Outright Winner
For the Outright market, you have to look at chalk in the WGC events. Since the beginning of 2016, there have been 18 WGC events and the longest winner was Kevin Kisner at 60-1. More telling though, is that 14 of the 18 winners have been at odds of 20-1 or less. So do not waste your time looking down the list too far this week, especially on an unknown course like Concession and generally the best players in the world are quicker at adapting to new tracks and there are no horses for courses guys in play this week.
Technically just outside that list at +2200 is Tyrell Hatton, although some books have him as low as +1800 so I’m counting him in that 20-1 or under range. But Hatton has been playing some great golf. Over the last 16 months, in 22 starts he has four wins including winning the Abu Dhabi Championship in January. Including those four wins, he finished in the Top-10 in 12 of those 22 events including finishing T6 in this event last year. Granted this event was played in Mexico but just proof this guy can play well and win in deep fields.
For a longshot leaderboard play this week, jump on Billy Horschel, the Florida Gator alum playing in his home state is +750 for a Top 10 or +1600 for a Top 5. I expect him to be a guy making some noise during the upcoming Florida swing.
For DFS players, Hatton is $9,600 on DraftKings or $11,000 on FanDuel and you can get Horschel for $7,000 on DraftKings or $7,900 on FanDuel. Both are worthy of a roster spot this week.

Leishman was a guy to fade after the restart last year. He missed five out of seven cuts including the first playoff event but was able to make it all the way to the Tour Championship thanks to a strong first half of the year performance including a win. He then went on to finish dead last at the BMW with a final score of +30 and finished 2nd to last at the Tour Championship.
He then missed the cut at the US Open and finished near the bottom of the CJ Cup and the Zozo Championship, two events without a cut. Then seemingly out of nowhere, he finished T13 at The Masters to propel him into 2021. In four events so far this calendar year he has three Top 25 finishes with his worst finish coming last week, but still solid at T32.
Looking at Matsuyama, he hasn’t been playing terribly by any means, he is just not playing anywhere near where he is being priced. He did miss the cut last week at The Genesis to snap a run of eight straight cuts made, but his finishes have not been that impressive. In 2021 so far he has made the cut in four of five events, but he only has one Top 25 finish and his next best was T41.
Matsuyama is known as an elite ball striker but a terrible putter. His ball striking was always good enough to carry him but that has fallen off so far this year as he ranks only 49th Off the Tee, 55th in Approach and 54thAround the Green. Then of course his putting is still awful, ranking 181st.
Yet Matsuyama is still being priced as a big favorite over Leishman at DraftKings and I just can’t see how that is justified. This is a great value number on current form of these two players, so grab Leishman at the big + number.

These teams played to a 3-3 draw last week which was remarkable considering how much Hoffenheim controlled that game. They put up 26 shots with 13 on goal compared to just 8 shots with 4 on goal for Molde. Hoffenheim also generated 4.67 xG, the highest of any team in the Europa League last week, nearly three goals more than Molde who did play well offensively, mustering up 1.76 xG. But the defense is why I'm fading them here.
That draw was a great result for Molde considering it was their first competitive game in two months which certainly showed defensively. Norway’s top league is in between their seasons as they don’t play during the coldest months of the year due to their northern location. I think they will once again struggle on the back end as they just don’t have their game speed right now. Meanwhile, Hoffenheim are coming in off another great performance over the weekend, crushing Werder Bremen 4-0 at home and while I don’t expect that score to repeat here, they should be able to cover this number with at least a two goal win at home.

Outside of the referee in Atalanta-Real Madrid neutering the home team in Bergamo with a ridiculous red card that put them on the defensive for basically the entire match, La Liga has had a dreadful run in the Champions League Round of 16. What does that mean for this Europa League match between Real Sociedad and Man U.? For starters, given that the three teams Sociedad has defeated this month, Cadiz, Getafe and Alaves – are 14th, 15th and 16th in the standings – it means that this trip into Old Trafford is going to be extremely challenging regardless of who Ole Gunnar Solskjaer throws out there. Juan Mata should get his first starting call since returning to the fold, Dan James has been strong of late and should be dynamic in connecting with whoever starts between Anthony Martial and Marcus Greenwood up front. Ride Manchester United on the 3-way money line to knock off Real Sociedad again for the sweep in this second leg after coasting 4-0 in the first leg.

STEVE'S BABE DOLL - Must be carefully examined based on the very strong speed figure put up in the last contest. Lately Juarez has been hot which may give the edge to this mare. Has to be given a shot versus this group of horses in this race displaying strong numbers recently and an average speed rating of 69 under similar conditions. SHACK PARTOUT - Earned a strong Equibase speed fig in the last race. Can run another good one in this race. PEPPER JACK - Looks very good against this group and ought to be one of the front-runners. EGG NOG - Trainer Dilodovico moves this animal down the class scale to face weaker company. Look for a solid effort given this drop. This entrant collects a lot of cash per start. I believe she will add to the lifetime total in today's race. I like the piece of information that this filly's last speed rating, 48, is tops in this bunch. USED TO BE FUN - I think that a sprinter coming off a layoff will usually run her best in the 3rd or 4th start back. After the race aboard this animal on February 7th, the jock is going to be in touch with the filly much better. Sub-par try last race out at Laurel was due to the off-going (she ran fourth). Have to do better today under better track conditions.

THUNDER THIGHS - In this situation, this racer's inability to close in the last affair is a cause for concern. APRILNESS - Didn't meet expectations as the public's choice twice. Earned a pedestrian speed figure last time out in a $16,000 Maiden Claiming race on Jan 24th. Not probable to see an improved performance off of that figure. COOKIES AND CREAM - I'd like to see more conducive recent efforts with M/L odds of 3/1. Generally I need a sprinter to have some recent success in short distance races in order to support her.

LET'S BE HONEST - When this jockey and conditioner team up you have to take a look. Arroyo and Navarro have been terrific together. I believe this equine isn't a natural sprinter. Routing is her best game and those last two sprints should have her set for a big run today. Looking over this filly's PPs I see that the last time she tried this trip she got a speed rating that would be good enough to win today's race. Ranked at the very top in earnings per start. Another sign that this equine is the class of the race. PAPA'S LITTLE GIRL - The ROI when Ortiz and Garoffalo partner up is outstanding. Have to give this mare a shot. Ran a strong race in the last race within the last thirty days. Took a big class drop last out, and I think she may have needed it. Garoffalo enters her at a similar level today. I'd expect an improved performance.

Vulnerable Contenders: #4 GRACE'S DRAMA (ML=7/2), #6 ETANA (ML=9/2), #2 DONT GET SMART (ML=6/1),

GRACE'S DRAMA - Mediocre speed figure last race out at Gulfstream Park at 1 mile. Don't think this questionable contender will improve too much today. DONT GET SMART - Should be difficult for this animal to beat this group off of that last speed rating. Doubtful to improve enough to run a figure anywhere near today's Equibase class figure, so put her on the questionable challengers list.

#7 Egg Nog Drops in class after a modest run last out, but she's right there with this softer group if she can get back to anything like her debut try.
#1A Aprilness Looks like the better half of the entry, and she draws well near the outside to flash some pace while getting down in class.
#9 Gypsy's Image She showed only the slightest bit of chasing pace in the debut before she backed up, but that was for more than twice this tag, and she may be able to share here at a square price on the board.
Race Summary Egg Nog has a right to be tough here if she can bounce back a bit from that last one. Her debut try would make her a handful with these, and the presence of the entry might leave her at a playable price.

Laurel Park - Race #7

#8 Hybrid Eclipse Aqueduct maiden win was a nice first start for the new barn, and she should be able to land a perfect pressing trip while stretching around two turns.
#5 Good Measure She handled a short field in the debut run, but she gets Lasix for this second start while moving around two turns, and she probably has enough upside to make her useful here at a price.
#2 Wonderwall She was a 10 length winner with similar a couple starts back in her only lifetime try with Lasix, and she faced better when last in that stakes try. The one to beat, but something feels dicey at an unappealing price.
Race Summary Hybrid Eclipse has never run a bad one on the dirt, and she made a nice first impression out of the Rice barn. She should trip out here.

#3 Shotski Think he has some room to move forward in this second start off the layoff, and he has a little bit of quality to him. If he can take a step in the right direction, he'd be appealing at a mid-range price.
#4 Dudley Square Tactical type cleared his latest condition at this local trip last out, and he has just enough speed to find another good spot with these. The one to beat.

Two of the nations best offensive teams in the country will square off tonight, as the No. 9 ranked Iowa Hawkeyes visit the No. 3 ranked Michigan Wolverines. I'm not interested in the spread in this one. My money is on the OVER 155.
Both of these teams rank in the Top 10 in the nation in offensive efficiency at KenPom. Iowa is No. 1 and Michigan is No. 6. The Hawkeyes come in averaging 86.4 ppg on 48% shooting from the field and 40.3% from deep. Michigan is scoring 79.2 ppg on 50.2% shooting from the field and 39% from deep.
Just so happens the Wolverines last game was against Ohio State, who is No. 3 in offensive efficiency. A lot of people thought that was going to be low scoring and the total for that game was just 144. The two combined for 179 points in Michigan's 92-87 win.
I think we are going to see a similar offensive outburst in this one. Just look at the two meetings last year, the two combined for 194 points in the game at Michigan (total of 144) and 173 at Iowa (total 147).
OVER is 7-3 in Michigan's last 10 games vs a team with ai inning record. It's also 17-8-1 in Iowa's last 26 as a road dog and 13-5 in their last 18 on the road vs a team that's won more than 60% of their home games. Give me the OVER 155!

It's almost March, and at this time of year we expect to see more emphasis on defense. Historically that has been the case when these two teams have faced each other late in the season. The last two meetings went over the total, but both of those games were played much earlier in the season. The previous four meeting were in February or March, and all four of those games went under. These teams are both playing great defense, each allowing roughly 65 points per game over their last five overall. Iowa has gone under in five straight overall, and the under is 6-2 in Michigan's last eight overall.

As long as Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin are playing, then these two teams will always be considered the most fiercist of rivals. These teams played here two nights ago and the Pens won 3-2 in OT. I'm expecting a more wide-open contest here though and I look for this total to eclipse the posted number sooner, rather than later. Pittsburgh has won three straight. The Pens average 3.00 GPG and they allow 3.24.

The Flames have the better numbers on the season, as when Ottawa has lost many times it has been in blowout fashion. But a closer look at the advanced stats of xG/60 we find these two teams being much closer than the line would suggest. That's especially true when we look at Power Play and Penalty Killing statistics. With Calgary being a sizable favorite in this one we get a nice payback with the host.

The Predators brought their 'A' game in Detroit on Tuesday, securing a 2-0 victory - their second win in a row. I certainly feel that a letdown could be in order for the Preds here and this quote speaks to that. "Everybody in the room felt good, felt confident after that huge win in Columbus, and I think it showed (Tuesday)," forward Eeli Tolvanen said. "All four lines were playing great, and we didn't give them much. Our offense was really good, our defense was good, and I think we played a really hard game." Meanwhile, this quote from Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin points to a sense of urgency they'll need to play with on Thursday. "We don't score enough, and we didn't make it hard enough on (Nashville goaltender Pekka Rinne)," Larkin said. "We had some good looks, but not many second or third opportunities." Despite a down cycle, the Wings have actually gone 4-3 against Nashville over the last three seasons. With this being their last game at home before heading out on the road for five straight, look for the Wings to play with a purpose on Thursday. We'll grab the extra goal as insurance. The Colorado Buffaloes have played their last four games on the road and will be very happy to be back home tonight. They still have a shot to win the Pac-12 and catch USC, but they must beat the Trojans tonight to stay alive. Look for them to be highly motivated for a win because of it.
The Buffaloes have had one of the biggest home/road splits in college basketball for years. That has been the case again this season as they are 8-1 at home this season and outscoring opponents by an average of 18.7 points per game. They are just 6-6 in true road games, but one of those road wins came at USC 72-62 in their first meeting this season.
USC comes in overvalued off its 72-58 win over Oregon in which the Trojans made 10-of-21 from 3-point range. They played that game without their best player in Evan Mobley (16.8 PPG, 8.7 RPG, 3.0 BPG) and were still able to win because they shot so well from deep. Oregon also had an off night offensively shooting just 40% for the game while making only five free throws.
Mobley is questionable to play tonight, and don't be surprised to see the Trojans sit him again as this will be their 4th game in 9 days. It will be just the 4th game in 12 days for the Buffaloes. Colorado owns USC in going 5-0 SU & 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings. The Buffaloes are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games as home favorites. Bet Colorado Thursday.

However all 4 of those games were vs Eastern Washington & Weber State (the top 2 teams in the conference) so while Idaho State is taking a big step up, Montana is stepping way down in competition. Idaho State has some solid defensive numbers in conference play but again we must consider the competition. They have not played a team ranked in the top half of the Big Sky in offensive efficiency this season. Montana ranks 4th in the conference in offensive efficiency, 2nd in 3-point % and they make 81% of their FT’s so this will be the best offense the Bengals have faced. The Grizzlies have won 19 straight in this series and the opening number in this one (Montana -3) is the lowest spread in this series for Montana number since the 2013/14 season. Northwestern opened the current season 6-1 and 3-0 in the Big Ten, after its Dec 26 win 71-70 over Ohio St. However, the Wildcats have 'imploded' since that time and enter this game at Minnesota on a 13-game losing streak (3-9-1 ATS). Minnesota has spent FIVE weeks in the top-25 this season but currently sits 13-10, including 6-10 in the Big Ten. The Gophers haven't been very 'golden' these days, having lost EIGHT of 11 after a lopsided 94-63 loss at home to Illinois on Saturday.
Northwestern has a decent roster, as SEVEN players have participated in all 20 games. A trio of guards in Audige (12.9), Kopp (11.7) and Buie (9.5 & 4.3 APG) plus a duo of 6-10 players, Nance (11.5 & 6.6) & Young (8.2 & 4.5) have led the way. Minnesota PG Carr (19.0-3.9-5.0) has led Minnesota all season but recently guard Gabe Kalscheur (9.2) is out three-to-four weeks with a broken finger and 7-0 center Liam Robbins (11.7 points and team-high 6.6 rebounds) is battling a foot injury. That said, Pitino still has 6-8 Western Michigan transfer Johnson (9.0 & 6.2) and 6-6 Utah transfer Gach (7.3 & 4.0) plus freshman Mashburn (7.1) to turn to.
EIGHT of Northwestern's 13 losses have come by double digits and Minnesota's at-large hopes are plummeting, a strong finish could (would?) get them into the Big Dance" on the strength of the Big Ten. Lay the points.
