This will sound familiar as it’s simply a cut and paste from the last 4 or 5 games in which I’ve taken the Clippers, who keep covering the spread for me.

I’ve been riding the Clippers lately, as I have them pegged as an underrated team based on my player-specific ratings. LAC is 11-1-1 ATS in their last 13 games and the Clippers are clearly a better than average team right now. My ratings favor LAC by 3 ½ points over Oklahoma City even though I didn’t apply a full home court advantage because the Thunder didn’t travel and didn’t need to play their starters in the 4th quarter last night. The Thunder are just 21-17 straight up and while they have been improved the last month or so they are still no better than what I rate the Clippers right now. My ratings favor the Clippers by 3 ½ points in this game and so far I’ve been proven correct in identifying the Clippers as an underrated team and I’m on them again tonight. I’ll take the Clippers in a 2-Star Best Bet at -1 or better.

I think this is a great situation for the home team. The spread on this game has moved from 1.0 to 2.5 so that tells me where the sharp money is going. Southern Mississippi is trying to rebuild their program slowly. They are improving. The Eagles are a perfect 5-0 at home this year and the home team has gone 18-4 ATS in the last 22 meetings between these two teams. Southern Miss is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games overall and the home team has won 11 straight in this series. I see all those trends for the home team continuing. UTEP saw its coach quit last month and now they are without their best player, Keith Frazier, who left the team. This team is not good enough to overcome those losses. UTEP has played nine straight home games and Southern Miss has played four straight on the road. I think that Southern Miss is going to get a big bump by playing at home and I think that UTEP is going to struggle in its first road conference game. Play the Eagles in this one.

Green Bay is the better of these two teams here and should be favored in this contest. The Phoenix added a huge transfer in Sandy Cohen five games ago and are a much better team with Cohen on the floor. Green Bay pulled off a big upset beating a very solid Oakland University team a few games and did so as 10 point underdogs in the game led as Cohen put up a double-double in the game with 17 points and 10 rebounds to go along with 3 blocks, 3 steals and 4 assists in the game. They come in off a hard fought loss in their last game but much of that was due to bad luck as they hit just 1 out of 17 three point attempts in the game. Overall Green Bay has been the much better of these two basketball programs having beaten Cleveland State 11 of the last 12 times they've faced them and finishing ahead of the each of the past 5 seasons in the Horizon League.

This pick falls into one of my top NHL systems and the Leafs have not lost 4 straight in a row this season, so I expect a tremendous effort from them tonight. The Leafs are 4-1 in their last 5 home games when playing a team with a winning record on the road and they are 5-2 in their last 7 games against a Pacific opponent. The Sharks have won 4 of their last 5 games, however only 1 of those wins was against what I consider a quality opponent and the Leafs have dropped 3 straight so they come into this game hungry for the win tonight against a team who has had their number in the past. The Leafs have one of the best power-plays in the NHL at home converting at 23.7% with the extra-man and their penalty-kill has been solid over their last 5 games with opponents converting just 10.5% against them. The Sharks have averaged just 2.6 gpg on the road this season while the Leaf have averaged 3.2 gpg at home and the Leafs are 2-0 this season after 3 consecutive losses winning those game by 3-1 and 8-1. Play Toronto ML as we move to 27-12 the last 52 days with my NHL plays.
