The chalk will be bet hard off a pair of in-the-money finishes, though neither was all that fast or threatening, at very shorts odds as well; making her prove it on top.


35 Bravo Regina
Logical sort has run well in her last two and got the two-turn test out of the way last time, though she too is slow on figures, and will be overbet as well; underneath only.


Race Summary
You won't see that 6-1 ML on the pick, though even half that seems fair, as there's no one to fear here and her debut was as sharp as any of their's on figures, so play her to win and place, and especially to kick off the early Pk4 as well, as she seems to have found the right group for a breakthrough.

Stalker has been facing state-bred allowance runners and middling, and while this might be a tougher group, it's also loaded with speed; upset special.


#7 Freedom Passage
The chalk will get first run and has posted two big figures off the Ness claim, but she may get fried on the hot chase behind all the speed; second-best.


#5 Like a Pro
Stretch runner cuts back, which may be a problem, but all the pace will flatter her style, which could lead to a strong late run at big odds; exotics appeal.


Race Summary
Pace makes the race and there's a ton of it here, so give the pick a look in all the slots, and especially to kick off the middle Pk4 as well, since a win would add value to the sequence right off the bat, and she's going to have a big chance will all the speed signed up.

Sheppard homebred was a decent 5th at the level last time, drew perfectly, and should be tracking wat could be a possible speed duel; look out.


#8 Slingin Sammy B
Versatile sort ran off on the lead last time and aired, and did well to draw outside the inside speed, but she could get in a tussle early; tread lightly.


#4 Dantastic
NJ-bred was in too tough in a state-bed stakes last time but the MSW win two-back was strong, and a repeat puts her in the mix here; very playable.


Race Summary
The price will be right on the 1, and the post and potential race flow may be too, so give her a look in all the slots, and especially the late Pk4 as well, as she could fall through the wagering cracks, which means a win would add some value to the sequence.

Caught a runaway winner last time out, and he'll try the dirt for the first time here for a barn that tends to do good work locally.


Race Summary
Hartford Thomas is worth a look at something like the 6/1 ML price, as his form has been heading in the right direction in recent starts, and he is fast enough to find a spot near the front from the fence.

Might get overlooked on the board despite a handful of pretty nice recent races, and he's tactical enough to find a good spot in the early going.

He really has never run a bad one, and he has a pretty reliable finishing kick and classes up nicely with this group.

Form hasn't quite been the same in the last 18 months or so, but he might find this group soft enough to wake him up a little bit.

Untilwemeetagain needs his very best stuff here, but the price is probably going to be fair with a couple of heavy hitters lined up in Shy Guy and Forevamo

Think last time out was the right time to try and get him when he was 15/1 with some bounce-back potential, as now he's going to be a much shorter price with far less upside.

I was born in Queens, New York but my father is Colombian, so I keep tabs on their domestic league since one of the passions I allow myself as far as rooting for teams is la Seleccion - Colombia's National Team. I cheer for the USMNT too, but we're only now starting to cultivate the type of players capable of competing on the global stage. Colombia's got a nice head start. Most of the top players that eventually get the call up end up in Europe after starting out in the country's domestic league, the Categoria Primera A. It was known as the Liga Aguila after a beer sponsor until last year and is now known as the Liga BetPlay Dimayor, which we appreciate for obvious reasons. Shout out to BetPlay.
As far as the free play is concerned, we'll look to go 13-1-1 on this current run by fading a team that would be in danger of relegation to the Primera B if not for an agreement that no team would be demoted this year due to COVID-19. Patriotas is awful. It sits at 19th out of 20 teams and has scored a league-low eight goals over 18 matches, winning just twice. Cucuta has as many points (14) but sits in last due to goal differential. Don't be surprised if that changes here since I think LaEquidad, which is tied for fifth in goals scored, handles business by multiple tallies at home.
La Equidad is sitting in eighth, tied with Once Caldas in points but ahead on goal differential. The top-eight in the Liga BetPlay advance to the knockout stage automatically while 9-20 go into a playoff group stage, so style points matter here as the regular season dwindles to its final two matches. Veterans Stalin Motta and Uruguay's Matias Mier lead this group, but young forward Pablo Sabbaq is dynamic and should make the difference here. Ride La Equidad on the three-way money line to defeat Patriotas on Tuesday afternoon.

SICULO - Was in a $10,000 Claiming race at Zia Park last race out. That clash had a class rating of 80 and he is moving down in this race. A certain serious competitor. The improved speed figs over the last 3 races is strong. Fincher drops him in this affair in great shape. When a horse drops at least five pounds (like this one is), you must take notice. It may not seem like much, but certainly could make the difference. PACIFIC OCEAN - Lambert drops him down to this class level. You don't need too much more data to think this horse should be one of the top contenders at this level. Juarez and Lambert perform well when they join forces. It's hard to beat a +78 ROI for a rider and trainer. YOU BUG ME - He must like the track here. He just won over the track after shipping in. Have to make this colt a serious competitor; he comes off a solid contest on October 12th.

LOTTA GUSTO - Had a tough stretch drive on September 2nd and followed it up with another one. Probably won't see him doing it in today's event. ETERNAL KINGDOM - I find it hard to wager on any racer in a short distance race at 5/1 when he hasn't shown any positive results in sprints in the last 60 days. The speed rating last out doesn't fit very well in this event when I look at the class rating of today's race. Mark this horse as a possibly overvalued contestant. DRIFTERS CHOICE - Usually I need a sprinter to have some recent success in short distance contests in order to back him. Doesn't look inspiring to me after the lack of any sort of closing ability on October 12th.

The last play on my cut list for Tuesday is with the Ohio Bobcats minus the points versus the Akron Zips. Ohio (0-1) were upset last Wednesday at Central Michigan by a 30-27 score where they were a 2.5-point favorite. Head coach Frank Solich’s Bobcats are typically resilient after setbacks as they have covered the point spread in 4 of their last 5 games after a loss on the road. Ohio has also covered the point spread in 20 of their last 32 games after a loss by 7 points or less to a conference opponent. Akron (0-1) were blown out by a 58-13 score last week at home to Western Michigan in what was not an encouraging sign for second-year head coach Tom Arth’s team after going 0-12 last season. The Zips have failed to cover the point spread in 21 of their last 27 games after a loss by at least 20 points. The set-up: Both teams enter off losses. The most important thing to remember when betting on teams when a season starts, is not to overreact. Both teams struggled defensively, but Akron's offense was downright terrible in its 58-13 setback to WMU.
The picks: Ohio lost 30-27 to Central Michigan. The Bobcats defense was shaky, but the offense was great, led by Kurtis Rourke with 231 passing yards and two touchdowns. Note as well that Ohio has scored over 40 points in each of the last two victories it's enjoyed in this series. Consider the Bobcats on Tuesday night.

Last time these teams met in Buffalo the game totaled 93 points and the weather is expected to be ideal in upstate NY this evening. I'm upset I missed a better number on Miami, but I still really like the RedHawks as a double-digit road dog against Buffalo. I just feel like this Miami team is a bit disrespected. They were the MAC Champs last year, but not the clear-cut favorite to repeated, despite bringing a bunch of guys back.
I think it creates a rare time where you see a defending champ with something to prove instead of walking around and everyone telling them they are the best. I expect a pissed off Miami team when they take the field against Buffalo, the team everyone is picking to beat them in the East.
One of the reasons the line here is this high, is the fact that Miami will likely be without starting quarterback Brett Gabbert. I don't know that there's a drop-off from Gabbert and backup A.J. Mayer. In relief of Gabbert he went 16 of 24 for 212 yards and 3 scores. Mayer showed a ton of poise in a back and forth game. I really think he could be the difference maker in this one.
Buffalo is a good team and it wouldn't surprise me to see them win this game, I just don't know if they are as good as people think. No question there's talent on this Bulls roster, but they are missing their stud DE Taylor Riggins. They also will be down starting corner Aapri Washington and the other corner, Ali Abbas is questionable.
The Bulls pulled away in their opener and wound up beating Northern Illinois 49-30. The big thing to note is they won the game by 19 with 3 non-offensive touchdowns. It went from Buffalo leading 21-16 at the half to 49-16 early in the 4th and the offense was responsible for just 7 of those points.
They put up great offensive numbers with 7.0 yards/play, but let's not forget that was a Northern Illinois defense that only returned 4 starters from a unit that gave up 6.1 ypp last year. Give me the RedHawks +10!

Both these teams took care of business against inferior opponents in Week 1. Both step up in class here, as this is an important game for positioning in the MAC. I expect points to be harder to come by. While they gave up 31 on the road in their opener, the Bulls were excellent on defense last season and they brought back a lot of players on that side of the ball. Really, their defense was actually pretty good against the Huskies, the problem was that they had to defend some short fields, due to turnovers. Both teams are going to be running the ball. A lot. Look for that to keep the clock moving and the final combined score below the relatively generous number. Consider the Under.

Defending MAC champion Miami (Ohio) opened the league's abbreviated six-game, conference only 2020 season at home against Ball State last Wednesday, coming away with 38-31 win. Miami QB Brett Gabbert was expected to build off a 'rookie season' in which he passed for 2,411 yards with 11 TDs and eight INTs (he was named MAC freshman-of-the-year). However, he suffered an injury early in the second quarter (was 5 of 8 for 76 yards) against Ball St and was replaced by third-year sophomore quarterback A.J. Mayer. All Mayer did was complete 16 of 24 for 212 yards with three TDs and no INTs. Mayer hadn’t thrown a pass in a game before Wednesday but was named MAC East Division Co-Player of the Week on Monday. There is still a chance that Gabbert has recovered enough from the injury in time to start this Wednesday. If not, Mayer will get the call.
Either way, Miami's QB will face a Buffalo defense that just forced FIVE turnovers and returned THREE for touchdowns in last Wednesday's 49-30 win at Northern Illinois. The Bulls needed those defensive "big plays" as Buffalo's offense had a modest 14 FDs in gaining 357 yards. QB Vantrease was 11 of 17 for 175 yards with one TD and one INT with his main target being WR Nunn, who had six catches and one TD (17.0 YPC). RB Patterson ran for 137 yards on 6.8 YPC with two TDs, coming off a season in which he ran for 1,799 and 19 TDs.
Buffalo's been picked by many to win the MAC East this season and while the home team has won THREE straight in this series, I'm taking the big points with Miami-O, whether it's Gabbert or Mayer,

Both of these teams saw 'over' results in their season-openers last week but I look for a different story to unfold as they meet in Buffalo on Tuesday night. Miami-Ohio is an injury-plagued squad already, with QB Brett Gabbert among those that went down in last week's thrilling come-from-behind win over Ball State. It remains to be seen whether Gabbert is able to return on Tuesday, but regardless who is under center they will face a tough challenge against a talented and experienced Bulls defense that allowed 397 total yards and 5-of-14 third down conversions while recording three sacks in last week's win over Northern Illinois. While Buffalo did put up a whopping 49 points in last week's victory it's worth noting that three of its touchdowns came by way of fumble and interceptions returns. I'm confident the Redhawks will do a better job of taking care of the football here. Miami knows that it will need to pick up the slack defensively with a number of key cogs missing on offense. We're talking about a capable Redhawks defense that came up with a number of big plays when they needed it last week against Ball State, ultimately recording five sacks in the victory. In this early season matchup between two of the MAC's best teams, I'm not expecting a shootout. Take the under (8*).
