Does Rex Ryan just live to stir up chaos and drama for his teams? It hasn't worked before and probably will work against him this week as he heads to his former home. IK Enemkpali was named one of the Bills captains for this matchup by Ryan. Enemkpali broke Jets quarterback Geno Smith's jaw with a punch during a locker room confrontation in August. Then Ryan and the Bills signed him to start a small fire with his former team. Now it has the potential to become a firestorm. The Jets fans might have a different reaction because there wasn't much love for Geno. We'll have to wait for Ryan's homecoming. Buffalo is trying to win 2 straight for the first time this year. The Jets defense got back on track last week with 6 sacks and forcing 4 turnovers. Look for Jets RB Chris Ivory to do the grunt work relieving pressure for QB Fitzpatrick. The Bills have been weak against the run the last 3 games. This game may come down to how injured Buffalo's RB LeSean McCoy's right shoulder is at game time. My power ratings make the New York Jets a 1.5-point favorite over Buffalo, so there is no line value unless this game hits the key number of +3 or more. This game has a unique storyline with Bills head coach Rex Ryan returning to New York, so this game has to be quite important to him, plus he is familiar with many players on the New York roster. However, it is a tough scheduling situation for the Bills as they must travel for a road game on just three days of rest.

Buffalo is averaging 26.1 points per game on 6.0 yards per play versus defenses that allow just 23.8 points per game on 5.8 yards per play. However, the Bills will face a New York defense that has been terrific at home where they are giving up only 19.2 points per game on 4.9 yards per play.

New York will play back-to-back home games for the first time this season. The Jets are averaging 25 points per game on 5.5 yards per play against defenses that allow 24.6 points per game on 5.8 yards per play, so they’ve underperformed on offense this season. Buffalo’s defense is only allowing 20.3 points per game on 5.1 yards per play on the road this season, so New York’s offense has a touch match-up in this game tonight.

The Hokies have to get two wins in order to get Frank Beamer to his 23rd straight bowl game. That's a lot of motivation. The Hokies have been massive underachievers this season. But I think that focusing on trying to get to a bowl game will help them stay focused and playing hard for the rest of the season. Beamer is a remarkable 24-9 ATS when he is posted as an underdog and facing a team that he has revenge against. Georgia Tech is all over the map this year; they were a Top 20 team, then hit a major losing streak, then have seemed to rebound. But the fact is I will play the underdog on the road here. The line movement is going against the public betting and that is an indicator, so look for Tech to steal an outright win.
1-Unit Play. Take #110 N.Y. Jets (-1.5) over Buffalo (8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 12)
There is just too much emotion for the Jets not to play well in this game. I am a big fan of this Bills team in terms of overall talent. Rex Ryan is a mega-loser and terrible coaching is going to hurt them for the entirety of this season. But from a talent perspective, the Bills are legit. That said, the Jets have been a much better, much sounder, much more balanced team this season. They are at home and this line movement doesn't make a ton of sense. The Jets have a nice home field edge and a big motivational edge in this one. They desperately want to beat Ryan, who did not leave town on good terms at all. Also, Ryan Fitzpatrick is looking to get revenge against his former team. The Bills are better. But they are undisciplined. They will do something stupid to blow this close game.
