My “Cutting Room Floor” plays are the situations I considered the closest to being worthy of investment but did not make the “final cut” for my official plays today for subscribers. One of the last plays on my cut list for the Friday afternoon card is with Over the Total in the game between the Wisconsin Badgers and the Michigan State Spartans. Wisconsin (7-1) has won four straight games after their 67-53 win against Nebraska on Tuesday. While that game finished below the 139.5 point total, the Badgers have then played 11 of their last 15 games Over the Total when favored. The Over is also 5-2-1 in Wisconsin’s last 8 games against teams with a winning percentage over 60%. Michigan State (6-1) comes off their first loss of the season at Northwestern on Sunday in a 79-65 loss at Northwestern. The Spartans have then played 11 of their last 16 games Over the Total after a straight-up loss. Michigan State has also played 5 of their last 6 games Over the Total at home. Take the Over. My math model favors Buffalo by fewer than three points in this game and the Bulls are a money-burning 1-7 ATS in their last eight neutral site games. Motivation will be an issue for Buffalo, who suffered a stunning 38-28 upset loss to Ball State in the MAC championship game as a double-digit favorite. That loss ruined Buffalo's perfect season (5-1) and it's hard to imagine the players being excited to play in the Camellia Bowl on Christmas Eve. The matchup favors the Thundering Herd, who own the nation's second-best rushing defense (88.9 ypg allowed) and have the front seven to limit Buffalo running back Jaret Patterson. Patterson rushed for 1,072 yards and 19 touchdowns in just six games this season. Marshall head coach Doc Holliday will likely copy the defensive gameplan utilized by Ball State in the MAC title game in which Patterson was held to just 47 yards on 18 carries. From a technical standpoint, college bowl underdogs entering off an upset loss (Marshall) are a profitable 85-54-2 ATS, including 22-5 ATS if they allow fewer than 17 points per game. MAC bowl teams with a win percentage of .833 or greater are 1-8 SU and 0-7-2 ATS, while teams hailing from the same conference are a woeful 19-50 SU and 24-42-3 ATS in bowl clashes since 2008. Finally, Marshall is 12-2 SU and ATS in its previous fourteen bowl appearances so grab the inflated number with the Thundering Herd as Oskeim Sports' Free Camellia Bowl Winner!

Friday NBA Free play. My selection is on Denver plus the points over Los Angeles at 10:35 pm et on Friday. We won with the Clippers in their season-opener against the rival Lakers on Tuesday night but I won't hesitate to go the other way and fade them as they head to Denver on Friday night. The Clips got off to a tremendous start against the Lakers, outscoring them by 20 points in the first quarter but needed to hold on for a relatively close seven-point victory. The big difference in that game was Los Angeles' ability to score down low, outscoring the Lakers 50-38 in the paint and 15-9 in terms of second chance points. I expect it to have a tougher time in both departments against the Nuggets, who will certainly be highly-motivated off a season-opening 124-122 overtime home loss against the Kings. The Nuggets were in that game despite shooting a miserable 8-of-29 from beyond the arc and getting outrebounded by a 54-46 margin. Look for Denver to play with a lot more energy in this one and ultimately secure the victory. Take Denver (8*).

Take #287 WKU Hilltops over Georgia State Panthers (3:30p.m., Saturday, December 26 ESPN) LendingTree Bowl The Hilltoppers were one of the most disappointing teams in the country early in the season. They brought back talent and experience but were not competitive early, losing 6 of their first 8 games. They won three straight games to close out the regular season and I believe they are the better team in this matchup. Georgia State finished strong as well, but I just do not believe that they have the same talent as does WKU. The Hilltoppers are 5-1 ATS (1 push) in their last 7 games played during the month of December. The Panthers are 3-8 ATS (1 push) in their last 11 games against teams with a losing record.

This is a free play (1*) on WESTERN KENTUCKY Kudos to WKU for even making it to a bowl. Certainly, postseason prospects did not appear strong when the Hilltoppers were 2-6. They also opened 0-7 ATS! But they closed the regular season with three straight victories and he we are. We like them plus the points vs. Georgia State in the LendingTree Bowl as WKU brings in one of the nation's best pass defenses at only 170 yards/game allowed. As an underdog of 3.5 to 10 points, the Hilltoppers are 5-1 ATS L6. When this game kicks off, it will have been almost a full month since Georgia State played a game. WKU is 4-2 in bowls including a win last year. Play on WESTERN KENTUCKY

Aaron Rodgers aims to keep the Packers in the NFC's No. 1 playoff slot in a Week 16 Sunday night showdown against the Titans. The SuperBook at Westgate opened Green Bay a 4-point home favorite.

NFL Week 15 has one more game left, but NFL Week 16 odds can't be stopped nor contained, with several games already seeing action. Among the top matchups, the Tennessee Titans visit the Green Bay Packers, and the Seattle Seahawks host the Los Angeles Rams.

The SuperBook's John Murray provided insights on NFL Week 16 opening lines and early line movement, sharp money and public betting.

Minnesota needs a win even worse after falling 33-27 at home to Chicago on Sunday, leaving the Vikes at 6-8 SU and clinging to playoff hopes.

"We opened Saints -7 and haven’t moved it," Murray said Sunday night. "There will be a lot of teaser and moneyline parlays this weekend starting with the Saints on Christmas Day. This could potentially be a big windfall for the books if the Vikings can go in there and get a win, the way they did in the wild-card round back in January. I won’t hold my breath. It seems like the Vikings have run out of steam."

Miami Dolphins (-2.5) at Las Vegas Raiders: Bet Now

Some of us are giving the Santa treatment to the Miami Dolphins, struggling to believe that this team is for real. After winning eight of their last 10 games, it may be time to tag the Fins as fact and not fiction.

Miami is a 2.5-point road favorite in Las Vegas in Week 16 and with over 80 percent of the early tickets on the visitor, this spread will likely land on a field goal sooner than later. And why not? The Raiders’ postseason hopes are pretty much dead in the water after going bust against the L.A. Chargers at home last Thursday and QB Derek Carr is out with a groin injury, leaving Marcus Mariota under center.

Vegas has dropped two in a row inside Allegiant Stadium and is 2-5 SU and 3-4 ATS inside its shiny new home, while Miami is a moneymaker away from South Beach with a 4-2 ATS mark as a visitor. If you’re down with the Dolphins, bet them now at -2.5.

San Francisco 49ers (+4) at Arizona Cardinals: Bet Later

A weird game deserves a weird line. In the battle for State Farm Stadium, the Niners are the visitor in their makeshift home facing their roommates, the division-rival Cardinals. Arizona opened as low as -3.5 and the line jumped to -4 with San Francisco losing at Dallas and the Cardinals pushing past Philadelphia in Week 15.

The 49ers were very much playing their fifth straight road game in that defeat to the Cowboys but now should feel a little more settled into their surrogate venue come Week 16. Turnover troubles have plagued San Francisco the past two games, which has overshadowed solid efforts from the defense. The Niners have actually out-yarded their last two foes by a total of 802 yards to 484 yards. Wowzas.

As mentioned, this line is climbing from -3.5 to the dead number of -4. If money keeps coming on the Cardinals, bookies will move quickly through those dead digits and this could be at -5 or even -5.5. San Fran quarterback Nick Mullens could be replaced by C.J. Beathard, which does nothing in terms of value to the spread but feels like a welcome swap. If you’re not counting out the Niners, hold on for all the points you can get.

Denver Broncos at Los Angeles Chargers (Under 50): Bet Now

I don’t understand why this total is at 50 points to begin with. Denver’s offense has failed to score more than 20 points in four of its last five outings and while the Broncos defense isn’t doing much either, it is facing a Chargers attack that scuffed its feet over the past month.

Outside of needing overtime to break the 30-point plateau against the Raiders last Thursday, the Bolts have been bums with the football. Los Angeles boasted scores of 17, zero, and 20 points in the three games prior to Week 15.

These AFC West rivals did go Over the 44.5-point number with a 31-30 Broncos win back on December 1, but this is the tallest total these teams have faced for one of their matchups in the past 11 meetings. With neither team playing for the postseason, motivation could be missing in Week 16. If you’re not buying a 50-point total either, take the Under now.

Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys (Under 49.5): Bet Later

This Week 16 showdown holds weight in the NFC East booby prize with the Cowboys climbing back into the playoff race with a win over San Francisco this past Sunday. Dallas dropped 41 points on the 49ers and has scored a total of 71 points the past two games.

The Eagles have received an offensive jumpstart from rookie QB Jalen Hurts, who has helped the Philadelphia scoring attack notch 26 and 24 points in his first two starts, after Philly floundered for sub-20 point totals in the four games previous to Hurts getting the nod.

That sudden uptick in production has the Over 49.5 juiced heavy at -115 at some sportsbooks, indicating a possible move to a 50-point total. If you like the Under in this Week 16 rivalry, bide your time. The Cowboys’ recent offensive output has more to do with terrible turnovers from their opponents and the Eagles average just over 20 points per game as a visitor.

These NFC East foes have played Under in three straight meetings and are 2-6 Over/Under in their last eight head-to-head games going back to 2017.

My first look on NBA Christmas Day games is to the Under. Concentration can be called into question on this day because players probably were with their families celebrating the holidays. This matchup fits other handicapping elements to the Under in addition to having an early start time. The Bucks had the best defensive rating in the NBA last season, holding foes to 102.5 points per 100 possessions. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton are excellent defensive players in addition to being high scorers. Antetokounmpo was the Defensive Player of the Year last season. Now the Bucks added another upper tier defender, point guard Jrue Holiday. So it wouldn't shock if the Bucks' defense was even better this season. Golden State was 28th in scoring last season, averaging 106.3 points a game. The Warriors were held to 99 points in a 26-point loss to the Nets in their opening game this past Tuesday. A key takeaway from that game was the Warriors' lack of good ball movement. Not only are they without Klay Thompson, but Draymond Green is out, too. Stephen Curry just doesn't have enough offensive help to make the Warriors a high-scoring team.

The Brooklyn Nets are a scary team now that both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant are healthy to start the season. The Nets rolled to a 125-99 win over the Warriors on Tuesday behind 26 from Irving and 22 from Durant in a game that they led by as many as 38 points. Both players got to sit out the 4th quarter. Brooklyn also has some tremendous role players back from last year in LeVert, Harris, Jordan, Dinwiddie and Allen. This is one of the deepest teams in the NBA. It's a bit of a letdown spot for the Celtics after Jayson Taytum banked in a 3-pointer in the closing seconds to knock off the Bucks on Tuesday. The Celtics are still without Kemba Walker and lost Gordon Hayward in free agency. I don't think they have what it takes to hang with the Brooklyn here. Give me the Nets.

It looks like it's going to be another poor year in Lincoln for head coach Fred Hoiberg and the Huskers. They just don't have much talent or chemistry, and that has shown in their 4-4 start this season that has included a 1-5 ATS record in lined games. They lost by double-digits to Georgia Tech (64-75), Creighton (74-98) and Wisconsin (53-67) in their last three games outside of Doane.
Michigan is 12-1 SU & 9-4 ATS in its last 13 meetings with Nebraska as Big Ten opponents. Amazingly, 10 of those 12 wins have come by double-digits, including each of the last four. Michigan won 82-58 and 79-68 in their two meetings last year. It should be more of the same in their first matchup of 2020-21.
Nebraska is 1-10 ATS in its last 11 games after scoring 60 points or less in its previous game. The Huskers are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games overall. Nebraska is 2-10 ATS in its last 12 home games, including 0-7 ATS in its last seven games as a home underdog. Bet Michigan Friday.

Minnesota has had more time to get ready for this game having last played on December 20th, while Iowa last played on December 22nd in a home win over Purdue. I get this is not the most ideal spot for the Hawkeyes, playing their first true road game of the season on Christmas Day against a pretty big rival in Minnesota. With that said, I just don't feel that the books are giving this Iowa team the respect they deserve. It's been that way all season. The only game the Hawks haven't covered is against Gonzaga and they played about as poorly as they could play and still hung around with an exceptional Bulldogs team.
I know Minnesota is coming off a 90-82 upset win at home over St. Louis as a 2-point dog, but I see a Gophers team that has allowed 80 or more points in 3 of their last 4 games facing one of the most efficient offensive teams in the country in Iowa. The Hawkeyes did not play anywhere close to their best in their last game against Purdue and still won by 15. I know it was on the road, but the Gophers only Big Ten game was a 27-point loss at Illinois. I would be a lot more scared of backing Iowa in this spot if it was going to be a sold out Williams Arena but that's not the case. Bet the Hawkeyes -6.5!
