It's a little pricey but the data indicates Montreal rates being big chalk here and I'm okay laying the price with the Canadiens.

The Yellow Jackets cooled off the previously "on-fire" Seminoles on Saturday in Atlanta, 76-65 to improve to 8-5 now on the season and if they can come up big today in the Commonwealth, Josh Pastner's team may indeed be on to something.

As for the Cardinals, Louisville lost to the previously ice-cold Clemson Tigers, 54-50 over the weekend as Chris Mack's team is now 10-5 for the year, but come into this home day game with their wagon's circled - losers of 3 of their last 4 both straight up and against the spread!

The Lakers just played a Saturday Under in their meeting at Boston and have held Under the total in each of their last 3 games and in 5 of their last 6 overall.

For the season Los Angeles is 15-6 Under the total.

Atlanta comes into this game also trending Low, as the Hawks held Under the total their last time out against Washington and have gone 14-5 Under the total for the year.

I recommend you stick with this hot mare. SPEAK LIGHTLY - This jockey/trainer duo has been producing a very favorable ROI, right at +28. This filly is in top condition right now. Finished third last race out and comes back rapidly.

LADY LAURA - Last ran on December 16th at Mahoning Valley Race Cour, finishing third. Unlikely to get better off of that performance in today's event. Hard to bet this one after not being on the lead at 1 mile and now being spotted in a race of 6 furlongs. This entrant ran a most unsatisfactory speed rating last time around the track. She shouldn't run much better and will probably suffer defeat in today's race running that number. DREAM FEVER - Didn't finish in the money on November 30th at Mahoning Valley Race Cour. Followed it up with another less than stellar try. This mare hasn't had any in the money results in sprint races in the last couple of months. Run-of-the-mill speed figure last time out at Mahoning Valley Race Cour at 6 furlongs. Don't believe this vulnerable equine will improve too much today.

LA LENA - Jock hops back on board after getting to know the horse by riding last time around the track. That's always a green light. This jock/trainer duo has been producing a very favorable ROI, right at +104. Taking a big drop in Equibase class figure points from her December 23rd race at Parx Racing. Based on that knowledge, I will give this horse the edge. Nunn is giving this one Lasix for the first time. A solid move, in my opinion.

Vulnerable Contenders: #4 STONEHARBOR BLONDE (ML=2/1), #7 CLOUT CHASER (ML=5/1), #1 CHEN'S CLEANSHADOW (ML=6/1),

STONEHARBOR BLONDE - Disappointing speed figure in the last race at Penn National at 6 furlongs. Don't feel this pony will improve too much in today's race. CLOUT CHASER - In any race of 5 1/2 furlongs, I like to support a contender that has been on the board in short distance contests lately. Mediocre speed figure last time around the track at Parx Racing at 6 furlongs. Don't think this runner will improve too much in today's race. CHEN'S CLEANSHADOW - Difficult to back any pony in a sprint event if she hasn't finished in the money in a sprint in the last couple of months. Never really did much at all last time around the track on January 25th. Hard to bet on in today's event. Garnered a run-of-the-mill fig last time around the track in a $25,000 Maiden Claiming race on January 25th. Unlikely to see an improved performance off of that number.

Al Cimaglia: Pompano Park Early Pick 4 Analysis

Pompano Park has a big 13 race card scheduled for tonight and my focus will be on the 0.50 Early Pick 4. That sequence starts in Race 6, it has a $30,000 guaranteed pool with a low 12% takeout.

The drivers with the hottest hands on Sunday were Wally Hennessey and Dave Ingraham with two winners each. All nine races were won by different trainers.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 6

2-Feelin Lika Winner (6-1)-This veteran was Miller's choice over #5 and has taken 9 pictures in 43 starts here. Uppal trainee gets some needed class relief and may have met a beatable field.
7-Caviart Reagan (9/5)-Steps up after taking a picture after getting bet down to 0.10 on a $1. This is a better group, but Hennessey returns, and he will look to get the top and not look back. Will be tough if finds a soft quarter but doesn't offer any value and this is probably not a layup.

Race 7

5-Make A Statement A (2/1)-This looks like a 2-horse race but not sure if this 9-year-old can get top honors if not leading at the top of the lane. Deserves respect and the Beckwith barn has won at a 28% clip over the last 30 days. Did miss a start but the rest may have been needed.
6-Unlikeanyother (9/5)-Winner of 4 straight is versatile and could win on the engine or coming off cover. Miller has choices and winner of 4 of 7 in south Florida could be a smooth trip away from its 5th consecutive picture.

Race 8

1-Windemere Ryan (7/2)-Was driven aggessively in last and just missed. Miller is back between the pipes and he could work a cozy trip here. Does step up but fits with this crew.
3-Hysteria (4-1)-This 5-year-old has raced only 5 times since 6-22-20 and this will be the 5th start since 1-4. Seems to be rounding into form and went the 2nd half in .54 last week. Makes 4th try on Lasix, gets a positive driver change and could be sitting on a big try.
5-Captain Velocity (5/2)-Blasted out with a 26.1 opening quarter and did fade down the lane. Gets some post relief and could get the top without using as much gas.

Race 9

5-Poof Daddy (9-1)-Drops again after being used hard early and the trip took its toll. Might be able to get the pocket behind the program chalk and trip out for a picture at a big price.
6-Sand Sniper (5-1)-Miller's choice as he sticks with the Uppal barn again and they are overdue to post some wins. 5-year-old has speed and put in a flat line in last. That start was with Miller and he could be more aggressive tonight.
8-Well Done Son (1/1)-Did win 2 straight with the addition of Lasix before stepping up and fits well with this crew. But has missed 2 weeks and starts outside so will look to others as well.

#8 Racelynn She gave away some ground late in the two-turn debut last out, but that came for twice this price, and she may stay better with this softer group.
#1 Chicken or the Egg She'll need to work out a trip from the fence, but her local form at this level makes her the one to beat from close range.
#10 Tribute Galaxy She was a decent second at this level a couple starts back, and her latest can be forgiven when facing better at Fair Grounds.
Race Summary Racelynn has some tactical pace, and though she was flat late when trying this trip last time out, she will meet an easier group this time around can be tough at a square price.

Picks Notes
#1/1A Richard Entry Neither of these fillies has shown anything in their combined three starts, but Maiden Rock loses the blinkers while Tweetie tries two turns. The price should be right to see if one of them can jump up and improve here.

The Habs hadn't lost in regulation until they ran into a hot goalie in a 2-0 loss to Calgary on Saturday. They host the Vancouver Canucks tonight, and Vancouver comes in as winners of four straight. History suggests that the Canucks might be in tough here in Montreal. They are 5-17 in the last 22 head to head meetings, and they have lost six of seven in Montreal. Braden Holtby has faced the Habs twice already this season, giving up nine goals on 68 shots. Thatcher Demko was also lit up in a 7-3 home loss to Montreal.

It's a great time to 'buy low' on the Chicago Bulls off three straight losses and non-covers against the Lakers, Celtics and Blazers. They had gone 11-2 ATS in their previous 13 games prior to this run and remain one of the most undervalued teams in the NBA.
Now the Bulls come in motivated to end this three-game skid. They had won three straight over Dallas, Houston and Charlotte prior to this tough stretch of games. And now they are rested and ready to go as they will be playing just their 2nd game in 7 days.
Conversely, the New York Knicks will be a tired team as they will be playing the 2nd of a back-to-back and their 3rd game in 4 days after losing 115-129 at home to the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday. I don't expect the Knicks to have enough left in the tank to compete with this hungry Bulls team tonight.

This Mavs teams has cost me some profits here of late, but I'm not about to pass up a play on Dallas at this price on Monday. I know it's been a struggle for the Mavs here of late, who come in having lost 5 straight and are just 2-8 in their last 10 overall, but I love this spot for Dallas quite a bit.
These two teams just played each other on Saturday. The Mavs went into the 4th quarter up 5, but ended up losing 105-111. One thing to note is that Dallas rested big man Kristaps Porzingis and his absence was greatly missed. He will return to the court for this game and the Mavs are also expected to welcome back Maxi Kleber.
After playing so many games shorthanded, this is as healthy as Dallas has been all season and I believe it will be the turning point for this team. Regardless of the fact, the Mavs should be the much more motivated team and I believe that will be enough here for them to get the win. Give me Dallas -1.5!

Both schools stepped out of conference play on Saturday with Oklahoma knocking off 9th-ranked Alabama 66-61, while Texas Tech stunned LSU in Baton Rouge by scoring the last 12 points of the game in the last minute for a 76-71 victory. The 11-4 Sooners (6-3 Big 12) have now beaten three consecutive top-10 opponents and are just the third team since the AP poll began in 1948-49 with four regular-season victories over top-10 foes in the same calendar month (the last to do so was North Carolina State in 1974). The Sooners have won FIVE in a row and have covered six straight as they look to avenge a 69-67 loss at home to Texas Tech back on Dec. 22. Texas Tech's late-game rally against LSU was its sixth game in the last six weeks settled in the closing seconds or overtime. The 12-5 Red Raiders (4-4 Big 12) are 3-3 in those games.
Oklahoma's top scorer from last season is gone (forward Doolittle averaged 15.8 & 8.9). This season's team is led by guards Reaves (15.8-5.1-5.1), Harmon (13.1) and Williams (7.7) are joined by big men like the 6-9 Manek (11.0 & 4.0), the 6-10 Kuath (7.1 & 5.2) and the 6-7 Iwuako (6.6 7 4.2). Georgetown transfer McClung (17.5) leads Tech in scoring and is joined in the starting lineup by guards Edwards (9.9 & 5.0) and freshman Peavy (5.6 & 2.9). The 6-7 Santos-Silva (8.7 & 6.4) is Tech's tallest starter, although the 6-6 Shannon (13.6 & 5.5) who comes off the bench, and 6-6 starter McCullar (9.9 & 7.1) are bigger producers. The Red Raiders' calling card remains defense, allowing 62.2 PPG (21st) on 40.7% shooting.
As noted above, Tech has played many close games and playing with revenge (plus basically a 'TD' in points), I'm taking Oklahoma.

Denver is 5-5 SU at home this season with a +3PPG point differential. Detroit has a negative road differential of minus -8.8PPG so we just need them to play slightly better than ‘average’ to get a cover here. Plug your nose and bet Detroit!
