After finishing up the seasons last 9 games at 4-5, the Hogs will try and salvage some pride and momentum as they battle Virginia Tech in the Belk Bowl. They had a nice 3-0 start but suffered a horrible finish. One of the main themes of the Arkansas season was the offensive line being unable to keep quarterback Austin Allen from getting slaughtered. Defensively, Virginia Tech holds a sizeable advantage, ranking 19th in total defense compared to Arkansas at No. 75. Arkansas has been bad at keeping the other team from getting the ground game rolling, giving up 209.33 yards per game. The bad news? The Hokies average 184.92 on the ground. For the Arkansas defense, priority No. 1 is to slow down the Virginia Tech quarterback Jerod Evans. His numbers were spectacular, throwing for 3,303 yards with a 27:7 touchdown-to-interception ratio and leading Virginia Tech with 759 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. Virginia Tech is the real deal having won the ACC Coastal by virtue of victories over North Carolina and Pittsburgh before playing Clemson close in a loss in the title game. The Hokies defense allowed just 22.7 points per game and was balanced enough to defend both the run and pass effectively. With dynamic playmakers like the Edmunds’ brothers, Woody Baron and Andrew Motuapuaka, the Hokies will present Arkansas’ offense with one of it greatest challenges of the season outside of Alabama. The Hokies have a huge advantage defensively and too many weapons on offense for Arkansas to keep up with.

We roll with Memphis here as they hook up against OKC in the hopes that we will reach a new season high in the NBA and move past the +$3000 mark. Note, that Memphis comes off back to back losses and will be motivated to do well here. This is a team that has won 20 games this year and is 12-7 on the year. They come off losses to Boston by 13 points on the road (not covering) and 10 points to Orlando on the road (not covering, but don't hold that loss against them, Orlando had revenge). Now, this team returns home where they beat Houston who is one of the best teams in the league as only a 3.5 point underdog which speaks volumes because they were respected that much by oddsmakers as just a small home underdog. This team also beat Cleveland and Golden State as well. Remember, this is the only team that has shown the prowess to beat 3 powerhouse squads in Houston, Golden State and Cleveland. As this team has their backs against the walls today, needing a win, off back to back losses and revenge against OKC for an 18 point loss suffered last year while OKC is due for a let down here after a series of wins, don't be surprised to see Memphis get up for this game and get it done.
