Race Summary
Maid of Honor has a right to be a handful with this group, as she has some rating pace and has already run well a couple times at this level. My worry is that she hasn't shown much passing ability, and the rail runner might beat her to the front again.

He nearly scored in his only career turf sprint, and he's probably in the mix early off the layoff today. Tough to discount this high-powered barn, but I think he's overbet.
#5 Worththemoney
That synthetic debut was pretty disappointing, but maybe he'll be a bit better on the grass today. Second start off the bench might bring out something better for a sharp barn.

He gets Loveberry up, and I'm rarely mad about a new barn giving a horse a chance on the hike. His form has been reliable, and he's capable here if he can hold it for the new team.

I have to consider GREELEYS CHARM here. Has quite good Speed Figures and has to be considered for a wager in this race. Could best this group based on the speed fig - 98 - of his last race. Have to consider solely on class, with some of the best class figures of this group of animals. MOONOVERSEBA - Ought to compete admirably in the pace contest which bodes well with this group of animals. Is a solid contender - given the 78 speed figure from his most recent race. SIR SWAYSALOT - Will likely be one of the early speedsters of the group going into the halfway point of the outing.

While the two games at Boston were high-scoring, a change in venue should lead to a lower-scoring affair. With a total of five, there's always a good chance of a 'push.' That said, if this one doesn't land on five, I feel that it has a greater chance of finishing with four or fewer combined goals than it does of finishing with six or more. Throw in the fact that we're getting the 'under' at an "underdog price" and we're getting very fair value. Last night, I won with the 'under' in the Colorado game. (That total was 5.5 and it finished with five.) I mentioned how stingy those two teams were. These two are right there with them. In fact, those four (Colarado, Vegas, NYI, Boston) were the four stingiest teams, in terms of goals allowed per game, in the entire league. Unlike last night's two club, however, tonight's teams don't score as many goals. Colorado and Vegas ranked #1 and #4 respectively, in terms of goals scored per game. The Bruins and Islanders rank in the middle of the pack, offensively. The last six meetings have all been at Boston. The last time the teams met here? A 2-1 final, 1-1 after regulation. Consider the Under.

The Hurricanes probably deserved better than consecutive losses on home ice to open this series. They carried the play for much of Games 1 and 2 but now face the tall task of trying to win four of the next five games against the defending Stanley Cup champions. I do expect to see them put up a fight on Thursday as the scene shifts to Tampa for Game 4. Note that the Lightning are 0-4, outscored by a whopping 2.7 goals on average when coming off consecutive road wins this season. They're also just 21-23 when coming off a one-goal victory over the last two seasons, allowing 3.1 goals per game in that situation. Meanwhile, the Canes check in allowing just 1.8 goals per game when revenging a home loss this season, with that situation coming up 11 times. They also allow just 2.0 goals per game when coming off a home loss of any kind this season. The last time we saw Carolina travel to Tampa it earned a 1-1 split in a two-game set here in mid-April. The loss came by a single goal. Take Carolina +1.5 goals (8*).

The Minnesota Twins have been one of the biggest money burners in baseball this season. They are 22-33 (-20.9 units) on the season. They are coming off two straight losses to the lowly Baltimore Orioles, who had lost 14 straight games prior to those two wins.
The Kansas City Royals have been one of the more underrated teams in baseball and currently have a winning record 53 games into the season. I like what I've seen from starter Kris Bubic, who is 1-0 with a 1.59 ERA and 1.059 WHIP in three starts this season.
I'll gladly fade J.A. Happ, who is 3-2 with a 5.24 ERA in nine starts this season for the Twins. Happ has been at his worst on the road, going 1-1 with a 7.08 ERA and 1.525 WHIP in four starts away from home.
The Twins are 6-14 in their last 20 road games. Minnesota is 2-8 in its last 10 games as a road underdog. Kansas City is 4-0 in its last four home games. The Royals are 20-8 in their last 28 games as favorites. Kansas City is 5-2 in its last seven home meetings with Minnesota. Bet the Royals Thursday.

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach NBA Rotation #546 Thursday Free Pick UNDER the total in Portland Trail Blazers vs Denver Nuggets @ 8:05 ET - The Blazers wasted a great performance from Damon Lillard in Game 5 and they know it. They let the game slip away even though Lillard was absolutely phenomenal. That said, I look for a concerted effort from Portland tonight to play much better defensively as they look to stave off elimination. Of course this is part of the reason the Trail Blazers are a 5 point favorite tonight. I would not be surprised to see them win this game by a number very near to that margin. Where I feel we have the better value here is the total. I know these games between these teams have trended toward the over but this is an elimination game and an entirely different situation as a result. The last game here in Portland totaled 210 and I expect this one to fall in a range of 210 to 220 which means excellent line value here with this total in the 227.5 range. This is a free play on Denver.
This has been a close series, and Denver comes into Game 6 off a double overtime thriller. Damian Lillard did all he could scoring 55 points in Game 5, but he didn't get any help from his supporting cast, especially in overtime. The Nuggets are 11-5-1 ATS in their last 17 playoff games as an underdog, and the Blazers are 8-24-1 ATS in their last 33 playoff games as a favorite. It would be asking a lot to expect Portland to bounce back after a tough loss to force a Game 7, but it's asking even more to expect them to cover a five point spread.

Thursday's Free NBA Pick is on the Denver Nuggets as a 5-point road dog against the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 6 of their first round matchup. The Nuggets lead the series 3-2 after a thrilling 147-140 2OT win at home in Game 5. Not even 55-points from Damian Lillard was enough for the Blazers to get the win.
I know the series is shifting back to Portland with the Blazers needing to win to avoid elimination. I just think that's built into the number a little bit here, as I think this should be closer to 3. Denver won Game 3 in Portland and have taken 3 of the last 4 overall in the series. I wouldn't be shocked at all if they won this game. Bet the Nuggets +5!

The Red ended a six-postseason drought with a 31-29 record but were quickly dispatched in the wild card round by the Braves 2-0, as Cincy almost inconceivably went scoreless over 22 innings (lost 1-0 in 13 innings and 5-0 in nine innings). As for the Cardinals, they were kept off the field from July 30 through August 14 last season but the Cards somehow managed to earn a wild card spot with a 30-28 record. It was the team's SEVENTH postseason appearance over the previous 10 years (Cards lost 2-1 to the Padres in last year's wild card round). The two teams open a four-game series in St Louis on Thursday night with the Reds at 24-29 on the season (seven games back of the first-place Cubs) and the Cards at 31-25 (1 1/2-games back of the Cubs). The Reds got clobbered 17-3 at home on Tuesday by Philadelphia but probably caught a break when their game against the Phillies was rained out on Wednesday. The Cards know all about getting blown out, as they capped a 10-game road trip by getting pounded 14-3 in LA vs the Dodgers last night (StL finished the trip 5-5). Tonight's starters are Vladimir Gutierrez of Cincinnati (a 25-year-old rookie) and Adam Wainwright of St Louis (a 39-year-old vet). Wainwright began his career as a reliever but has had a memorable career as a starter with the Cards. From 2009-14 (missed the 2011 season with an injury) he finished in the top-three of Cy Young voting FOUR times, with two 19-win seasons and two 20-win seasons. The Cardinals have won four of six games from the Reds so far this season but will get their first look Gutierrez, who made his MLB debut May 28 in a 1-0 loss to the Cubs (5 IP / 2 hits / 1 ER). Gutierrez was 2-0 with a 2.65 ERA in three starts for Triple-A Louisville this season before his promotion. In contrast. Wainwright has made 30 career starts against the Reds, going 10-14 with a 5.45 ERA (team is 15-15). That's NOT a good history plus the Cards are just 4-6 in Wainwright's 10 starts here in 2021. However, look at Wainwright's home and away dichotomy. He owns a bloated 8.20 ERA in four road starts (opponents are batting .313 against hime0 but in his six starts at Busch Stadium, he owns a 2.41 ERA and a .196 BAA. That's SOME difference! The Padres were swept by the Cubs, and are heading home to the friendly confines of Petco Park. It is up to Yu Darvish to staunch the bleeding. Darvish is coming off his worst start of the year, allowing 4 runs in five innings and giving up an uncharacteristic 3 walks. For the season, he has been terrific; 5-1 with an era of 2.16.
Facing Darvish is Taijuan Walker. After missing a start with side tightness, he returned to pitch as well as he has all season. He has an era of 2.45 so far this year, and opposing batters have averaged sub.200 in his last 5 games.
The Mets’ bullpen has been strong over the last 8 games, with an era of 2.45. The Mets have been poor on the road this season. Their bats came to life in their last series against the Diamondbacks, but against Darvish and the strong Padres bullpen, they will not fare as well.
The Padres do many things well but with the exception of Tatis, raw power is not one of them. On that note, Tatis has missed a start and is listed as ‘day to day’.
The Wager: Two strong starters, two good bullpens, and the Mets’ ineptitude on the road make me believe this game will go Under.

Lost this prop play last game, but he went over in double overtime. If the game would have ended in regulation, the under would have hit for the 5th straight game in this series. As we've covered before, Portland is playing man to man defense and not doubling Jokic, so he has a great scoring matchup, and passing is not his number 1 priority. Without Murray, there is basically no pick and roll game so his passing opportunities are very limited there. Porter is more of a create his own shot player rather than a spot up shooter, as is Gordon. Jokic has had two games in this series with only 1 assist, two games with 5, and the double overtime game…we like this assist total to come in UNDER 6.5 assists.
