ANALYSIS: Look, I won't take any favorites at -300 or higher on the moneyline this season because that's almost cheating, but wouldn't you spend $290 to win $100 here against atrocious Ottawa? Winless on the road, nine straight losses and the past seven defeats by multiple goals. The only reason I'm not doing the Habs at -1.5 is that it sets up as a possible trap/letdown game in the end of a long homestand and in their fourth game in six nights. Ottawa may actually lose by only one goal for third time this season.

Iowa stopped a two-game losing streak with an 84-78 win over Michigan State Tuesday. They have not covered the spread in their last three games, which is a season-high. Prior to this tough 3-game stretch, the betting flows gravitated to Iowa, but now the market has discounted Iowa far too much and today’s game offers a terrific betting opportunity.

Ohio State has caught fire winning six of their last seven games and covered the spread in five of them. Ohio State has largely outperformed expectations and is playing at unsustainable levels. They now take to the road to play the best and most efficient offense in the nation that can overwhelm any opponent at any time.

Iowa ranks no 1 in the nation in ball handling sporting a 2.097 assist-to-turnover ratio and will be facing an Ohio State defense that has posted a below-average 1.135 opponent assist-to-turnover ratio that ranks 269th nationally. Iowa moves the ball well, especially in the half-court set, and will not be met with a pressing style of defense from Ohio State. When Iowa moves the ball on offense they become even better at finding the best possible shot in each possession. Iowa looks to get the ball to Garza, of course, but the entire team is focused on getting the shot closest to the rim. Ohio State ranks 201st in allowed dunks, layups, and tip-ins.

Betting on home favorites between 3.5 and 9.5 points in a matchup involving two teams that are outscoring their opponents by eight or more points-per-game, and with the home team coming off a game in which they scored 45 or more points has earned a 75-40 ATS record good for 65.5% winning bets in games played over the last five seasons.

Iowa is an outstanding 11-2 ATS in home games facing a team, like Ohio State, who is averaging at least 21 3-point shot attempts in games played over the last two seasons. They are also 12-2 ATS in games following two consecutive games having 14 or fewer turnovers in each game.

From the machine learning applications, we learn that Ohio State is 9-37-2 ATS 80.4% when they have allowed 81 to 87 points and 12-53-2 ATS 81.5% when allowing 81 or more points.

Spurs vs. Chelsea picks (Thursday, 3 p.m. ET)

Jose Mourinho will come up against his former club when Spurs hosts Chelsea for an intriguing Premier League clash on Thursday.

The Portuguese manager won three Premier League titles during two spells with Chelsea, but owner Roman Abramovich ultimately fired him on both occasions. The Russian billionaire has dropped the axe on 12 managers since buying the club in 2003, costing himself around $165 million in compensation packages.

He demands instant success from his coaches, and he is quick to cut ties when the team has a bad run of results. Frank Lampard was the latest manager to feel Abramovich's wrath as he was fired on Jan. 25. Chelsea was ninth in the standings with just one win in its previous five league matches.

Abramovich had seen enough, and he swiftly brought in former PSG boss Thomas Tuchel to replace Lampard. It will be fascinating to see how the German coach fares against an astute tactician like Mourinho in a big London derby.

Tottenham Missing Kane

Chelsea drew 0-0 with Wolves in Tuchel's first game in charge and then beat Burnley 2-0 over the weekend. The Blues enjoyed 72 percent of the possession time in that game and restricted Burnley to just one shot on goal in the entire match.

If lifted Chelsea up to seventh in the table, level in points with Spurs, which has lost two games in a row. Tottenham looked like a genuine title contender after beating Arsenal at the start of December, but it has won just two of its nine Premier League games since then.

Mourinho will be desperate to turn things around. However, he will be missing star striker Harry Kane, who damaged both ankles in a 3-1 loss to Liverpool last week. Kane was badly missed during a limp 1-0 defeat against Brighton on Sunday, as Spurs barely threatened the Seagulls' defense.

Gareth Bale came in to replace Kane, but he proved largely ineffective, and his loan spell from Real Madrid has been underwhelming. Son Heung-Min will be Spurs' main scoring threat, but he has now gone five games without a goal.

Mourinho Parks the Bus

The match finished 0-0 when these teams met earlier this season. It was a classic Mourinho performance by Spurs, as it stifled Chelsea throughout the game. Chelsea had 61 percent of the possession time in that game, and Tottenham only had five shots on goal and one on target, but the Blues could not break through due to Spurs' relentless discipline and organization.

We could be in for another tight, tense and drab encounter on Thursday. Mourinho will be determined not to lose, but he may lack the firepower to really push for victory, so it is easy to imagine him being content with another 0-0 draw. This is known as "parking the bus" in front of the goal, a strategy Mourinho has perfected over the years.

Chelsea's performances during the first two games of Tuchel's reign suggest it will seek to dominate possession in this match, but the club could find it difficult to breach Tottenham's solid defense. It therefore could be decided by a moment of magic from a Chelsea player, or a swift break from Spurs.

The Hawkeyes still sport the nation's No. 2 offense, and they aren't likely to miss as many free throws as they did versus Michigan State. ANALYSIS: I don't proclaim to be an expert on either Austin Peay -- although the best chant in all of college sports is "Let's Go Peay!" -- or Eastern Kentucky, but checking various models and betting trends on these Ohio Valley Conference schools, the spread is about 4-5 points too low. EKU is the second-best team in the conference behind Belmont and is 14-2 SU and 11-2-1 ATS. Austin Peay is solid 10-6 SU but 6-8 ATS. Eastern Kentucky already beat the Governors 80-75 a few weeks ago in Clarksville. Austin Peay is 1-6 ATS in its past seven as a road underdog.

Also remember that third-leading scorer De'Andre Hunter is out injured. Atlanta may struggle to reach 100 points against a Jazz team that ranks Top 5 in defensive efficiency. I highly doubt Utah scores the 125 points or so that would force this total Over as Atlanta is quite good defensively, too, and actually will improve in that regard with Young off the court (great player, terrible defender).
