4-Unit Play. #713. Take Sacramento Kings +14.5 over Houston Rockets (Wednesday @ 8:05pm est)
Let's look to make it a 5-1 Run today in the NBA. If you are the Sacramento Kings, what do you have to play for? Not much. You are not going to the Playoffs and it is not often that you are relevant. Tonight however, they are relevant. And, they get to face a team who is contending for the title and they face 2 first ballot hall of famers in Chris Paul and James Harden. This Kings team has been playing better and getting rid of George Hill for their youth movement teamed up with their veterans has been good for this team. This is a Kings team that has done well of late and they are playing hard. They just went on the road and beat Dallas 114-109 as a 7 point underdog, they hung in there against Minnesota and lost by 5 as a 13 point underdog, they beat Chicago earlier this year at home, beat New Orleans on the road as a 9 point underdog and beat Miami and Orlando Outright on the road as well. Let's roll with the Kings here as they lost by just 5 to this team earlier this year, playing high quality basketball and with the Rockets having Minnesota on deck and likely looking slightly ahead, we like the Kings to hang in there and likely do well today.


4-Unit Play. #768. Take Auburn -9.5 over Kentucky (Wednesday @ 9pm est)
This one might get ugly. Do you know why Auburn is such a heavy favorite today? They lost by 20 to this Kentucky team the last time they played them and Bruce Pearl has out "Kentucky'ed" Kentucky. They have done a fantastic job recruiting and though there are some sanctions and this team is being investigated, they understand that they have a small window to do well here. This is a team that that is 6th in the nation in offensive efficiency, top 30 in 3 point field goals and top 40 in defense. They have revenge, they lost at home in their last game to Texas A&M by 1 point which has to irk them and they likely bounce-back in a big way against Kentucky today at home. Plus, Auburn gets to make a point to Kentucky that there is a changing of the guard here and they will want to take this opportunity, on national television to make a very clear statement today. Auburn is ranked 11th in the nation for a reason, Kentucky is 0-4 ATS of late in the SEC and Auburn is 6-1 ATS against the SEC and 5-1 ATS at home as well and with Kentucky struggling to hold on the ball as they are outside the top 200 in turnover margin, this could end up being a blowout in a big way today.

2-Unit Play. Take #727 Iowa (+12) over Michigan (6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14)
Iowa stinks and has been terrible on the road this year. But I still think they will cover this game. Michigan is off an easy win at Wisconsin on Sunday and has a huge rivalry game on deck with Ohio State. Michigan is generally not great in the favorite role and Iowa is due to accidentally cover one on the road.

2-Unit Play. Take #737 St. Joseph's (-4) over Fordham (7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14)
This St. Joseph's team is better than its record. They have a ton of close losses this year and this team has been a big-time underachiever. But they have dominated this series, going 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games against Fordham. The Rams are really in the first year of Jeff Neubauer's rebuild, as last year he was able to build on a veteran foundation. This team hasn't exactly responded this year and I think they are going to have their modest two-game winning streak snapped.

3-Unit Play. Take #742 Florida State (-4) over Clemson (7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14)
The Seminoles were overachieving after their great start to the year. Now they have fallen on some hard times, but I think they will get one back here. FSU had a draining home loss to Virginia last week followed by a letdown spot against resurgent Notre Dame. The Noles are now in a spot where they could really use a win and they should be able to get it against an overrated Clemson team. The fact that the unranked team is favored over the ranked team here is a red flag. So is the fact that Clemson really has just one impressive win - at home over shaky North Carolina - in the last month. The Tigers are not the same team without Donte Grantham and I think that will come back and bit them here against a tough, desperate FSU squad.

2-Unit Play. Take #746 Providence (+9.5) over Villanova (7 p.m.., Wednesday, Feb. 14)

2-Unit Play. Take #767 Kentucky (+9.5) over Auburn (9 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14)
I have been riding Auburn for a while this season and we were on that bandwagon early. However, I think that Kentucky is going to find a way to hang around in this game. The Wildcats aren't used to the underdog role. And after getting rolled at A&M over the weekend I have a hard time seeing Kentucky getting blown out twice. This game reminds me a bit of when the Wildcats went to Morgantown as a huge underdog and beat West Virginia. They won't win this game. But I think they can keep from getting embarrassed.
2-Unit Play. Take #773 St. John's (-1) over DePaul (9 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14)
The Blue Demons played out of their minds and pulled a big upset over Providence over the weekend. I don't see that happening again. St. John's is on a heater. And it is really not that big of a fluke because this Red Storm team is a lot better than its record suggests. They have been victimized by some tough injuries and a brutal schedule. But they are clicking right now and should get win No. 4 in a row.

2-Unit Play. Take #777 N.C. State (+5.5) over Syracuse (9 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14)
The Orange pulled out an absolutely garbage cover in their last game against Wake Forest, turning a three-point lead with a minute to play into an 8-point win that covered by a half-point. This is still a garbage team and I will gladly bet against them any time that they are favored. This team has faced the second-easiest schedule in the ACC and they are overrated right now. Yes, N.C. State is coming off an emotionally draining loss to rival North Carolina. But I think this team is more angry than disappointed. I think they can pull the upset here.

7...Unit Play. #773 Take St. John's (-1) over DePaul (9 p.m., Wednesday, February 14)

We're going to show St. John's some love on Valentine's Day. We're full steam ahead on this Johnnies bandwagon, albeit on a game-by-game basis. We cashed St. John's over the weekend with a 4U win as they beat Marquette, and we feel just as good with them knocking off DePaul in Chicago tonight. Right now this team is on it's 'A' game. They responded with a positive win after back-to-back wins over Duke and Villanova. I think it continues here. Yes, the Red Storm are still in last place in the Big East, but overall DePaul has the worst record in the conference, the only team in the league with a losing record. St. John's is getting all-world play from Shamorie Ponds. The sophomore guard is averaging over 34 points per game during this three-game win streak, including a 44-point slurge against Marquette this past Saturday. But it's not just a one man show. St. John's has three other players scoring 11 points per game. I just think this one is pretty simple. Right now in this moment this team is locked in and playing their best basketball of the season. DePaul isn't very good and has rolled over most of this season in conference play. There is a reason the Red Storm are favored on the road. Overall this is a tested team with an RPI of 65, having played 12 games against the RPI Top 50. DePaul's standing is nearly double at 161, and they are 2-12 against RPI Top 100 teams. The hot play of St. John's continues with a good win in Chicago. Johnnies by nine!!

When will teams learn that Jahlil Okafor is the NBA’s worst player? Okafor had the NBA’s worst plus-minus in his first two seasons and the 76ers became a decent team starting last season when they benched Okafor. The Sixers finally realized that Okafor just looks like a decent player when he’s actually horrible. This season the 76ers were outscored by 21 points in just 25.3 minutes Okafor was on the court before trading him to the Nets, who sat him at first and continued to play well. However, Brooklyn has had Okafor in the rotation the last month or so and they’ve been outscored by 141 points in just 283.4 minutes with Okafor in the game (-23.9 points per 48 minutes). Getting D’Angelo Russell back from injury hasn’t helped either, as the Nets started playing well when Russell was injured earlier this season and are now playing poorly with him back in the rotation, which is reflected in Russell’s -9.0 points per 48 minutes plus-minus (-107 points in 569.5 minutes).

Brooklyn had the league’s best spread record before Okafor starting getting minutes and now the Nets are on a 1-10 straight up run (4-7 ATS) and my ratings favor the Pacers by 7 ½ points in this game. Indiana is 31-20 ATS with Victor Oladipo playing, including 4-0 ATS without injured PG Darren Collison and 4-1 ATS as a road favorite, and I’ll take Indiana in a 2-Star Best Bet at -4 points or less.
