Veteran has been routing with no success of late, so this cutback should work, based on her sprint form, and she also catches a group loaded with speed; look out.


#7 Bel Cuore
Price player has a hint of a rating gear, which should work well here, as that will get her first run on the pick, though she's a bit outgunned on figures; second-best.


#8 Heartbustingirl
Pace presser did well to draw outside the other speed, and she hasn't missed the EX in six starts of late, though she does meet tougher today; mixed signals here.


Race Summary
Pace makes the race and there's a ton of it here, and that should really help the chances of the 1, while hurting those of nearly everyone else, so play her aggressively to win and place, while getting some additional value by keying her to kick off the early Pk4 as well, since that will allow for some more coverage in the ensuing legs.


Finger Lakes - Race #3

#7 City Bird Flying
Lightly raced missed woke up last time when a distant 2nd, in what was the first sign of life she's shown in five starts, and there's only one to fear here, and even she's no great shakes, and the price on this miss will be much better; look out.


#8 Molly's Nighthawk
Lifetime maiden is clearly best on paper and wins this by a furlong with her best, but her local bow last time was much, much slower than her bet, so it's clear she's not nearly the same, and yet will be bet off the board again; backwheel time.


#1 Bug Tales
Well-drawn filly wasn't far behind the pick in 3rd, in what was her route debut too, so there's reason to think she's now going the right way now, and the price will be a lot better here too, if you're a believer she's turned the corner; exotics appeal.


Race Summary
That 5-1 ML on the pick would be enough risk-reward to see if she has in fact turned the corner, and with just the 8 to be scared of, if at all, you can play her to win and place, and especially in the early Pk4 as well, as budget players will flock to 'Molly's, even though there's no way to bank on today finally being her day.


Finger Lakes - Race #7

Major player was a pressing on debut at the Spa, so this outside attack post is perfect, and, aside from the heavy chalk, this is a group full of unknowns; call to post the mild surprise.


#4 Thin White Duke
Deserving stiff ML favorite broke his maiden in a Spa stakes and hasn't missed the board in five starts, but there's not a lot of upside here, and the pick will get first run; second-best.


#3 Our Man Mike
Stretch runner closed to be 4th in his lone Spa start, at 7-2 as well, so they liked him, and if things get too heated up front he's got every chances to make a late dent; will be closing.


Race Summary
You won't get rich on the 6, but they will bet the 4 hard, and he showed last time it's not impossible to win a stakes as a maiden, so play the pick to win and place, and especially in the Pk5, and late Pk4 as well, as budget players will be singling the 4, even though it's 'Gravy who has the upside to really improve here off that debut.

Winless from five career turf starts, he's bringing sharp form with him on the main track, and he should be in line for a nice trip right up near the top.


#2 Atlantic Sum
Takes a slight step up for this one as he meets a decent group for the level, but he loves the local turf course and showed up with a big first effort for the new barn.


Race Summary
Atreyu drops while getting back to a course he loves, and his baseline turf effort is probably good enough to win this. 7/2 would be interesting.

Slow maiden win going short at Belterra, but she's bred to get two turns and is probably fast enough to find the top on the stretchout. Think she has a longshot chance.

Found the locals a bit more to her liking when posting that easy maiden win, and something similar to that would probably be good enough to win right back.


#4 Nomiraclesneeded
Dunked on a local group by 17 the only time she showed up here, and her only career turf try earned an okay number. She has been all or nothing so far throughout her career, and I'd expect no different tonight.


Race Summary
Perfect Doll should get overlooked on a 36-1 maiden win that produced a low figure, but there is some distance in her pedigree and the front end may be there for the taking.

Tactical speed goes off the claim brings pretty solid recent form to this and has never tried going short on the turf. She might like the trip.

R Paper Chaser should get a decent go of things from close range, and this doesn't feel like a super deep group for this level.

Is a solid contender - given the 65 speed rating from his most recent race. DR RUTHLESS - Posted a solid speed figure last time out. Has to be given a shot versus this group displaying strong figs as of late and an average speed figure of 64 under similar conditions.

KATAPULT - Has run solidly when racing a short race. Should best this field here, showing competitive figures of late.

ASTROMELIA - I think that a sprinter coming off a layoff will usually run her best in the 3rd or 4th start back. When Ortiz and Rodriguez partner up on horses the ROI has been wonderful at +270. She has the topmost earnings per start. Take a good look at this horse. AZNAVOUR - Look at this filly's PP lines. With each contest she keeps getting closer. Atop this thoroughbred on Sep 30th and Ayala is right back in the irons today. That last outing must not have been too hard on this filly for her to be able to race again so quickly. Looking at today's class rating, this thoroughbred is meeting an easier group than last time around the track at Mountaineer Park. Look for this filly to show better in this event. Last event at Mountaineer Park finishing fifth on the soft turf is no sign of her true ability.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 DILEMMA (ML=8/5), #7 MY CLAW (ML=3/1), #5 ROSES FOR DOUG (ML=5/1),

DILEMMA - I normally try to beat this kind of chalk. Extended layoff and no drop in level of competition. MY CLAW - Doesn't seem inspiring to me after the lack of any type of closing ability on September 29th. This equine doesn't have a tenacious mental state. Time-and-again finishes in the place and show hole. ROSES FOR DOUG - I can't play this habitual non-winner. Gets the task executed now and then. The speed fig last time around the track doesn't fit very well in this affair when I look at the Equibase class figure of today's contest. Mark this horse as a vulnerable competitor.

Mookie Betts and the Dodgers open their NLDS against the Padres in Game 1 Tuesday night. With San Diego's starter not set, most books didn't post a line on this game Monday night.

MLB betting odds are posted and getting action for the Tuesday schedule, with all four divisional series on the field. The Los Angeles Dodgers open their NLDS against the NL West rival San Diego Padres, while the New York Yankees look to take a 2-0 ALDS lead on the Tampa Bay Rays.

FanDuel Sportsbook provided insights on MLB opening lines and early line movement, sharp money and public betting for Tuesday’s games.

MLB line movement

Top-seeded Los Angeles swept away the Milwaukee Brewers in two games in the wild-card round, capped by a 3-0 win Thursday. San Diego needed all three games against the St. Louis Cardinals, notching a wild 11-9 win in Game 2 Thursday and a 4-0 shutout in Game 3 Friday.

By late Monday night, the Padres still hadn’t set their starter, so most sportsbooks hadn’t posted a line for this 9:38 p.m. ET Game 1 in Arlington, Texas. Check back Tuesday for updates, and keep in mind that the four league division series are at neutral sites.

New York hammered Tampa Bay 9-3 in Game 1 of their ALDS Tuesday, capped by a ninth-inning grand slam from Giancarlo Stanton. FanDuel opened Tampa Bay a -116 favorite for Game 2 and moved to -124, with New York +108 for an 8:10 p.m. ET start at San Diego’s Petco Park.

The Houston Astros rolled over the Oakland Athletics 10-5 in Game 1 of their ALDS Tuesday. For Game 2, Oakland opened -114 and the line then dipped to a -108 pick 'em for a 4:37 p.m. ET first pitch at Dodger Stadium.

Back in the NLDS, the Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves open the day with a 2:08 p.m. ET Game 1 in Houston. Both teams advanced from the wild-card round with two-game sweeps, Miami over the Chicago Cubs and Atlanta over the Cincinnati Reds. FanDuel opened Game 1 at Atlanta -205/Miami +176 and moved to -200/+174.

The Dodgers owned the best fifth winning percentage in a season in Major League history at .717 and didn't disappoint in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. Los Angeles easily eliminated Milwaukee in two games, capped off by a 2-0 shutout in the clinching contest. Clayton Kershaw delivered eight shutout innings and struck out 13 batters as the three-time Cy Young winner is returning to elite form with the Dodgers winning eight of his last nine starts.

The Padres were one of two teams pushed to three games in the Wild Card round (Athletics the other). San Diego overcame a loss in the opener and a 4-0 deficit in Game 2 to beat St. Louis, 11-9 to force a decisive third game at Petco Park. The Padres used nine pitchers to pull off a 4-0 shutout of the Cardinals in Game 3 and win a playoff series for the first time since capturing the 1998 National League pennant.

Padres' star shortstop Fernando Tatis, Jr. hit .444 against the Cardinals, including two monster home runs in the Game 2 comeback win. San Diego's pitching staff is still depleted heading into the NLDS with in-season acquisition Mike Clevinger dealing with an arm injury. Clevinger (3-2, 3.02 ERA) hopes to return against the Dodgers, while Dinelson Lamet (3-1, 2.09 ERA) is sidelined with a biceps injury.

The Dodgers are obviously the team to beat this postseason although Los Angeles has won eight straight NL West titles and has not captured a World Series title in this span. L.A. has lost three times in the NLDS since 2014, including an exit in this round last season in five games to eventual champion Washington.

These two NL West squads have never faced each other in the playoffs, as the Padres are only the second division opponent the Dodgers have ever played in the postseason (swept Arizona in 2017 NLDS). Los Angeles won six of 10 regular season meetings with San Diego, while the Padres were limited to two runs or fewer in four of the six defeats.

It's no surprise the Braves are in the NLDS, although it is Atlanta's first postseason series victory since 2001 after knocking out light-hitting Cincinnati in two games of the Wild Card round. However, Miami continued its shocking run to the Divisional Round after picking up a pair of road wins over NL Central champion Chicago.

The Braves have dealt with plenty of injuries to their starting pitching staff this season, but Atlanta shut out Cincinnati in a pair of wins in the Wild Card round over a 22-inning span. Following a 1-0 triumph in 13 innings of the series opener, the Braves broke out the bats late in a 5-0 blanking of the Reds to secure the franchise's first advancement in the playoffs in nearly 20 years.

The Marlins weren't expected to do much in the competitive NL East this season, then things got complicated when a COVID-19 outbreak happened less than a week into the season. But Miami overcame that issue and basically stayed above the .500 mark for most of the season to clinch a playoff berth for the first time since winning the World Series in 2003. The Marlins limited the Cubs to one run in a two-game sweep at Wrigley Field to improve to 5-1 in their last six games overall with all five victories coming as a substantial underdog.

On their way to their first-ever championship in 1997, the Marlins knocked off the Braves in the NLCS in the only playoff matchup in franchise history. Atlanta put together a 6-4 record against Miami this season, which included taking three of four at Truist Park late in the season. The Braves dropped 29 runs on the Marlins in a 20-run blowout on September 9, but the 'under' went 5-4-1 in the 10 meetings.

Reason: The New York Yankees are healthy for the first time all season and it's showed here in the playoffs as their bats have been on fire. The TB Rays kept them down most of the night on Monday as the score was 4-3 Yankees heading into the top of the 9th. However, the Yankees bats once again exploded in the 9th for five runs. The Yankees take a 1-0 lead in this best of five series. The Rays can ill afford to go down 0-2 in this series and will turn to Tyler Glasngow in game two. Glasnow was 5-1 for the Rays this year with a 4.08 ERA. Glasnow has not allowed more than two earned runs in any of his last three starts. The Yankees Deivi Garcia will toe the rubber on Tuesday. Garcia was 3-2 this year with a 4.98 ERA. Garcia hasn't pitched that well of late, allowing 10 earned runs over his last 9 2/3 innings. I don't see them scoring like that against A's starter Sean Manaea, who was pitched really well down the stretch and has a strong 3.26 ERA and 1.186 WHIP in 13 career starts against the Astros. He faced them once in the regular season and allowed just 1 run on 2 hits in 7 innings of a 3-1 win. Play the A's -108!

Oakland dropped the opener of this series 10-5 on Monday after blowing an early 3-0 lead. The Astros rallied with two outs in the sixth against the Oakland vaunted bullpen to take control as the Astros resurgence erupted behind two homers from Carlos Correa, one from Alex Bregman, four hits from George Springer and a go-ahead two-run single by Jose Altuve in the sixth inning. This is a poor hitting team that had one breakout game that will not continue. Houston posted a .205/.259/.326 line and averaged 2.5 rpg against Oakland in the regular season. The A's were 0 for 6 with runners in scoring position which loomed large as the young Houston bullpen dealt five scoreless innings. Sean Manaea gets the ball for Oakland and he is riding a seven-game streak of allowing three runs or less. He dominated the Astros in his one start against them three weeks ago, allowing one run on two hits in seven innings. Framber Valdez is coming off a pair of solid outings but his command has been inconsistent all season. Here, we play against American League teams starting a pitcher who is working on seven or more days rest and with an offense that is hitting .260 or less going up against a starting pitcher with an ERA between 4.20 and 4.70. The Houston Astros are heating up at the right time, first sweeping Minnesota in the Wild Card round before winning the opener of this best-of-five ALDS against Oakland.
I like the Astros to keep rolling today with left-hander Framber Valdez (5-3, 3.57 ERA) on the mound. Valdez held Minnesota to a pair of hits when working five innings out of the bullpen last Tuesday. He held Oakland to one earned run with nine Ks through seven frames earlier this season.
As for A's starter Sean Manaea (4-3, 4.50 ERA), the left-hander has not pitched since September 23 and has allowed six runs on 13 hits in 11 2/3 innings in his last two starts.
Neither team is hitting left-handers particularly well, but I'm giving Houston the edge in this matchup.
Astros are 8-0 in their last 8 playoff games as an underdog. Astros are 8-2 in their last 10 Divisional Playoff games. Athletics are 2-7 in their last 9 playoff games.

Let's ride the hot hand again here as the Astros look to stay undefeated in the postseason and grab a 2-0 series lead on the A's on Tuesday. You could certainly argue that Oakland is very fortunate to even be in this series after really struggling at the plate against the White Sox in the Wild Card round. The A's couldn't keep up with the Astros bats yesterday and I think they'll be hard-pressed to do so here as well. Framber Valdez has proven to be a very serviceable arm for the 'Stros this season and enters this start having worked at least six innings in nine of his last 11 starts going back to August 2nd. Meanwhile, A's starter Sean Manaea has lasted six innings in just two of his 11 outings here in 2020. Take Houston (8*).
