Giannis sat the entire 4th quarter of game 1. The bucks got to 100 before the Pistons got to 60. Drummond and Jackson are the only hope for Detroit and the better +/- was Reggie at -36! Drummond posted an almost unreal except it's true -45! Keep in mind this dude was ejected for a hard dumb foul on the Freak.
Dwayne Casey said he was happy to have just made the playoffs and now Blake won't play a minute of the series and both proved out as the debacle started hard and fast in the 1st quarter yesterday .
Variations of -5 for the first quarter and -9 for the first half might be solid additions as well...hard to probably go wrong with any of these and hard to imagine it gets much better even as it heads back to Detroit.
My play on the Bucks -14 for game 1 was largely based upon how good Milwaukee is compared to the bottom of the East as well as the like subpar if any Blake plus the season sweep...but my favorite aspect was how TERRIBLE a match up Brook Lopez is for Detroit stretching the floor and making Drummond even more neutralized down low...he comes out to guard and Lopez passes, he switches offf and Brook shoots a 3!
Lopez countered Drummond and his epic +/- with a +35 of his own....gonna be UGLY

Day game following night game within a series where the road team is a dog and off the previous night game was beaten by double digit runs....the RL on that dog is 43-19 covering 70% of the time for almost 17% ROI.
Additionally we are working on an analytics based trend debunking ERA and using over and under performing pitchers with FIP and xFIP. 2-0 last night with some real no doubters fading Estrada and Margevicius.
Today we do the inverse and back Zach Wheeler...sporting what appears to be a nasty 7.47 ERA...but that's so 1988. His FIP shows he has truly gotten almost EVERY bad break possible on the young season...coming in at a sub-4 just 3.91! Absurd! Last night we won easy with a couple of almost 2 point gaps...and here we have an almost 3 point gap!
Taking the run line only due to the combo of trends...but the FIP system would recommend maybe a pizza bet on the Mets ML as well!

The Giants got the better of Stephen Strasburg and the Nationals Tuesday night, but my projections show a reversal of fortunes for Wednesday with Jeremy Hellickson starting for Washington. The Nats are only 7-8 on the season, but they're 4-0 in the second game of series. San Francisco still has one of the bottom offenses in MLB. Washington wins a hefty 71 percent of my simulations, making it a huge play for tonight.

The Astros are red hot, and just destroyed the A's 9-1 last night. Two good pitchers tonight in Miley and Montas, with the bullpens and the starters almost even. Miley has owned the A's, 5-1 lifetime with a 1.40 ERA against them and he started a 6-0 shutout of them back on the 6th. I think this one is a dog fight and hits and runs at a premium.
Montas faced the Astros back on the 5th and it was a 3-2 game, he allowed 2 runs and 7 hits in just over 5 innings on the hill. 3-2 type ballgame here in my opinion. Lots of Over trends here and that is also why I like the Under, as based on trends and recent history oddsmakers have inflated this line. Runs should be at a premium.

Afternoon Game
Milwaukee's offense at home continues to be sensational, averaging 6.9 RPG, after battering St. Louis pitching for 10 and 8 runs so far in this series. They probably will not have as much success against the Redbirds Michael Wacha, whose 5.28 is attributed to one bad outing. However, the ways Brewers are swinging the lumber, if Wacha continues to give up four walks a start, they will take advantage of the situation.
Brew Crew starter Corbin Burnes (10.05 ERA) has given up nine HR's in just over 14 innings, with eight coming on fastballs. The Cards are 23-9 OVER when having lost three of four and 32-13 OVER as a road underdog of +100 to +150.

I have a nice situational play for you with Pittsburgh at Detroit. The Pirates have won 16 of 21 games against the AL and in the mix has come nine victories and only two losses versus the Tigers. The Bucs Trevor Williams (1-0, 2.45 ERA) gives his team a solid six innings almost every time out and against Detroit, he's on a string of 13 scoreless innings and will face a lineup averaging 2.7 RPG. With Pittsburgh 20-4 vs. AL teams scoring 3.9 or less RPG, you can figure what side I'll be on.

Just no reason whatsoever NOT to follow what's been happening in the East and assume Vegas has finally decided It doesn't wanna be NHL underdog's little bitch anymore. For 3 games in a row...after Columbus proved for 2 straight periods to finish game 1 they were the better team...Vegas threw up disgusting big plus numbers and kept paying through the nose. They inexplicably did the same thing with the Islanders Penguins series all the way to last night with Pittsburgh laying -170. Quite possibly the dumbest line they've hung in 2019 and maybe will hang for the remaining 8 months of this year.
Sadly tonight we aren't getting as lucky with the money...the dare Vegas has put on us tonight isn't nearly as AUTOMATIC as it was with the 2 sweeps in the East...but the Avalanche are the right side...if you need any more proof look to 2 facts:
1) Colorado opened a short dog and looks to be the favorite by dinner time
2) Never once was Columbus or New York this close to an even line and Vegas watched them combine for 8-0 so far...if Colorado was anything but what every linesmaker considered the right side it'd have been bigger but still devolved as fast as it has anyway

7-Unit Play. Take 'Over' 214 Detroit at Milwaukee (Wednesday, April 17 at 8:00 p.m)Again, the one thing we've learned so far in these playoffs is that teams will bounce back from game one. I look for that to happen tonight in Milwaukee. Detroit will play much better offensively but I'm still not convinced they can keep this within the number. However, their better offensive play should lead to an easy cover on the Over.
The Bucks are going to play fast and score a lot of points. They averaged 119.9 points per game at home during the regular season. They scored 121 in the first game of this series and that was in a blowout effort. I can see them scoring that much or more in a "closer" game.
I do see this being a closer game and I believe that comes because the Pistons will play better offensively. They simply couldn't get anything started in game 1. Griffin is obviously not 100% but that could help us in this situation. When Blake is completely healthy, the offense can slow down and they run a lot of things through him and ask him to bail them out late in the clock. I look for the Pistons to change that up tonight and look to get out in transition. They need easy buckets to keep this game close. They know it.
This total is relatively low and I like the value of it. I look for the Bucks to continue to play fast and I look for a different Detroit offense tonight.

Maybe the funniest (read:MOST RIDICULOUS) stat you'll find in any nook or cranny of the massive stats kept in MLB so far on this young season is Carlos Carrasco's BABIP....coming in at .613!!! League worst by a couple HUNDRED points...also he has the MLB's worst ERA at 12.60. He's had 3 starts. Ok...pick your jaws up off the floor, take a shot of Jack and take in his FIP is 4.84, xFIP at 4.11, and SIERA is 3.42!

Dude be getting Hosed and it Just. Ain't. Gonna. Keep. Up! I don't have betting profit to back up what the ROI would be for an 8 point difference in our favor of ERA and FIP, but it's probably 3 figures!

Tonight looks like as good a night as any...I waited for the. Best line and money is going the wrong way. Carrasco flat out hasn't been bad and it's amazing it's worked out so in our favor!

I would probably play this much bigger but gonna post it as a 4% play for purposes of solidarity!

Houston’s Game 1 blowout over Utah wasn’t the first time in recent meetings that the Jazz have come unglued facing this Rockets barrage. The Rockets won by 27 in Utah back in February; a blowout by halftime. They took care of the Jazz in five games in the playoffs last year; all four victories coming by double digit margins. Their only loss in that series came in a similar spot – right here in Game 2, off a Game 1 blowout -- a loss that they still remember and one that kept the Rockets from getting the extra rest they needed to hang tough with Golden State in their next series.

I’m not expecting a similar Game 2 letdown this time around, especially considering how well they’ve been playing: 21-4 SU in their last 25 games. Even those four losses come with asterisks: one loss in OT by a single point; another in spread covering fashion by only two points at Golden State; a third coming by a single point on the last day of the regular season. 13 of Houston’s last 15 victories have come by double digit margins; a team that is more than capable of extending leads in the latter stages of the game.

What answers does Utah have? Their point guards are banged up. Leading scorer Donovan Mitchell didn’t dish a single assist on Sunday. Utah’s defense is designed to prevent dribble penetration; Houston’s offense is loaded with perimeter shooters. Rudy Gobert put up stats, but the Jazz were -23 with him on the floor…and that came in a game where his Rockets counterpart, Clint Capela, was dealing with an upper respiratory infection: "It was hard. I would say it was probably my toughest game ... it felt kind of hard to breathe like I'm used to."

James Harden’s quotes stand out to me as well, talking about Utah’s defense against him and the Rockets mentality tonight: "I've seen literally every defense you can possibly see. So it was just a matter of adjusting and continuing to communicate with the guys of what spots they needed to be in…..It's only one game. They're going to make adjustments, we have to make adjustments and play that much harder and smarter. We'll let it sink in and get ready to go." Take the Rockets.

That leaves all the other weaknesses of this Nats roster on full display. Washington’s bullpen ranks dead last in the majors in ERA, suffering eight losses already while notching only one save on the season! That’s bad news with Jeremy Hellickson on the hill; no longer an innings eater at this stage of his career. San Francisco’s bullpen ranks #1 in the majors in ERA and they had Sunday off; a relatively fresh unit to close out the game tonight. And the Giants bats got going yesterday, a team with some positive momentum after winning four times in their last five contests. Live dog here! Take the Giants.

There’s not much to like about the LA Angels these days. Since taking an early 4-1 lead against the Rangers in the first game of this series, LA has been outscored 17-2. Their bullpen is gassed, without a single out recorded by a starting pitcher in the sixth inning or later in any of their last six ballgames. Fly baller Matt Harvey is a bad fit for this ballpark, and the Rangers smashed him for eight earned runs in four innings less than two weeks ago; coming off another ugly outing against the Brewers. This is a cheap price to lay to back a hot hitting Rangers team -- 36 runs scored while going 4-1 in their last five games. Take the Rangers

Teams that lose Game 1's have bounced back and played better in Game 2 so far, and I expect that as well with the Pacers. Indiana lost by 10 (and failed to cover) in Game 1 at Boston, but they couldn't fully recover from a horrid third quarter. Without a huge 12-minute letdown, Game 2 should be much closer. My simulations project a Pacers cover.

This Jazz team has the tools to beat Houston. Utah should win the battle on the glass and really it’s just a matter of stopping the three point shooter. The Rockets are not very good at sharing the basketball which makes it easier for a good defensive team like Utah. In the playoffs a team is going win if they get hot behind the three point line and there is nothing a team can do about it. Houston has the ability to do just that being they shoot so many three pointers, but they don’t have much else in their firepower. Utah is a more complete team and should be desperate to even up this series tonight. Take Utah.
