ANALYSIS: I'm going to bet this game now in case it rises to Wolverines -7. We don't want to overreact too much to Week 1, but Washington was completely inept offensively in a shocking home loss to FCS school Montana and apparently will not change QBs. The Huskies played without their top three receivers and from what I'm reading, it's more likely than not they miss this game, too. A fourth WR suffered a major injury early vs. Montana and is out. UW's best defender, Zion Tupuola-Fetui, remains out. Michigan did lose top wideout Ronnie Bell for the season in its Week 1 win over Western Michigan, but the Wolverines still should have enough at home to prevail here by at least a TD (expect a defensive battle). The Huskies are 1-8 ATS in their past nine as dogs.

ANALYSIS: This line has been all over the place already and I have to say that I'm surprised the Gamecocks are underdogs. East Carolina isn't too bad but didn't look great in a Week 1 loss at Appalachian State. USC trounced Eastern Illinois without three key players: QB Luke Doty, running back Kevin Harris and safety R.J. Roderick. All three are expected for this one. It's the first matchup between the two programs since 2016.

Wyoming is coming off an opening week match-up, in which they were a 19 point favorite vs. Montana St, and they barely squeaked out a W, putting up only 19 points themselves! They are 1-4 ATS in the L5 week 2 games and this may not be the best scenario to try and turn the tide. Northern Illinois is coming off the upset W vs. Georgia Tech last week and with the veteran transfer QB from Michigan State may be exactly what this team needs to keep its head on straight coming off a big upset W. As a 19 point underdog the transfer went down the field at the end of the game, when it mattered, and sealed the W on the final 38 yard drive. The Freshman RB, Waylee, was the offensive star and took some of the eyes off of the QB, putting up 144 yards and a TD was a nice addition to an 11-17 passing day for that QB.

This offense has also been revitalized with an uptempo approach, with 6 TD drives totaling at 2 minutes and 30 seconds or less! While Syracuse took one step in the right direction last week, this is still the first time in the L9 weeks that they are coming off a W, and I am weary to see if 6.4 yards/carry can continue to another opponent, seeing as the rush game has been a point of struggle in recent years.

Kirk Ferentz is a heck of a coach as he destroyed Indiana last week. Maybe the Hoosiers were overrated, but this team looked great. That game was at home and I do think they come back down to life against the Cyclones today. Iowa State has a veteran QB in Brock Purdy, can run the ball with Breece Hall, they have a great offensive line and talent to skill players who can catch the ball. This Iowa State Defense is stacked with talent and should get to the QB today going against this Iowa Offensive Line that is young. Vegas set a good line here and I do believe the public will jump on Iowa because of what they saw last week. Every game is different. The Cyclones hold a huge talent edge here. Take Iowa State.

ANALYSIS: Both of these teams had big offensive performances in their opener, but those performances came against bottom-rung FBS teams and not much different than facing FCS schools. Against stiffer competition, I expect these offenses to take steps back in this game. Tennessee cruised to a 38-6 win over Bowling Green in Week 1. The Vols stuck to running the ball with 64 carries for 331 yards in that game. Over the past 15 seasons, teams that won the last game while rushing the ball at least 60 times have produced Unders 59 percent of the time.

ANALYSIS: After looking like a team without an identity in 2020, Syracuse established an identity It can get behind in Week 1: pound the ball with the run over and over again. That will keep the ball away from a Rutgers team that is not as dynamic offensively as its Week 1 performance suggests. Rutgers defeated Temple, 61-14, in its season opener. The Under is 10-0 since 2011 when the Scarlet Knights are not more than three-point favorites on the road and are coming off a regulation game where they scored at least 28 points.

Both of these non-conference opponents are coming off impressive Week 1 victories. Texas A&M destroyed Kent State 41-10, covering as 29.5-point home favorites. Meanwhile, Colorado took down Northern Colorado 35-7, although the Buffs failed to cover as 37.5-point home favorites. This line opened with Texas A&M listed as a 17-point road favorite. The public sees an easy blowout win and cover with a ranked, Top 5 Aggies squad. However, despite this lopsided betting we've seen the line remain at -17. Normally, if one side is getting overwhelming support the line will be adjusted in their favor, with oddsmakers moving the number further toward the popular side in order to entice betting on the opponent so they can mitigate their risk. However, this line has never crept up to -18 or -19 despite the heavy Aggies support. This signals a sharp line freeze on the Buffs at home, with pros leaning toward grabbing the points. Colorado has value as a double-digit unranked home contrarian dog against a ranked opponent.


4:30 p.m. ET: Iowa (1-0, ranked 10th) at Iowa State (1-0, ranked 9th)

This in-state grudge match between undefeated Top 10 teams is shaping up to be one of the biggest "Pros vs Joes" matchups of Saturday's Week 2 slate. The public perception of these teams is vastly different. Iowa is coming off an impressive 34-6 win over Indiana, easily covering as 3.5-point home favorites. Meanwhile, Iowa State barely edged Northern Iowa 16-10, failing to cover as 28.5-point home favorites. This line opened with Iowa State listed as a 3.5-point home favorite. The public is rushing to the window to grab the points with Iowa, who looked far better in their season opener. However, despite a majority of bettors backing Iowa, we've seen this line move further to Iowa State (-3.5 to -4.5). This signals sharp "Fade the Trendy Dog" reverse line movement on the Cyclones, with pros buying low on Iowa State at home to win and cover. Iowa State is a rare contrarian favorite in a heavily bet game. When two ranked teams go head-to-head, the favorite is roughly 55% ATS over the past decade. We've also seen some over money show up, raising the total from 44.5 to 46.


7 p.m. ET: NC State (1-0) at Mississippi State (1-0)

This primetime showdown is one of the most lopsided games of the day, which creates notable value for contrarian minded bettors. NC State just destroyed South Florida 45-0, easily covering as 20-point home favorites. On the flip side, Mississippi State barely edged Louisiana Tech 35-34, failing to cover as 20.5-point home favorites. In other words, one team cruised while the other barely staved off a terrible upset loss. This line opened with NC State listed as a 2.5-point road favorite. The public can't believe the line is so low and are hammering the Wolfpack to cover the short spread. However, we've seen this line fall from -2 to -1, which indicates wiseguy action backing Mississippi State at home (+ 2 to + 1). The Bulldogs combine two key elements for data-driven bettors: contrarian in a heavily bet game and sharp reverse line movement in their favor.


10:15 p.m. ET: Utah (1-0, ranked 21st) at BYU (1-0)

This in-state rivalry commonly referred to as The Holy War is the most heavily bet late game on Saturday night. Utah enters ranked 21st, having just beaten Weber State 40-17 but failing to cover as 29.5-point home favorites. Similarly, BYU edged Arizona 24-16 but failed to cover as 13.5-point home favorites. Memphis is one of only five FBS programs with at least eight wins each of the last seven seasons. Both clubs opened this year with wins over FCS foes, but it's a bit concerning that A-State was down 7-6 at the half to Central Arkansas. St Louis on the other hand has an inexperienced arm on the mound (while he has past experience, this year it is limited to just 5 starts, with an ERA over 5.00), the Cardinals are also 6-13 @ H vs. divisional opponents (including 3-9 in game 2 of a divisional series) and the Cards are 1-10 vs. a SP w/ ERA > 4.00 w/ a line > 106!

Analysis:This just might be THE MOST advantageous spot if you just utilize the “spots” per se and nothing to do with the teams….even then, however, it is probably the play of the season, that every bettor should be on, either for 1 reason or the other or other!
Indiana was a surprise excellent 2020 Covid season team…they went 6-1 in the league….lost AT THE SHOE by just 7 points in which they threw for 500 yards and intercepted Justin Fields 3 times….losing finally 42-35…but due to the Buckeyes appealing the “rules of Covid” the Hoosiers were left out of the B1G title game as OSU went 5-0…despite “needing to play 6 games”!
THIS is the description of the team Iowa played in week 1…a team that opened a 4.5/5 point DOG at really smart/sharp books like Pinnacle, Heritage, and Westgate! Naturally it was bet down, both by sharps and squares…and I don't blame them…it felt like a potential turning point for a program so exaggeratedly hoops only maybe able to field a New Years Bowl worthy football squad year in and year out!
So as I ramble on….I will alert those who ARE NOT with me All Access of what the All Access members are allocated by purchasing a full season prior to the season etc. We took Iowa ML as our FIRST play of the entire CFB season…it was the most obvious play and the most advantageous play on the entire (ENORMOUS) Saturday slate. As much as I didn't care what the spread was…I am not in the mood to be “beaten" on the line…torn between that spot where -4.5 was fine with me…but getting the “best of the number” is sometimes seen as more valuable…by many sports bettors. Thusly, were the game to appropriately move closer and closer to EVEN as I expected, I had no desire to deal with the yada yada yada that ensues.
Long story short, Iowa manhandled Indiana 34-6 on their home field…waving to the Children's Hospital patients along the way as Ferentz made the Hoosiers look silly on the both sides of the ball. Check mark for us…but we are slow playing…as you may have guessed!
Meanwhile, Matt Campbell and his Cyclones yet again opened the season with a stinker…"narrowly" defeating the Panthers of FCS Northern Iowa on the home field in Ames! 16-10 was the final score and afterward, to save face…Campbell even stated he was going to just play the opponent's game, gambling they had ZERO chance of putting it in the endzone!
Read those last 2 paragraphs again….then MAKE YOUR OWN LINE FOLKS!



Yep….exactly….how many of you had the latter favored over the former by MORE THAN A FIELD GOAL??
Sometimes sports gambling ain't so hard…this is the exact situation that even began the “Fade the Beg” theory and continued its evolution into one of our most winning long-term strategies! Vegas is literally on its hands and knees SCREEEAMING and BEGGGGGGGING for those that bet Iowa last week (US!) to bet them again…and they damn well know it just ain't happening….at least it certainly ain't happening in any worthwhile $$ amounts!
PLAY THIS LIKE YOU HAD THE ABILITY TO PLAY A GAME OF THE SEASON TYPE SPOT or you believed in such sayings or “plays”….we do NOT recommend you play anything bigger than a 10 Unit or 10% of your bankroll type spot…but THIS IS THAT…were you to be of that ILK! (I will be going 20 Units personally…not necessarily 20%!)
