The Flames are very equal on offense with Tampa Bay but they have a big edge on defense giving up a full half a goal fewer per game. Both teams' defenses suck, Sassuolo allowing 1.52 xGA and Genoa allowing 1.72. Each of the last five meetings between the teams has finished Over the total.

Juve had won five of their last six games, including a Champions League game vs Malmo, before the winter break and by scores we have grown accustomed to seeing from Juve over the years, which are a lot of 2-0 wins. The concern I have with them however, is their lack of performances against the top teams. In Serie A against the Top-4 teams, they have yet to earn a win with draws against both Milans, a loss to Atalanta and the aforementioned loss to Napoli.

Napoli started off the season red hot, winning ten of their first 11 games and sat on top of the Serie A table along with AC Milan. Since then, however, they have just two wins in their last eight games to go along with two draws and four losses, as they seem to have been struggling with managing both Serie A and Europa League duties.

Still, Napoli are the #1 defense in Serie A in both actual goals allowed, 14 through 19 games, and xGA (expected goals allowed), just 0.74, 2nd only to Manchester City across the Big 5 European Leagues.

Bottom line is I don’t trust Juventus in the big game situation right now as they have yet to really prove themselves in league play and knowing Napoli only need a draw, I think we are looking at some pretty good value in taking the + goals at an even money price.

Very sneaky little spot here where I don't NEED a ton more analysis than the fact the books have this listed where it appears as though McNeese is the home team per se….just simply New Orleans listed on top and McNeese on bottom…of a game being played today in Katy, TX at the Merrell Center.

Both Louisiana clubs are traveling today for an early afternoon tip off at a neutral site…for a conference matchup …of which each team will ALSO host…thus 3 meetings this season…all relatively soon actually. New Orleans is the better team ..by a solid margin honestly…but a margin KenPom doesn't agree…and the neutral court aspect on a matchup between 2 teams separated by less than 20 spots in his ratings…

The Privateers have the better roster, better coach (by far), have a large EFG% advantage, solid turnover differential advantage, AND McNeese State is the ACTUAL worst FT shooting team in the country ..not ONLY do they put the opponent there at a 40 FTA/FGA rate…they shoot <57% from the line themselves….with their top shooter barely above 60% himself!

In a season where the conference is legitimately “up for grabs” with the defections of every NCAAT representative back to 2018….sure Nicholls State looks like.the class….but Slessinger's team beats this type of opponent on a neutral court 10 out of 10….and we just have to pay THIS for a ML?!

McNeese doesn't really have a player as good as ANY of the 3 top Privateers…in Green, Kirkland, and especially St. Hilaire….and the spread at -1.5 or -2 or even -2.5 is fine by me….

But at just -120 on the ML in this spot….it is 10 UNIT-ESQUE NO DOUBT!!!

5% NHL Regulation Wager - Calgary Flames at Tampa Bay Lightning

The Tampa Bay Lightning got back on track by beating the Columbus Blue Jackets after losing three straight games and I think that 7-2 victory over the Jackets was the beginning of a solid run for the Bolts. Sure the Lightning beat a team that's not too high in the standings against a goaltender that has struggled, but they did it in impressive fashion. The Tampa Bay Lightning flexed their muscles that is the depth of their roster. Many people talk about the talent the Lightning have on their top line and for good reason, but the depth of the Tampa Bay Lightning is second to none, and it's why they were able to win back-to-back Stanley Cup championships. The difference in this match-up is that the games that Tampa has lost recently have been to strong teams like New York & Florida, but the Calgary Flames have defeated teams like the Kraken and Blackhawks, two teams that aren't too impressive and high on my rankings, but teams they've lost to on a large scale have been a complete mixed bag of low talent teams and high talent. The Calgary Flames have a strong skill set in their top six, there's no denying that, but I don't believe they can trade goals with the Tampa Bay Lightning that have speed all throughout their roster, and several d-men that are more than willing to jump into the rush.

Covid has been a big talk of handicapping lately, who's in? Who's out? Which teams are healthy? The Lightning had some COVID issues themselves including their superstar goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy who looked a bit rusty in his first game after quarantine but he followed that up with a solid outing against Columbus stopping 20 of his 22 shots against. Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov is also set to make his highly anticipated return tonight which should add a huge spark to the already talent filled lineup that the Lightning have.

The Flames are in tough tonight against a well rounded team that plays great hockey at home.
