Find a few significant advantages that indicate the offenses should be the best units on the floor in this matchup. Each of these offenses has the athleticism to generate points in the open court, get to the rim in the half court, score from beyond the three point arc and draw fouls that turn into free throw points. For Miami there’s a sizeable quickness edge for C Bam Adebayo over his Celtics counterparts Daniel Theiss & Enes Kanter. That edge figures to translate into solid scoreboard production. Boston’s unique ability to have five triple threat perimeter weapons that can dissect Miami’s zone will also likely lead to excessive scoring. Boston’s youth has shown up thus far on the defensive side where they’ve yielded 119 & 124 points. Committing a high number of fouls has been troublesome for the Celtics and Miami has the depth and weapons to exploit their defense. Off of a poor shooting day yesterday versus Toronto which owns one of the NBA’s elite defenses, look for the Heat to bounce back. The starting guard tandem of Robinson & Nunn (1-9 on 3PA in that game) are likely to improve those numbers substantially. Each of the offenses in this matchup are capable of 112+ which makes this a solid “over” play. Expectation here is that this one lands in the neighborhood of 227 or higher.

We could see some tired legs coming out of the Heat bench and in the second half the to deep Celtics will win and cover this game.

Big price, but it seems very well justified to me. Fact is, I made the Rockies -220 so there's actually line value even at this number. Kevin Gausman has been around for ages now, but this is his first ever start at Coors. That's a good long term fade angle to begin with. Gausman is also simply not very good, and I expect him to get raked by the Rockies today. Marquez is pitching terrific ball. His numbers at Coors aren't close to his road stats but that's understandable. However, the way he's throwing it to start this short season is extremely impressive and I expect a good outing here. No prob for me to lay it tonight with the Rockies.

Sox hitters struggle to make contact against big velocity like what Brandon Woodruff is bringing. Plus, after having to use the bullpen for seven innings on Monday night, I wouldn't be surprised if the Brewers find plenty of runs late after getting past Lucas Giolito (who isn't a terrible matchup for them himself).

In this juiced ball era I like to look for pitchers who don't get a lot of groundball contact, and give up a lot of hard contact. Particularly when they're favored. We've found one tonight in Angels' starter Andrew Heaney. The good news for the Angels is that Heaney has great strikeout and walk rates, but when he does allow contact, it can lead to trouble. The kind of trouble that makes Seattle attractive at this price. Also, if you're looking for a fun prop, take a shot on Seattle's Kyle Seager to go deep. Even though Heaney's a lefty, Seager matches up well with him.

There are worrying signs about Madison Bumgarner through his first two starts with Arizona. While his ERA isn't horrible at 4.09, his xFIP is a terrifying 5.53. His groundball rate of 25.8% is absurdly low, yet even for all the fly balls he's giving up, only 5.9% have left the park. That's likely to change against this Astros lineup. The fact Bumgarner's fastball is averaging 88 mph after checking in at 91.5 mph for his career isn't a great sign, either.

This is a great pitching duel inside Miller Park. When I say inside I'm guessing the roof will be closed. The park plays 1.4 runs fewer with the roof closed than open. Chicago's Lucas Giolito finally broke through last year with a tremendous May and June, going 9-1 with a 2.05 ERA. He is coming off a six-inning shutout performance. Giolito's stuff is in the top 20 in baseball. Meanwhile Milwaukee's Brandon Woodruff's stuff is electric, featuring a 98 mile per hour fastball and a nasty 87 mile per hour changeup. Woodruff is coming off 6.1 innings allowing one hit and one walk while striking out 10. Take the Under.

Going to back Milwaukee here as I expect a better game from them tonight after having had not played a game for a few days they looked a little rusty last night. With a game under their belt they will be better tonight. Milwaukee sends Brandon Woodruff to the mound and over the last 2+ seasons when he pitches at home the Brewers are 14-1 in his starts. It also must be noted that White Sox starter Lucas Giolito has struggled in Interleague play as in 10 interleague starts Giolito is 1-6 with a 6.96 ERA allowing 33 walks and 12 home runs in 54 1/3 innings of work. I know he pitched well in his last outing but that was against Cleveland who can’t buy a run right now. TAKE MILWAUKEE as my 3% MLB BEST BET.
