My numbers see the Rockies beating the Reds more than half the time in their Friday series opener, giving us a nice overlay on the road underdog. My projections have Colorado winning 52 percent of the time. The Rockies saw their struggling lineup get back on track with 11 hits and eight runs in a comeback victory Thursday against the Nationals. They also hold a 5-2 edge in their past seven meetings with Cincinnati.

My projections see Atlanta winning in 62 percent of simulations, providing a relative bargain for the price. Atlanta has won four straight road starts by Mike Soroka and is 9-1 in his outings against NL East opponents. The Phillies are 1-10 in Zach Elfin's starts against winning opponents.

There's value on the Phillies behind Jake Arrieta, who's looked like a different pitcher since the All-Star Break. While Braves ace Mike Soroka has been dynamite on the road (6-0, 1.13 ERA), he's shown some cracks lately, posting a 4.08 ERA this month and allowing a .329 batting average against. Bryce Harper has had two days off and should be ready to mash. Play the home dog.

At first glance you would think the value lies with the home underdog, but that isn't the case with Arrieta on the mound against this Braves lineup. The .383 wOBA allowed against left-handed hitters is concerning as is the .372 wOBA allowed in 15 innings this month. Mike Soroka has been very tough on right-handed hitters this season and the Phillies, due to injuries, are very right-handed. I make the Braves -137 road favorites.

Big price on the ML for the first 5...but the Pirates sure look just dead in the water. I think maybe they will have a little spark early with a new series starting and being swept at home facing a division rival. The A's come in to this game having lost four of their last five games and were up 3-0 last night before giving up 11 unanswered runs to the Rangers. The Rangers had been in a terrible funk over the last few weeks going 2-9 in their previous 11 games prior to this series. However, five of those losses came to the Astros. They rebounded last night and look to keep the momentum going tonight.

The Rangers will start Lance Lynn here and he's been great this year except theres been a bit of regression over the last two months. He's 12-6 with a 3.93 ERA on the season and is coming off a couple of rough starts where he allowed a total of nine runs through 13 innings while giving up a total of 15 hits. The OVER has hit in his last two starts as well.

The A's will have Daniel Mengden on the mound. Mengden has been mediocre at best this year, entering this game with a 4.65 ERA. In four July starts, his ERA is 5.48. The OVER is a perfect 4-0 in those four outings.

The Texas’ lineup showed they can still be dangerous even without Joey Gallo as evidenced by their 11-run outburst last night. The over is 10-3 the last 13 times these teams have played each other, and I expect that trend to continue here.

I'm betting the OVER in this game between these two teams.

The Padres are coming off a long east coast road trip and are 3-9 in their last 12 overall, 0-7 in their last seven at home, 1-4 in Lucchesi’s last five starts, and 0-5 in the last five meetings between the to teams.

Winning is contagious and this Giants team has a swagger about them now they didn't before. There may very well be some regression coming with this team but no way is it coming from the Padres in this spot. Expect the Giants to come out firing tonight at the plate and on the mound.



I'm betting the GIANTS on the ML in this game and look for them to keep rolling towards a wild card spot
