Ishikawa is old as dirt but has been slinging it really well. Chuinichi has been hitting well lately but they are still the worst lineup in the league. With the power lineup and the SP in great form, take the Yakult Swallows on the 1st 5 money line. I do not trust their bullpen but this lineup should be able to get it done.

ANALYSIS: Baltimore has been plagued by injuries over the last two weeks, but that shouldn’t impact its chances to cover much. The Ravens still have one of the best secondaries in the league even without Marcus Peters (done for season) and should be able to out-scheme Las Vegas. John Harbaugh is 10-3 ATS in Week 1 and 9-4 ATS when his team has extra rest mid-season. Bottom line, when his guys are rested they usually cover. My model also has a slight edge, making this game closer to the -5 opening line. Take the Ravens to cover.

This Monday Night Football showdown features a pair of playoff hopefuls looking to start their seasons on the right foot. The Ravens went 11-5 last season, upsetting the Titans 20-13 in the Wild Card Round before falling to the Bills 17-3 in the Divisional Round. Meanwhile, the Raiders went 8-8 in their inaugural Las Vegas campaign, missing the playoffs for the fourth consecutive year. The Raiders started last season 6-3 before going just 2-5 down the stretch.

This line opened with Baltimore listed as a four-point road favorite. The public sees an easy win and cover with Lamar Jackson and company as is happy to lay the points with Baltimore. Heavily lopsided betting pushed Baltimore up from -4 to -4.5. But then a rash of Ravens injuries, combined with some smart money favoring the Raiders getting the hook, dropped the line back down to -4. Baltimore will be missing running backs J. K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards, plus starting cornerback Marcus Peters.

The Raiders have heightened contrarian value as they're an unpopular dog in a heavily bet, primetime game. Las Vegas also matches the red-hot Week 1 dog system, which is 11-4 ATS this season and 56.5% ATS the past decade. Also, buy-low Week 1 dogs who missed the playoffs the previous season are 8-2 ATS so far this year and 75-54 ATS (58.1%) the past decade. The Raiders will enjoy home field advantage for the first time in their Vegas history, after no fans were allowed in the stands last season.

Pros also seem to be leaning on the under. The total opened at 51 and has fallen to 50 despite a majority of bets backing the over. This signals some sharp under reverse line movement.

The problem for them which is great for us is that Darvish has a 6.84 ERA since the beginning of July and the Padres have lost seven of his 10 starts in there. Plus, the Giants are 18 1/2 games better than the Padres overall and are 43-25 at home. The Padres are 30-37 on the road and have gone 8-19 since Aug. 10. I'm not too worried about the Giants needing a bullpen game here. Dominic Leone starts things off and he has a 1.27 ERA in his last 21 1/3 innings and the group as a whole is excellent.

ANALYSIS: The Blue Jays are 11-1 this month and have won 14 of their last 16. They come home to the Rogers Centre where they are 17-7. Alek Manoah gets the start and he's overall been good, albeit a bit inconsistent (what else would we expect from a rookie starting pitcher?). It's all about the offense here, though. During these last 16 games, the Jays are hitting .304/.390/.582 while averaging 7.5 runs per game. The Rays appear to be running out a bullpen game and while they are deep and good, I like the Jays to get to them at some point.

ANALYSIS: Even though the Mets were at home Sunday night and the Cardinals had to fly to New York, the Cardinals still got to bed earlier while the Mets were finishing up a marathon nine-inning game packed full of emotion. Monday seems like a hangover game. Plus, the Mets have to deal with Adam Wainwright. The Cardinals have won an absurd 14 of Wainwright's last 17 starts. He has a 2.29 ERA in that stretch. He works deep into games, too, averaging 7 1/3 innings per start over his last 10. The Mets send Rich Hill to the mound and he's been really good in his own right, though the Cardinals hit lefties hard.

The Baltimore Ravens are a better team offensively than Las Vegas and a much better team defensively than Las Vegas...oh and might have the best FG kicker in the league too. The Ravens have outscored its opponents 144-19 over the last three season openers, in fact they've won the last three by 30+ points each. Lamar Jackson has no problem playing on the road either, he's 13-4-1 ATS in his career. In case you need any further convincing, Baltimore has had the No. 1 rushing offense in back-to-back seasons. The Raiders rush D? Bottom 10. Take the Ravens.
