I like teams that roll into the NCAA Tournament hot while also playing close to home. Oregon fits the criteria for both riding an eight-game win and cover streak and the Ducks are playing in San Jose. Wisconsin is playing below its rating, just 2-7-1 ATS in its last 10 games. The Pac-12 doesn't get a lot of credit, but Oregon proved it was the best in the conference. Ducks get the cover.

When you look at this match up the knee jerk reaction is to jump on Cincinnati as Iowa finished the season on 1-5 SU run. Cincinnati on the other hand comes in here off 3 straight wins and is 8-2 SU the last 10 which included winning their Conference Tournament. Cincinnati was able to turn the table on highly ranked Houston who had beat them soundly in both regular season meetings to win the Tournament. Because of that big win the market has over adjusted to Cincinnati making them a 4 point favorite here. The American Conference was good this year but it still isn’t the Big 10 Conference who was very strong this year. Iowa played the 27th toughest schedule in the country while Cincinnati played the 73rd toughest. You also have to wonder how much did winning the Conference Tournament take out of Cincinnati. We saw Auburn in a similar spot yesterday just get by New Mexico St. winning but not covering. Michigan St who battled Michigan for a 3rd time in winning the Big 10 Tournament came back yesterday and struggled for most of the game before pulling away late for the win and no cover. It also must be noted that even though Cincinnati is winning they haven’t been covering the spread as they are just 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games. The main reason for this is they are struggling offensively as in their last 7 games they have shot 39% or less in 5 of the 7 games. I just can’t lay points with a team shooting like that. My numbers have Iowa Winning by 3-5 points.

This isn’t a huge upset with the #9 seed, but I don’t think we are going to see them this year. I think all the 1-4 teams are safe. If St. Louis could shoot the ball maybe they would have a shot against VTech. UCF made great improvements this year. Last year most of their guys got injured, but finally they put it all together. I am not 100 percent on the health of Marcus Evans. I saw his injury live and I just can’t believe he is playing today. This is a team that is lost without him. The NCAA Tournament is all about great guard play. Evans is the main man at dishing the ball out. Evans is not 100% so I believe that hurts this team today. UCF is a huge team that is hard to shoot over. I give the edge to the Knights in just about every category. The Atlantic 10 Conference was pretty weak this year and I don’t believe VCU is as good as some of the teams they have fielded in the past. Take UCF

This line is proof that west coast teams get no love. Oregon is one of the hottest teams in the country entering the NCAA Tournament. They stepped up in a huge way to win out at the Pac 12 Tournament, despite it being a weaker league this season. Wisconsin didn't really have any extra quality wins the last six weeks or so of the season. The Ducks are more athletic, deeper and riding the wave of their last week. They beat the Badgers as a small underdog.

I like the Knights here. UCF was a tough out all season long, and it will prove to be the case in this really good match-up against VCU. Iowa State could easily pound this Buckeyes team if they are clicking tonight. I really don't see much in OSU that made them apart of this field, if you want me to be honest. They need to get two wins this week to continue their momentum before we get ahead of ourselves. But I like their chances, most especially tonight.

ANALYSIS
I don't think people realize how good this team is.

Since their February 23rd loss at UCLA 90-83 as a +1 1/2 point underdog, the Oregon Ducks haven't lost again.

I'm talking 8 in a row SU and 8 in a row ATS.

It started with back to back double digit blowouts of Arizona State and Arizona beating the Sun Devils 79-51 and the Wildcats 73-47.

Then it was off to the state of Washington as they dismantled Washington State 72-61 before beating Washington 55-47 and ruining senior night for the Huskies.

Next up, they had to win 4 games in 4 days at the PAC-12 tournament to punch their ticket to the big dance because they sure as hell weren't getting an at large bid.

Wouldn't you know it....they did just that.

Blasted blasted Washington St 84-51, then Utah 66-54, then the OT win over ASU in the semi's 79-75 then Washington to punch their ticket 68-48.

They are playing as good as any team in america and I don't care who you are, I would not want to play them right now.

As for Wisconsin, they struggled to beat a Nebraska team playing their 3rd straight day in the Big ten tourney before losing to Michigan St 67-55.

They closed the year 6-4 SU but just 2-7-1 ATS.

I've watched them play multiple times this year and it's like watching paint dry.

Looking back at the Badgers schedule for the entire season their isn't one single team they have played in their 33 games as quick and athletic as this Ducks team is.

This is a terrible match up for Wisky and I will ride this Oregon team to a 9th straight win straight up and a 9th straight win ATS.

Oregon is the flavor of the Week (https://www.wagertalk.com/members/trades#) after they rolled thru PAC 12 Conference Tournament. The market has over reacted to their run to the Big Dance as the only way they were getting in was to Win their way in. Let’s not get too excited because this was the PAC 12 a Conference that had no real dominant team. The one thing Oregon did well was play defense and be physical and that frustrated most of the PAC 12 teams but they are matching up against a team that plays even better defense and is even more physical and that’s Wisconsin. Wisconsin played in a much tougher conference and won’t be fazed by the Oregon defense as they see a better one every day in practice and comes from a conference that likes to be physical. Wisconsin has the 11th best defense in the Country allowing just 39% shooting on the year. You also have to wonder how much playing 4 games in 4 Days including a OT game will have taken out of Oregon moving forward. My numbers have WISCONSIN by 7-9 POINTS

St Louis is going to struggle to score in this game against the vaunted Virginia Tech defense. Virginia Tech has done well when they have stepped outside of the ACC as over the last 2 seasons when facing a non conference foe Virginia Tech is 15-6 ATS. My numbers have Virginia Tech winning by 15-17 points.

Ok I know I sound like a broken record but if it ain’t broke don’t fix it and this angle has worked like a charm so far for us and once again here’s a team that made a big run to win their Conference Tournament. After struggling down the stretch Iowa St rolled off 3 straight wins to take down the Big 12 Tournament and knocking off the King of the Conference Kansas in the Championship Game. This is the exact same set up as Auburn yesterday and Cincinnati today. Ohio St is a live dog here as I see this game going right to the wire. My numbers have Ohio St winning by 1-3 points.
