play. Take #957 San Francisco -135 over Cincinnati (Friday, May 15th at 7:10 p.m.)

Value is big in this one! Bumgarner vs Marquis at -135 is the definition of Value. The main reason this line is so low is because the Reds have won 12 out of 15 at home vs the Giants. While that could be alarming, Bumgarner won his only start at Cincy during that stretch -- he went 8 innings allowing just 3 hits and 1 earned run on June 5th of last year. This is a great spot to "get our money in good". Bumgarner is pitching really well as of late. He has a 1.77 era in his last three starts and I look for him to help the Giants take game 2 of this series. Marquis has never lived up to the hype. He has a 5.66 era and he has allowed a staggering 7 home run balls in just 35 innings pitched this year.

ROBERT FERRINGO – MLB

1-Unit Play. Take #953 Arizona (-120) over Philadelphia (7 p.m., Friday, May 15)

3-Unit Play. Take #957 San Francisco (-135) over Cincinnati (7 p.m., Friday, May 15) This is an awful tasty prive on one of the best pitchers in baseball. The Reds haven’t been hitting, especially against lefties, and Madison Bumgarner is always a good bet. On the other side is the ghost of Jason Marquis. Honestly, I can’t believe this guy is still hurling and he’s been doing an admirable job. But his stuff is weak and the Giants should get to him. This is a pitching mismatch and I’ll take a shot at this price.

2-Unit Play. Take #963 Washington (-120) over San Diego (10 p.m., Friday, May 15) The Nationals got ambushed last night. But I think they’ll be much better today. They matchup well with the Padres and their pitching staff, which has been struggling a bit. The Nationals have been on fire and I think that this is a more than fair price on them given how well they’ve played and how well they’ve bounced back from losses the last three weeks. At some point Jordan Zimmerman has to get it together. Today is as good as any.

1-Unit Play. Take #973 Tampa Bay (-105) over Minnesota (8 p.m., Friday, May 15)

STRIKE POINT SPORTS – MLB

4-Unit Play. Take #966 Baltimore (-130) over LA Angels (7:05 p.m., Friday, May 15) Baltimore is hoping to take advantage of Jered Weaver’s pitching woes on the road and get out of the basement of the AL East. Baltimore is currently 2 games under .500 and had an off day after taking 2 of 3 from Toronto and I think they get a win tonight. Weaver has allowed 11 runs on 16 hits (4 home runs) in his last two road starts bringing his record to 0-4 with a 6.30 ERA in his last 5 contests away from Anaheim. Weaver will be opposed by Wei-Yin Chen who has not allowed more than 3 runs in each of his last 6 starts. Chen limited the Yankees to 1 run over 7 innings while striking out 7 in a 6-2 win on Saturday and will look to shut down the Angels. Jimmy Paredes has hit safely in 19 of 21 for the Orioles and is hitting .347 during a career best 12 game hitting streak. The Angels are 0-5 in their last 5 games as an underdog while the Orioles are 7-1 in Chen’s last 8 games as a home favorite. Take the O’s here.
