He'll try the turf for the first time today, but his form is heading in the right direction in recent starts, and he may get overlooked on the board. Underneath?

He owns a handful of running lines that would make him pretty tough here, but he's dropping off the bench while getting blinkers on. Not sure what to expect here, but it feels like he'll be an underlay either way.

He's bred to be able to handle this kind of turf trip, and he has only tried the lawn once in the past. He improved with the locals last out, and he's interesting if that form can transfer to the turf.

Last two speed figures (78, 72) were strong. Anything close to that right here in this race and this one could win easily. Russell and Cooney perform well when they combine forces. It's hard to beat a +167 return on investment for a rider and trainer. If this horse repeats any of his last 3 outings, he'll have a great shot to win in this race.

Note that the Canucks have posted a 12-3 o/u record after scoring one goal or less in their last game over the last two seaosns, with that situation producing an average total of 7.2 goals. Meanwhile, the 'over' has gone 14-3 with the Flames playing at home revenging a loss where their opponent scored four goals or more over the last three seasons. That situation has led to an average total of 7.8 goals. Vancouver checks in giving up 3.6 goals per game on the road this season while Calgary has quietly averaged 3.1 goals per game on home ice and should be confident after scoring six goals in Sunday's victory over Ottawa.
