Rating: Golden DollarGolden DollarGolden DollarGolden Dollar

#5 HEATHER HILLS (ML=5/2)

HEATHER HILLS - This mare ran well in her last race but just couldn't beat the winner. Note that she was well clear of the 3rd horse, and looks like a major contender in this field.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 SMOKIN PRINCESS (ML=9/5), #1 SWEETHEART LADY (ML=7/2), #3 REDNECK LADY (ML=6/1),

SMOKIN PRINCESS - This filly earned a speed rating in her last event which probably isn't good enough in today's race. SWEETHEART LADY - Registered a common rating in the last race in a $25,000 Maiden Claiming race on May 6th. Not probable to see an improved performance off of that figure. REDNECK LADY - This horse hasn't been in the money in either of her last two outings.

Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - HEATHER HILLS - I like to check out the TrackMaster Platinum PPs to look for the top thoroughbred in earnings per start. This magnificent animal looks good to me so I'm making a prime wager on her.

# 2 ITSALLABOUTMEMEME 9/2

# 6 MACKENZIE'S STAR 6/1

# 1 SHIPKA 8/5

ITSALLABOUTMEMEME has a quite good shot to take this race. Looks competitive for the conditions of this contest today, showing solid figures in dirt route races as of late. A solid 73 avg class fig may give this filly a distinct class edge versus this group. Win percentage one of the strongest in this field. MACKENZIE'S STAR - Runco is trying to prove victorious with this horse by bringing her back so soon. Has run soundly when running a dirt route race. SHIPKA - With a very good 83 speed figure last time out, will definitely be a factor in this contest. Has competitive Equibase Class Figures relative to this group of horses in this race - worth a look.

# 7 COLLCHIEF 8/5

# 9 ALWAYSBEHUMBLE 5/2

# 3 CLOSE THE CASE 10/1

COLLCHIEF has a solid shot to take this race. Riquelme ought to be able to get this gelding to break out early for this event. Should be given consideration here if only for the quite good speed figure recorded in the last race. The average class figure alone makes this one a solid choice. ALWAYSBEHUMBLE - He has been racing soundly lately while recording strong speed figures. Could beat this field given the 59 Equibase Speed Figure earned in his last outing. CLOSE THE CASE - Ought to be given a shot in this race if only for the formidable Equibase Speed Fig recorded in the last contest.

#5 IM CHILLIN (ML=3/1)

IM CHILLIN - Stalking speed. My peers and I like this horse. That 82 fig this gelding garnered in his last event tells me he's a major player this time around. Have to give this gelding a fair chance. Ran a solid effort last time out within the last month.

Vulnerable Contenders: #2 ANIMUS (ML=7/2), #6 MAD JACK (ML=4/1), #1 LORD REVELSTOKE (ML=5/1),

ANIMUS - Not probable that this equine will finish better than he did last time when finishing ninth. MAD JACK - Last seen on October 3rd at Presque Isle Downs. Probably needs to do some racing into form. LORD REVELSTOKE - When examining today's class rating, he will have to garner a better rating than last time out to vie in this dirt route.

MLB | Angels vs Twins
Play on: Twins -141 at BMaker

This is a Free play on the Minnesota Twins.
The Twins have split the first two games of this home series versus LA, and they look good to win the rubber match with a favorable matchup on the mound.
Jake Odorizzi will toe the slab for Minnesota, and he's riding a five game winning streak. Odorizzi (5-2, 2.32 ERA) tossed seven scoreless innings, allowing one hit in a home win over Detroit his last time out.
The Angels hand the ball to Trevor Cahill, who has struggled so far this season. He's 0-2 with an 11.81 ERA in four appearances versus the Twins since 2015.
Albert Pujols is 0-for-10 lifetime versus Odorizzi.

MLB | NYM vs WAS
Play on: OVER 8 -105

The MLB Comp play is on the Over in the NY. Mets at Washington Nationals game at 7:05 eastern. The Mets have gone over in 5 of 7 vs a lefty and the last 5 on the road vs a losing team. The Nationals are 28 of 41 over at home including 6 of the last 7 vs a team that is .500 or less. The Nats are 6 of 7 over on Wednesdays. They have also gone over in 3 of 4 here with Corbin Pitching. The Mets are expected to start W. Font but he will most likely go just a few innings in what could be more of a bull pen game. To tie in a nice 80% totals system. We are playing the over for road dogs of 135 or more that are off a -140 or more road favored win scoring 5+ runs, vs an opponent off a home dog loss scoring 4 or less runs with both teams getting 1 or no errors. Look for this game to soar over the total tonight. Rob V- GC Sports

MLB | Cardinals vs Braves
Play on: Braves -132 at 5Dimes

Ben Burns is SO HOT with his 'premium' plays that his 10-2 RECORD with 'free' plays isn't getting much attention. Thats ok. Here's another winner, this one coming from today's Cards/Braves contest.
The Cards won big yesterday but the Braves should bounce back today. You may not have heard but Soroka is doing some special things. He's got an amazing 1.21 ERA on the season. Last time out, he became the first pitcher ever (since they started tracking earned runs in 1913) to allow one or less earned runs in eight of his first 10 starts. He's got a 0.69 ERA through two May starts. Wacha, on the other hand, has a poor 6.32 ERA in three starts, since returning from injury. The Braves are 7-3 the last 10 times that they attempted to avenge a loss where their opponent scored 12 or more runs. They hit Wacha hard (4 earned runs, 8 hits in five innings) the last time that they saw him and I like their chances here. Consider Atlanta.

T.M. Selection: Toronto Raptors (1* FREE PLAY)
Toronto lost three of four to Milwaukee in the regular season, but I think Kawhi Leonard and company will at the very least take Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals right down to the wire. These teams are similar in many respects, in that they have a clear top tier dominant player (Leonard for the Raptors and Giaanis Antetokounmpo for the Bucks), as well as a strong cast of starting role players, combined with a deep and talented bench. Toronto’s late acquisition of big man Marc Gasol could swing this series in favor of Toronto though as he and Serge Ibaka proved to be too much for 76ers’ big man Joel Embiid to handle. And I think the combination of the two will prove difficult for Milwaukee as well. The Bucks have yet to be tested in any real way so far in the Playoffs, but I believe that changes in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Toronto Raptors vs. Milwaukee Bucks Preview and Predictions 05-15-2019 in NBA

Two of the best players in the league begin pursuit of an NBA Finals berth when the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks host the second-seeded Toronto Raptors in Wednesday's Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals. Leading MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo has dominated while helping Milwaukee outscore teams by an average of 15.3 points in the postseason, while Toronto's Kawhi Leonard is again a playoff star and made the decisive basket as time expired in the conference semifinals against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Raptors are in the Eastern Conference finals for just the second time in franchise history and they made it by riding Leonard's 41 points to a 92-90 victory over the 76ers, including the four bounces on the rim shot that is the first Game 7-winning buzzer-beater in NBA history. "Ended up getting a soft touch and it went in," explained Leonard, who is averaging 31.8 points in 12 playoff games, including a franchise record nine straight 20-point outings. Antetokounmpo is averaging 27.4 points and 11.3 rebounds as the Bucks went 8-1 against the Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics to reach the East finals for the first time 2001. "At the end of the day, we realize we've never been there before," Antetokounmpo told reporters of the current group. "We're really hungry to achieve our goals. That's all we care about. As long as we play hard, we really don't care about what anybody has to say."

TV: 8:30 p.m. ET, TNT, Sportsnet (Toronto)

ABOUT THE RAPTORS: Leonard is carrying the attack and has made Toronto a viable threat to reach the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history. "It's amazing to me, whether we're in the huddle, locker room or film room, he's always locked in on what the coaching staff is saying and I think that's an interesting thing about him," Raptors coach Nick Nurse told reporters. "He's very coachable. He's focused and pays attention. I think that's a pretty big statement to say that. Then you get to his play in the playoffs and it's been at an elite level." Power forward Pascal Siakam (20.8 points per game) and point guard Kyle Lowry (12.4) are the only other Raptors averaging in double digits in the postseason but Lowry is shooting just 41.5 percent from the field.

ABOUT THE BUCKS: Milwaukee's four second-round victories over the Boston Celtics were by an average of 16.3 points and seven of its eight postseason wins have been by 10 or more points. Antetokounmpo's supporting class has been solid with small forward Khris Middleton (19.1) and point guards Eric Bledsoe (16.0) and George Hill (12.1) making strong contributions. Combo guard Malcolm Brogdon is a full-go for the series after scoring 10 points in 17 minutes in the clinching win over Boston after missing the previous seven-plus weeks with a foot injury.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. Antetokounmpo averaged 27 points and 15.3 rebounds as the Bucks won three of the four regular-season meetings.

2. Toronto SF OG Anunoby (abdomen) has been ruled out of the opener, and has yet to play in the postseason.

3. Middleton has made multiple 3-pointers in all nine playoff games and has made 28 overall.

PREDICTION: Bucks 108, Raptors 104

San Jose Sharks vs. St. Louis Blues Preview and Predictions 05-15-2019 in NHL

The San Jose Sharks have been in this precise position in each of the two previous rounds, having posted a convincing win in the series opener only to turn around and relinquish home-ice advantage with a loss in the following contest. The Sharks aim to get back on track Wednesday when the Western Conference final shifts to the Gateway City for Game 3 against the St. Louis Blues.

"Every series we get a great first game and the second kind of a little bit struggling," San Jose forward Tomas Hertl said after a 4-2 setback in Game 2 on Monday. "It's still fine, but we have to be better, we can't play like that." There has been little issue with the production of Logan Couture (NHL-best 13 goals, 19 points), who recorded his fourth multi-goal performance of the playoffs and second in as many games on Monday by tallying twice in a span of 1:59 during the second period. St. Louis' Jaden Schwartz has also produced as his goal in the first period of Game 2 pushed him within one of becoming the fourth player in franchise history to score at least 10 times in one playoff season. "It's definitely the (most fun) time of the year," said the 26-year-old Schwartz, who scored 11 goals in 69 regular-season games. "I had some struggles earlier that I haven't really had before, but once playoff starts ... I don't know, you just embrace the games, have fun with it. I don't really try to think too much about it."

TV: 8 p.m. ET, NBC Sports Network, CBC, Sportsnet 360, TVAS

ABOUT THE SHARKS: San Jose's third line has struggled to make its mark in the playoffs, as Joe Thornton and Kevin Labanc have mustered just one point each in the last eight contests while Marcus Sorensen is mired in a seven-game point drought. "We've got another level, I think," said the 39-year-old Thornton, who owns a team-worst minus-7 rating in the playoffs. One such defensive issue saw Thornton trailing the play as Blues defenseman Roberto Bertuzzo pinched in and scored the eventual game-winning goal late in the second period on Monday.

ABOUT THE BLUES: While much has been made of Thornton's pursuit of the Stanley Cup, St. Louis defenseman Jay Bouwmeester is on a lengthy quest of his own -- one that has spanned 16 NHL seasons and 1,184 regular-season games. "That's part of the reason why he's still playing. That's the end game," the 35-year-old Bouwmeester said of Thornton. Fellow defenseman Alex Pietrangelo set up Oskar Sundqvist's insurance goal late in the third period on Monday for his 12th point of the postseason, one shy of Schwartz for the team lead.

OVERTIME

1. St. Louis' Jordan Binnington is one win shy of becoming the 10th rookie goaltender in NHL history to reach double digits in a single postseason.

2. San Jose RW Timo Meier has six points (two goals, four assists) in his last four games.

3. The Blues failed on all five power-play attempts in Game 2 and are 1-for-26 with the man advantage in their past eight contests.

PREDICTION: Sharks 3, Blues 2

Wednesday's Diamond Notes
Kevin Rogers

Hottest team: Astros (9-1 last 10)

Houston has topped the 100-win mark in each of the last two seasons and took home the AL West crown. The Astros are well on their way to the top of the division once again as they own the top record in baseball at 28-15 following their second straight blowout of the Tigers at Comerica Park. Houston ripped Detroit in Monday’s series opener, 8-1, then followed that rout with another victory by a decisive margin, 11-4 on Tuesday. The Astros have plated 45 runs in the last four games, while scoring at least six runs in nine of their past 11 victories.

Former Tigers’ standout Justin Verlander looks to improve on a 6-1 record in his nine starts for Houston, while tossing seven innings of one-hit ball in a 3-0 shutout of Texas his last time out. Verlander has allowed one earned run or less in five of his past six trips to the mound, as the Astros seek their sixth consecutive win at Comerica Park since last season.

Coldest team: Rangers (3-9 last 12)

Texas has not been a team to back in series openers this season as the Rangers stumbled to 2-12 in Game 1’s after an 11-5 defeat at Kansas City. The Rangers have allowed at least 10 runs in each of their last three games, while falling to 5-15 away from Arlington this season. This marks the second five-game losing streak for Texas in 2019, but the Rangers are actually listed as a road favorite heading into Wednesday’s action with the Royals.

Mike Minor is winless in his last two appearances for Texas since striking out 13 batters in seven innings of a 15-1 rout of Seattle on April 27. In Minor’s past two starts, the Rangers have scored a grand total of two runs in losses to the Blue Jays and Astros, while Texas is 1-3 in his four road appearances. Last season, Minor defeated the Royals at home, 8-4, but allowed four earned runs in six innings of work.

Hottest pitcher: Gio Gonzalez, Brewers (1-0, 1.69 ERA)

Gonzalez ended last season with Milwaukee after getting traded by Washington, but the southpaw is back with the Brewers in spite of not starting 2019 with the organization. The veteran left-hander signed a minor-league deal with the Yankees in March, but never started with the big club as he opted out of his deal to re-sign with Milwaukee. It has worked out for both parties as Gonzalez has yielded three earned runs in three starts, while Milwaukee is 2-1 in his three outings. Gonzalez strung together seven scoreless innings against the Cubs last Friday in a 7-0 victory at Wrigley Field, but he is winless in his previous three trips to Philadelphia since 2017.

Coldest pitcher: Sonny Gray, Reds (0-4, 4.15 ERA)

Another pitcher that changed squads in the offseason expecting positive results hasn’t seen that return in 2019. Gray has started eight games for the Reds, but Cincinnati has won only two of those outings, while the right-hander doesn’t have a win to his credit. The Reds are 2-1 in Gray’s last three starts at Great American Ballpark as Cincinnati continues its series with Chicago. The Cubs topped the Reds in the opener, 3-1, marking the ninth win in the last 10 matchups with Cincinnati since last season.

Biggest OVER run: Red Sox (9-3 last 12)

Boston squandered a 3-0 lead and lost to Colorado on Tuesday, 5-4 in 11 innings despite the Rockies striking out 24 times. The game barely cashed the OVER of 8 ½, as the Red Sox offense couldn’t build off the 34-run output from the weekend sweep of the Mariners. Boston has now hit the OVER in six of the last seven games at Fenway Park, as the Sox send out left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez to the mound on Wednesday in the series finale against Colorado. Rodriguez has seen the OVER hit in seven of eight starts this season, including all four home outings.

Biggest UNDER run: Cubs (6-0 last six)

Chicago is right behind Houston for the best record in baseball entering Wednesday’s action at 25-14 after winning its 13th game in the last 15 tries in Tuesday’s 3-1 triumph at Cincinnati. The Cubs’ pitching staff has stepped up following a rough start to the season as Chicago has allowed two runs or less in six of the past seven games. Since getting shut out by Milwaukee on Friday, 7-0, the Cubs have yielded three runs in the previous 33 innings, while not scoring more than four runs in any of the last six games. Yu Darvish takes the mound for the Cubs on Wednesday as the right-hander is 3-1 to the UNDER his past four starts, but two of those UNDERS came on totals above 10 as tonight’s total opened at 9.

Matchup to watch: Cardinals vs. Braves

Heading into Tuesday’s opener at SunTrust Park, St. Louis had lost three straight games, while Atlanta was flying high with three consecutive wins to wrap up its road trip. The Cardinals roughed up the Braves in the series opener, 14-3 as St. Louis went deep four times, including Marcell Ozuna knocking out a three-run shot to start the scoring in the first inning.

Atlanta slipped to 10-11 at home and 1-4 in the past five series openers at SunTrust Park. Mike Soroka has been impressive in five starts for the Braves this season by compiling a 1.21 ERA, while not allowing more than two runs in any outing. Soroka picked up a no-decision his last time out at Arizona as he tossed six innings and allowed four hits and one run, but the Braves lost in extra innings, 3-2. The right-hander has not received much run support as the Braves have scored three runs or fewer in four of his five starts.

The Cardinals picked up their first road victory since May 1, while snapped a four-game skid away from Busch Stadium. Michael Wacha has not been sharp this season for the Redbirds, but he is benefiting from a strong performance from the St. Louis lineup. The Cards are 4-1 in Wacha’s last five starts, thanks to six or more runs or support, including a 17-spot dropped by St. Louis in a 13-run rout of Pittsburgh last Thursday.

Betcha didn’t know: The Nationals are an absolute disaster right now, coming off Tuesday’s 6-2 home defeat to the Mets. Washington fell to 6-14 the last 20 games, but three of those wins have come with Patrick Corbin on the mound. The former Arizona southpaw gets the nod on Wednesday against New York for the third time this season as the Nationals won a 6-5 decision on March 31, followed by a 6-5 setback at Citi Field less than a week later.

G1 - Raptors at Bucks
Tony Mejia

Eastern Conference Finals – Game 1

No. 2 Toronto at No. 1 Milwaukee (-6/217.5), TNT, 8:30 p.m. ET

Jan. 31 – Bucks (+2.5) 105 at Raptors 92 (Under 232)
Jan. 5 – Raptors (+5.5) 123 at Bucks 116 (Over 227)
Dec. 9 – Bucks (+5) 104 at Raptors 99 (Under 229.5)
Oct. 29 – Bucks (+2) 124 vs. Raptors 109 (Over 222.5)

When the season began, the Bucks were a 14-to-1 choice to win the Eastern Conference per Westgate, while the Raptors were the second choice at 2-to-1, just behind the favored Celtics (4-to-5).

See, the NBA isn’t entirely predictable.

Milwaukee was 60-to-1 to win it all when the regular season began but was down to just 5-to-1 when the playoffs opened. They were 4-to-5 to win the East while the Raptors were 3-to-1 to win the conference and 14-to-1 to win a title.

Boston and Philadelphia have been defeated, leaving the top seeds in the East to vie for the right to try and spoil Golden State’s threepeat bid.

If you’re holding one of those Bucks futures’ from October, you’re counting on the continued blossoming of likely MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, who will be tasked with helping deny Toronto its first NBA Finals appearance by slowing down Kawhi Leonard.

With Warriors star Kevin Durant on the mend for at least another few days, the top forwards remaining in the playoffs will square off to decide a champion in the Eastern Conference in the type of duel we haven’t seen since Durant denied LeBron James a second title with Cleveland before leaving for L.A. James has faced off with Leonard and Paul George, while Durant has also tangled with Anthony Davis. This playoff matchup between the “Greek Freak” and Leonard, who is coming off authoring the first series-clinching buzzer-beater in a Game 7 in NBA history, is on that level.

Two of the best basketball players who have ever lived, Hall of Fame types who are still writing their story, are about to treat us to a show. They won’t directly be defending one another for 40-plus minutes, but they should be in the picture coming over to help, be it to shade or blitz, and their length and defensive IQ will make for intense interactions.

Antetokounmpo and his supporting cast, which also features All-Star Khris Middleton and point guard Eric Bledsoe, comes in as a -330 favorite over Toronto, which will get you +260 if you want to party with the underdog. Leonard has been incredible this postseason, averaging 31.8 points, but it remains to be seen if he can get enough help from Pascal Siakam, Kyle Lowry, Marc Gasol and Danny Green after narrowly surviving the younger, banged-up 76ers despite minimal contributions from the bench.

With Malcolm Brogdon back in the mix after missing most of the past few months due to a plantar fascia tear in his right foot, the Bucks have a much deeper group, homecourt advantage and the edge in coaching given the work Mike Budenholzer has done in his first season in Milwaukee. Nick Nurse, an assistant with past Raptors teams in his first season in the head seat, may be overmatched here. Not being able to rely on Fred VanVleet to be productive and going barely seven-deep in his rotation ties his hands significantly.

Riding Raptors’ futures for value’s sake carries the risk that they’ll be unable to steal a game at the new Fiserv Forum after such a physical, taxing series against the 76ers, which means you would be better off waiting until they get back home for a Game 3 since the odds would be even better if they’re down 2-0. The Bucks have been off since eliminating the Celtics last Tuesday after a 116-91 rout, their seventh double-digit win this postseason. The team that led the league in wins, points per game and margin of victory should have fresh legs in addition to a homecourt edge giving them a significant Game 1 advantage.

“Backing the Bucks in the playoffs has been easy money with Milwaukee covering the spread in all eight of its victories, “ said NBA expert Kevin Rogers. “Only one of those wins came by less than 10 points, which was Game 3 of the Boston series, 123-116. The Raptors haven’t been listed as an underdog many times this season, as Toronto has cashed in 10 of 16 opportunities when receiving points. Toronto won at Golden State as 7 ½-point underdogs in in mid-December, 113-93, but Leonard didn’t suit up in losses in the 6 to 6 ½-point ‘dog range at Indiana and Philadelphia.”

The Bucks’ lone playoff loss to date came at home in the series opener against the Celtics, but they’re looking to avoid a repeat since they’ve been a united chorus over the past few days preaching the importance of capturing Game 1 because rallying against Toronto would be far more difficutt than it was against Boston. Milwaukee is providing no bulletin board material, going the extra mile in buttering up the competition. Bledsoe hinted Lowry would be a future Hall-of-Famer. Budenholzer is doing whatever he can to drill it into his Bucks that they must capture these early home games to snuff out confidence and avoid going into a difficult venue tied, having surrendered the homecourt advantage they worked so hard to get during a 60-win regular season.

That includes winning the head-to-head series 3-1. Milwaukee outscored the Raptors by an average of 112.3-105.8 and held it to just 42 percent shooting while knocking down 47 percent of its shots. The Bucks won twice in Toronto, which is especially impressive since the Raptors finished 32-9 at Scotiabank Arena, the third-best home mark behind the Nuggets (34-7) and the Bucks (33-8). Being able to take care of business in front of the paying customers will go a long way in deciding this series.

Antetokonmpo averaged 27 points, 15 rebounds and five assists while shooting 58.5 percent from the field in three games against Toronto this season. Leonard shot just 42.6 percent from the field in his three games against the Bucks, averaging 22 points, 7.7 boards and four assists. Lowry struggled mightily in his three matchups with the Bucks, shooting just 23.3 percent from the field while averaging 6.3 points and 8.3 assists. The Raptors were much better when he looked in sync against the 76ers, so his ability to effectively deal with Bledsoe and Brogdon, physical defenders who have a size advantage, will go a long way in dictating how effective Toronto can be as an underdog.

The total for Game 1 opened at 218 and the number has been pushed down to 217 as of Wednesday. VegasInsider.com totals expert Chris David offered up his thoughts on the number and his top wager.

“During the regular season, we saw the total results finish in a 2-2 stalemate between the pair but the two games played in Milwaukee went ‘over’ while the ‘under’ was 2-0 in the games played at Scotiabank Arena. Surprisingly, the Raptors offense was much better away from home versus the Bucks as they averaged 116 PPG in two trips to Wisconsin,” David said. “Expecting the Raptors to get near that number in this series could be wishful thinking based on what we’ve seen from their offense (100.4 PPG) in five road playoff games. The ‘under’ went 4-1 in those games and the lone ‘over’ barely connected in Game 6 at Philadelphia.

“For Game 1, it’s apparent that the oddsmakers are expecting less offense knowing that the four regular season games had totals ranging from 222 ½ to 232. It’s hard to argue with the opening total knowing that Toronto’s defense has been lights out in the playoffs (96 PPG), but this will easily be its toughest test. Milwaukee led the league in scoring (118 PPG) and its numbers at home (119.2 PPG) have been off the charts, plus Budenholzer’s squad hasn’t been slowed down in the postseason. In five playoff games at home, the Bucks have averaged 120 PPG in their four wins and were held to 90 points in the Game 1 loss to the Celtics in the conference semifinals and you could argue that the effort versus Boston was due to a six-day layoff. I believe Milwaukee will be ready to go on Wednesday and my strongest lean for Game 1 would be on the Bucks Team Total Over (111 ½).”

Nikola Mirotic is expected to remain in Milwaukee’s starting lineup in order to help spread the floor, but that could leave the Bucks vulnerable on the defensive end. Middleton slumped late in the Bucks series but is shooting nearly 47 percent from 3-point range in these playoffs. With Brogdon back, George Hill producing and the Raps’ depth being issue, operating at a faster pace may benefit host Milwaukee in this opener. Backing the first-quarter to go ‘over’ 54 is highly recommended. The Bucks should be at full strength. Toronto has multiple guys hurting, but it could get a boost towards the end of this series with talented, versatile forward OG Anunoby nearing a return from an emergency appendectomy.

Game 2 will be played Thursday night in downtown Milwaukee.

Your Wednesday comp play will be for Toronto and Milwaukee to land Under the total in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference Finals series.

If the Raptors are going to have any shot at making the NBA Finals, then they will need to slow down the Bucks in this series. Toronto has done a wonderful job this postseason in keeping their opponents from cracking the century mark, as they have played 12 games so far, and 9 times they have kept their foe from reaching the 100 points plateau.

By doing that, the Under is 9-3 in Toronto's 12 playoff games contested, and I think we start this final series in the East with another Under.

Milwaukee has played only 9 games thus far in the playoffs, and while the Over holds a slight 5-4 advantage through those 9, it should be pointed out that the last 2 Bucks games in this postseason have both landed Under, and the Under has connected in 3 of their 5 postseason games at home this playoffs.

These teams played 4 times during the regular campaign, the Over/Under a 2-2 split. 2 of the last 3 in the series have landed Under the total.

With the Bucks having been off since last Wednesday, the teams could be slower to get out of the gate this Wednesday night.

COMPLIMENTARY WINNER

My free play for Wednesday is on the Under in Game 3 of the Western Conference Final between the San Jose Sharks and St. Louis Blues.

With St. Louis changing its defensive strategy in Game 2, it was able to steal home ice. Now the Blues come home with the momentum and motivation, not to mention Jordan Binnington in net, and San Jose will find things tough offensively.

At the other end, guys like Brent Burns and Marc-Edouard Vlasic won't be to kind, especially in the neutral zone, as I expect them to limit the space for the Blues forwards, much like we saw them do when they needed to silence the Vegas Golden Knights and Colorado Avalanche in the first two rounds.

Goaltender Martin Jones has to have a big game for San Jose in this very pivotal game.

Look for this one to stay low.

5* UNDER Blues-Sharks

Remember when the Sharks and Blues were tied 1-1 in the 2016 Western Conference Final? San Jose won Game 3 at home, and went on to win in six games. The Blues would like to return that favor. I don't think it happens.

San Jose is 11-7 when a series is tied 1-1 (.611), including a perfect 6-0 series record when splitting the first two games at home. On the flipside, St. Louis is 12-19 in 31 previous best-of-seven series that were tied 1-1 (.387), including a 4-8 mark when starting on the road.

San Jose will get some offensive support for Sharks forward Logan Couture, who leads the League with 13 goals and 19 points in the playoffs. He's scored twice in both games of the Western Conference Final. Joe Pavelski is back, and that is a plus, and when you mix in guys like Tomas Hertl, Evander Kane, Jumbo Joe, Kevin Labanc, this is a dangerous team.

The defensemen will also make a difference in this one, as Erik Karlsson's offensive skills from the blueline is tremendous, Brent Burns' slapshot is deadly and Marc-Edouard Vlasic can strike at any time.

Sharks steal back home ice tonight.

Wednesday's comp play is the Rays on the Run Line to take care of business again versus the Marlins.

Miami is just not a good team!

The Marlins were blanked 4-0 yesterday by the Rays, as Miami has not lost 30 of their 40 games played already this season.

The Rays need to keep getting healthy at the Marlins expense, as Tampa did drop 2 of their previous 3 at home to the Yankees and their lead in the A.L. East has shrunk with both the Yanks and the Red Sox now in hot pursuit.

Ryne Stanek is slated to "open" this game for Tampa Bay, and while he is 0-1, his ERA of 2.57 tells me that the Marlins won't be opening this game with a rally at the dish.

The Rays have won 7 of the 10 games that Stanek has started this season, while the Marlins are just 1-7 when Jose Urena makes the start this year.

Urena is only 1-5 this year, and his ERA is 4.58.

This one is a no brainer to me!

Side with Tampa for another 2 runs or better win over Miami.

I'm on a 13-6 run with free plays and tonight I look to make it 14 of 20.

I like the Boston Red Sox to pounce on the Colorado Rockies. The Rox snuck a 5-4 win last night from the Crimson Hose, and tonight the defending World Series champions will be out for revenge.

Though pitchers are automatically listed when making Run Line wagers, I am insisting you DO NOT worry about who the scheduled starters are. In the event of a scratch, you MUST re-wager the game with the new pitcher(s) who are scheduled. This play will stand no matter who pitches for either team.

After all, we saw Chris Sale dominate hitters, while the Rockies ended up striking out 24 times. And they still won the game. So I don't care about the pitchers as much as I do the Red Sox bouncing back with one of the best lineups in baseball.

The Red Sox had won 11 of 13 prior to last night's loss, and we've seen the emergence of J.D. Martinez, who has four home runs in his last six games following a 15-game drought. Rafael Devers has eight RBIs in his last four contests.

Over their last 10 games, Boston has won eight behind a .281 batting average, and has outscored teams by 51 runs. In that span, Devers is 19-for-45 with four doubles, three home runs and 12 RBIs for Boston.

Look for the Red Sox to bounce back with a huge win tonight.
