Going low side in St.Louis tonight.

Miles Mikolas and his 13-3 record and stellar 2.94 ERA is coming off his worst start of the year allowing 5 runs on 12 hits in 4 2/3 innings of the win at Colorado.

Back at home I look for him to return to his dominant self.

He has faced the Pirates 3 times this year allowing a total of 6 earned runs spanning 19 innings.

In 13 home starts this year he has allowed more than 3 runs only twice: to the Nationals and the Brewers.

We will see his best this evening.

As for the Pirates' Trevor Williams, he has been fantastic his last 7 trips to the hill.

For Wednesday, Raise The Bar 1500♦ is the Arizona Diamondbacks with Godley over the San Francisco Giants with Rodriguez. At 8:00 am eastern time, the Diamondbacks are -115 in Vegas and offshore.


It is about time for both myself and the Arizona Diamondbacks to get something going!!!! Arizona has not scored a run through the first two games of this concluding three game set in San Francisco, and I think it is high time they not only score a few runs, but also win a ball game.


Arizona has lost 4 of their last 5 overall, and with the slew of teams contending for both the division title, and the wild card spots, losses right now are absolute daggers for the Snakes.


Tonight they cool off a Giants team that has won 4 straight now, and will have Dereck Rodriguez and his 6-1 record on the hill. All of the numbers certainly point towards San Francisco this evening, as Arizona starter Zack Godley is just 1-2 with an 8.79 ERA against the Giants this season, but this being baseball, you just know that the D-Backs are not going to continue to be skunked on the scoreboard. They have logged too much quality baseball this season for their skid to continue much longer.


Tonight is the night Arizona plates enough to stop the bleeding.

It's been tough sledding for the Phillies of late, losers of 4 of their last 5 and 8 of their last 10 games. Last night they blew a lead in the ninth and will need to get right the ship in a hurry if they want to sniff the postseason. The Nationals are rolling right now scoring 25 runs over their last three games. They now get to face Jake Arrieta who is coming off a start where he allowed 4 runs and gave up 3 walks. Over his last 17 innings, Arrieta has given up 10 runs and 5 walks and is 0-3. The Nats will counter with Gio Gonzalez who pitched well in his most recent start, but in the two games prior to that, gave up 15 hits, 13 runs, and 7 walks in just 8.2 innings. We expect Gio to revert back to that form and have a let down in tonight's ball game. Both teams know they can ill-afford to lose any more ground on the Braves so they will be eager to put up as many runs as they can in this one. The over is 7-3-1 in the Nats' last 11 games vs a right-handed starter while the over is 8-1 in the Phillies last 9 games following a loss.
