USC rushed for 302 yards in beating Stanford, 42-24, back in early September. That's the most yards Stanford has allowed since David Shaw became its coach in 2011. I don't see that happening again in this rematch, which will decide the Pac-12 championship. Stanford hasn't allowed more than 24 points during its last eight games - seven games against Pac-12 opponents in a wide open throwing conference and powerful Notre Dame. During this span, the Cardinal are giving up an average of 15.6 points a game. The Under has won in seven of these last eight Stanford games. Stanford has the pass rushers, particularly senior Harrison Phillips, to bother Sam Darnold and also will be very aware of the run knowing how USC dominated on the ground in the first meeting. Phillips is No. 1 in the country in tackles for losses with 16 1/2. Note, too, that the first meeting was played at USC. This one is at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, which is known for having a very loose and slippery grass field. I see the Trojans doing well on defense also. The Cardinal is now going with redshirt freshman quarterback K.J. Costello. He's averaging 130 yards passing a game. The Cardinal relies heavily on running back Bryce Love, who isn't 100 percent because of an ankle injury. Stanford is very methodical on offense, which runs clock.

San Antonio gives up fewer points per game than all but one team. The Spurs have gone Under in seven of their nine road games this season. Memphis ranks sixth in both defensive scoring and defensive field goal percentage. The Grizzlies have gone Under in nine of their 11 home contests this season. So there is a clear pattern of Unders involving the home/road breakdowns of these two strong defensive clubs. Now let's get down to the specific matchup. The two teams just met on Wednesday in San Antonio. The Spurs won 104-95. So that was a total of 199 points, which went Over the 195 total. This total opened lower. But for good reason. The teams combined to make 34 of 40 free throws for 85 percent in Wednesday's game. Both are above average free throw shooting teams, but not nearly that good. The Spurs and Grizzlies both shoot 79 percent from the foul line. Memphis made 11 of 22 shots from 3-point range. The Grizzlies rank 29th in 3-point shooting hitting 33 percent. The Spurs shot 50.7 percent from the floor. LaMarcus Aldridge scored a season-high 41 points on 17 of 24 shooting from the field. San Antonio ranks 16th in field goal percentage at 45.6 percent. Aldridge is an outstanding player and he's have a great season. But the Grizzlies aren't going to let him beat them again. Memphis is in desperation mode, losers of nine in a row. This will be their second game under interim coach J.B. Bickerstaff. I can't back the Grizzlies when they don't have Mike Conley, who is out with an Achilles injury. Memphis is averaging 90.6 points in its last six games - all without their star point guard. Tony Parker is back for San Antonio. This is just his third game, though, of the season. So he's still rusty. Put this all together and I believe Under is the way to go.

The opening oddsmakers number in this game has shifted across the key number of three-points and it all has to do with the healthy concerns of running back Bryce Love, who will play and start on Friday night (http://www.investwithsports.com/newforum/x-apple-data-detectors://4).

It is difficult to beat and cover both events in one season, be it in college or the NFL, and a part of the variable that has moved this Pac-12 number is that the Trjons defeated the Cards 42-24 in the first meeting between the conference foes. Yes, USC and Darnold recored 300 yds on the ground and through the air in that win but that was in early September. This game presents a large number of underlying peripherals that shift the power and the venue advantage to the Cardinals. This is a game that carries nothing more than league bragging rights and those rights will go to smarter and more motivated team on Friday night (http://www.investwithsports.com/newforum/x-apple-data-detectors://5), Stanford.

If you are a trend capper, or a gamer that likes to us common opponent comparisons look no further than what Stanford did last weekend versus Notre Dame.

The Terps have been an over team as well in the spot they are in here tonight as they have gone up and over the number in thirteen of their last eighteen games played on a Friday for whatever reason and they are an impressive 5-2-1 to the over in their last eight games versus a team from the Big 10 going back to the end of last season. Throw in the fact that Purdue is 9-2 to the over in their last eleven games overall and that's where we'll have our play as we expect both teams to try and push the pace a bit in Maryland on Friday night.

The Illinois Fighting Illini will look to bounce back from their first loss of the season when they take on the Northwestern Wildcats at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL on Friday night. The Illini have posted a 4-1 ATS record in their last five games following a game where they failed to cover the spread and they have gone an excellent 6-2 ATS in their last eight games where they faced a team with a winning record. The Wildcats, on the other hand, have struggled a bit in the spot they are in here tonight as they have gone just 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall and they have failed to cover the number in their last five head to head meetings with Illinois. Throw in the fact that the underdog is an impressive 8-3 ATS in the last eleven head to head meetings between the two schools and we're going to take the points with them here in a game that we think they have a decent chance to win outright in the Chicago suburbs on Friday night.

3 Unit Play. Take #725 Boise St +7 over Oregon (9:30 PM, Friday, December 1, Pac-12 Network)

Normally this would be a spot where we'd look to fade Boise after their blowout win over Loyola-Chicago in their last game but there are some factors here that have us taking the points with the Broncos when they take on the Oregon Ducks on Friday night. Boise has backcourt featuring Chandler Hutchinson and Justinian Jessup that will give Oregon fits and they have dominated the boards this season, outrebounding their opponents by over 10 rebounds per game. They should also give Oregon, who likes to shoot from long distance, trouble as Boise is allowing teams to shoot just 24% from behind the arc. Throw in the fact that Oregon has gone just 2-6 ATS in their last eight games following a double-digit loss at home and that they have failed to cover the number in eight of their last eleven games where they faced a team with a winning record and we're taking the points here with Boise in a game that we think they can win outright in Eugene on Friday night.

2 Unit Play. Take #731 Towson +2.5 over Lasalle (2:00 PM, Friday, December 1, CBS Sports Network)

The Towson Tigers will look to extend their win streak to seven games after their opening night loss to Old Dominion when they take on the Lasalle Explorers at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Friday afternoon. The Tigers have posted a perfect 5-0 ATS record in their last five non-conference games and they have gone an excellent 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine games following a straight up win. The Explorers, on the other hand, have struggled a bit in the spot they are in here as they have gone an awful 1-8 ATS in their last nine games where they faced a team with a winning record and they have failed to cover the number in 20 of their last 28 games where they faced a team with a winning % of .500 or better. Throw in the fact that Lasalle is 1-4 ATS in their last five games versus a CAA team while the Tigers are 4-1 ATS in their last five when facing a team from the Atlantic 10 and we're going to take the bucket or so here with Towson to get the win and cover in Northern Ireland on Friday afternoon.

The Bradley Braves will look to extend their win streak to five games when they take on the Eastern Illinois Panthers at Carver Arena in Peoria, IL on Friday night. The Braves have posted a perfect 3-0-1 ATS record in their last four games following a straight up win and they have gone an excellent 4-1 ATS in their last five games where they faced a team from the Ohio Valley Conference. The Panthers, on the other hand, have struggled a bit in the spot they are in here tonight as they have gone just 1-4 ATS in their last five games following an ATS win and they are an awful 16-34-1 ATS when facing a team with a winning % of .600 or better. Throw in the fact that the Braves are 19-6-1 ATS in their last 26 home games and 13-3-1 ATS in their last seventeen games overall and we're going to lay the points with them here in a game that we have them winning by double digits at home on Friday night.

We have been high and profitable on betting the UNDER in San Jose games and tonight we continue to cash Sharks totals. San Jose is 5-17 O/U this year and last month in San Jose the Panthers won 2-0 and that game flew UNDER. San Jose played Tuesday night on the road and beat the Flyers 3-1 and backup Sharks goalie Aaron Dell was in the net for that game. Dell (3-3-1, 2.06 GAA, .924 SVPCT) will be in the net tonight for the Sharks and his last 4 starts 3 of them have gone UNDER. The Panthers will have Roberto Luongo in the net tonight and his last 6 starts all 6 of them have gone UNDER. San Jose 1-7 O/U against Eastern Conference teams and the Panthers are 0-4 O/U against Western Conference teams.

American Airlines Arena tonight welcomes the struggling Charlotte Hornets and the Hornets come to South Beach losers of 9 out of their last 12 games. Miami has won 3 out 5 games and their last home game they beat Boston 104-98 and I see the Heat continuing to win games. The Hornets have struggled in road games going 1-9 SU and their defense has been shaky giving up an average of 108.1ppg on the road. Look for Miami to keep the tempo fast and in the second half I see the Heat taking control of this game. Charlotte is 2-10-1 ATS in their last 13 road games and the favorite in this series is 4-1 ATS.

5-Unit Play. Take #701 Detroit (-1) over Washington (7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 1)

The Wizards are still playing solid basketball in John Wall's absence, but this is a tough spot for them due to Avery Bradley. Typically Bradley works against Wall on the defensive end of the floor, but with Wall out, he can now focus more on Bradley Beal. This in turn is going to hinder the Wizards offensive flow. With Bradley causing all sorts of issues for Washington on the defensive end of the floor, the Pistons will be able to focus on getting the ball to both Andre Drummond and Tobias Harris offensively. Look for those two to have monster games and for Detroit to win this game by 8-10 points. Detroit is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 road games while Washington is just 3-8 ATS in their last 11 home games. Take the road team in this one as the Pistons come away with the outright win.
