Two teams that have been trending to the over will meet when the Washington Redskins hit the road to take on the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA on Monday night. The Redskins have posted a perfect 8-0 record to the over in their last eight games following an ATS loss and they are also a perfect 5-0 to the over in their last five road games where they faced a team with a winning record at home. They have also gone up and over the number seven of their last nine games where they faced an NFC East Division rival and they are 20-6 to the over in their last 26 games overall. The Eagles have been an over team as well in the spot they are in here on Monday as they have gone 4-1 to the over in their last five games overall and they are an impressive 9-2 to the over in their last eleven games versus a team from the NFC East. They have also gone over the total in four of their last five when facing a team with a winning % of .500 or higher and they are 9-4-1 to the over in their last fourteen Monday Night Football games. The Redskins are coming off a big home win last week against the 49ers but I'm sorry the 49ers are not even close to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles defense will be the key to a Monday Night victory and the last home game the Eagles played their defense held Arizona to only 7 points. Philadelphia gets this big Monday Night win against division rival and the Eagles start pulling away in the division. Washington is 0-4 ATS last 4 Monday Night games and the Eagles are 5-1 ATS against the NFC Conference

Kirk Cousins and Carson Wentz are two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. But they don't get nearly the respect they deserve especially Cousins. Because of Cousins, the Redskins have become a great Over team. They have gone above the total in 20 of their last 26 games and 13 of their past 16 road contests. Cousins has the third-highest quarterback rating in the league. He's averaging 8.4 yards per attempt and has only two interceptions in 158 attempts. He's on pace to throw for more than 4,000 yards for a third consecutive year. Cousins accomplishes this without a star wide receiver or good running back. The Eagles are vulnerable in their secondary because of injuries. Wentz has justified the Eagles' investment in him. He ranks No. 7 in the NFL in passing. He entered this week tied for second with the most touchdown passes with 13. Wentz has been picked off only once in his last 135 attempts. The Redskins will be missing two key defenders, cornerback Josh Norman and lineman Jonathan Allen. Norman is one of the top cornerbacks in the league. Allen was one of the better run defenders. Washington also may be without its No. 2 cornerback, Bashaud Breeland. He suffered a knee injury last week and is questionable

NBA MONDAY SWEEP

San Antonio has defeated Toronto eight consecutive times at home, including 110-82 last season. Yes, Kawhi Leonard remains out. But Toronto also has a key injury as its best big man, Jonas Valanciunas, won't play because of a sprained ankle. The Raptors are 2-0. Those victories have come against a pair of winless teams, the Bulls and 76ers. This is a huge step up for the Raptors. It's also their first road game. The Spurs have a history of playing to the level of their competition. They showed this by knocking off the much-improved Timberwolves in their opener. The Spurs then defeated the Bulls, 87-77, on Saturday. San Antonio is playing outstanding defense holding the Timberwolves to 43.5 percent shooting from the floor and the Bulls to 37.8 percent. LaMarcus Aldridge has thrived in Leonard's absence averaging 26.5 points and 10 rebounds. Toronto's bench isn't as strong as it was last season either.

This high total is based on reputation not reality especially when it comes to the Nuggets. Denver is 27th in scoring averaging 96 points and third in defense holding its two foes to an average of 92 1/2 points. Usually those statistics are the opposite. Not this season, though. The Nuggets are playing at a very slow pace. They are getting little scoring production at point guard with Jamal Murray and Emmanuel Mudiay shooting a combined 10-for-34 from the floor for 29 percent. Big man Nikola Jokic has scored seven points in two games. The Nuggets have no dangerous scoring option with Danilo Gallinari no longer on the team. They are searching for scoring options knowing they won't get it from their point guards. The Wizards have opened 2-0 averaging 117 1/2 points in dispatching the 76ers and Pistons at home. That's one reason why this total opened so high. The Wizards are putting emphasis on improving their defense. They were idle during the weekend having last played on Friday. So their shooting could be a little rusty - this is their first road game - but the energy should be there for a strong defensive effort.

Going Over 6 goals can be a daunting task in the NHL. But that task is made far easier when the matchup is the Kings versus the Maple Leafs. These are the No. 1 and No. 3 scoring teams in the league. Toronto leads the NHL in goals per game averaging 4.6 while the Kings average 3.9 goals a game. The Maple Leafs are an Over bettor's dream team with a fast-paced offense full of talented young skaters and a mediocre-at-best defense with an average-at-best goalie. So it's not a huge shock to see the Over cash in seven of Toronto's eight games. The Kings have scored three or more goals in six consecutive games. It's not a fluke as they've become much more uptempo under John Stevens. Their first line, featuring Anze Kopitar and Dustin Brown, are playing great and Brent Burns ranks among the two best offensive defensemen. This is a prime revenge spot for the Maple Leafs, who lost 7-0 at home to the Kings last season. The price, though, is too high for me to back the Maple Leafs against the unbeaten Kings. Plus the Maple Leafs are coming off maybe their worst defensive effort of the season - which is saying a lot - in a 6-3 loss to the Senators this past Saturday. So I think the best way to get involved in this matchup is ride the high scoring games these teams have produced and go Over again.

The Eagles defeated the Redskins scoring 30 points in Week 1 while the 'Skins struggled offensively in the second half of that season opener. The Redskins are damaged goods on the defensive side of the football.

The Eagles are on extra rest having upset Carolina this past Thursday on the road and they too are suspect in the defensive secondary.

The Skins signal-caller Kirk Cousins has grown with his new cast of characters on offense and his efficiency is off the charts over the last three games connecting on 64-for-91 for 915 yards and eight touchdowns against just one interception during this span.

Cousins finally has a healthy Jordan Reed and by all reports cover corner Josh Norman is still not 100 percent.

Hardly anyone in Philly expected to be in first place at this point of the 2017 season but the offensive minded coaching staff of the Eagles are where they are because they have done an over-the-top job of making in-game adjustments and scheming to take advantage of their oppositions defensive weaknesses. The Skins give up nearly 400 yards through the air in this game and the first team to 30 wins.

The Washington Wizards wouldn't have the same reputation in the betting markets if they played in the much tougher Western Conference as they'd likely be given less respect. The same could be said about the Denver Nuggets if they played in the easier Eastern Conference as they'd likely be considered a better team overall. You can find some great betting opportunities when teams from the opposite conferences in the NBA face each other, especially so in lower priced games like this one here.

We've seen lots of examples of this this in the past few years when a solid Eastern Conference team goes on the road to face a Western Conference opponent. Take a look at the Washington Wizards as they were just 5-10 against the spread last year versus Western Conference foes and in the past three years ATS they are just 16-29 overall on the road against the Western Conference. This is a team that is also missing one of it's key members right now as starter Markieff Morris is out with an injury. There is a big drop off from Morris to the new starter as it also throws things out of whack for the Wizards bench, an area of weakness for this squad. Washington has jumped out to a 2-0 start to the season but neither one of their wins was impressive as the Wizards failed to cover the point spread in either contest.

The Denver Nuggets quietly put things together the 2nd half of last season and posted a very solid 26-19 record which is equal to a 47 win pace over a full NBA regular season. Another key indicator that the Nuggets were an underrated team last year was their 23-11 record against the spread in games lined between -3.5 and +3.5 (basically toss-up level games) as Denver won a lot of games against teams who were SUPPOSEDLY at the Nuggets same level. Denver is off to a 1-1 start to this season but they've also had to deal with what was two difficult match-ups for them. The Nuggets are a team that likes to push the pace but their first two foes were two of the slowest teams (Sacramento and Utah) in the NBA. That won't be the case in this one as Washington loves to play fast, ranking in the top half of the league in total possessions per game in each of the last two seasons.

Play Denver minus the points in this one. Another winning week in the books in football for me and my clients this past weekend making it 6 of 7 winning weeks overall this year in CFB/NFL combined. My 8 unit Game of the Year play got there in CFB on Saturday making me 5-1 this season on all of my 7/8 unit football plays. The Washington Wizards make their first road game of the season and the Wizards are looking to stay perfect but tonight at the Pepsi Center I just don't see it happening. Saturday night the Nuggets had no problem at home beating the Sacramento Kings 96-79 and with the Wizards coming to the Mile High city with injuries and lack of depth I see the Nuggets remaining perfect at home. If the Nuggets can control the boards tonight at home then in the second half I see the Nuggets pulling away and we cash another NBA ticket. The Wizards are 1-5 ATS against Western Conference teams and the Nuggets ate 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games. The home team in this series is also 7-2 ATS and tonight the Nuggets cover this soft non-conference game.

Docs Sports 6-Unit Play #501 Take Philadelphia +4 over Detroit (7 p.m. EST, Monday)

We think that this Philly team is underrated despite a slow start. They opened the season against three of the top teams in the East; Toronto, Washington and Boston; and two of those games were on the road. Tonight they face a drop off in competition as the Pistons are a team that is more on their level as a potential playoff team. The Pistons are 2-1 SU and 3-0 ATS but they have played a much easier slate, and it seems the bookies are begging for Pistons money here with the small line. The Sixers have high hopes this season and we think that they go all out here to win this game. They host Houston next time out so this is their best chance to avoid an 0-5 start. They lost two of three to Detroit last season but the one win was a massive blowout in this same building and we think they have a great chance to win this game outright.

A rematch after the Eagles defeated the Redskins 30-17 on opening week. While the Redskins have shown improvement since then, Philadelphia has proven to be a top club in the NFL. Home after a big win in Carolina and on 10 days rest, these Eagles should be even stronger with the return of stalwart RT Lane Johnson after sitting out last week with a concussion and the Redskins suffering a blow to its defensive front four when impressive rookie Jonathan Allen broke his foot last week. Washington is playing well, having won three of past four, but were manhandled in opener when QB Kirk Cousins was under siege most of the game and the Eagles were able to force four turnovers. The Eagles are making money for their backers, currently on a 7-2 run vs. the number and they get the nod here.

Philadelphia has done everything asked of them including winning their last 3 games in a 12 day period with 2 of them being on the road. Because their last game was on Thursday they have had extra time to prepare but considering the schedule they just had I don’t think the extra time is that big of a factor as they really needed that time off. Washington has been playing really well winning 3 of the last 4 games. Their only loss was at Kansas City when they should of covered if not for the crazy last play of the game. When these two met in week one Philadelphia won by 13 but Washington had 4 TO’s in that game. I expect Washington to score on Philly’s defense that has given up 23 or more in 4 of the last 5 games. Only one team has run against Washington and that was Kansas City who has been running on everyone this year as they have the #4 ranked rushing offense. I’ll take the points here as I believe this one goes right to the wire and is a 3 point game either way. My numbers have Washington winning 27-24.

(-2.6 points). I usually go against the masses here but the nasty weather will be rolling in to Philly and IMO the Eagles are an overrated 5-1 ball club. QB Cousins does enough well to keep the Skins and their super strong running game in this ball game. Skins are a rock solid 5-2 AND 43-25 on the road AS A NASTY DOG . BIRDS 12-16 IN CONFERENCE. This will go down to the final plays and we will gladly take the 5.5 or even 6.0 by game time.
