In a preliminary bout on Saturday's UFC 262 event in a SOLD OUT stadium in Houston, Texas…Mike Grundy faces Lando Vannata…
When breaking this fight down, one thing is certain… Lando Vannata fights the exact someway every fight. Since entering the UFC Lando has a record of 3-4-2 with some VERY dicey wins over that span. Most recently Lando lost to journeyman fighter Bobby Green in a sweeping one-sided decision striking bout. His movement can be unorthodox but lackluster defense is completely his downfall. Vannata's claim to fame was a short notice fight against Tony Ferguson where he had some shining moments, …even though he was submitted in round 2. My biggest issue with his style is leaving hands down for most of the fight. It makes him a fan favorite for viewing purposes, but overall he hasn't shown much in his 5 year UFC career. Lando's very hitable with limited care of putting himself in danger giving rounds away as opponents push out volume and he seeks the flashy offense.
While Mike Grundy is coming off a decision loss to undefeated rising star Movsar Evloev, giving Grundy only his 2nd career MMA loss. Although he lost, impressively Grundy took Evloev down twice in round one keeping top control until the extremely high-level grappling of Evloev shined. On Saturday night Lando won't present that kind of resistance in takedown defense. In fact, his style of forwarding pressure and flashy kicks could present extra openings for Grundy to take him down. I see this fight very similar to Grundy's fight prior against Nad Narimani. Grundy was able to comfortably move around the cage pressing without worry of being taken down. That allowed Grundy to utilize his boxing yet keeping Nad off balance worrying about level changes. In that bout it was a 2nd round knockout win for Grundy.
At the current price, Grundy is a solid bet at even money. The wild offense of Lando is all he offers up as Grundy could seek top control working positioning all fight.

The Padres are still without top players in Fernando Tatis Jr., Will Myers, and Eric Hosmer. Chris Paddack is 1-3 with a 4.78 ERA this season and he has yet to pitch six innings in a game this season. Adam Wainwright is 2-3 with a 3.80 ERA but he has gone at least seven innings allowing two runs or less in three of his last four starts. The Cards are second in the league with 11 road wins this season and they shouldn’t walk that many batters with Wainwright starting. Take the value in the Cards.

He has honestly been one of the best pitcher’s for the Twins this season, but he is coming off an outing against the Tigers where he allowed five walks and only struck out one. ANALYSIS: With how this line looks for Game 1 and they way the public is betting, there is going to be a lot of value on the Capitals this series. Alex Ovechkin returned for the Caps in their last game of the season with no limitations, John Carlson is expected to play, and TJ Oshie has been practicing and could return tonight. The Bruins played well down the stretch but the Caps actually played better going 7-2-1 in their last 10 games. And for the Rask is a massive advantage crowd, Tuuka Rask is 4-11-7 with a 3.03 GAA in his career against the Caps. I just don’t see how you can’t take the value in the home, higher-seeded underdog here, and I have a feeling the value will be on this side all series.
