Chelsea is a very good defensive side, allowing the third fewest xGA at 0.98 per game, along with the third fewest shots and shots on goal in the league. But they are just not creating chances like they were earlier this season. While dealing with several players in COVID protocol certainly hurt them, now as they have gotten healthy, they are still struggling to get anything going as evidenced by Tuesday’s draw with Brighton in which they generated just 0.57 xG. In their last six games, Chelsea have averaged just 1.16 xG compared to averaging 2.05 in their first 17.

The Spurs haven’t lost a single EPL game since Antonio Conte took over on the sidelines. They have played nine matches during his tenure with six wins and three draws and have kept five clean sheets allowing a total of just six goals.

This is the 3rd meeting in three weeks for these teams as Chelsea won both legs of their Carabao Cup semifinal by scores of 2-0 and 1-0. Tottenham is without Heung-Min Son due to injury and replacing his 0.61 xG + xA per game average is not going to be easy to do and a big reason why they failed to threaten any chance of a comeback in Leg 2.

With both of those matches finishing Under the total, these teams have now had seven of their last nine matches finish under 2.5 goals and I like it to happen once more on Sunday.

Wolfsburg have been awful, winless in their last eight games and they have scored just one goal over their last six while allowing 13. Leipzig have had a disappointing season by their standards but have come out after the winter break winning each of their first two games by a combined 6-1 scoreline. At home, they are generating 2.62 xG while allowing 1.35 xGA and I like their chances to win this game and hopefully by multiple goals.

Bayern could very likely hit this Over themselves as they did this past weekend winning 4-0 on the road at Koln. It was a good rebound game for them after their 1-2 home loss to Gladbach the week prior which was their only game of their last four that they failed to score at least four goals themselves.

Hertha Berlin played out a 0-0 draw this past weekend at Wolfsburg, which snapped a 3-game streak of Over 3.5 goals which included an impressive 3-2 win over Dortmund. Although it’s unlikely they are able to pull out another surprise win here against Bayern who have beaten them in four straight games, scoring at least four goals in three of those.

Bayern have the best xG numbers in all of Europe, generating 3.12 xG per game which doesn’t bode well for Hertha Berlin who have given up the 2nd most goals in the Bundesliga this season, 38 through 19 games.

Both of these divisional winners are coming off big Wild Card wins. The 4-seed Rams (13-5 SU, 9-9 ATS) crushed the Cardinals 34-11, easily covering as 3.5-point home favorites. Similarly, the 2-seed Bucs (14-4 SU, 10-8 ATS) brushed aside the Eagles 31-15, covering as 7-point home favorites.

This line opened with Tampa Bay listed as a 3-point home favorite. At BetMGM, the bets are split down the middle. In a vacuum, a line shouldn't move at all if the tickets are even. However, we've seen this line fall from 3 to 2.5, signaling respected money grabbing the Rams plus the points. Playoff dogs with a line move in their favor are 28-12 ATS (70%) over the past decade. Shawn Hochuli, the lead ref, has historically favored road teams (36-25 ATS, 59%).

The Bucs have value as a cheap moneyline home favorite (-145). Over the past decade, Divisional Round home favorites are 27-10 (73%) straight up. The Bucs have a rest advantage as well, as Tampa Bay played on Sunday afternoon while the Rams are on a short week after playing Monday night.

We've also seen some respected money hit this under, dropping the total from 48.5 to 48 despite 66% of bets taking the over. Playoff unders that fall at least a half point are 26-19 (58%) over the last decade. Hochuli has historically favored unders (34-25, 58%). The forecast calls for low 60d with 10-15 MPH winds. When the wind blows 10 MPH or more, the under is 16-8 (67%) in the playoffs the past decade.

6:30 p.m. ET: Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs

Both of these Super Bowl hopefuls are coming off Wild Card Weekend blowout wins. The 3-seed Bills (12-6 SU, 10-6-2 ATS) just dominated the Patriots 47-17, covering as 4.5-point home favorites. Similarly, the 2-seed Chiefs (13-5 SU, 9-9 ATS) just crushed the Steelers 42-21, covering as 11.5-point home favorites.

This line opened with Kansas City listed as a 2.5-point home favorite. The public is happy to lay the points with Mahomes at home at such a short price. However, despite 57% of bets taking the Chiefs, this line has fallen from 2.5 to 1.5. This signals sharp reverse line movement on Buffalo, with pros grabbing the points not laying them. Buffalo could be a prime teaser spot (+ 1.5 to+ 7.5), which goes through multiple key numbers. Josh Allen is 16-9 ATS (64%) in his career as a dog. Playoff dogs with a line move in their favor are 28-12 ATS (70%) over the past decade. Buffalo enjoys a rest advantage, having played last Saturday compared to the Chiefs playing last Sunday.

Pros and Joes both expect a high scoring game, as the total has been steamed up from 53 to 54. Currently 83% of bets and 93% of money is on the over. The forecast at Arrowhead calls for low 30s with mild 5 MPH winds. These teams met back in Week 5 and Buffalo upset the Chiefs 38-20 at Arrowhead.

Analysis: I'm playing on LA. Needless to say, I respect Brady and the Bucs. They're the defending champs. Brady has won more playoff games than Stafford will ever play in. That said, I believe that the Rams are peaking at the right time. Tampa isn't 100% healthy at the moment. The injuries didn't hurt them against Philly but the Rams are on a different level than the Eagles. While Brady won't panic the way that Murray did, the Rams are going to be all over him. The Rams beat the Bucs by 10 back in September. That was at LA. However, they also beat them here at Tampa, last November. Factoring in those results, the Rams are 8-1 ATS the past nine meetings, 5-0 ATS the past five. While the LA defense is dominant, I also really like what I'm seeing from the offense. Stafford got the monkey off his back with a playoff win and the Beckham Jr. got going in the WC game. Kupp has been getting it done all year and now they've added Akers into to the backfield. I'll happily grab the points but I expect the very well-coached Rams to score the upset.

Analysis:
I'm playing on Buffalo/KC UNDER the total. Both these teams saw their WC games go 'over' the total. Both offenses certainly looked impressive. Many will also recall that the last two meetings between these teams, one this past October and one last January, were also high-scoring. Those results have worked in our favor though, as they've helped to provide us with a generously high O/U line. I believe that it'll prove to be too high. Yes, the offenses are potent. However, let's not forget that the Bills also have the best defense in football. They allow the fewest number of points per game and they also allow the fewest yards per game and per play. In terms of points allowed per game, the Chiefs are a top #10 defense. They're a different team now than they were when they faced the Bills last season, or even earlier this season. The gameplan wasn't working early on so Reid and co. changed things up. They started taking what the opposing defense gave them and having much longer scoring drives. It should also be mentioned that the Chiefs have been particularly stingy at home. Since the Bills beat them here in October, the Chiefs have played seven home games. They allowed 21, 10, 9, 9, 9, 7 and 17 points. That's an average of less than 12 ppg allowed, over the past seven games here. While many will be expecting a shootout, I say that the defense/s rises to the occasion and that the final combined score stays below the generously high total.

Analysis:
I'm playing on DENVER. The Nuggets are off a loss. After this game, they've got a long road trip. It starts at Detroit, with a rematch against the Pistons. That makes taking care of business on their home floor absolutely mandatory. Catching the Pistons at the end of a road trip, I expect the motivated Nuggets to deliver a blowout. The Nuggets were laying -11.5 when they hosted the Pistons last year. They jumped out to a 20-point lead by halftime and cruised to a 15-point win. Tonight, off the Memphis loss, I don't expect them to take their foot off the gas. The Pistons are 4-20 away from Detroit and get outscored by a 115-101 avg score. Host teams hit 48.7% of their field goals against Detroit; terrible defense. This remains one of the tougher venues in the league. Expect a one-sided affair.
