I'll take my chances here with New Orleans as a 4-point dog against the Nets. I'm just not a big Kyrie Irving fan. He's an outstanding talent, but I just don't think he's a good teammate. He's a ball-demanding, high-volume shooter that I think really destroys any kind of team chemistry. Sure he had a triple double in his last game against the Pistons, but he was 8 of 21 shooting and the Nets lost the game.
I know the Pelicans are coming in with a 1-5 record, but I've licked what I've seen from this New Orleans team without Zion. The schedule has been brutal. Their 5 losses are to the Raptors, Mavericks, Rockets, Warriors and Thunder. They were in all of those games.

The UNDER is definitely worth a look in Monday's NBA matchup between the Bucks and Timberwolves. I just don't see these two going off offensively, especially with Minnesota being without their best player in Karl Anthony Towns. Sure the T-Wolves scored 131 in the first game without Towns, but that was against a bad Wizards team.
The other big key here is the Bucks aren't going to be pushing the pace like we would typically see with them playing their 3rd game in 4 nights. This is also a bit of a flat spot for Milwaukee, coming off a big revenge game against the Raptors (Toronto knocked them out of the playoffs) and a big game on deck against Kawhi and the Clippers Wednesday.
It doesn't hurt to have an incredible system backing a low scoring game. UNDER is 37-13 (74%) since 1996 when you have a total of 200 or more with a road team off a win by 10 or more and opponent coming off a game where they scored 130 or more. Take the UNDER!

They will be highly motivated for a win to avoid falling below .500 on the season after a 3-3 start against a very tough schedule. And they want some revenge after getting swept by the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals, so they won’t feel sorry for them at all.

Monday comp play comes in the NBA as I side with the Suns to hand the Sixers their first loss of the season.


Philly comes into this game as the last remaining unbeaten team in the NBA, but they will once again play this game without the suspended Joel Embiid who missed Philadelphia's weekend win at Portland 129-128 as the 76ers rallied in Rip City from 21-points down to squeak past the Blazers.


Phoenix has been a real pleasant surprise, as they come into this game with a 4-2 mark and a perfect 6-0 against the spread mark to go along with their straight up record.


The Sixers swept the pair of series meetings last year and have won 3 in a row over the Suns, but Phoenix is 3-2 against the spread the last 5 times the teams have played one another, and this young Suns team led by Devin Booker does have some nice support with veterans Ricky Rubio, Dario Saric, Kelly Oubre Jr. and Aron Baynes to provide team depth.


Philadelphia is in a plum spot for a letdown after their weekend comeback in Portland, and tonight Phoenix is up for the occasion.

For Monday, let's play this NFC East meeting between the Cowboys and the Giants to land Over the posted total.

After 5 straight series Unders between the teams, the last meeting of last season landed well Over the posted price, and the first meeting between the teams this season back on September 8th also landed Over the posted total. In that game, Eli Manning was still the starter for New York, as the Cowboys easily took care of business, 35-17.

Dallas plays this game off their bye, and when last we saw them, they had everything working on their home field against Philadelphia, as they blitzed the Eagles by a 37-10 final in a game that did hold Under the total. The Cowboys had played their previous pair Over the posted total, and are still over the total in 4 of their 7 games for the year.

New York has been Over the total in 2 of their last 3 games, as the Giants defense continues to allow points to be scored against them. Big Blue has allowed 27 points or more in each of their last 4 and in 7 of their 8 games overall this season. That obviously includes the season-opener in Dallas.

The Cowboys are making their second appearance at MetLife Stadium with their first being that 24-22 debacle at the hands of the Jets back on October 13th. With the Cowboys a game up on the Eagles in the division standings, they cannot afford a sluggish start tonight against the G-Men.

Look for Dallas to get out of the gate quickly tonight and look for this Monday night Week Nine closer to end up slipping Over the posted total.

I'll take my chances here with New Orleans as a 4-point dog against the Nets. I'm just not a big Kyrie Irving fan. He's an outstanding talent, but I just don't think he's a good teammate. He's a ball-demanding, high-volume shooter that I think really destroys any kind of team chemistry. Sure he had a triple double in his last game against the Pistons, but he was 8 of 21 shooting and the Nets lost the game.
I know the Pelicans are coming in with a 1-5 record, but I've licked what I've seen from this New Orleans team without Zion. The schedule has been brutal. Their 5 losses are to the Raptors, Mavericks, Rockets, Warriors and Thunder. They were in all of those games.
I also like the rest edge for New Orleans. Pelicans are playing just their 3rd game in the last 7 days, while the Nets are playing their 3rd game in the last 4 days. Give me New Orleans!

The Key: The Phoenix Suns are very close to being 6-0 this season. I think we are past the point of thinking this has been a fluky start by the Suns. They are actually a very good basketball team. The signing of Ricky Rubio got bad reviews in the offseason, but it certainly looks like the Suns knew what they were doing now. Having Rubio run the offense at PG puts Devin Booker at his more natural SG position. And let’s face it this is a young team full of talent that has just finally taken that leap forward. The 76ers are 5-0 and getting too much respect from oddsmakers as a result. They have 3 wins by 6 points or fewer. And now they are without Joel Embiid with a suspension and his loss will be felt tonight. The 76ers are 11-24 ATS off 2 or more consecutive wins over the last 2 years. The Suns are 9-1 ATS when playing against a team that wins more than 70% of their games over the last 2 years. Take Phoenix.
