His stablemate, #1 LIGHT THE VOW, is the overall pace profile leader in this field sprinting at today's "specialized distance" of 7.0 furlongs on the turf.

#1 COLOR ME SEXY (ML=4/1)

COLOR ME SEXY - That last work tells me this mare is set for a top effort. This jockey/trainer duo has been producing a very profitable ROI, right at +240. Speed is always important in horse racing, but the lone speed horse is always dangerous. This front running sort is running a shorter distance today. Should help her winning probability. I think this mare is coming into top form.

Vulnerable Contenders: #3 EVEN BETTE (ML=2/1), #4 BIG MOMMA (ML=3/1), #2 OUR PRINCESS BELLE (ML=6/1),

EVEN BETTE - This mare hasn't had any recent favorable outcomes in short distance affairs. Difficult to play her in this event. Mediocre speed figure last out at Parx Racing at 6 furlongs. Don't believe this less than sharp equine will improve too much in today's race. BIG MOMMA - Probably won't make much of a mark today. OUR PRINCESS BELLE - Hard to bet on any mount to turn things around if there is no reward to taking the risk. This mare hasn't had any on the board results in short distance contests in the last sixty days.

Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: The Brain - COLOR ME SEXY - Racing pattern would suggest this horse is fit for today's race. Should do well.

RECOMMENDED CHOICES

# 4 ROSE OF SICILY 8/5

# 6 FROSTY ZEN 5/2

# 3 LITTLE NELL 4/1

I think ROSE OF SICILY is a quite good choice. Should best this group of animals here, showing quite good figs of late. Is a solid choice - given the 60 speed rating from her most recent race. Strong average speed figures in dirt sprint races make this animal a solid choice. FROSTY ZEN - Has run solidly when racing a dirt sprint race. Could beat this group given the 52 Equibase Speed Fig put up in her last outing. LITTLE NELL - McCabe is serious with this one, wheeling her back in next to no time. Had one of the top Speed Figures of this group in her last race.

# 4 PRINCESA BLANCA 7/2

# 3 LUCKY GIRASOL 4/1

# 5 TWO WAY ROAD 9/5

PRINCESA BLANCA appears to be the bet in here. Has to be given consideration here on the basis of the figures in the speed section alone. Could beat this field given the 52 speed figure put up in her last outing. This lot is much softer than the last one she ran against. LUCKY GIRASOL - A solid 79 avg Equibase class figure may give this filly a distinct class edge against this field. Could provide positive returns based on quite good recent Equibase Speed Figures with an average of 51. TWO WAY ROAD - This field of horses is much softer than the last one she was up against. This filly could improve with second time Lasix.

#3 ARGENTUM PUTEUS (ML=8/1)
#8 FIRST AND GOAL (ML=4/1)

ARGENTUM PUTEUS - Have to like the early speed on this one. No one else may even be close. Dominguez rode this thoroughbred for the initial time last time out and comes right back this race. Entered last at Presque Isle Downs in a race with a class rating of 77. Dropping significantly in Equibase class figure this time out puts him in a solid position right here. FIRST AND GOAL -

Vulnerable Contenders: #1A KIOWA CAN (ML=3/1), #1 WAR OR PEACE (ML=3/1), #2 KING MING (ML=9/2),

KIOWA CAN - This horse hasn't shown too much in the last pair of races. WAR OR PEACE - This favorite may be out of form without any recent works. This colt finished out of the money on May 14th and wasn't even close last time around the track either. KING MING - I'd like to see more conducive recent showings with morning line odds of 9/2. The rating in the last race doesn't fit very well in this race when I look at the class rating of today's race. Mark this entrant as a possibly overvalued equine.

Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - FIRST AND GOAL - I start with the classiest thoroughbred in the field then work my way down. This one's got the top earnings per start. No need to look further.

Play on: Mariners +179 at 5Dimes

Jack’s Free Pick Wednesday: Seattle Mariners +179
The Seattle Mariners suffered a rare loss last night to the Yankees. They will be highly motivated to bounce back wth a victory in Game 2 tonight, and I love the value we are getting with them here.
Felix Hernandez has returned to form of late and just has a knack for shutting down the Yankees. In fact, Hernandez has allowed 2 earned runs or fewer in eight of his last nine starts against the Yankees, including one run or fewer in six of those.
I think the oddsmakers are giving Jonathan Loaisga too much respect here tonight. He has only made one start this season and it came against the light-hitting Rays. He will face a much stiffer test here against the Mariners, who are 46-27 on the season.
The Mariners are 20-6 in their last 26 vs. a right-handed starter. Seattle is 35-17 in its last 52 games overall. The Mariners are 8-3 in Hernandez’s last 11 road starts. Bet the Mariners Wednesday.

The Key: I like the price we are getting with the Atlanta Braves as road underdogs to the Toronto Blue Jays today. Anibal Sanchez has resurrected his career in Atlanta this season. He has gone 3-0 with a 1.93 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in 6 starts. The Braves are 5-0 in Sanchez’s last 5 starts. Atlanta is 6-0 in its last 6 interleague road games vs. a team with a losing record. The Braves are 6-1 in their last 7 games overall. The Blue Jays are 0-4 in their last 4 home meetings with the Braves. Take Atlanta.

MLB | Mets vs Rockies
Play on: Rockies -102 at GTBets

My free play is on the Col Rockies at 8:40 ET.
Historically, Coors Field has been a tough place for visiting teams but that hasn't been the case in 2018. The Rockies lost 12-2 on Monday in their series opener against the NY Mets. The defeat extended their franchise-record home losing streak to eight games and dropped their home record to 11-20 in 2018.
Colorado snapped that eight-game home slide last night with a 10-8 victory over New York, highlighted by a six-run third inning. Nolan Arenado, Trevor Story and Ian Desmond hit consecutive HRs in the breakout inning, marking the eighth time in franchise history Colorado had hit three HRs in a row and first time since May 27, 2010. The Rockies were 30-25 on the morning of May 30 but have since lost 13 of their last 18 games to fall five games back in the NL West at 35-38. The Mets had their three-game winning streak halted last night and fell to 3-5 on the team's current 10-game road trip. New York's 11-1 start to the 2018 season is solidly in the rear view mirror these days, as the 31-39 Mets are 11 games out of first in the NL East.
Seth Lugo (2-2, 2.49 ERA) will take the mound for the Mets and will he'll be opposed by the Rockies' Chad Bettis (5-1, 4.65 ERA). Lugo will be making his his third straight start and fourth overall in place of the injured Noah Syndergaard. Lugo suffered his first loss while in the rotation on Friday, when he was reached for five runs on eight hits over five innings at Arizona in a 7-3 D'backs win. Lugo came out of the bullpen to toss three scoreless innings against Colorado back on May 4, and is 1-0 with a 3.55 ERA in one start and two relief appearances versus the Rockies during his career. Bettis may have a 5-1 overall record in 2018 but he has surrendered five runs in each of his last four starts for an 8.44 ERA. Amazingly, he is 1-0 in that span (team is 2-2). Bettis is 1-0 with a 4.05 ERA in three career starts and one relief appearance against the Mets, with the win coming back on May 5 of this season when he scattered six hits over seven scoreless innings in New York.
The Mets were 24-19 in late May but enter the third contest of this four-game series having won just seven of their last 27 games. Yes, the Rockies have been surprsingly awful at home this season but that almost HAS to change. Colorado's Bettis gave up five runs in the first inning in his last outing but he went on to pitch 4.2 scoreless innings, a span in which he allowed two singles and retired 12 of the final 13 batters he faced with six strikeouts. The Rockies erupted for six runs in the second inning of that contest and went on to win 9-5 to give Bettis his first victory after six straight no-decisions. He had not won since May 5 at Citi Field when he worked seven scoreless innings against the Mets. Considering that, I'm on Colorado, which will win two in a row for the first time since June 5 and 6.
Good luck...Larry

The Rangers and the Royals just have a knack for playing UNDER the total. The Rangers won 4-1 yesterday, which easily stayed under the 9-run total. Now we’re getting a total of 9.5 for Wednesday and it’s simply too high. The UNDER is 34-12-6 in the last 52 meetings. The UNDER is 31-15-5 in the last 51 meetings in Kansas City. The UNDER is 7-0 in Royals last seven games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30. The UNDER is 25-10-2 in Royals last 37 vs. a team with a losing record. The UNDER is 7-1 in Rangers last eight road games. Give me the UNDER.

Brewers/Pirates 7:05: Good value with a series that has gone 1-9-1 O/U in Pittsburgh. Brewers have been "under" machines on the road vs righty starters at 15-46-1 O/U. Tonight, Brewers face a pretty good righty in Chad Kuhl. Kuhl has pitched well this month but an unlucky loser. He's 0-5 O/U in his last 5 starts. Brewers counter with Brent Suter who's done very well against the Pirates in his career; moreover, the Brewers' bullpen sports a superb 2.74 ERA and a big reason for Milwaukee's road success. And behind the plate umpire Wendelsledt has a reputation for a big strike zone. He's currently at 2-8 O/U in his last 10 appearances and 2-5 O/U in Pittsburgh games. Under it is!

Tigers vs. Reds Preview and Predictions

by Gracenote on 06/19/2018

the detroit tigers continue to have issues in interleague play, a trend they will try to reverse when they cap a two-game series at the cincinnati reds on wednesday. a 9-5 loss to the reds in tuesday's opener left the tigers with a 1-6 mark against national league teams, compared to 35-32 versus the american league.

detroit won a season-high five straight and had a chance to reach .500 before it was blanked over the first eight innings tuesday night, picking up five runs in the ninth to make it mildly interesting. tucker barnhart was 3-for-3 and joey votto clubbed a grand slam as cincinnati improved to 24-30 since a 3-15 start that led to the firing of manager bryan price. votto, who needs one game to tie frank robinson (1,502) for eighth place on the reds' all-time list, has 12 rbis over a 10-game stretch. he will be getting his first look at right-hander michael fulmer, who starts for the tigers on wednesday opposite tyler mahle.
tv: 12:35 p.m. et, fs detroit, fs ohio (cincinnati)

pitching matchup: tigers rh michael fulmer (3-5, 4.13 era) vs. reds rh tyler mahle (5-6, 3.96)
fulmer allowed one run on five hits over seven innings in each of his last two starts, picking up a win against minnesota last time out. he yielded one run in 14 frames over two interleague starts - both against pittsburgh - earlier in the year and owns a 2.47 era in seven career outings versus the national league. the 25-year-old, who will be facing cincinnati for the first time, is 12-6 with a 2.50 mark in 27 career starts in day games.
mahle is 2-0 with a 1.10 era in three starts in june, including 6 1/3 scoreless innings at kansas city last wednesday. the 23-year-old has made it through four consecutive outings without giving up a home run after serving up 13 in his previous nine starts. mahle has never faced the tigers but won his first two career interleague starts while giving up just one run in 12 2/3 innings.

walk-offs

1. tigers cf leonys martin was 3-for-3 with two walks in five plate appearances tuesday.
2. reds cf billy hamilton is 5-for-8 with a home run and five runs scored over his last two games.

3. cincinnati recalled rhp jackson stephens from triple-a louisville and optioned rhp austin brice to louisville.

Atlanta Braves vs. Toronto Blue Jays Preview and Predictions 06-20-2018

MLB Previews 19th June 2018 by Gracenote
by Gracenote on 06/19/2018

third base remains a spot where the atlanta braves may try to improve in advance of the trade deadline, but johan camargo continues serving notice he is capable of handling the position entering the finale of a two-game series wednesday at the toronto blue jays. camargo dominated tuesday, belting his first career grand slam and finishing 4-for-5 with a career-best five rbis as the national league east leaders stayed 3 ½ games ahead of second-place washington with an 11-4 win.

camargo, a slick fielder who can play a variety of positions, is hitting .400 in his past seven games with nine rbis as atlanta moved a season-high 14 games above .500. he had plenty of support in the lower part of the lineup, as the braves pounded toronto pitching for 11 hits and 10 runs from the bottom four spots in the batting order. the blue jays saw their seven-game home winning streak snapped thanks in part to finishing 2-for-13 with runners in scoring position, despite hitting six doubles (one off their season high). one of the lone highlights for the blue jays in the opener was catcher luke maile, who ended a 0-for-12 skid with a hit and two rbis.
tv: 12:37 p.m. et, fb-watch
pitching matchup: braves rh anibal sanchez (3-0, 1.93 era) vs. blue jays lh j.a. happ (8-3, 3.48)

sanchez signed with the braves in mid-march after being released by minnesota, and the 34-year-old is an unheralded reason why atlanta is in first place. since rejoining the rotation in late may after missing six weeks with a hamstring injury, sanchez is 2-0 with a 2.31 era and only 14 hits allowed in 23 1/3 innings. sanchez, who struck out six with no walks in seven shutout innings thursday against san diego, went 0-1 with a 10.13 era in two starts against the blue jays last season while pitching with detroit.
happ has flourished in his second tour of duty with toronto - posting a 3.36 era in 71 starts since the beginning of 2016 - and at age 35 is putting together one of the best seasons of his 12-year career. he has not allowed an earned run in his past two starts with just three hits allowed in 12 innings, and is 4-0 with a 1.91 era and a .146 opponents batting average across his past six outings. happ is 3-0 with a 2.42 era in eight career games (seven starts) against atlanta, but has not faced the braves since 2012.
walk-offs

1. toronto 1b justin smoak snapped a 1-for-29 skid with two hits tuesday, and has reached base in 58 of his 65 games this season.

2. atlanta lf charlie culberson homered and made a run-saving catch tuesday, and is hitting .315 since the beginning of may.
3. blue jays c russell martin, who did not play tuesday, has walked in seven consecutive games.

prediction: blue jays 3, braves 2

by Gracenote on 06/19/2018

Matt Carpenter was ice cold to begin the month of June before heating up in a hurry, with homers in three straight games and four of his last five. Carpenter aims to continue the power display on Wednesday afternoon as the St. Louis Cardinals (38-33) and Philadelphia Phillies (38-33) play the rubber match of their three-game series at Citizens Bank Park.

Miami Marlins vs. San Francisco Giants Preview and Predictions 06-20-2018

Carpenter belted the go-ahead homer just inside the right foul pole with two out in the ninth inning of Tuesday's 7-6 triumph to improve to 11-for-25 with eight extra-base hits (six doubles, two homers), six RBIs and as many runs scored versus Philadelphia this season. The 32-year-old hasn't been as fortunate versus struggling Wednesday starter Jake Arrieta, going 3-for-35 with 10 strikeouts. While St. Louis has erupted for 17 runs en route to winning two of three following a four-game skid, Philadelphia saw its bid for a fourth straight victory thwarted as it was unable to escape its third consecutive contest in which its bullpen imploded. Odubel Herrera homered for the third straight game and fourth time in five outings heading into a tilt versus right-hander Michael Wacha, against whom he is 4-for-13 with six RBIs in his career.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Cardinals RH Michael Wacha (8-2, 3.24 ERA) vs. Phillies RH Jake Arrieta (5-5, 3.33)

Wacha is looking to atone for a horrific outing on Friday after surrendering three homers and nine runs total over four-plus innings as he suffered his first loss since March 31 in a 13-5 setback versus the Chicago Cubs. The 26-year-old issued four free passes in that contest to increase his walk total to 13 in his last four trips to the mound after allowing 21 in his previous 10 starts. Wacha improved to 3-2 in his career against Philadelphia after permitting two runs in six innings and striking out a season high-tying eight batters in a 12-4 romp on May 18.

Signed to a three-year, $75 million deal, Arrieta answered a strong 10-start performance out of the blocks with an 0-3 mark and 7.98 ERA in his last three outings. The 2015 National League Cy Young Award winner was blitzed for eight runs on seven hits in 3 1/3 innings of a 13-2 setback at Milwaukee on Friday. Arrieta also fell victim to Wacha and the Cardinals on May 18, yielding four runs (two earned) in three frames to drop to 8-5 with a 2.38 ERA in his 18 career encounters with St. Louis.

Dodgers vs. Cubs Preview and Predictions

by Gracenote on 06/20/2018

After splitting a pair of one-run games to begin the series, the host Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers get back together for the rubber match of their three-game series Wednesday. Both National League contenders used late rallies to claim a victory during Tuesday's doubleheader.

The Dodgers took advantage of Chicago's short-handed bullpen to score two runs in the ninth and claim a 4-3 win in the series opener Tuesday afternoon, but Albert Almora Jr.'s RBI single in the 10th inning lifted the Cubs to a 2-1 victory in the nightcap. Chicago was without closer Brandon Morrow, who was unavailable due to back tightness. The split dropped the Cubs a half-game behind Milwaukee in the NL Central, but they ended a four-game losing streak against the Dodgers in the regular season. Los Angeles has now won 22 of its last 28 and pulled within 1 1/2 games of NL West leader Arizona.

Lester is 2-3 with a 3.89 ERA in seven regular-season meetings against the Dodgers.

Tensions again will be high when the San Francisco Giants host the Miami Marlins on Wednesday afternoon for the finale of their three-game series. Marlins starter Dan Straily was ejected from Tuesday's contest for hitting Buster Posey with a pitch in the second inning after San Francisco's Dereck Rodriguez plunked Lewis Brinson in the top of the frame.

Strickland underwent surgery on Tuesday and will miss six to eight weeks, while the Giants went on to post a 6-3 victory that marked just their second in six games against the Marlins this season. Posey ended a 12-game home-run drought and Gorkys Hernandez added a two-run blast as part of a three-RBI performance for San Francisco, which is just 10-20 at home against Miami since the beginning of the 2010 campaign. boston's rafael devers homered for the second straight game on tuesday and has hit safely in 12 of his last 13 contests, registering a .327 batting average in that span, while slugger j.d. martinez has recorded multiple hits in three of his last five games. david price will try to even the series when he takes the mound for the red sox against veteran lance lynn, who owns a 3.13 era at home as opposed to 6.57 on the road. eduardo escobar brings an eight-game hitting streak (14-for-31, 10 rbis) into wednesday's contest after knocking in three runs in the series opener for the twins, who are 10-7 this month. escobar leads the majors with 31 doubles, including one in the sixth inning on tuesday that brought home a pair of runs, and has raised his batting average to .305.

lynn has been a much better pitcher since posting an 0-3 record and 8.37 era in five april starts to begin his tenure with the twins. the 31-year-old ole miss product has recorded six quality starts in eight outings since may 1, including each of the last five - a stretch during which he allowed seven runs over 31 1/3 innings. mookie betts is 3-for-5 with a homer against lynn, who is 0-1 with a 1.89 era in three career starts versus the red sox.

MLB Previews 20th June 2018 by Gracenote
by Gracenote on 06/20/2018

the tampa bay rays spoiled houston's chances of establishing a new franchise-record winning streak and look to win the three-game series when they visit the astros on wednesday. tampa bay recorded a 2-1 victory on tuesday to end houston's streak at 12 games, which matches the franchise mark set in 1999 and equaled in 2004.

wilson ramos delivered the tiebreaking single in the eighth inning and c.j. cron homered earlier in the contest as the rays improved to 2-4 entering the finale of their seven-game road trip. cron, who was hitless in 23 straight at-bats before the second-inning blast, struck out two times later in the contest and has whiffed 19 times over his last seven games. houston recorded just five hits in its first setback since june 5 and left runners on first and second in the ninth inning. "even after this loss, we're such a fun group that we'll show up (wednesday) and guys will still be cracking jokes and having a lot of fun," astros catcher max stassi told reporters after the loss. "we'll go out there and play hard. we'll be fine."

morton gave up three runs and four hits over six innings to beat kansas city in his last turn and halt a three-start winless stretch. the 34-year-old has issued 10 walks over 9 2/3 frames in his last two outings after walking just six over his previous five starts. morton is 1-2 with a 4.50 era in three career starts against the rays and has experienced difficulties with carlos gomez (6-for-16, homer) and ramos (5-for-13).

MLB Previews 20th June 2018 by Gracenote
by Gracenote on 06/20/2018

after getting outslugged in back-to-back contests, the colorado rockies turned the tables in their last outing. colorado looks to make it two wins in a row for the first time in two weeks when it hosts the new york mets on wednesday for the third contest of their four-game series.

the rockies, who dropped a 13-12 decision at texas on sunday and fell 12-2 a day later in the series opener to extend their franchise-record home losing streak to eight games, snapped a tie tuesday with a six-run third inning and went on to post a 10-8 victory. nolan arenado, trevor story and ian desmond hit consecutive homers in the huge frame, marking the eighth time in franchise history colorado belted three shots in a row and first since may 27, 2010. new york had its three-game winning streak halted and fell to 3-5 on its 10-game road trip as it allowed double digits in runs for the first time since may 26, when it suffered a 17-6 loss at milwaukee. brandon nimmo looks to remain hot for the mets as he's gone 10-for-19 with three homers and seven rbis over his last four contests.
tv: 8:40 p.m. et, sny (new york), at&t sportsnet rocky mountain (colorado)
pitching matchup: mets rh seth lugo (2-2, 2.49 era) vs. rockies rh chad bettis (5-1, 4.65)

bettis has surrendered five runs in each of his last four starts for an 8.44 era but is 1-0 in that span. the 29-year-old texan picked up that victory in his home state on friday despite yielding those five runs on six hits - two homers - and three walks over 5 2/3 innings against the rangers. bettis is 1-0 with a 4.05 era in three career starts and one relief appearance against colorado, with the win coming on may 5 as he scattered six hits over seven scoreless frames in new york.

This game features the 38-33 Cardinals and the 38-33 Phillies. Phillies let one slip by them last night but look to win the series today at home where they are 23-13. Jake Arrieta 5-5 with a 3.33 ERA needs a good start luckily he does very well against the Cardinals as he is 8-5 with a 2.38 lifetime. I think Arrieta will be determined to turn it around today and the Phillies bats will be looking to stay hot. Phillies are just 7-18 in their last 25 against the Cardinals look for them to get one back as we play the Phillies for a 15* winner. ***Don't forget to be on Chase's bug high roller platinum club play 193-128 that goes off early today***

Wednesday's Diamond Notes
Kevin Rogers

Hottest team: Astros (12-1 last 13)

In spite of Houston having its 12-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday by Tampa Bay, the Astros are still the hottest squad in the game. Houston was listed as a favorite of at least -200 for the fifth straight game but couldn’t produce enough offense in a 2-1 defeat on Tuesday, while scoring below four runs for the first time in 13 games. The Astros also saw their eight-game OVER streak come to an end as Justin Verlander was denied his 10th win of the season.

Houston still has an opportunity to post another lengthy winning streak when it concludes its series with Tampa Bay, followed by home series against Kansas City and Toronto. Charlie Morton heads to the mound in Wednesday’s rubber match, seeking his ninth win of the season for Houston. The right-hander is coming off a 7-3 road victory over Kansas City his last time out, as the Astros own a 4-1 mark when Morton takes the mound as a favorite of -200 or higher.

Coldest team: Royals (0-8 last eight)

Kansas City is riding an eight-game losing streak following Tuesday’s 4-1 loss to Texas. What’s even more amazing is that seven of those defeats have come at home, including four to last-place squads like the Rangers and Reds. If it wasn’t for Baltimore’s disastrous campaign at 20-51, Kansas City would own the worst record in baseball, as the Royals have been outscored on this homestand, 46-14.

The Royals look to avoid another home sweep as Jakob Junis heads to the hill against the Rangers. Junis hasn’t won a start in his last four appearances, while getting lit up in his past two outings against Oakland and Houston by allowing 12 earned runs and 17 hits in 10.2 innings of work. To make matters worse, Kansas City has compiled a dreadful 3-16 record in Game 3’s this season, including a 1-11 mark off a loss.

Hottest pitcher: Brent Suter, Brewers (7-4, 4.30 ERA)

Milwaukee snapped a three-game skid on Tuesday by holding off Pittsburgh, 3-2. Suter has been on fire over the last month as the Brewers have won five of his previous six starts, while coming off back-to-back blowouts of the Phillies. Suter delivered a season-high seven innings and allowed one run in a 13-2 home rout of Philadelphia last Friday, but it was only the second time in his career that he tossed seven innings. The Brewers won two of Suter’s three starts against the Pirates last season, including a 3-0 shutout last September.

Coldest pitcher: Andrew Cashner, Orioles (2-8, 4.98 ERA)

Baltimore built a 5-1 lead over rival Washington on Tuesday only to see that advantage disappear in a 9-7 setback. The Orioles dropped their fourth game in four tries to the Nationals this season, while stumbling to 9-27 on the road. Cashner will try to turn around his recent misfortune as the Orioles are winless in his past three starts, while scoring a total of three runs in those contests. The right-hander hasn’t pitched too poorly by putting together nearly identical stat-lines against the Blue Jays and Yankees as he allowed nine hits and three earned runs in six innings each time. Also noteworthy is the 6-0 UNDER streak Cashner is riding in his past six trips to the mound.

Biggest OVER run: Phillies (9-2 last 11)

Philadelphia has been involved in a pair of wild games with St. Louis so far in its three-game series. The Phillies squandered a 4-0 lead on Monday only to rally past the Cardinals in 10 innings, 6-5 and cash the OVER of 8 ½. Philadelphia couldn’t hold onto another two-run advantage on Tuesday as St. Louis came back for a 7-6 win, as the Phillies have allowed 21 runs in the last three games. Jake Arrieta hits the hill this afternoon in the rubber match, looking for a better performance after getting tagged for eight runs in 3.1 innings of a 13-2 setback at Milwaukee.

Biggest UNDER run: Yankees (14-0 last 14)

(Double-dose of Yankees alert) The Bronx Bombers unloaded on the Mariners last night, 7-2, thanks to four home runs. However, New York maintained its incredible UNDER run as the total of 9 ½ was threatened, but never busted. The pitching staff has allowed eight runs in the past five games, while the lineup reached the seven-run mark for the first time in 12 games. The last time the Yankees cashed an OVER came back on June 4 at Detroit in the first game of a doubleheader.

Matchup to watch: Mariners vs. Yankees

The Yankees and Red Sox continue to be a two-horse race atop the American League East and will be for the next three months. New York sits alone atop the division after Tuesday’s victory over Seattle and Boston’s loss at Minnesota. The Bronx Bombers improved to 15-4 over the last 19 games, while Giancarlo Stanton was one of four Yankees to go deep in Tuesday’s win.

The Mariners are facing their third straight potential playoff opponent after a 5-2 homestand against the Angels and Red Sox. Seattle suffered its second loss in the last seven road series openers, but remained two games behind Houston in the AL West after the Astros were tripped up by the Rays.

Felix Hernandez tries to fix his road woes as the Seattle right-hander owns a bloated 7.71 ERA away from Safeco Field this season. Hernandez hasn’t had much luck with the Yankees the last few seasons the Mariners have lost three of his past four starts against New York.

Rookie Jonathan Loaisiga makes his second career start for New York, as he tossed five scoreless innings in his Major League debut against Tampa Bay last Friday in a 5-0 shutout. The Yankees look to continue their recent ownership of the Mariners as they have won seven of the past nine meetings dating back to 2016.

Betcha didn’t know: The Rockies held off the Mets on Tuesday, 10-8 to snap an eight-game losing streak at Coors Field. Colorado has won two consecutive home games against an opponent only twice this season, coming against San Francisco in late May and San Diego in late April.

Biggest public favorite: Indians (-290) vs. White Sox

Biggest public underdog: Braves (+130) at Blue Jays

Biggest line move: Reds (-120 to -128) vs. Tigers

STREAKING AND SLUMPING STARTING PITCHERS

Streaking: Jon Lester, Chicago Cubs (8-2, 2.28 ERA, $726)

Lester is one of the hottest hurlers going right now, having won six of his previous seven starts while allowing two runs or fewer in eight of his previous nine appearances. And while Lester was the favorite in every one of those starts, he has still built up enough value to move into eighth place overall in that category.

Lester and the Cubs host the Dodgers on Wednesday, and there's a bigger profit potential than normal for Lester, who comes in as a razor-thin -105 fave. The way he's pitching, that price is terrific.

Slumping: Jose Urena, Miami Marlins (2-8, 4.18 ERA, $-979)

Just how bad has Urena been this season? Even with wins in two of his previous three starts, he still ranks third from the bottom among qualified pitchers in earnings. And with all due respect to Mr. Urena, throwing eight shutout innings against the Baltimore Orioles – as he did last time out – isn't exactly worthy of a trophy.

Urena and the Marlins are +120 underdogs to the host San Francisco Giants. Even with journeyman lefty Derek Holland on the hill for the Giants, it's hard to see Miami prevailing in this one.

Wednesday's comp play is the Yankees on the Run Line over the Mariners.

Jonathan Loaisiga will make his second big league start as he fills in for Masahiro Tanaka. Loaisiga's first start was an impressive 5 full innings at home with only 3 hits allowed, and 6 strikeouts recorded.

Seattle let things get away from them last night in the series opener, as they fell 7-2. In their last 3 meetings in the Bronx, the M's have been outscored by the Yankees, 23-6, and Seattle is just 2-8 the past 10 meetings against the New Yorkers.

Felix Hernandez is no longer a dominant hurler, and he comes into this start with just a 6-6 mark and a 5.44 season ERA. King Felix does own a 6-1 career mark at Yankee Stadium with a 1.41 ERA there. What does it tell you that he is this much of an underdog with those kinds of career numbers!??!!?

It tells me the Yanks are going to beat the snot out of him tonight.

Yankees Run Line winner.

Eric SchroederOn to my complimentary winner...

A nice World Cup winner on Russia yesterday.

Let's play the New York Yankees tonight as my free play, as I like them to rout the visiting Seattle Mariners.

IMPORTANT: As you know every single Run Line play and Total wager will automatically list the scheduled starting pitchers at the time of the wager, and I want you to be sure the following pitchers are the registered starters on your ticket when making your wager: Felix Hernandez and Jonathan Loaisiga. If one or both of these pitchers is not going, this is a no-play.

As big a King Felix fan as I am, it's been hard to watch the digression this season. Hernandez has the highest ERA of his 13-year career, at 5.44. I know he is coming off seven innings of two-run ball against Boston, but he is 3-3 with a 7.71 ERA on the road this season. He's allowed 31 runs (30 earned) on 43 hits and 14 walks, while being tagged for six home runs in those games.

It doesn't matter that Hernandez has a history of pitching well versus the Yankees - 10-7, 3.04 ERA in 21 starts and 6-1, including a 1.41 ERA in nine games at the new Yankee Stadium - but he's defying all of his past with a career-worst campaign.

That won't bode well against one of the best teams in baseball. The run support will be there for Loaisiga, who earned another start after throwing five scoreless innings against the Rays in his Major League debut on Friday.

All Stripes.
