I'm playing on SPAIN (3* GAME OF YEAR). While Russia may have the venue in its favor, I believe that these teams are in an entirely different class. The fact that Spain underachieved, while Russia arguably over-achieved, in the qualifying round has worked in our favor by keeping the line in a relatively reasonable range. Given the difference in talent, the line could very easily be much higher. The Russians had a dream matchup out of the gate but we saw what happened (3-0 loss) when they stepped up in class to face Uruguay. While I happily backed Uruguay in that one, the Spaniards are even more deadly. Expect nothing less than victory.

8-Unit Play. Take Croatia -117 over Denmark (Sunday, July 1st at 2:00 p.m)
Croatia is as solid as any team in the tournament. They are lead by Luka Modric and Perisic. They have played as consistent as any team in the tournament and many would say they are one of the favorites to win it all at this point. They play great, team soccer and I love how they keep their shape.
Denmark is not a very good team but they have one really good player, Eriksen. Having said that, they have one win in this tournament against Peru and Peru actually controlled the run of play in that one. Eriksen doesn't have enough talent around him to compete with the complete team of Croatia.
Croatia should control the ball in this game and they should have many more scoring opportunites than Denmark. I look for them to advance relatively easily.

4-Unit Play: Take 903 Brewers -130 over Reds (1:10 p.m., Sunday, July 1)
I'm backing the Brewers on Sunday with Peralta over Harvey. Cincinnati won 12-3 on Saturday for its first win against the Brewers in eight games this season. Milwaukee will bounce back though with Freddy Peralta on the mound and he owns a 3-0 record and 1.59 ERA in four starts this year. Peralta comes off seven shutout innings against Kansas City while allowing just one hit. He has not given up a run in three of his four outings and the Brewers have won all four of his starts. Milwaukee still sits atop the NL Central and it has a 24-17 road record while the Reds are still 18-25 at home despite their recent improved play. Matt Harvey comes off two good outings, but he still owns a 3-5 record and 5.28 ERA overall and 8.76 in four day games. Harvey faced the Brewers once this season and gave up four runs on eight hits in five innings. Milwaukee is 35-17 its last 52 games after a loss going back to last season. I'm playing the Over between the Braves and Cardinals on Sunday. The matchup of Foltynewicz and Gant features a pair of hot starting pitchers, but because of their recent heaters, the value is absolutely on the Over. We also note that six of the last seven meetings have gone over the total and despite Folty's great run, the Braves have played to the Over in five of his last six starts when he throws on five days rest.
