2-Unit Play. Take #822 Georgia Southern (-1) over Georgia State (9 p.m., Friday, Feb. 16)
Georgia Southern has been reeling. But this is their biggest game of the year. They are at home against their hated in-state rival and this is the one that they need to get to turn their season around heading into March. The home team has absolutely dominated this series, winning 10 straight. The host is also 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings. Southern obviously has revenge for a 17-point bludgeoning that they took in Atlanta in the first meeting. And now it is time to return the favor. Georgia State just had a 10-game winning streak snapped last week with a loss at Louisiana-Monroe. Generally when teams have a long streak like that snapped they generally have a letdown in their next game as well. I'll go with the home team here.

Make that back to back winners as we go for for a season high today at +$7200 if we are able to win today. We roll with Georgia State here as they hook up against Georgia Southern in what should be a good spot for State to do well. Remember you have a sort of a in-state rivalry here between these two teams who are both from the Sun-Belt. Georgia State is the more well known team due to Run Hunger and State's heroics in recent years. This team gets great talent out of the heart of Atlanta and Hunter is a fantastic coach that nurtures his players very well. This team already beat Southern earlier this year by double-digits and make no mistake, there is a recruiting war here at times between these two teams as Southern is from South Georgia. Georgia State wants to take a season sweep to help establish its core of recrutiing in Georgia as they keep moving up and Ron Hunter at some point will get the call for a promotion. State is a top 100 defense, top 70 in effective field goal percentage, top 75 in turnover margin and top 40 in 3 point shooting. This team comes off a home loss to Louisiana Monroe in overtime which we love and they will be angry coming into this game. This is the same team that nearly beat Ole Miss and Dayton on the road and Southern is outside the top 270 in effective field goal percentage and outside the top 260 in 3 piont field goals as well. Let's go with the more consistent team who will be angry off a loss as they likely get it done this evening.

This is for first place in the Horizon Conference as Northern Kentucky has a one game lead but if Wright State wins tonight it puts them in a tie and Wright State would own the tiebreaker having sweeping the season series. Northern Kentucky is 11-2 at home with one of their two losses coming against Wright State. It must be noted that in that 84-81 home loss Wright State shot a ridiculous 56% from the field. I don’t see Wright State having that same kind of success in the rematch tonight as over the last five games they have struggled shooting 42% or less from the field in four of those five games. N. Kentucky gets revenge and sole possession of 1st place. My numbers have N. Kentucky winning by 5-7 points.
