Jokisch takes on Cuevas and if you just look at the ERAs against you would think this will go way over. But the numbers are a bit misleading because early in the season Cuevas got blown up for 10 runs vs KT. Since then he had a start against them holding them to 1 run in 7. Jokisch has been great vs KT and has allowed only 5 runs his last three starts. 4.5 seems high my numbers have it at 4.1. Make a small play on the 1st 5 Under 4.5.

This is a case of the good pitcher vs good lineup, and bad pitcher vs bad lineup. Casey Kelly has been great and is onw of the best in Korea. He faces the "1 lineup in NC but they are no so great lately. Song Myun Gi is average, but he does have a decent k:BB ratio and LG with the second worst lineup in the league has not faced him yet. My numbers have this at 4.2 so make a small play on the 1st5 Under 4.5.

With an SP, bullpen and lineup advantage this is a 3% play on the money line. If Samsung has a better bullpen I would lay 1.5 but neither the bullpen nor lineup are that good and Samsung has not faced Kim yet so the first 5 might be tight. Take Samsung money line anything -170 or better.

This is abet that the 1st 5 innings end in a tie. Chunichi has Ohno on the mound who is one of the best in the league while Yokohama pitcher Kyoyama is not very good, he faces the worst lineup in baseball and has only allowed 2 or less runs his last three starts. This looks like a stuck in the mud game and at this price a 1% shot is worth it.

The Hokies failed to cover both games in which they were underdogs and also lost as favorites on four occasions. North Carolina returns its entire offensive line, as well as a Heisman Trophy favorite in QB Sam Howell. Without Clemson being on the schedule, this is the toughest game for the Tar Heels until they visit Notre Dame on Oct. 30 and NC State in the season finale. Take North Carolina and lay the points.

Giants starter Anthony DeSclafani is 0-3 with a 9.43 ERA in five starts against the Dodgers this year. I don't love LA starter David Price, but getting that loaded lineup at just -115 against anyone is a must-play. I expect this ML to jump in the morning.

Their pitcher Thursday, Chi Chi Gonzalez, is one of the NL's worst (probably why they lost 6-5), but Friday's starter Antonio Senzatela has always been better in Denver (3.89 ERA this year) and has a 2.93 ERA in five starts overall since coming off the injured list. Atlanta's Huascar Ynoa is a fine young pitcher, but this will be his first time at Coors Field. It's a totally different experience. I'm going to take the Rox +1.5 at home pretty much always when they are -120 or better.

In tonight's series opener, St. Louis starts veteran righty Adam Wainwright (13-7, 2.97 ERA) and Milwaukee sends out righty Freddy Peralta (9-3, 2.45 ERA). This line opened with the Brewers listed as a -163 home favorite and the Cardinals a + 153 road dog. Sharps aren't scared off by the chalk and have pounced on Milwaukee, steaming the Brewers up from -163 to -175. Favorites receiving 10-cents of steam or more are 349-221 (61.2%) this season. I was very close to making this an early 5 star in September. Arrieta (as well as the Padres) is not what they used to be in the previous seasons (or for SD, as they were earlier this year). Arrieta is 5-12 with a 7.13 ERA and a 1.78 WHIP, in his only start with SD he allowed 5 ER on 7 hits in just 3.1 IP, he is 3-7 @ night with a 8.80 ERA & a .333 opponent batting average. Even just in his L4 starts since the All-Star Break, Arrieta is an unbelievable 0-3 with a 11.15 ERA and…. A .479 OPPONENT BATTING AVERAGE. Urquidy, on the other hand, is 6-3 with a 3.38 ERA and a WHIP under 1.00. He is 2-0 in his last 3 starts, and even though he has been injured, this season Urquidy has been impressive @ night, going 4-0 in 8 starts with a 2.42 ERA and an opponent batting average of .174. The Padres haven’t faired well against top caliber RHP, and now with a struggling offense, things may get worse, they are 2-11 in the L13 games vs. a RHP w/ a WHIP under 1 when the line is > -115, and they are 1-4 in the FGS as a D vs. a RHP. The most remarkable thing is that the Padres have lost 10 STRAIGHT games as a dog vs. a RHP, and in those 10 games, SD only scored 4 or more runs 3 times (all 3 of those games were 4 runs) and they have only held opponents to less then 4 runs ONCE in those 10 games! While Houston is hot, especially in the opening game of a series, they know how to make a good first impression, going 12-2 in the L14 series openers on the road (including 9-2 in the L11 as a AF), and they are 21-7 as a F > -240 in the opener. The Astros are also 8-0 in Urquidy’s starts with a line between (-300) & (-105) and they are 6-2 vs. a SP w/ an ERA>6.00 when the line is < -110.
