The Saints offense just lit up a great defense at home, and I don't see why they'll slow down against a solid but not great Colts unit here. Drew Brees looked excellent in that game, enough so that we can put worries of another late-season swoon to rest. Jacoby Brissett finally looked healthy last week, and I think he can lead the Colts offense to a nice point total, considering how well they do on third downs (No. 9 in NFL) and in the red zone (No. 7). Both these defenses just gave up 500-plus yards of offense in their last matchups, so why isn't this total higher?

You can throw out all of the Mavericks’ stats in this one. Yes, they are 9-2 ATS on the road, but that was with MVP candidate Luka Doncic leading the charge. He will be out with an ankle injury in this matchup against a Milwaukee team that will be without G Eric Bledsoe (lower leg). Still, Fs Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton are healthy and the Bucks are playing at home, so I’ll take them to cover this lofty line.

The Mavericks have lost two of three after winning 10 of their previous 11 contests. Expect their struggles to continue.

2-Unit Play. Take #833 UC-Santa Barbara (-6) over Idaho State (9:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 16)
Idaho State is playing its first home game against a D-I opponent. This team is small and weak, and UC-SB should be able to do what it wants on the inside. If Max Heiddeigger is able to come back from his concussion (he's missed the last four games) then this game should be a blowout. Even without their lead guard, the Gauchos are the better team here.

2-Unit Play. Take #837 Kent State (-2) over UC-Irvine (7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 16)
The Golden Flashes are 8-1 and they have some nice wins over decent teams like Wright State and Fort Wayne. This game is on a neutral site, so they won't have to worry about UC-Irvine's home crowd. The Anteaters are not as good this year as they have been the past four or five seasons, as they don't have the same size and experience that we're used to seeing. Two of their six wins have come against D-II teams and they have losses to Detroit and Cal Baptist. I think Kent State is the play here.

2-Unit Play. Take #827 Eastern Illinois (-1.5) over Western Illinois (8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 16)
Eastern Illinois is a vastly improved team. They brought back four of five starters from last year and added a quality guard in Marvin Johnson. They have been up and down to this point, but they are coming off a nice road win at Milwaukee and they are simply better than WIU. Western Illinois has just one win over a D-I program this season and this is their first game in 12 days. They have lost at home to weaker teams than EIU. And even though they've played a lot of close games the reality is that they have lost them. WIU doesn't play any defense. And I think that their offense will be rusty after such a long layoff.

The Grizzlies have won three of their last four games, but the victories came against bad teams. It will be an entirely different story against the Heat, who steamrolled them by 19 points in Miami earlier this season. Despite the fact the Heat will be missing Gs Goran Dragic (groin) and Justise Winslow (back), I still think Fs Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo can lead them to a road win - and cover along the way.

It was a heartbreaking loss for the Saints last weekend. I don’t think it will mentally affect them tonight, but it might physically. This is a team that lost a couple defenders this week who were put on IR and at all three levels of their defense are not operating at 100 percent. The Colts have their issues this year on offense, but they do have a pretty good defense and they are a desperate team fighting for their playoff lives. The playoffs might be out of reach, but they are not going down without a fight tonight. The possible return of TY Hilton could really give them a great shot in this game. The Saints are not the same team they once were on defense. I just don’t think this team should be heavy favorites. This year the NFL has been so wide open that truly just about any team can lose on any given week. New Orleans is missing key guys in the trenches on both sides of the ball and I believe Indianapolis can win in these areas tonight. Marlon Mack is a capable running back that can keep his team in the game. The Colts play a very boring style of football which can really help slow things down therefore limiting the possessions Brees has to score. I think there is really good value tonight in the dog. Take the Colts.

The top bettor in action tonight for NCAABB is the same one we have followed all weekend so I will continue to roll with him. Tonight he has an above average wager on Western Illinois +1.5 over Eastern Illinois. I would advise 0.60 units on Western Illinois +1.5. The current LJP score is 3. With the top bettor action in other sports tonight, it is a mixed picture. The NFL and NBA have nothing clean and no major sharp betting. Same can be said for NHL except there is a good sharp lean to St. Louis. Debated St. Louis but not enough to warrant a play. I feel like it would be forced.
