For these odds I can not make this a paid play so here is a 4% client play for free. LG SP Lee Min Ho is one of the best young pitchers in Korea and he is ranked 24 out of 102. He is 3-0 with a 0.49 ERA vs Hanwha. LG also has the best bullpen in the league. Kim Min Woo struggles against LG and Hanwha is 3-7 vs LG. Just hope the LG bats wake up because this should be a low scoring affair.

Lee Min Ho is one of the best young home-grown pitchers in the KBO and has allowed 1 run in 3 starts vs Hanwha. LG is also one of the more flaccid hitting teams and Hanwha SP Kim Min Woo has handled them in the past. My numbers have the 1st 5 at 4.1 so 4.5 seems really high. Make a small 2% play on the Under 4.5.

This play is too good pass up but the odds are terrible so I have to make this a free play to play it. This is a free 4% client play with chalk. Jokisch is one of the best SPs in Korea and he faces the worst lineup and the worst bullpen in the league. I was tempted to lay 0.5 or 1.5 to get -120 and make it a paid play but Kiwoom does not hit well vs Im Gi Yeong and I think the score might be low. Kia's bullpen should be their undoing like it was on my 4% winner yesterday.

ANALYSIS: Had a 5-1 Thursday in MLB picks with a slight strategy change, and in that regard I should be taking Cubs runline here. Thing is, I can't do it. The Giants are playing their ideal starting lineup and while they are using a bullpen day, the first two guys planned have been lights out. I used to stay away from fading the Cubs when Kyle Hendricks was on the mound, but he has really fallen off of late overall and has an ERA of 5.56 at home and 5.08 during the day (used to be money in home day games). San Francisco is 35-15 in day games. The Giants were off Thursday or I'd worry about the early Pacific time start. Will Kris Bryant homer in his return to Wrigley?

The Twins struggle against lefties and they did were winning in Cleveland but they weren’t scoring much. The Royals have been much better on the road and should have taken 3 out of 4 from the Orioles had it not been for a historic meltdown. Take the value on the Royals.

Both of these non-conference opponents are coming off season opening wins. Kansas edged South Dakota 17-14, although they failed to cover as 11.5-point home favorites. Meanwhile, Coastal Carolina crushed Citadel 52-14, covering as 33.5-point home favorites. This matchup opened with Coastal listed as a 27-point home favorite. The public expects a blowout and is happily laying the points with Coastal at home. However, despite this lopsided support we've seen Coastal fall from -27 to -26.5. This signals some wiseguy action on Kansas getting big points. The Jayhawks have value as a contrarian play in a heavily bet primetime game and a buy-low unranked road dog against a ranked opponent. Over the past decade, unranked road dogs vs ranked opponents on Friday nights are 38-27 ATS (58.5%). We could also be looking at a lower-scoring game. This total opened at 53 and has fallen to 52.5 despite the public hammering the over. This signals sharp reverse line movement on the under. Correlative betting provides value to a big dog in a low total game.


9:30 p.m. ET: UTEP (2-0) at Boise State (0-1)

UTEP already has a pair of wins under their belt, beating New Mexico State 30-3 as 9.5-point road favorites and then taking down Bethune Cookman 38-28 last week, although they failed to cover as 20.5-point home favorites. Meanwhile, Boise State is looking to bounce back from a season opening loss to Central Florida 36-31, although they covered as 6.5-point road dogs. This line opened with Boise State listed as a big 27-point home favorite. The public is split down the middle and doesn't know whether to take the points or lay them. In a vacuum, a line shouldn't move at all if the tickets are even. But we've seen Boise Fall from -27 to -26. This indicates some sharp money grabbing undefeated UTEP plus the points (+ 27 to + 26). We've also seen some over money show up, forcing oddsmakers to adjust the total up from 55 to 56.5.

Presumably, CCU gets out to a huge lead and runs prevent defense all night. These teams combined for 61 in Lawrence a year ago. The Chants should score 36 minimum. Can KU hit 17? I think so.

First-year Kansas coach Lance Leipold anchored a fast turnaround at Buffalo and he faces a daunting task at Kansas. The zone-running scheme he directs should see a big improvement over Week 1. ANALYSIS: The odds are going to swing here late before the game starts, as the Tigers had to scratch scheduled starter Matthew Boyd due to an elbow injury. Replacement Tyler Anderson is a clear step down. Further, the Tigers were strong at home earlier in the year, but have now lost 10 of their last 13 home games. Meantime, the Rays are 43-26 on the road and had Thursday off to rest their deep pitching staff. Their one issue on offense is striking out and the Tigers are one of the lower-strikeout pitching staffs in baseball.

He's had a few rough spots, but since May 21, Houser is pitching to a 2.78 ERA while the Brewers have gone 11-2 in his starts. Indians' starter Eli Morgan has been much better of late, but he's clearly the inferior pitcher facing the superior offense here.

Orioles starter Chris Ellis has been pretty good, even threw well against the Jays on 8/30, but he's due regression. Plus, the Orioles bullpen is bad and the Blue Jays offense is hitting .301/.386/.601 as a team this month. I like a blowout.
