Football in Los Angeles has been as good as the baseball this season. The Charges roll into this weekend's match up with a struggling Oakland side on a five-game winning streak having put up at least 25 points in four of the five games and seven of their eight games this season. Philip Rivers is motivated this season to make the playoffs as his career is nearing its end and playing against a struggling Oakland this will be a great chance to pad some stats. With that said, Oakland were embarrassed last week against San Francisco and will be looking to make amends. We like for this side to find some offense and challenge the Chargers a bit, but the defense will still struggle. Look for big numbers on both sides.

The Rams are coming off their first loss of the season ending a perfect start. This will motivate this side as they host Seattle on Sunday. In the Rams eight wins they were able to score over 30 points in six of these games. The run attack in LA is nearly unstoppable and Goff has looked like an MVP candidate. The Rams are averaging nearly 450 yards per game and have allowed only 22 per game. Gurley is the key in this game, the ground and pound will wear out a Seattle defense that is prone to give up points. For Seattle, they are now 4-3 coming off a 25-17 loss at home to the Chargers, but have won three straight away games. Though Seattle's defense has slowed teams down, a motivated LA team knowing they have magic in a bottle will roll on Sunday.

Now they face another high-explosive offense that is coming off their best performance of the season last week in Washington. The Browns have lost 4 straight games, with 3 of those 4 setbacks being blowouts. Atlanta can score their way to a victory on Sunday, and if they do not give the Browns a short field, Cleveland will not be able to keep pace. The Browns are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 games against teams from the NFC. Cleveland is 7-23 ATS in their last 30 games in November.

3 Unit Play. Take #259 New England Patriots -6.5 over Tennessee Titans (1 pm, Sunday, November 11 CBS) The Patriots in November is always a strong play, and they should be healthier this week in Nashville. Tennessee is coming off a short week and had no success against the Patriots last year in the playoffs. New England has covered the spread 6 straight times with a bye week on deck. This will not be a blowout, but New England just has more talent on offense, and their defense should be able to frustrate QB Marcus Mariota. Tennessee is 2-8 ATS (1 push) in their last 11 games played in November. New England is 5-0 ATS and straight-up in their last 5 games against Tennessee.

3 Unit Play. Take #263 Jacksonville Jaguars +3 over Indianapolis Colts (1 pm, Sunday, November 11 CBS) Everyone is done of the Jaguars as they have lost 4 straight games, but I feel they should not be an underdog against this Colts team. Jacksonville is coming off a bye week and they need to protect the football to win this game. The Colts have won two straight games, but they came against the two worst teams in the league, Oakland and Buffalo. Jacksonville pounded Indianapolis last year winning both games by 20+ points. It will not be that big of a deficit today, but they still will win straight up.

3 Unit Play. Take #266 Chicago Bears -6.5 over Detroit Lions (1 pm, Sunday, November 11 FOX) The Bears sit atop the standing in the NFC North and are starting to get healthy. Detroit is playing their second straight divisional road game and I do not see a better effort this week in Chicago than what they gave last week in Minnesota. Detroit gave up 10 sacks last week and expect pressure again to come this week.

4 Unit Play. Take #267 Arizona Cardinals +16.5 over Kansas City Chiefs (1 pm, Sunday, November 11 FOX) This is a very similar setup to Buffalo and Minnesota earlier in this season. We used Buffalo in that game and cruised to a victory (beat Minnesota straight-up). Arizona will not win this game straight-up, but I do expect them to stay below the humongous number. This is the classic look-ahead situation for Kansas City, as they have the LA Rams on deck. Arizona is terrible, but they have been covering the spread of late going 4-1 ATS (1 push) in their last 6 games.

The Raiders Defense is bad because they keep trading away their best players and they can’t get after the QB. Phillip Rivers should dice this team up today and Melvin Gordon should have a huge game running the ball. If the Raiders would just throw the ball down the field they would be as good an offense as any team in the league. This offensive unit for Oakland, even after trading Cooper, has a lot of talent that is not being used correctly. Dinking and dunking doesn’t work in the NFL anymore. You must take your deep shots. The Chargers secondary has quite a few injuries to their corners this year so I do believe Oakland matches up well with their receivers. Jon Gruden is losing confidence from his fans fast. This Oakland team is clearly in tank mode, but you have to give the fans a show along the way. Look for the Raiders to have a decent day on offense and for this to be a high scoring game. 5-Star Bills +7 over JETS - Teams that have had trouble scoring recently have not been good investments when laying points. The league is 0-25 ATS as a home favorite the week following a loss as a road dog when they have averaged 14 ppg or less over their last three games and they are facing a team that is at least two games under 500 on the road, as long as both teams are not on five-plus game losing streaks. The SDQL text is:

The Jets are off a fine defensive effort over the rival, the Miami Dolphins. The game was a big one for the Jets, as the Dolphins had beaten them 20-12 in week two. NY held Miami to only 168 yards of offense, but they lost 13-6 because they committed four turnovers and had no takeaways. It certainly was a tough beat for those who had NYJ +3.5, as the last time the Dolphins has less than 170 yards of offense was week 9, 2013.

We expect it will be difficult for the Jets to recovered mentally and physically from this fruitless effort. NY is 0-16 ATS when they are off a road game in which they allowed at least 7.5 points fewer than their season-to-date average, as long as they are not getting more than a TD. The SDQL text is:

The Bills offense committed four turnovers and allowed two defensive touchdowns, while their defense did not allow a single TD drive that was over 50 yards and only three third down conversions.

The last time these two faced off was the Sunday of week 13 last season. The Colts were getting 10.5 in Jacksonville and they lost 30-10. Here, the Colts are a slight favorite. This activates a nice OU system. NFL teams with ten-plus days rest are 0-19 OU (-11.3 ppg) as a 1-3 point home favorite over a divisional opponent when they were a dog the last time they faced this opponent and their previous meeting was on a Sunday. The Colts are off a 42-28 win over the Raiders, but it was the rushing game that was spectacular. Indianapolis had 239 yards passing and 222 yards rushing. Since the start of the 2008 season, the Colts have rushed for 220-plus yards only twice. These two occurrences were in their last two games. We expect them to feature their rushing attack again. This is relevant because the Colts are 0-10 OU (-8.85 ppg) when they are facing a divisional opponent and they are off a win in which they had at least 8 more rushes than their season-to-date average and accumulated at least 100 rushing yards as a result. 3-Unit Play. Take #520 Central Florida (-21.5) over Florida Atlantic (3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 11)
I'm all in on Central Florida this year. I think they are the best team in the AAC and I think that they are a tournament team. I also think that they are going to absolutely throttle Florida Atlantic, which is one of the worst programs in the country. FAU has a new coach in Dusty May. FAU has 10 new players, a new coach, and a new system. These guys don't know what they are doing. UCF has one of the most experienced teams in the country and they know exactly what they are doing. The Owls want to press and trap and play up-tempo. That is going to play right into Central Florida's hands, because they are going to be able to get easy baskets while also harassing FAU with their own half-court defense. Last year a more experienced Owls team played two teams from major conferences, Texas Tech and Minnesota. They lost by 36 and 35 points. I see a similar result here.

3-Unit Play. Take #522 Iowa (-19.5) over UW-Green Bay (3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 11)
UW-Green Bay is coming off a hard-fought loss in their home opener on Friday. Now they are back on the road to face a feisty Iowa team that did not play particularly well in their opening game. I think the Hawkeyes are going to run away with this one. Last year they faced three Top 75 teams and they lost by 9, 23 and 21 points. Iowa doesn't play great defense. But they can put points up in a hurry and if they get a big lead they should have no problem adding to it and keeping the pressure on. Iowa is too big and too strong. And I think that if they get to 90 in this one Green Bay won't have enough firepower to keep up.

1-Unit Play. Take #536 Creighton (-12) over East Tennessee State (1:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 11)
This is ETSU's third game in the last five days. They had to open in Atlanta, then go home, and now they are in the middle of Nebraska for a Sunday afternoon affair. That's a tough ask for a team that is made up of almost entirely new players. I don't love Creighton at all this year; they lost too much talent and experience. But one thing they have shown over the past few years is that they can absolutely lay into people that aren't ready to play in their own gym.

1-Unit Play. Take #1254 Nebraska (-22) over SE Louisiana (4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 11)
SE Louisiana lost four of five starters from last year's team and they are rebuilding. Nebraska, fresh off an NCAA Tournament snub, has a bit of a chip on its shoulder. They won their first game by 70. They won't do that here. But they don't need to in order to beat this number.

3-Unit Play. Take #1256 Connecticut (-13.5) over UM-KC (5 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 11)
It's been a long week for the Kangaroos. They started the week getting demolished in Chicago by Loyola. Then they put up a game effort in Ames against Iowa. Now they are back on the road to face a hungry Connecticut team. The Huskies didn't have a great opener in Danny Hurley's first game, winning by 10 against Morehead State. But that's a pretty good Morehead team and they pushed SU yesterday as well. The Huskies got that first win out of the way so now they can really bare down. And I think they will hammer this tired UM-KC squad.
