Analysis
No, LeBron James isn't back. But Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma are. Given those two along with Lonzo Ball and playing at home following a confidence-building road victory against the Mavericks this past Monday gives a buy sign to the Lakers. The Lakers' 107-97 road win against the Mavericks is impressive. Dallas was 15-3 at home entering that game. The Pistons are back in lottery territory following a strong start to the season. They are 4-14 in their last 18 games. Detroit has lost and failed to cover in four of its past five road matchups. The Pistons' lone away victory during this span came against the struggling Grizzlies, who are 0-6 SU and ATS in their last six games. The Lakers have covered seven of the last eight times they have hosted the Pistons.

Watching the Blackhawks it's easy to see why they give up the second-most goals per game in the NHL: They don't play much defense. The Blackhawks are particularly vulnerable when the other team has a man advantage ranking last in penalty killing. The Predators have picked up their scoring averaging four goals a game during their last six games. The Blackhawks have been respectable offensively, too, averaging 3.3 goals per game in their last nine matchups. Chicago has improved its power play moving up to 24th after ranking last. Chicago is 10-for-30 on the power play during its last 10 games.

The Avalanche are not playing well, but they can score goals and are in a great ambush spot here. Calgary is fat and happy getting ready to play at home for the first time in 2019. The Flames concluded a four-game, six-day road trip with victories against the Flyers and Blackhawks on Monday. All together, the Flames went 3-1 on their road trip also beating the Red Wings. None of those teams are any good, though. The Flames may not have their full concentration after being gone from home for a week. They are dealing with a fatigue factor, too, as this is their fifth game in eight days. Colorado has a top-eight offense and the fifth-best power play in the league. The Flames rank 22nd killing penalties.

7 Unit Play Take 536 Los Angeles Lakers -1.5 over Detroit (10:35pm est):

The betting markets are having a tough time putting a power rating on this Los Angeles Lakers team without LeBron James on the floor and because of that I think we are getting some nice line value here in this one. Before he got hurt the Lakers were playing some solid basketball at 16-9 in their last 25 games overall. The Lakers have went just 2-5 their last seven games without James but keep in mind they were underdogs in 5 of those 7 contests so they were expected to lose. Outside of their loss to the New York Knicks in a game the Lakers fell apart late, the other six games all came against teams better than the team they face here in this one. This is a Lakers team that finished the 2nd half of last season with a winning record and who have won 5 of their last 7 games low lined games between -2.5 and +2.5 points.

On the other side of things we have a sputtering Detroit Pistons team. The Pistons have just one win in their last six games and that was against a Memphis Grizzlies team that's playing very poorly right now. In fact Detroit is very quietly just 4-14 in their last 18 games. They've benefitted from playing an easy schedule with just 17 road games this year so far and are just 6-11 in those including going just 2-8 overall their last 10 away from home. They've only beat one team with a winning record on the road this season and that was nearly two months ago and by only 2 points over Toronto in a game the Pistons had a miracle comeback after trailing by double digits going into the 4th quarter. Simply put this is not a good team and this line here is way too low.
