RECOMMENDED CHOICES
The Walker Group Picks

# 4 TOAST HIM ABOVE 6/1

# 6 EYESA SCHOOLBOY 5/1

# 5 UNBRIDLED SHINE 5/2

TOAST HIM ABOVE has a quite good shot to take this race. Reason to like this filly as she has in the irons one of the best jocks using winning percentages over the last month. Jockey's recent return on investment figures make this filly a strong bet. Has been running soundly lately and will probably be on or close to the lead early on. EYESA SCHOOLBOY - With Edison controlling the reins on him, this gelding will almost certainly be able to break out quickly in this contest. UNBRIDLED SHINE - His chances to prove victorious are much better this time out facing this easier group. Could beat this group given the 52 Equibase Speed Fig posted in his last outing.

RECOMMENDED CHOICES
The Walker Group Picks

# 1 LEI IT ON ME 5/2

# 6 BELLA THE BANDIT 4/1

# 3 EPIC STORY 7/2

LEI IT ON ME looks to be a very good contender. She has been running soundly and the Equibase Speed Figures are among the most favorable in this group of horses in this race. Looks very good to be on the lead at the first call. Recorded a reliable speed figure in the last race. Can run another good one in this contest. BELLA THE BANDIT - She has been running strongly and the speed figures are among the most competitive in this group. Has been racing soundly and has among the most respectable speed in the race for today's distance. EPIC STORY - With a decent 72 Equibase Speed Figure last time out, will surely be a factor in this contest. The average Equibase class rating of 59 makes this one difficult to beat.

#6 OUR FIRST CANDY (ML=3/1)
#3 WINK FOR ME (ML=6/1)

OUR FIRST CANDY - Has discovered a good situation this time. WINK FOR ME - This mare looks good today. Hasn't done much lately, but did win a $7,500 Claiming race on July 25th. All systems look good for this mare. Last morning work, 2nd fastest of the day, shows she's fit and ready.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 FAUTIVE (ML=3/2), #10 THEA'S REIGN (ML=8/1),

FAUTIVE - Speed figs tell a story of decreasing condition. Tough for anyone who saw this horse in her last contest to bet on her this time. THEA'S REIGN - Won't be easy for this thoroughbred to beat this group off of that last speed fig. Not likely to improve enough to run a figure close enough to today's class figure, so put her on the likely underlays list.

Turf Paradise - Race #8 - Post: 4:09pm - Maiden Claiming - 5.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $6,300 Class Rating: 63

Rating: 3

#4 ATSINA WARRIOR (ML=5/2)
#10 SPECTACULAR ONE (ML=9/5)

ATSINA WARRIOR - I really like sprinters that make a quick turnaround. The jockey and conditioner combination here have a high winning percentage when they join forces. SPECTACULAR ONE - Rounding his way back into form. Each of his finish positions is getting better in his recent starts. Ran last time out against a high class rated field at Turf Paradise. The move to a lower class rank should suit him well.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 CHEECH (ML=5/1), #2 SUM CANDY (ML=6/1), #7 HAYNES COUNTY (ML=8/1),

CHEECH - This horse hasn't shown much effort in the last couple of affairs. SUM CANDY - Finished fourth on October 30th after the extended time off. Doubtful if there will be a reversal of fortune in this race. This pony ran a quite unimpressive fig last time around the track. He shouldn't show signs of improvement and will likely get beat in today's race running that fig. HAYNES COUNTY - 8/1 is not offering enough value for any thoroughbred in a sprint of 5 1/2 furlongs that hasn't finished in the money in a short distance race of late. Tough to expect this colt to be in good shape after the very long layoff.

Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: Hal - SPECTACULAR ONE - Comparing last speed ratings in this field, nobody beats this gelding. Tops in the field with a last speed rating of 56 on Oct 30th.

NBA (701) CHICAGO BULLS VS (702) LOS ANGELES LAKERS

Take: OVER

Reason: Your free play for Tuesday, November 21, 2017 is in the NBA contest between the Chicago Bulls and the LA Lakers. The Chicago Bulls off to one of their worst starts at just 3-11 on the season. They are a bit better against the number, going 7-7. The Bulls have been a good road over team, posting a 8-3 O/U mark their last 11 away games. The Lakers are 7-10 SU on the season and 8-9 ATS. The Bulls have allowed over 113 points in three of their last four games. The Lakers have been scoring, averaging over 110 in their last three games. Problem is the defense, which has allowed 107.5 ppg on the season (22nd in NBA). Lorenzo Ball has finally been finding his groove, delivering his 2nd Triple-Double in just 17 NBA games in the team's 127-109 win over the Nuggets last Sunday. The Bulls are one of those teams this year averaging under 100 points. In fact, they average just 95.5 ppg (29th in the NBA). The defense is poor, allowing 104.9 ppg (13th). The OVER is 4-1 their last five meetings between these clubs. I like this game to go OVER despite a poor Chicago offense. Chicago should be able to amp up their offense tonight against a poor Lakers defense. Play the OVER.

Chicago Bulls at Los Angeles Lakers Preview

Los Angeles rookie Lonzo Ball has put up a lot of clunkers through his first 17 NBA games but he also has two triple-doubles in the past five games. Ball will look to follow up a strong effort when the Lakers host the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday.

Ball had 11 points, a career-best 16 rebounds and 11 assists in Sunday's 127-109 victory over the Denver Nuggets while fully impressing coach Luke Walton. "It's what we've been saying the whole time, even when he's not scoring the ball, he has rebounds, assists and steals," Walton told reporters. "Sixteen is a lot, (but) I'm not totally shocked by it. He's really good down there on the glass." Chicago has its own talented rookie in forward Lauri Markkanen but his early season heroics haven't prevented the club from getting off to a porous start. The Bulls are a putrid 1-7 on the road after opening a four-game excursion with a 113-105 loss to the lowly Phoenix Suns on Sunday.

TV: 9:30 p.m. ET, NBATV, WGN (Chicago), Spectrum Sports Net (Los Angeles)

ABOUT THE BULLS (3-11): Markkanen scored a season-best 26 points and also collected 13 rebounds in the loss to Phoenix and has team-best averages of 15.6 points and eight rebounds. The 7-footer is scoring on the inside and also has knocked down 10 3-pointers over the past three games and is developing as the team's top scorer much sooner than expected. "I do like a lot of the spots that Lauri is getting the ball on the floor," Chicago coach Fred Hoiberg told reporters. "But when he's got it rolling like that (against Phoenix), we've got to make it a point to find him."

ABOUT THE LAKERS (7-10): Power forward Julius Randle had a superb outing with 24 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the victory over Denver. Walton dissected the 22-year-old's fine performance and was wondering what the potion is to make that type of showing into a regular thing. "I'm trying to figure that out," Walton said. "Because when he plays like he did (Sunday), he's as good as anyone in this league."

BUZZER BEATERS

1. The teams split two meetings last season with Randle collecting 20 rebounds (to match a career high) in the Lakers' victory.

2. Chicago SG Zach LaVine (knee) is expected to start practicing this week and is on target to make his club debut in December.

3. Los Angeles C Brook Lopez is averaging 20 points on 17-of-27 shooting over the past two games.

PREDICTION: Lakers 109, Bulls 106

Vancouver Canucks at Philadelphia Flyers Preview

The Vancouver Canucks have made themselves comfortable outside of British Columbia while a four-game losing skid has the Philadelphia Flyers resting at the bottom of the Metropolitan Division. The Canucks look to halt a two-game losing skid overall and secure their seventh win in 10 outings away from Rogers Arena on Tuesday when they open a six-game, 12-day road trip against the Flyers.

Vancouver has answered a 6-3-1 record in its first 10 games with a 3-5-2 mark in its last 10, with the team residing in the bottom third of the league in most significant statistics - goals scored per game (2.55, 25th), goals allowed (2.80, 20th), power play (16.3 percent, 22nd) and penalty kill (79.5, 20th). Markus Granlund scored for just the third time in Saturday's 4-3 overtime setback to St. Louis on the heels of a career-best 19-goal season in 2016-17, with three of those tallies coming against Philadelphia. The Flyers won both of those encounters, but the team's temperature is considerably high after being shut out twice before seeing a two-goal advantage go by the boards with three power-play tallies in Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss to Calgary. "It's not deflating. It (expletive) you off. Pardon my language," traditionally mild-mannered coach Dave Hakstol said.

TV: 7 p.m. ET, SNO, SNE, Sportsnet Pacific (Vancouver), NBCSN Philadelphia

ABOUT THE CANUCKS (9-8-3): Vancouver placed former Swedish League Most Valuable Player Anton Rodin on unconditional waivers for the purpose of mutual contract termination, the team announced Monday. "Anton asked to be released from his contract," general manager Jim Benning said of Rodin, who signed a one-year, $700,000 contract extension with the Canucks on June 30. "We value the skill and depth he adds to our team but ultimately it was important to respect Anton's request to move on." Vancouver also recalled Philip Holm (two goals, eight assists) from Utica and assigned fellow defenseman Patrick Wiercioch to the American Hockey League affiliate.

ABOUT THE FLYERS (8-8-4): Burly defenseman Radko Gudas told Philly.com on Monday that he was "surprised" by the 10-game suspension he received for his slash to the back of the neck of Winnipeg's Mathieu Perreault. "I didn't expect that," Gudas said following practice. "I mean, I don't agree with it, but I accept their decision." Mark Alt, who has filled in for injured or suspended players, likely will be inserted into the lineup to play in front of Michal Neuvirth, who is expected to get his first start in six games.

OVERTIME

1. Philadelphia C Sean Couturier, whoh scored in back-to-back contests to increase his team-leading goal total to 12, collected a goal and two assists last season versus Vancouver.

2. Canucks LW Sven Baertschi scored and set up a goal on Saturday to give him 12 points (seven goals, five assists) in his past 13 games.

3. Philadelphia RW Jakub Voracek has recorded nine of his club-best 25 points over the last six games (three goals, six assists).

Edmonton Oilers at St. Louis Blues Preview

Brayden Schenn hasn't needed much time to get acclimated to his new surroundings following an offseason trade, as the 26-year-old has recorded five goals and 10 assists on his career-best seven-game point streak. Schenn looks to extend that stretch and drill the Edmonton Oilers for the second time in under a week when the red-hot Blues open a five-game homestand on Tuesday.

"I'm just trying to be a piece of the puzzle," said Schenn, who has fit in nicely since being acquired from Philadelphia in June for No. 27 overall pick Morgan Frost, Jori Lehtera and a conditional first-round pick. Schenn continued his torrid stretch with two goals and an assist in St. Louis' 4-1 win at Edmonton on Thursday before netting the overtime winner two nights later in a 4-3 victory versus Vancouver. While the Blues have won nine of 12 overall and earned points in 11 of their last 13 home encounters with the Oilers, Edmonton fell for the fourth time in five outings with a 6-3 setback to Dallas on Saturday in the opener of a five-game trek. Reigning Hart Trophy recipient Connor McDavid netted a goal and set up two others to give him 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists) in his past 13 games, although he was held off the scoresheet and finished with a minus-2 rating in that encounter with the Blues.

TV: 8 p.m. ET, NBCSN, Sportsnet West (Edmonton)

ABOUT THE OILERS (7-11-2): Although McDavid missed Monday's practice with an illness, coach Todd McLellan wasn't so much concerned with his team's 27th-ranked offense as opposed to its 23rd-ranked defense. "The commitment to coverage. It's beyond goaltending. It's team-wide and it's something we need to fix," McLellan said. "We've addressed it many times. The group is going to have to respond at some point and finally get it." Cam Talbot yielded all four goals to the Blues in the first encounter after permitting that total - on 88 shots - en route to sweeping St. Louis in three meetings last season.

ABOUT THE BLUES (15-5-1): After joining his team during its three-game trip through western Canada, two-time All-Star defenseman Jay Bouwmeester is expected to make his season debut on Tuesday after sustaining a fractured left ankle while blocking a shot during training camp. "It was good to get on that road trip and skate and practice and get that stuff going," the 34-year-old Edmonton native said. "It's been a long time, especially at the start of the year when you miss training camp and stuff. I'm excited, and hopefully just jump in and not interfere with what's going on here." Bouwmeester will be looking to aid Jake Allen, who turned aside 29 of 30 shots on Thursday to snap a personal three-game skid to the Oilers.

OVERTIME

1. Schenn's line consisting of RW Vladimir Tarasenko and LW Jaden Schwartz has combined for 74 points (28 goals, 46 assists) and a plus-44 rating.

2. St. Louis native LW Patrick Maroon has answered a seven-game point streak by being held off the scoresheet in seven of his last eight contests.

3. Blues C Paul Stastny has six assists in his last three games.

Montreal Canadiens at Dallas Stars Preview

Alexander Radulov revived his NHL career in Montreal last season and now gets to face his former team for the first time when the Dallas Stars host the sliding Canadiens on Tuesday night. Montreal closed out a six-game homestand with a three-game winless drought (0-2-1), capped by a 6-1 drubbing by the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night.

The Stars halted a three-game skid with a 6-3 win over Edmonton as Radulov scored a goal and set up another to boost his season total to seven tallies and 19 points in 20 games. Radulov returned from four seasons in Russia and recorded 18 goals in 54 points last campaign with the Canadiens, earning him a five-year, $31.25 million contract with Dallas. Montreal certainly could use the offensive skills of Radulov, ranking 30th in the league in scoring with 2.38 goals per game. There is some hope for optimism on the injury front with No. 1 netminder Carey Price, sidelined since Nov. 2, set to accompany the team on its two-game road trip to Dallas and Nashville.

TV: 8:30 p.m. ET, TSN2, RDS (Montreal), FSN Southwest (Dallas), NHL.TV

ABOUT THE CANADIENS (8-11-2): Charlie Lindgren will make his eighth consecutive start in net, but after not allowing more than two goals in his first eight NHL appearances, he has been dented for five goals in each of the past two games. Price, dealing with a lower-body injury, faced Montreal's top power-play unit during Monday's practice as he inches closer to a return. "It's a first step," Canadiens coach Claude Julien said. "It's encouraging. Carey will make the trip. We'll take things day by day."

ABOUT THE STARS (10-9-1): Two days after Kari Lehtonen was pulled from Saturday's start against the Oilers, Dallas announced the veteran netminder will be unavailable indefinitely due to personal reasons. Already plagued with injuries, the Stars also announced Monday that defenseman Marc Methot, who missed the past five games, will be out four to six weeks after undergoing arthoscopic knee surgery. In addition, forward Martin Hanzal (hand) is expected to be sidelined for three to seven days.

OVERTIME

1. Montreal is 1-for-15 on the power play in the past seven games while Dallas has allowed at least one man-advantage tally in four straight.

2. The Stars recalled D Julius Honka and G Mike McKenna from Texas of the American Hockey League.

3. Canadiens D David Schlemko practiced Monday for the first time since suffering a hand injury in training camp.

Iowa Hawkeyes at South Dakota State Jackrabbits Preview

Iowa will have to regroup from its first loss of the season when it takes on South Dakota State on Tuesday in the consolation bracket of the Cayman Islands Classic. The Hawkeyes couldn't climb all the way out of a 24-point hole in an 80-71 loss to Louisiana and will need to defeat the Jackrabbits for a chance at fifth place.

The Hawkeyes played much better in the second half against the Ragin' Cajuns, but not nearly well enough to complete what would have been the largest comeback in school history. The traits that were present in their three victories - solid defense and shooting, particularly from 3-point range, and sharing the basketball - were lacking against Louisiana, although a steep rise in competition was partly to blame. Luka Garza struggled for the first time in an Iowa uniform as the freshman forward was held scoreless in 12 minutes of action. Junior Mike Daum, who had 73 points and 37 rebounds in the previous three games, was held to 10 points and nine boards as the Jackrabbits fell to Wyoming 77-65 in the opening round.

TV: Noon ET, No TV

ABOUT IOWA (3-1): Jordan Bohannon and Isaiah Moss combined for 45 points against Louisiana, but even they didn't shoot all that effectively for the Hawkeyes. "We missed 20 shots in the first half. You have to be able to get more than three back (through offensive rebounds)," coach Fran McCaffery told the media. "Twenty points is a lot to overcome." The Hawkeyes, who are 40-4 against Summit League teams - including 7-2 against South Dakota State, made only seven field goals in the first half against Louisiana.

SOUTH DAKOTA STATE (3-2): It's not often that Daum, the Summit League Preseason Player of the Year, gets held in check, as the 6-9 forward has produced 14 career double-doubles and 13 30-point games in his career, including a career-high of 51 points. Daum, who had 21 points and 11 rebounds in last week's loss to No. 2 Kansas, made just 2-of-12 from the field and the Jackrabbits finished with more made 3-pointers (nine) than two-point baskets (eight). Reed Tellinghuisen has 16 points for South Dakota State, which won the last meeting with Iowa 79-69 in 2010.

TIP-INS

1. Iowa's starting frontcourt had six points against the Ragin' Cajuns, all by Tyler Cook.

2. After registering 20 or more assists in their first three games, the Hawkeyes finished with 10 assists and 15 turnovers against Louisiana.

3. The largest comeback by the Hawkeyes was 23 points against Gardner-Webb in 2012.

PREDICTION: South Dakota State 79, Iowa 77

Marquette Golden Eagles at Wichita St. Shockers Preview

Sixth-ranked Wichita State survived a scare in its opening game of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational and hopes for a more complete effort when it meets Marquette in Tuesday's semifinals at Lahaina Civic Center. The Shockers recovered from an 18-point, second-half deficit to produce a 92-82 victory over California on Monday, while Marquette advanced with a 94-83 win over Virginia Commonwealth.

Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall was exasperated over his team's first-half play, impressed with the second-half rebound and wary of the Golden Eagles. "Well, it should be a great game. I know they're going to play hard," Marshall told reporters after the triumph. "They've got some really good sharpshooters. ... Whoever wins has a chance to play for a championship, so I'm anticipating a really good game." Marquette coach Steve Wojciechowski sees a tall task standing in front of his squad. "Gregg has built an elite-level program," Wojciechowski told reporters. "I think at this time of the season, because of their experience, they're as good as any team in the United States. It will be an incredible test for our young team."

TV: 1:30 p.m. ET, ESPN

ABOUT MARQUETTE (2-1): Sophomore Markus Howard helped fuel the victory over VCU by scoring 18 of his 22 points in the second half, stating that he hit the "restart button" at halftime. "I think just not really getting discouraged and letting the game come to me," Howard told reporters regarding the difference. "I mean, I missed a couple shots and I can't really even think about it. I have to move on to the next play." Howard's 19-point average ranks second on the team behind senior guard Andrew Rowsey, who scored 20 against the Rams and averages 22.7.

ABOUT WICHITA STATE (3-0): Senior center Shaquille Morris scored a career-best 25 points while also recording seven rebounds and four blocked shots in a solid performance against Cal. Morris, who is averaging 19.7 points, moved into fourth place on the school's all-time blocks list with 106, passing former NBA star Xavier McDaniel (103 from 1981-85) and Gene Wiley (105 from 1959-62). Sophomore guard Landry Shamet (16.7) matched his career high of 23 points on 8-of-10 shooting.

TIP-INS

1. Marquette holds a 4-3 series edge, but the teams have not met since the 1977-78 season.

2. Golden Eagles sophomore G/F Sam Hauser contributed 20 points and nine rebounds against VCU, raising his season averages to 12 and a team-leading 7.7.

3. Shamet was 4-for-4 from 3-point range against Cal while the rest of the Shockers were 2-for-21.

Pittsburgh Panthers at Oklahoma State Cowboys Preview

The ACC schedule is still weeks away for Pittsburgh, but it needs to figure some things out before the non-conference slate becomes a wash. The Panthers will try to bounce back from another embarrassing defeat when they take on Oklahoma State on Tuesday in the consolation game of the Progressive Legends Classic in Brooklyn, N.Y.

After suffering early losses to Navy and Montana before squeaking past UC Santa Barbara, Pitt was outclassed from the outset in an 85-54 loss to Penn State in Monday's nightcap at the Barclays Center. Jared Wilson-Frame scored 17 points while no other Panther reached double figures and the squad shot 31 percent from the floor against the Nittany Lions. The Cowboys were even worse in that department, shooting 29.9 percent in their 72-55 loss to No. 19 Texas A&M in the opener of the event. Oklahoma State averaged 84 points during its 3-0 start.

TV: 3:30 p.m. ET, ESPNU

ABOUT OKLAHOMA STATE (3-1): Brandon Averette led the Cowboys with 10 points against the Aggies and the 5-11 sophomore has hit double digits in his first four games, although he was held without a 3-pointer for the first time Monday. Oklahoma State had just 10 turnovers and got the line 13 times more than Texas A&M, but it simply could not make enough shots or get enough stops to keep it close. "A lot of their run was that we had breakdowns defensively," coach Mike Boynton told reporters. "We just didn't execute. I don't know from a schematic standpoint there was anything to adjust."

ABOUT PITTSBURGH (1-3): Wilson-Frame was 5-for-12 from beyond the arc but just 1-for-7 inside it and failed to get to the foul line for the first time this season. Senior forward Ryan Luther entered the contest with back-to-back double-doubles while making 13-of-24 shots, but he was limited to six points on 2-of-11 and nine boards. After leaving Brooklyn, the Panthers will play their next nine games in Pittsburgh.

TIP-INS

1. The teams combined to make 20-of-36 free throws in their semifinal losses.

2. The Cowboys made at least nine 3-pointers in their first three games before going 3-for-24 from long range Monday.

3. Pitt is 6-4 against Oklahoma State, winning the last three meetings in 2007, 2009 and 2011.

VCU Rams at California Golden Bears Preview

California appeared to lack a go-to scorer entering the season, but junior guard Don Coleman has settled that issue. Coleman will look to score 30-plus points for the fourth time this season when the Golden Bears face Virginia Commonwealth on Tuesday in the consolation round of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational at the Lahaina Civic Center.

Coleman scored 35 points in Monday's 92-82 loss to sixth-ranked Wichita State and is averaging 28 per game. "Yeah, well, I felt kind of hot," Coleman told reporters after the defeat. "I felt like I was going to have a good game. Once I hit a couple 3s in a row, I knew I had my rhythm going." VCU dropped a 94-83 decision to Marquette in its first-round contest and still is adjusting to new coach Mike Rhoades. "We have a lot of fight, and we can score the ball," Rhoades told reporters. "We're leaving a lot of points here since we got together, but we've got to guard."

TV: 4 p.m. ET, ESPN2

ABOUT VCU (2-2): Sophomore guard Malik Crowfield produced the best performance of his career with 17 points and five 3-pointers against Marquette after averaging just six points over his first three games. Senior forward Justin Tillman matched his season average by scoring 15 points, but sophomore forward Issac Vann (12.5 points) struggled with seven points and zero rebounds. The Rams' "Havoc" defense did force the Golden Eagles into 17 turnovers that led to 24 points.

ABOUT CALIFORNIA (2-2): Freshman Justice Sueing scored a season-best 20 points to raise his average to 13.5 as he continues to impress first-year coach Wyking Jones. Sueing was behind due to a stress fracture in his leg, and Jones admitted it was a mystery how much the forward would be able to contribute. "He was out for so long, my staff and I kind of forgot what he really did for us or what he provided for us," Jones told reporters after Monday's setback. "So we're all kind of seeing it like you all are seeing it, what he was able to bring to the table, night in and night out. He plays with a lot of poise and lot of confidence."

TIP-INS

1. Cal won the lone previous meeting 66-57 at the 1997 Golden Bear Classic.

2. Tillman is shooting 58.1 percent and leads the Rams in rebounding at 8.3 per game.

3. Golden Bears freshman G Darius McNeill is averaging 16.5 points over his last two games after averaging only four over the first two contests.

Penn St. Nittany Lions at Texas A&M Aggies Preview

Robert Williams showed no rust in his season debut for No. 19 Texas A&M and he gives his team plenty to feel good about entering Tuesday's matchup with Penn State in the title game of the Progressive Legends Classic in Brooklyn, NY. Williams, who sparkled as a freshman last season before choosing to forgo the NBA draft and return to College Station, served a two-game suspension to start this campaign but hit the ground running in Monday's 72-55 win over Oklahoma State.

The 6-10 forward hit his first five shots and finished with his 12th career double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds as the Aggies spread the wealth and never trailed. "Our biggest strength is our depth," Aggies coach Billy Kennedy told reporters at the Barclays Center. "We can play big. We can play small. We have a lot of guys who can score the basketball." The Nittany Lions had no issues advancing to the championship contest with an 85-54 rout of Pittsburgh in the nightcap Monday. Tony Carr returned from a one-game layoff due to a sprained ankle to score 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting as Penn State opened 5-0 for the first time since 2008.

TV: 6 p.m. ET, ESPN2

ABOUT PENN STATE (5-0): Josh Reaves, who shot 55.6 percent while averaging 14.7 points in the first three games, also missed the previous contest with a sprained ankle and returned Monday to provide 10 points and three steals. Senior Shep Garner followed up a season-high 26 point effort with 13 points and sophomore Lamar Stevens chipped in 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Stevens is averaging 15.3 points and seven boards over his last four games for the Nittany Lions.

ABOUT TEXAS A&M (3-0): Junior forward D.J. Hogg held down the fort with Williams out and continued to carry a heavy load in Monday's win, making 4-of-5 from 3-point range in the first half and winding up with a game-high 18 points. Freshman T.J. Starks continued to provide a boost off the bench with nine points, six rebounds and four assists in 23 minutes, while senior center Tonny Trocha-Morelos chipped in a season-high 12 points. The Aggies have made 30-of-65 from behind the 3-point arc on the season while holding their three opponents to an 18-of-81 showing.

2. Carr hit all four of his 3-point tries Monday and is 8-for-12 from long distance.

3. Texas A&M has won the first three meetings but the teams have not met since 2005.

Southern Illinois Salukis at Louisville Cardinals Preview

No. 18 Louisville might have an unblemished record, but its play through two games has been anything but perfect. The Cardinals will look to straighten things out Tuesday night as they host Southern Illinois.

Following an uninspiring 72-61 win over George Mason to open the season, Louisville burst out to a 15-point halftime lead against winless Omaha before allowing 53 second-half points and holding on for a nine-point triumph. Deng Adel had 21 points and Ray Spalding added a career-best 19 points and 11 rebounds in a game that left interim head coach David Padgett crestfallen. "We played 20 minutes of pretty darn good basketball, and we played 20 minutes of embarrassing basketball," Padgett told reporters afterward. "We've got to find a way to play with a lead." Look for the Cardinals to do a better job of that against the Salukis, who are also unbeaten but had little margin for error in a 69-64 win over Division II Illinois-Springfield last time out.

TV: 7 p.m. ET, ACC Network Extra

ABOUT SOUTHERN ILLINOIS (2-0): Four Salukis players average at least 12.5 points per game, led by Armon Fletcher and his 14 ppg. Junior center Kavion Pippen is next in line at 13 ppg and has been the team's anchor on defense, averaging a team-best 8.5 rebounds while recording three blocks in each of his first two games this season. The team's top five scorers are all shooting better than 52 percent from the floor, but starting guard Sean Lloyd Jr. isn't one of them after missing all eight of his field-goal attempts en route to a zero-point showing against Illinois-Springfield.

ABOUT LOUISVILLE (2-0): Padgett has plenty to work on moving forward, but he might want to start with ball movement; the Cardinals have just 25 assists on 54 made field goals, with their 12.5 assist-per-game average ranking outside the top 240 in Division I. Adel, who averaged 12.1 points as a sophomore, is at 20.5 ppg through two games on 64-percent shooting after going 7-of-8 from the field against Omaha. Seven-foot Egyptian forward Anas Mahmoud has also been a solid contributor, averaging eight points, 8.3 rebounds and five blocks; he swatted eight shots in just 22 minutes in the win over Omaha.

TIP-INS

1. Louisville blocked 15 shots vs. Omaha, its highest single-game total since 2003.

2. The Cardinals have won their last 20 home games vs. non-conference opponents.

3. Mahmoud has 17 blocked shots over his past five games dating back to last season.

PREDICTION: Louisville 80, Southern Illinois 67

Houston Baptist Huskies at Virginia Tech Hokies Preview

With the exception of a one-game blip, Virginia Tech has been one of the most productive offensive teams in the nation in the early part of the season. The Hokies hope to continue that trend when they host Houston Baptist on Tuesday in the final game of the 2K Classic.

After suffering their first defeat of the season - a 77-71 loss to St. Louis on Thursday at Madison Square Garden, the Hokies bounced back to hammer Washington 103-79 the following day. Virginia Tech has reached triple digits in all three of its wins, which have come by an average of 31.7 points. The Hokies ranked third in the nation in scoring (104.2 points), fourth in field-goal percentage (57.3) and sixth in 3-point percentage (47.6 percent) through Sunday. The Huskies lost their first two games in the tournament, falling to Belmont (93-88) and Detroit Mercy (116-109 in overtime).

TV: 7 p.m. ET, ACC Network Extra

ABOUT HOUSTON BAPTIST (1-3): The Huskies like to play an up-tempo game and have four players averaging double digits in points, with guard Braxton Bonds (9.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.8 assists) right on the cusp. The offense runs through the post and big men Josh Ibarra (18 points, 10 rebounds) and David Caraher (16.8, 6.5), but the backcourt duo of Jalon Gates (12.3 points) and freshman Ian DuBose (13.3, 5.8 rebounds) also can fill it up. The Huskies don't shoot particularly well from 3-point range (32.3 percent), but they rely on getting to the foul line as they've shot 107 free throws in four games.

ABOUT VIRGINIA TECH (3-1): The Hokies have five players averaging double digits in points, including three who score at least 19 per game. The backcourt duo of Justin Bibbs (22.5 points) and Ahmed Hill (22, five rebounds) leads the way, while freshman swingman Nickeil Alexander-Walker (19.3 points) is off to a great start to his collegiate career. Hill has gone 15-for-25 from 3-point range to lead a Hokies team that is lighting it up from beyond the arc.

TIP-INS

1. Virginia Tech's three performances of at least 100 points are its most since 1988-89.

2. After outrebounding their first two opponents by 43, the Hokies are minus-9 on the boards in their last two contests.

3. Gates has re-established his career high for scoring in consecutive games with 15 points against Belmont and 18 versus Detroit Mercy.

PREDICTION: Virginia Tech 103, Houston Baptist 86

Bryant Bulldogs at Rutgers Scarlet Knights Preview

Undefeated Rutgers continues the soft non-conference portion of its schedule when it hosts Bryant on Tuesday. The Scarlet Knights have won three of their first four games by at least 25 points.

Steve Pikiell's team was ranked first in the nation in scoring defense entering Monday, allowing 45.5 points per game. Only Central Connecticut State, which Rutgers defeated 71-67, has managed more than 39 points against the defensive-minded Knights. Corey Sanders leads the team in scoring at 11.9 points per game, but was removed from the starting lineup in the last contest. The Bulldogs have been tested with road losses against Georgia and North Carolina State before losing their last game at home against Navy.
TV: 7 p.m. ET, Big Ten Network Plus

ABOUT BRYANT (0-3): The Bulldogs were picked to finish fifth in the Northeast Conference preseason poll and brought back three starters from last year's squad which went 12-20. Adam Grant is one of the returners and he leads the team in scoring 20.7 points. Australian Bosko Kostur went 0-for-8 from the floor in Bryant's season opener, but he's hit 14 of his last 21 attempts and scored a game-high 25 points the Bulldogs' 79-71 loss to Navy.
ABOUT RUTGERS (4-0): Despite the promising results, Pikiell managed to send a message to his star player, Sanders, last game by bringing him off the bench. "I'm really trying to raise our standards in practice; I'm very hopeful that this may motivate him to utilize practice a little bit better," Pikiell said. The only worry about the Knights thus far has been their shooting statistics as they ranked 347th in 3-point shooting percentage (20.5) and 338th from the free-throw line (57.1) among the 351 Division I teams in the nation.

TIP-INS
1. Rutgers F Eugene Omoruyi led the team in scoring with 19 points, eight rebounds and three assists in 25 minutes of a 64-39 victory over Coppin State last time out.
2. Bryant has been hammered on the boards this season, and are pulling down 30 rebounds per game, which was tied for 330th.
3. Rutgers' first seven games are at home.

PREDICTION: Rutgers 70, Bryant 53

Richmond Spiders at Cincinnati Bearcats Preview

It's not often that Gary Clark leads No. 13 Cincinnati in scoring, but he did Monday to send his team to the semifinals of the Cayman Islands Classic, where the Bearcats will play Richmond on Tuesday. Clark had 24 points, one shy of matching his career high, and recorded his 20th career double-double with 14 rebounds as the Bearcats beat Buffalo 73-67 to earn a date against the Spiders.

Clark has been consistent as they come throughout his four seasons with the Bearcats, particularly in the rebounding department, where he's averaged 7.2 boards or better every season. The 6-8 senior forward, who won his 99th game in a Bearcats uniform, has 32 contests with double-digit rebounds. "I'm a huge lead by example guy, whether its diving on the floor or just dominating the whole possession," Clark, who notched his fourth career 20-point game, told the media. "Showing the younger guys that it takes years of putting in the work." Grant Golden put up 26 points as the Spiders earned their first victory of the season 63-50 over UAB in the opening round.

TV: 7:30 p.m. ET, No TV

ABOUT RICHMOND (1-2): Golden scored a total of 19 points in his first two games, including 13 last week against Jacksonville State. The redshirt freshman entered the game with UAB as the Spiders' fourth-leading scorer and left it as their top scorer at 15 points per game. De'Monte Buckingham isn't far behind at 14.3 points per contest while Jacob Gilyard and Nick Sherod gives coach Chris Mooney four players who average double figures.

ABOUT CINCINNATI (4-0): Jarron Cumberland had 14 points and six rebounds, the first time in his career he has scored double figures in four straight games, but also turned the ball over seven times against Buffalo. The sophomore, who averaged 8.3 points as a freshman, was coming off his best game with 19 points and nine rebounds in a victory over Coppin State. Kyle Washington also hit for double figures Monday, and he and Clark combined to make 17-of-19 from the foul line.

TIP-INS

1. The Bearcats, who won 30 games last season, are 99-27 in Clark's four seasons.

2. The winner takes on Wyoming or Louisiana in Wednesday's championship game with the losers playing in the consolation.

3. Cincinnati won all four meetings with Richmond with the last coming in 2001.

Wisconsin Badgers at UCLA Bruins Preview

Wisconsin hopes to avoid a three-game losing streak when it takes on 23rd-ranked UCLA in the consolation game of the Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City on Tuesday. The Badgers started the season with two impressive wins before losing by 10 points to Xavier and seeing their furious rally come up short in a 70-65 setback against 24th-ranked Baylor in Monday's semifinals.

"I saw some good things down the stretch. As they say, if you want to get out of a hole, stop digging," Wisconsin coach Greg Gard told reporters. "Happy with the battle and the willingness to put things on the line to get back in the game." All-American candidate Ethan Happ notched his third double-double in four games for the Badgers, who will need more offensive depth against a UCLA team that is averaging 97 points over its last three contests. The Bruins had four players score at least 15 points in the 100-89 loss to Creighton in Monday's semifinals but allowed the Bluejays to record 57 in the second half and shoot 49.3 percent overall. "Offensively, we clicked. That's great," UCLA junior guard Aaron Holiday, who scored 25 points, told reporters. "We just learned about playing hard defense."

TV: 7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN3

ABOUT WISCONSIN (2-2): The 6-10 Happ finished with 23 points and 13 rebounds against Baylor to raise his averages to 19 and 9.8, respectively, and is shooting 56.6 percent through the team's first four contests. While freshman guard Brad Davison scored 13 points off the bench on Monday, the other four starters aside from Happ were just 5-for-24 from the floor. "We don't have the luxury of guys who have been around a lot of games, like we have the last couple years," Happ told reporters. "We need guys to realize it's going to be a fight from the start."

ABOUT UCLA (3-1): Holiday was 8-for-17 on Monday after shooting just 35.5 percent over the first three games of the season, while leading scorer Kris Wilkes, a 6-8 freshman, added 15 points against Creighton. Sophomore guard Prince Ali stepped up to score 18 points in the semifinals to match his total from the first three games and 7-foot senior Thomas Welsh, who is averaging a double-double (13.8 points, 11.8 rebounds), added 16. Freshman guard Jaylen Hands, who came in averaging 15.4 points, was held to four on 2-of-8 shooting.

TIP-INS

1. Bruins coach Steve Alford needs one victory to reach 100 at the school in his fifth season after totaling 463 with four other programs.

2. Wisconsin sophomore G D'Mitrik Trice is 5-for-21 over his last two games after going 11-for-16 in the first two contests.

3. UCLA freshmen G LiAngelo Ball, F Cody Riley and F Jalen Hill did not make the trip after being arrested for shoplifting on the team's trip to China.

PREDICTION: UCLA 82, Wisconsin 70

Michigan Wolverines at Chaminade Silverswords Preview

After falling into the consolation bracket of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational with a narrow loss to LSU, Michigan looks to bounce back Tuesday against Division II Chaminade at the Lahaina Civic Center. The Wolverines blew a late lead and fell 77-75 to LSU in Monday's first-round game despite a career-high 28 points from junior guard Charles Matthews.

The loss cost Michigan the opportunity to face No. 12 Notre Dame in the semifinals, but there were some bright spots for coach John Beilein's young squad including the play of 6-11 forward Moritz Wagner, who made three 3-pointers and finished with 24 points, seven rebounds and three steals. "Mo is one of the finest young men I've ever coached ever, and that's in 40 years," Beilein told reporters. "He's just a great personality on our team. He wants to win. He loves basketball. Very young still, a 20-year-old junior. But he really has such a huge upside, and pleasure to see every single day whether it's on the court or off the court." Moritz faces his next test against Chaminade, which opened tournament play with Monday's 83-56 loss to Notre Dame.

TV: 8 p.m. ET, ESPN2

ABOUT MICHIGAN (3-1): Matthews, who began his career at Kentucky before sitting out last season, looked like a difference-maker Monday against LSU while making 10 of his 17 shots and grabbing eight rebounds. Beilein is hoping someone takes the lead in the battle at point guard between sophomore Zavier Simpson, graduate transfer Jaaron Simmons and freshman Eli Brooks, but all three struggled against LSU. Beilein is also seeking more consistency from center Jon Teske, a 7-1, 255-pound sophomore who recorded his first career double-double last week but was held scoreless in eight minutes Monday.

ABOUT CHAMINADE (2-1): After opening with wins over Alaska and Alaska Anchorage, the Silverswords trailed Notre Dame by six early in the second half but were unable to keep pace with Fighting Irish seniors Matt Farrell (27 points) and Bonzie Colson (23 points). Forward Erik Scheive had a season-high 17 points while guard Austin Pope added 11 for the Silverswords, who were picked to finish sixth in the Pacific West Conference preseason coaches poll. Forward Brett Reed, one of seven players on the roster listed at 6-7 or taller, made his season debut Monday and had seven rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench.

TIP-INS

1. The winner faces VCU or California in Wednesday's fifth-place game.

2. Chaminade is hosting the Maui Invitational for the 33rd year, with its best finish coming in 1984 when the Silverswords were runner-up to Providence.

3. Michigan is 61-3 when scoring at least 80 points under Beilein.

PREDICTION: Michigan 79, Chaminade 61

10* FREE NCAAB PICK (LSU +8)
The Tigers aren't getting enough respect here against the Irish. Just about everyone had Michigan beating LSU yesterday, but the Tigers won outright 77-75 as a 6-point dog. Getting a win over a quality Notre Dame won't be easy, but I like LSU's chances of making a game of this and covering the big spread. The Tigers made a great hire in the offseason, bringing in Will Wade to be the new head coach and he's got a track record of quickly turning around programs. This certainly looks like a much improved LSU team from the one that won just 10 games and finished the year 1-17 over their final 18 games. A big reason for their fast start is the outstanding play of freshman point guard Tremont Waters, who is averaging 17 ppg, 6 apg and nearly 2.5 steals/game. He was a huge part of the win last night over the Wolverines, scoring 21 points. This is the first real test for Notre Dame, which I think is another plus here for LSU. Give me the Tigers +8!

Both of these teams are clicking offensively right now. They Chicago Bulls have averaged 114 points per game in their last two. The Lakers have averaged 120 points per game in their last two and have scored at least 109 in three straight. The Lakers are averaging 109.1 points at home this season, while the Bulls are giving up 109.1 points on the road, and 112.6 points in their last five. The Lakers are giving up 108 points at home this season. Give me the OVER.

NBA | Bulls vs Lakers
Play on: Lakers -5½ -110 at GTBets

I'm recommending a play on the Lakers minus the points on Tuesday night. Los Angeles draws the worst shooting team in the NBA when the Bulls visit Staples Center. Chicago is making just 41% of their FGA and must find a way to "keep up" with the high scoring Lakers. Los Angeles fills the basket at home, averaging 115.5 ppg in their last six home games. They're +39 on the glass in those outings and have connected on 47.8% of their FGA. Stretch that over the course of the season and the Lakers would be 5th in the league in shooting accuracy. That's scary news for a Bulls' team that has allowed their hosts to make 48% of their FGA and have seen their last five opponents make more than 50% of their shots. The Lakers have won and covered 4 of their last 6 home games and we'll back them here. I'm laying the points with the Lakers on Tuesday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.

1* Free Play on the LA Lakers (10:35 EST).
Both teams have been poor this year. The Bulls come in off a 113-105 loss in Phoenix on Sunday, while LA broke its two game slide with a convincing 127-109 home win over the Nuggets in its latest action.
Chicago simply can’t score, as the Bulls come in averaging only 95.5 PPG. The defense has been decent in conceding only 104.9 per contest. Lauri Markkanen leads the team with 15.6 points plus 4.5 boards per game.
LA averages 105.6 points and concedes 107.5. Brook Lopez is the main man for the Lakers, posting 15.4 points, plus 4.8 boards per game. Rookie Lonzo Ball averages 8.9 points, 7.1 boards and 7.1 assists per game.
I’ll point out though that Chicago is 0-4 ATS in its last four after allowing 100 points or more in its previous contest, while LA is interrestingly 2-1 ATS in its last three after scoring 125 points or more in its previous contest.
I have a hard time seeing the Bulls matching pace down the stretch. Consider laying the points with the Lakers in this matchup.
Good luck…Larry

NBA | Bulls vs Lakers
Play on: Lakers -5½ -110 at BMaker

Jack's Free Pick Tuesday: Los Angeles Lakers -5.5

The Los Angeles Lakers are steadily improving. Lonzo Ball is coming off his second triple-double of the season in one of the Lakers' best performances of the year in a 127-109 upset as 5-point underdogs over the Denver Nuggets. I look for them to play well again tonight against the lowly Chicago Bulls.

The Bulls are arguably the worst team in the NBA this season with their lack of talent and experience. Chicago has gone 3-11 overall, including 1-7 on the road. They are getting outscored by 9.4 points per game overall on the season. They are really struggling to get buckets, averaging just 95.5 points per game on 41.4% shooting.

The Bulls are giving up 109.1 points per game on 47.9% shooting in road games. The Lakers have played much better at home, and they are scoring 109.1 points per game on 46.7% shooting at Staples Center this season. They are averaging 120.0 points per game in their last two and should continue rolling offensively tonight.

The Bulls are 0-5 ATS in their last five vs. Western Conference opponents. Chicago is 1-4 ATS in its last five games overall. The Lakers are 4-1 ATS in their last five vs. NBA Central Division foes. Bet the Lakers Tuesday.

NHL | Oilers vs Blues
Play on: Oilers +125 at 5Dimes

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach Free Pick NHL Tuesday Edmonton Oilers Money Line (+) @ St Louis Blues @ 8:05 ET - The Oilers seek revenge for a 4-1 home loss to the Blues last week. St Louis also has a huge divisional game versus the Predators on deck. Edmonton has been struggling this season and come into this one off of back to back losses. However, the Oilers are on a perfect 3-0 run the last 3 times they've entered a game off of consecutive losses. In other words, odds are good that Edmonton again "stops the bleeding" by getting back on track with an upset win over the Blues tonight. St Louis is playing well but this is their first game back on home ice after a successful 3-game road trip. A lot of time that first game back is the toughest and I expect that to prove to again be the case here. The Blues are tied with the Lightning for most wins in the NHL while the Oilers have more wins than only 2 teams in the entire league. Only the Sabres and Coyotes have fewer wins than Edmonton so far this season. In other words, how can the Oilers be such a small dog here on the road at St Louis given those facts? Exactly! Think about that for a second and don't fall into what will prove to be a trap line for most public bettors! Free Pick on EDMONTON OILERS

Play on: George Mason +5 -110 at Bovada

Dave's Tuesday Free Play:

1* on George Mason +5

The Key: George Mason returned 3 starters from last year and should be improved in 2017. They have opened 3-1 with their only loss coming 61-72 at Louisville as 19-point dogs, giving the Cardinals all they could handle. Louisiana Tech is 3-0, but a 96-95 home win over SE Missouri State as 18.5-point favorites is a disturbing result and one that shows they are overrated in the early going. I think George Mason is probably the better team here and we're getting 5 points with them on a neutral court. George Mason is 10-2 ATS in its last 12 vs. teams who allow 42% or less shooting. The Bulldogs are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 neutral site games. Take George Mason.

Free Pick on Lakers -
I like the value here with Los Angeles laying what I feel is a short number here against the Bulls on Tuesday. Chicago is just 1-7 in 8 road games this season and are getting outscored by just over 9 points/game away from home. While the Lakers have been up and down of late, they come in off an impressive 127-109 win at home over the Nuggets as a 5-point underdog and I look for them to build off that strong showing against a bad Bulls team.
This isn't exactly a great spot for Chicago, who has been on the move non-stop in November. This will their 10th game in November and the 7th of those on the road. They have played just 3 at home and all 3 were sandwiched around road games. Bulls are also 0-5 ATS in their last 5 against the Western Conference.
I look for the Lakers to take control of this one early and cruise to a double-digit win on their home floor. Take Los Angeles!

Go for Lakers tonight in this game. Neither team is all that good but the Lakers have a lot more young talent than Chicago does, and they are coming off a 20 point win vs Denver last game and the Bulls lost to the Suns by double digits Sunday, and are 0-4 ATS last 4 games after allowing over 100 points the previous game. Lonzo has two triple doubles in his last 5 games and posted a career best 16 rebounds vs Nuggets. Also Brook Lopez has averaged 20 ppg last two games and while Markkanen has played well, I fully expect the Lakers to handily win this game today.
