Purdue has able to survive without Isaac Haas against Butler but I do not believe they will be able to do that for a second game. Texas Tech was red hot during the nonconference portion of the season before struggling with injuries down the stretch in Big 12 play. They are healthier now and I believe they will advance to the Elite 8. Purdue has not had any success in this round lately usually getting blown out in the Sweet 16. Texas Tech is 7-2 ATS (1 push) in their last 10 games against Big 10 teams. Purdue is 3-12 ATS (1 push) in their last 16 games overall.

4 Unit Play. Take #878 Kansas -5 over Clemson (7:05p.m., Friday March 23 CBS) Nobody seems to benefit more from neutral site tournament locations than does Kansas. For some reason Omaha is hosting the Midwest Region and the Jayhawk faithful will flock to this site. Clemson is in unfamiliar territory having not advanced this far in quite some time. They played a perfect game against Auburn last time out, but I question if they can do that again on Friday. Sooner or later the loss of Donte Grantham will catch up with them. Clemson is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games against Big 12 teams. Kansas is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games against ACC teams. Everyone wants Duke vs Kanas in the Elite 8 and I expect the public to get what they want, as the Jayhawks roll in this game.

This is going to be a really fun game to watch objectively. But I think Purdue will offer too much. Texas Tech is so good defensively and they really play well as a unit. But I love this Boilermakers team and think their best basketball is better than the best of what the Red Raiders can offer on this big stage. Matt Painter has been waiting for a team like he has now for a run to the Final Four. I think this year very well may be the one to make that happen. Purdue into the weekend for another game.

Take Clemson ATS as my 5-Unit CBB Smash for Friday night. This pick falls into one of my top CBB systems and I have this game coming down to the final possession tonight. Clemson only has 3 losses this season against opponents with an RPI 51 to 100 and Kansas has 5. Two of those losses for Kansas were by 16+ points, while two of those losses for Clemson were by 2 points or less. Clemson hasn't really got a lot of respect yet in this Tournament but they have the type of team that can upset Kansas tonight. Clemson has shot 75.5% as a team from the line this season which will be a factor when this game is close at the end tonight. The Tigers are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 non-conference games and 13-1 SU in their last 14 non-conference games. The Tigers are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games after putting up more than 79 points in their previous game and they are also 8-1 SU in this situation. Kansas had trouble with TCU this season a team that Syracuse who finished 10th in the ACC beat in this Tournament, so how exactly is Kansas going to do against one of the best teams out of the ACC. The ACC has 4 teams left in the NCAA Tournament for a reason, and that reason will become clear when Clemson pulls off the upset tonight against an over-rated Jayhawks team from the Big 12. Play Clemson ATS as we move to 13-7 my last 20 CBB plays.

Both teams had dominating starts to the NCAA Tournament as both teams beat their opponents by double-digits. West Virginia is known for their tough defense but tonight I see the Wildcats offense being too much for the Mountaineers. Nova was impressive against Alabama last Saturday beating them 81-58 and tonight I see the Nova Wildcats taking control of the tempo and I see them advancing to the Elite 8. West Virginia is 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games against Big East teams and the Wildcats are 8-1 ATS when playing on a neutral site game.

Purdue beat Butler without Isaac Haas but tonight I see the Texas Tech Red Raiders taking control of this game and shocking the Purdue Boilermakers. Texas Tech team defense was outstanding against Florida last Saturday and yes I know the Gators shot only 39.7 percent from the field but that was because of the defense of the Red Raiders. Purdue has struggled to cover games going 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 games and with Purdue again playing without their big stud Haas I see the Red Raiders taking the lead in the second half and not looking back. Texas Tech is 7-3 ATS against non-conference games and the Boilermakers are 1-10 ATS following a SU win.

Three nights ago we had the Blazers/Rockets over and tonight this game reminds us of the same scenario. The Blazers offense has been on cruise control as of late hitting the century mark at will and tonight at home I see another big offensive game by the Blazers. If the Celtics want to hang around tonight on the road they will need to keep up the scoring with the Blazers. The Celtics are coming off a big home win 3-nights ago at home against the Thunder winning 100-99 and tonight I see this total flying over. Portland is 4-1 O/U when playing on 2-Days of rest and the Celtics are 5-2 O/U following a SU win.

Mountaineers (+) over Wildcats- I have to admit the two squads that I though could win it all along has been Villanova and Duke so it takes a lot for me to come against who I believe may be the eventual champion. So here I am, with this West Virginia that can beat anybody but often fall apart in important matchups and I believe this fits the bill. But the Wildcats have had a pair of walk-over wins against Radford and Alabama and will be tested with Bob Huggins 'Press Virginia' for 40 intense minutes. Trends on not on the mountaineers side as they are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 against the Big East and Villanova is 9-4 ATS in their last 13 versus the Big-12. Everybody 'knows' that! Yep...take WEST VIRGINIA!
