Race 1: The Pearce Memorial Challenge Cup Plate

Tricky opener to contend with. #6 Inspiring City caught the eye prior to his debut and it’ll pay to stick with him here. He was inconvenienced in the run home on debut and without that hindrance he goes very, very close. #5 Superb Move should be a decent price and has done enough to suggest that he’s moving in the right direction. #2 Happy Won will be well supported and rightly so. He comes from the right barn but at the likely (short) price he might be worth opposing. #1 Forever Friends can improve again. Keep safe.

Race 2: The Purves Quaich Handicap

#7 Lucky Ruby should roll forward and pressure for the lead. Expect he finds it with his speed and from there he could take a power of running down, especially under the in-form Matthew Chadwick. #9 Wisdom Patch mixes his form but has shown plenty of prowess on the dirt. He won well two runs back and has proven his worth in this grade. #1 Quadruple Double gets a handy claim and should relish the class drop. He’s done well on the dirt previously. Keep safe. #3 Happy Tango has the runs on the board. Next best.

Race 3: The Swaine Cup Handicap

#6 Chicken Dance appears back to his best and with that he can win here. He delivered a strong effort for second last time out and it wouldn’t surprise to see him go one better this weekend. #2 Turbo Power should improve second-up following that first-up effort for sixth last time out. Zac Purton sticks aboard and any improvement should see him go close. #1 Proud Dragon is progressing. The big weight is a hindrance but he’s showing enough class and this grade might be what he is after. #5 Country Treasure is next best.

Race 4: The Wong Cup Handicap

#3 Shanghai Power is racing well enough to suggest that another win this season is nearing. This could well be his final chance to do so and if they roll forward to lead he could prove quite difficult to reel in. #12 Grand Power surprised two runs back and has held his form since then. He’s in with an opportunity here. #11 Run Des Run is a big brute of horse, but he is in sound enough form at the minute. He’ll get his chance on the speed for Antoine Hamelin. #6 El Valiente has consistency on his side. Don’t discount.

Race 5: The Li Cup Handicap

#5 Universal Horizon has done enough at home to suggest he could figure strongly on debut. He looks above average and has come up with a nice enough gate to ensure he gets every chance. #3 Sweet Diamond is after back-to-back wins and breaks favourably from gate three under Alexis Badel. He’s well weighted. #12 Smart Folks turned his form around last start which, at times, he can mix regularly. He’s worth including. #1 California Vanes is the likely favourite. Still, he has to overcome a sticky gate and hefty weight.

Race 6: The Arculli Trophy Handicap

#8 Woodfire Bro has mixed his form but has shown plenty of early form so far. He’s a red-hot little talent who, if he can offset the wide, is capable of collecting a first win. #2 Palace Pal is rolling towards a first win also. The wide gate makes life hard here, however, expect he finds himself in the second half of the field regardless. #1 Let’s Do It mixes his form but is edging ever so close to a maiden win. The retention of Zac Purton bears close watching. #3 King Tourbillon is progressing well. He’s a tidy little stayer it seems.

Race 7: The Chan Trophy Handicap

#12 Plikclone has trouble maintaining a string of consistent runs. Still, on his day he knows what it’s all about and the inside draw, booking of Antoine Hamelin and low weight should offer him every chance to go on with things. #6 Tycoon Jewellery narrowly missed last start. He’s on an upward trajectory and a win is close. #10 Boom Stitch has done well previously when ridden close to the speed. If they do that here then look out. #11 Get The Monies is improving. He’s worth supporting on a win and place line as a blowout chance.

Race 8: The Stevenson Cup Handicap

#9 Beauty Charge rattled home from the tail of the field on debut in Hong Kong and he should get his chance here with a closer run in transit. Expect improvement, enough to suggest the possibility of a boilover. #3 Brilliant Way is a consistent customer who should once again produce a performance worthy of winning. #7 Reve Parisien has a bit of class about him. He gets his opportunity. #6 Smart Idea has the runs and wins on the board this term. He just needs to translate that form from Happy Valley to Sha Tin.

Race 9: The Ip Jup Handicap

#9 Super Axiom will roll forward as he always does. He draws well and with an early lead he should be able to run this group along at a pace to suit. Expect he’s back out racing to do so again for trainer Me Tsui. #10 Jolly Ruler is improving and appears worth consideration. He slots in light and with further development here he can contend. #7 Valiant Elegance is another should settle close to the speed. He knows what it’s all about here. #8 Call Me Teddy mixes his form but is worth consideration. Still, Michael Chang and Zac Purton don’t combine for a win too often.

Race 10: The Chow Silver Plate Handicap

#2 Master Montaro will improve returning to Sha Tin after finishing down the field at Happy Valley last time out. He thrives over this course and distance and if he can take closer order here then he should get his shot. #7 Keefy is chasing back-to-back wins. He’s on the steady improve and another bold effort is expected. #4 Sauvestre is now a two-time winner in town. He’s classy and should be competitive again. #11 Private Rocket is next best. Don’t discount a return to his best.

There are 3 NH fixtures for jumps fans to get stuck into, with action from Perth, Sligo and Stratford sure to attract big summer crowds.

He has been found a very weak looking handicap at Perth on Sunday, and hopefully the excellent Derek Fox will be able to produce him late and smoothly after the last without having to come under maximum pressure.

RACE 6: KING’S HARLEQUIN (#6)

Chad Brown sends out a pair of runners who both figure to attract support in this optional claiming event. #2 Nevisian Sunrise stretches back out in distance after failing to handle sprinting in the Intercontinental last time. I like the distance for her, but I’m just not thrilled with her prior form. She beat a mediocre field at Keeneland two back, and figures to vie for favoritism given the fact that Irad Ortiz is riding. #7 Zainalarab is perhaps more appealing since she’s only had the one start on turf, in which she ran quite well to be second. However, now she’s stretching out to a mile and it’s no guarantee that added distance will suit her. I won’t be shocked when either wins, but I wanted to look elsewhere. I think #5 Miss Dracarys could bounce back at a square price. She ran well behind Love and Thunder two back, albeit with a very good trip. I didn’t like her last effort but she may prefer more ground than 7 furlongs these days, as she just seemed to have trouble keeping up with the pace on the turn. I’m going with a different horse out of the Love and Thunder race. #6 King’s Harlequin finished fifth that day, but it was her U.S. debut while returning a one-year layoff. Christophe Clement does not do well with foreign shippers first time in this country, but he does do better second off a layoff. Over the past 5 years, he is 12 for 48 (25%, $2.23 ROI) second off a 180+ day layoff in turf routes at NYRA. King’s Harlequin has solid French form to build upon from early in her career. She got a wide trip last time and should fare better here.

RACE 7: QUEEN BOURBON (#5)

Christophe Clement arguably has the two fillies to beat in #2 Eylara and #8 Classic Colors. I much prefer the latter of the two. Classic Colors delivered a career-best performance in her return last time, closing into a moderate pace to win pretty easily over a couple of next-out winners. This is a step up in class as she tries open company, but she appears to have matured since she tried this level as a 3-year-old. The bigger question is the stretch-out in distance, but she has enough stamina on the bottom side of her pedigree to handle it. She has plenty of upside, whereas Eylara has just been a little disappointing in her two U.S. starts to date. A couple of fillies are shipping in from Churchill Downs. #4 Stepper finished well to be second behind the talented Lady Rockstar in that May 7 race at this level. However, that was by far the best performance of this 3-year-old’s career, and I’m not convinced that the added distance is going to suit her. I’m far more interested in #5 Queen Bourbon. This filly made her turf debut a winning one after a trio of solid dirt efforts last year. It took her a while to get back to the races after that, and I think she’s run deceptively well since returning as an older horse. She was facing better rivals both two and three back, as April 15 winner Ocean Road returned to win the G1 Gamely out west, and Lady Rockstar came to New York with a dominant performance. I also thought she might have moved too soon in that May 7 affair. I wouldn’t be too concerned about the stretch-out for her, since she’s handled 1 1/4 miles on dirt. She picks up Irad Ortiz, who should have her forwardly placed in a race that doesn’t feature much early speed.

RACE 9: THE ICEMAN COMMETH (#6)

It’s hard to trust anyone in this wide-open maiden claiming affair, which closes out the Belmont meet. #2 North Carolinaonce had turf form that towered over this field, but his recent efforts leave a lot to be desired. #9 Calloway Peak has to be considered on the class drop. Even though he hasn’t done much running in his races, he’s exiting one of the best maiden special weight events of the meet and may have found the right field returning on short rest. A couple of runners exit that 10-furlong maiden special weight event on May 20. #8 Dream of a Day stayed on mildly late without really threatening, though he’s another who could appreciate the drop. I’d be more interested in #7 Greg’s Honor, who got a somewhat indecisive ride, making an early move on the backstretch before fading. He should fare better as John Velazquez takes over. My top pick is #6 the Iceman Commeth. I had though this horse was an interesting prospect in his debut prior to that race getting rained off the turf. He clearly needed the experience, as he got squeezed back at the start and had no speed thereafter. Yet he did get rolling in the last quarter mile, passing tiring runners before galloping out with interest. Keen Ice has had a bit of success with turf routers, and the dam earned some of her best speed figures on turf despite never winning on the surface. Second dam Duty Dance was an excellent turf performer, so there is plenty of pedigree for him to handle the surface. Tom Morley runners tend to do better with experience, and this gelding isn’t meeting the toughest field.

Ilgan Sports Sunday Seoul & Busan: Race-By-Race Preview (July 10)

The Listed Ilgan Sports Trophy is the feature race on a day where there are 10 races at Seoul from 10:45 to 18:00 and 7 at Busan from 11:35 to 17:05. Here are the previews:

Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1300M) Allowance / KRW 25 Million

Tricky maiden to open with. Without too much confidence, we’ll side with (5) LONDON MYEONGGA. He has hinted at figuring out what to do in his latest two, running 5th both times over 1300M and 1200M. Moon Se-young getting booked today may suggest this is his time. (1) PERFECT TIME was a significantly improved 2nd when stepped up to this trip on June 5th. She settled back and ran on well in a fair time that time and won’t need to improve much to go very close here. (7) GLOBAL STORM ran a solid 3rd at this distance on June 11th and from a similar gate and against similar calibre opposition can be competitive again. (6) RESERVED JOHN and (3) LAST CALL others to consider.

Seoul Race 2: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

Competitive race featuring six fillies and one gelding. (2) BAEKDU MIIN ran out a very pleasing gate to wire winner over this distance on debut on May 28th, overcoming a wide draw to lead. She comes up in class here but is down in weights and comes into a better gate with solid claims of maintaining her 100% record. The primary danger is (4) OLD START who comes back in trip having led for much of the way around 1400M at his latest outing on May 14th. He has run good times at this distance and will be expected to be on the lead again here. (3) NANA LAND too is another who has put in some decent times at the distance and while she can get a bit far back in her races, should be competitive here. (5) GO GO STAR beat Nana Land when they faced one another on June 11th. That was an uptick on recent form, but she shouldn’t be ruled out. (7) HAPPY NEWMA comes up in class off a slightly unexpected all the way win over this distance back in April and may measure up.

Seven juveniles make their racecourse debuts here so it’s to the trial videos that we head. We find that (6) GOLD ROSE was the most convincing in her heat, making all to cross the line well ahead of the rest in a fair time over the 1000M. If she brings that form to the races, she will be hard to beat. (5) BUILD UP ran 2nd in his trial but it was in a time almost as fast as that of Gold Rose. He settled back and ran on and is set for a bold showing first-up. (7) I’M KING IJI made all to win his heat. The time was touch slower than some of today’s rivals but nevertheless, he di what he needed to do and should have come on for the experience. (3) PISTOL STAR posted the quickest time of any of them in trials. It was a fast heat on a wet track but should stand him in good stead here. (1) THUNDER CROWN didn’t disgrace himself either and draws nicely on debut.

Seoul Race 3: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

Three main ones in the frame here but his last start 2nd at class and distance is enough to tip the balance toward (3) NAMSAN CHOCOLATE. She does come up in the weights by 2kg from that day when she settled behind the lead and ran on behind a good winner, but that’s balanced a little by a better gate and today can be here day. (7) TIZ SUCCESS comes up in class following a 2nd place on debut followed by a win, both at today’s distance. She has raced handy to the lead both times and while this is harder, she is lightly weighted and can measure up in this company. (8) BLUE CHARM is yet to win in fifteen starts but has been consistently close. He comes back in trip and should be a danger here running on. (1) M J TIME and (5) GOLDEN SCOOP, who has won a trial since her latest outing, are others to consider.

Busan Race 2: Class 6 (1200M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

After an indifferent debut, (6) HANEUL JILJU has, over three subsequent outings, looks very much as though she is working towards a maiden win with a 4th, 3rd and a 2nd. She has led in all those races, will surely do so again here, and this time she should come out on top. It took (1) PHANTOM QUEEN a little bit longer to show that she is figuring things out but her form in her latest two certainly reads well with a 4th and a 3rd. She doesn’t benefit from an apprentice claim today but that’s countered by having Seo Seung-un climb aboard and she should be running on late. (5) SIMON TOP GUN has mixed her form across her thirteen starts so far. She is yet to finish in the top-three but has plenty of minor money finishes and in this company can be looking for a best result to date. (2) DOCTOR PERSIA and (4) BOOMY STAR others who may be competitive.

Small but competitive field. Despite being a maiden, (6) THUNDER FLASH looks a worthy favourite. He led for much of the way around over class and distance on June 4th, ultimately finishing a very close at hand 3rd. In this company, he should be able to get an easy lead and is the one to beat. (7) GANA FASHION comes rapidly up in class having finished 2nd in both her starts so far, both over 1200M. She comes down in the weights, can sit on pace or handy here and can measure up in this company. (4) RAON THE GOLD comes in having pulled off an unexpected win at this class over 1200M on May 29th at odds of 50/1. She gets an additional 3.5kg for her troubles but warrants a little more respect this time. (1) SINHAN TEUKSONG and (5) BE FLOWER also in the frame.

(8) SHAKA comes up in class having registered his maiden win at start number three on June 24th when leading from gate to wire. He should be able to lead here again and has every chance of a repeat. (4) TWO TWO COIN beat Shaka when winning over this distance at class 6 level on May 27th. She stepped up to 1300M for her first try at this class on June 26th but while she was handy for much of the way around, she ultimately finished in 7th. She comes back in trip here and slightly down in the weights and she can get closer today. (6) GEUMBIT SKY ran 5th in that June 26th race, continuing a run of consistent form. He likes to settle back and run on, and he can go close today. (5) ANASTASIA and (2) INDY CHOICE are others with placing claims.

Seoul Race 5: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

Small field here and (6) NONSTOP REWARD is the one to beat. He comes in having won at class and distance on June 5th when settling in midfield and then running on to win comfortably. He does come up a full 3.5kg in the weights but should be equal to it and can win again. (5) DOKKAEBE returned from more than six months out to run a creditable 5th of ten at class and distance on June 5th. He should have come on for that run, remains nicely weighted and can get closer today. (3) CHEONGCHUN VIVA ran a good 3rd in that June 5th race having been handy throughout. He was second up following a spell of his own and can continue to make progress here. (1) TAPDOWN, under a light weight and from a good gate may improve, while (4) FASHIONED PASSION is another in the minor money hunt.

Busan Race 4: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

(1) GEUMA INFINITE struggled from the widest gate, ultimately finishing 7th on his first try at this class over 1400M on June 26th. He had previously won smartly at that distance at class 6 level and from a much better gate today, can be a different prospect. (5) BEST WIND overcame a wide draw to run very well for 2nd in an all-filly race at class and distance on June 12th. She comes up slightly in weight but draws much better and that may be enough to see her start as favourite here. (7) JOSEPHINE QUEEN came from well off the pace to get her maiden win at start number five over 1200M on June 3rd. She comes up in class and back up in trip today but neither should be an issue and she can be competitive. (8) HANEUL JEONSA and (2) SPICE INDIE others in the placing frame.

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(4) MIRACLE DAUGHTER has made all in her latest two, winning handsomely both times to come rapidly up to this class. The manner of those victories suggests that there is more to come and in this small field, she should be getting to the front again and can complete her hat-trick. (5) MIGHTY KICK is yet to win in eight but has put in some consistent performances so far. Song Jae-chul climbs aboard today and while he may again find one too quick, he looks a firm placing chance. So too does (1) MUNHAK STORM, who beat Mighty Kick on his way to 2nd place over class and distance on June 5th. That was his best finish to date and the half-brother to Moonhak Chief can build on that today. The form falls rapidly off after those three with perhaps (3) DIRT SURFER and (7) ANYANG HORANGI next best.

Having secured his maiden win over 1300M back in April at class 6 level, (1) YONGGARI has recorded back-to-back 3rd place finishes at this class, at 1200M and a mile, most recently beating three of today’s rivals on June 17th. From an excellent draw, he can settle behind the leaders and run on and could prove too strong. (2) STAR CATCH comes up in class after registering her maiden win at the sixth time of asking on June 26th when always handy over 1400M. That win had been coming, she is nicely weighted and drawn here, and she should measure up in this company. (8) WONDERFUL FILE ran 4th behind Yonggari in that June 17th race. She has been ultra-consistent, only missing the top four once from eight attempts and while she draws wide again, in this small field it should be a problem and she can go close. (5) ALPHA HEART and (6) QUEEN OF THE QUEEN others who can enter the calculations.

Seoul Race 7: Class 4 (1400M) Allowance / KRW 60 Million

(5) BYEOLUI SUNGAN ran a solid 5th in the KRA Cup Mile before finishing back in the pack in the Korean Derby. He ran an excellent 3rd at this distance in the Listed Sports Seoul Classic trial and has previously won at the distance too. He returns to shallower waters for the first time in a while and has solid claims to return to the winner’s circle. (6) MAGIC GRACE is another with an easier assignment today having last run in the Korean Oaks at Busan where she was 6th of ten. She has won at class and distance and can be a danger today. (7) COOL PRINCESS has run 3rd in both tries at this class, both at this distance and both in fast times. She comes up in the weights today but should be competitive. (10) TOP CLASS comes rapidly up in class after back-to-back wins but can measure up in this company while (1) TOUGH MAN is another in at least the placing frame.

Busan Race 6: Class 4 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(9) BURUI GEOM was a winner at this class over 1800M two starts back when overcoming the widest draw to get on to the pace. Disregard his latest effort when he was sent to Seoul to take his chance in the Minister’s Cup over 2000M and drew gate sixteen, this is a much more suitable assignment, and he can win. (7) TOP ADELE made all to win back-to-back races over a mile at class 5 level in February and May. His most recent start on June 17th was completely out of character and if you can overlook that then he is a big chance here. In a race that falls away somewhat in terms of form, (4) SINBIHAN GANGJA might be worth a chance at an each-way price. He has been there or thereabouts recently and while he does tend to get back a bit, he will be running on. (1) SUSO ENGINE and (5) QUEEN HARLEY others who can challenge for at least a place.

Seoul Race 8: Class Open (1800M) Ilgan Sports (KOR-Listed) Allowance / KRW 200 Million

(6) CHEONJI YEOGEOL is a mare with good staying credentials being a last start winner at 1800M in class 3 and previously ran 4th behind Raon First in the Donga Ilbo, also at this distance. She is race fit and will settle midfield and make up ground in the straight. (5) FOREVER DREAM is yet to be tested at the staying journey, but he is a winner of five from nine in total, including his latest three by a combined fifteen lengths. In recent starts, he has been running on and if he gets the trip, he has an excellent chance. (2) DONGJIN CHOEGANG is another up-and-comer with five wins from eleven. At herlatest she ran 6th over 1800M but it was at class 2 level and the margins were small. He should be right in this. (1) EODIGANA won the Gyeonggi Governor’s Cup over 2000M last December and ran 3rd in a valuable Trophy race at this distance in April. Draw a line through her latest at an ill-suited 1400M and she goes close. (8) JANGSAN BADA is another with good form coming into the race. He has placed at this distance and has placing chances here.

He tends to race midfield but is nicely drawn here which will enhance his chances and he will be a warm favourite. (3) DONGTEUJA BOY is the probable pacesetter. His recent work has been at 1200M where he has set good times, but he is one of only two in the race to have won at 1400M before and in a race of little serious form, that stands him in good stead. (7) GALAXY ORB placed at this distance back in class 5. He likes to race forward and in an easier race here, may get closer. (1) QUEEN MARVEL IJI merits a chance based on her last start 4th at class and distance behind Gold Prince when running midfield and solid in the straight. Very competitive class 1 affair to close the card. (8) IRON SOCKS is in great form with a win and a runner-up finish, both at class and distance, from his latest two, leading on both occasions. He has the steadier of considerably more weight today as well as a wider barrier but otherwise this race is no harder and he is a big chance again. (4) URI was a good 2nd at this distance at his latest start on May 21st, a big improvement on his first-up run. He should be peaking fitness wise here and can go close. (10) LIL’ PATRON beat Uri to get his first class 1 win in that May 21st race. He comes up a bit in the weights and draws wide, but he is still a chance in this company. (7) WINNER GOLD is never far away and has collected prize money of some description in all of his latest eleven starts. He is assisted by an apprentice claim and is right in this race. Hawthorne Racecourse has a 12-race card scheduled with the 0.50 Late Pick 4 starting in Race 9. The sequence has a $15,000 guaranteed pool, and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 9

2-Pattycake Mooss (6-1)-Camera shy at 2 and now has won 5 of 13 this year. One move type is in a spot to get sucked around and to roll by late at a square price.
5-Dilly Dilly Time (3-1)-Team Leonard entry should be in the mix but is slow off the gate. Could be over bet and needs an honest pace to close into.
8-Fox Valley Tinka (8-1)-Hoosier invader could be forwardly placed by Bates. Looks like a player at a price in a race without a standout.

Race 10

2-Fox Valley Cairo (8/5)-Six-time winner in 2022 could take his 1st picture of the year. Tuned up in a couple races with the trainer doing the steering and now Leonard takes the lines. Should handle this crew if minds manners.

Race 11

2-Commander Bob (7-1)-Could be the winner in a wide-open race but needs a decent steer. That's a question mark but if the journey is smooth the price should be right to take a swing.
4-Farewell Tour (8-1)-This long shot comes off a trip out win in Spr and does have a decent Haw record (24-3-4-4). Husted is back between the pipes and he should keep the 5-year-old in the hunt.
5-Luckonurside (4-1)-Comes off a big try to finish 2nd in a 153.4 mile in Stickney. This looks like the main player and has won 3 of 6 starts at Haw.
8-Kingofmyheart (9/2)- From the inside this would probably be the one to beat. Has speed but is a one-move type and will need to be in striking range turning for the wire.

Race 12

3-Zero Net Profit (7-1)-Needed the 1st start off the bench, now drops to a soft spot in the 2nd race at the meet. Wilfong, the usual pilot is at the controls, so best to not overlook.
7-Sunrise Sweetie (7/2)-Comes off an even effort after shipping in from HoP. But has won 5 of 17 at Haw and should fit with this bunch.
9-Johnnys Gal June (3-1)-Team Leonard entry should enjoy the company but has a habit of starting way back. Needs a brisk pace to shine and not sure if that will happen.

This son of the win-early, speed-siring stallion Kantharos has done everything asked of him in the morning while consistently outworking his stable mates, according to video workouts accessible at xbtv.com, and should be fit and ready for a major effort in his debut in this abbreviated maiden track sprint for juveniles. The Ralph Nicks-trained colt surfaces in a field without any apparent world beaters, so at 9/2 on the morning line he is worth an aggressive gamble in the win pool and in the various rolling exotics.

2-Anglophile (7/2)

Ran much better than the line will show when given a run sprinting on dirt in his debut last month at Churchill Downs and should be much more serious today while stretching out to a mile and switching to grass, conditions that should produce significant improvement. This athletic, good-moving son of English Channel was outrun early and dropped far back, took hold entering the stretch and though well-beaten closed with interest before galloping out strongly past the wire. The Brian Lynch-trained colt catches what appears to be a below standard field, so at or near his morning line of 7/2 there should be plenty of wagering value to be found.

I don't see the Reds sweeping the Rays. Cincinnati still has lost 40 of the past 54 times when meeting a foe with a winning record despite winning the first two games of this series.
The Rays have some injuries, but hold a strong pitching edge with Shane Baz going against rookie Nick Lodolo and a bad Reds bullpen that has a 5.51 ERA. Lodolo has a 4.19 ERA and 1.49 WHIP. This will be his fifth start.
Baz has a far higher ceiling. He has a 2.92 ERA and is in excellent form, surrendering just three runs in his last 22 1/3 innings spanning four starts.

3rd race [NY, Md 25000, 7F] – (6) Devil Or Angel (B) broke through the gate, ran off, but was still able to rally for second in his second start of the year when he made a big drop down in class. (2) Barone Marchis raced eight-wide last time and was claimed by the Noda Brothers who improve new horses to their barn. (8) Eminency tried the turf for the first time, ran decently, and now mores back to the main track and continues to drop down. (7) Fair to Middlin showed early speed last time and also makes that final drop in class.
4th race [Md 40000, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (2) Media Sensation got a third after dropping out of the maiden special weight ranks for the first time. (3) Left On Boylston drops back to this maiden claiming level where he was third two races ago and cuts back in distance. (7) Lefty’s War improved his speed figures in all three of his starts two of which came this year. (10) Myplayalinda will debut for Bruce Levine who has upped his game with first time starters and frequently at good odds.
5th race [Alw 92000 N1X, 1 1/16 mi] – (3) First to Act began her career in March and has two seconds and a first. She broke her maiden in start two and then was second in an allowance last time out. (4) Wasp was third behind the top choice following a short layoff for Todd Pletcher and Flavien Prat stays on board. (1) Frost Me stayed in fine form after moving to face open company since using up her NY-bred allowance conditions. She returns from a March layoff. (7) Baby Man was a debut winner for Rudy Rodriguez at Aqueduct in March with two tries against winners including a second at Laurel last month.
8th race [NY, Saginaw, 1 1/16 mi] – (5) Market Alert (B) broke through the gate, pressed the pace, and then faded down the stretch. He returns to NY-bred competition against stakes company where he was second last year. (6) Therisastormbrewin won his final state-bred allowance condition last time and was a third-place finisher in an open company stake at the Big A back in March. (4) Listentoyourheart won his second allowance condition against state-breds in his first start of the year for the Clement barn. He has a victory and other top three finishes in NY-bred stakes. (1) Brooklyn Strong was a winner of the 2020 Remsen (G2) who ran in the Kentucky Derby. Hopefully, the return to New York will help him find that past successful form.
