1st race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 7F] – (3) Bourbon Chase had the lead in his debut for Todd Pletcher and finished second as the odds-on favorite. (4) Drake’s Passage goes from turf to dirt for his second start and cuts back to sprinting. (2) Uncle Marty moved back to the main track and ran second beaten by only a head at Saratoga and then had to check when fourth against a good field. (7) Wanna Winna made his first start in an excellent field and was sixth at 7-1. Blinkers go on now.
2nd race [Clm 25000, 1 mi] – (1) Vallarand (C) was second after a three month layoff behind the winner who came back to win a $32,000 open claimer. He was bet down from 9-2 to be the 2-1 favorite for Rob Atras. (5) Trade Secret gets some class relief after three starts this year against better fields in tougher conditions. (7) Funwhileitlasted ran in the race with the top choice in his first start since moving from turf to dirt. He has a past open length win on the main track at Laurel Park. (3) Tactical Range was third behind Vallarand last time.

Sunday's Free NFL Pick: Miami Dolphins -3.5
I'll take my chances with the Dolphins as a 3.5-point home favorite against the Browns in Week 11. I just think this Miami offense as good as it’s been, is still not getting the respect it deserves. They got two of the most explosive wide receivers in the game in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. It’s not crazy to think these two could end up being No. 1 and No. 2 in the league in receiving. Right now Hill leads the league with 1,104 yards. The next best is Justin Jefferson at 867 yards. Waddle, who currently sits 5th and is just 55 yards behind Jefferson. I know the Browns offense looked great in their last game against the Bengals, but let’s not forget that was Cincinnati’s first game without Jamar Chase and at that time just weren’t committed to the run. That was also a division game, where there’s so much familiarity between the teams. In Cleveland’s 5 non-division games this year they are giving up 29.2 ppg and it’s not like it’s been against great offenses. Four of those 5 games were against bad offensive teams in the Panthers, Jets, Falcons and Patriots. The only decent offense they faced outside the division is the Chargers and they are way underperforming this year. On the flip side of this, I’m not so sure the Browns high-powered run game is going to be as big a factor as some might think. Yes the Dolphins gave up 252 rushing yards to Chicago last week, but almost all of that came from quarterback Justin Fields, who had 178 of those yards. I mentioned when I gave out the total in that game last week, how I thought this Miami defense could struggle containing Fields given how they let Lamar Jackson run all over them earlier in the season. Outside of those two games against Baltimore and Chicago who have elite running QBs, the Dolphins have given up just 92.9 rush yards/game in their other 7 contests. That mark would have them ranked 4th in the NFL in run defense. Give me the Dolphins -3.5!

The New York Giants are coming off their bye week and off a loss. I like the spot for them this week. Their two losses this season came to two of the best teams in the NFC in the Cowboys and Seahawks. And that loss to Seattle last time out was a tough spot as they just went to Jacksonville the previous week and won, traveled back to New York, and then had to fly clear out to the West coast to face a red hot Seahawks team. Now the Giants are rested and get to beat up on the worst team in the NFL in the Houston Texans. The Texans are 1-6-1 this season. They rank 29th in offense at 290.5 yards per game and 30th in defense at 398.1 yards per game. They are getting outgained by 108 yards per game. The matchup really favors the Giants. They rank 5th in the NFL in rushing at 161.5 yards per game. Houston ranks dead last (32nd) against the run allowing 180.6 rushing yards per game. They also rank 30th allowing 5.5 yards per attempt. The Giants will be able to move the football on the ground, and they should have more success throwing the football with WR Kenny Golloday expected to return this week. Golloday has been out since Week 4 and it has been a big loss because he is their best receiver. His return is what allowed the Giants to trade away Kedarius Toney to the Chiefs. The Texans continue to be hampered by injuries and disgruntled players in the locker room like WR Brandin Cooks. This line should be Giants -7 or higher. Give me the Giants.

ASA#255 ASA FREE PLAY ON Denver Broncos +2.5 over Tennessee Titans, Sunday at 1:00 PM ET - We like the situation here with Denver coming off a bye vs a Tennessee team that simply isn’t as good as their 5-3 record. The Titans have outgained only ONE team the entire season and that was Houston, one of the worst in the league. Last week it looks like they hung tight @ KC losing in OT but the Chiefs outgained Tennessee by a whopping 270 yards! They were extremely fortunate to even be in that game. Despite their 5-3 record, the Titans have a point differential of -9 which is 17th best in the NFL and a yards per play margin of -0.62 which is 27th in the league. It looks like QB Tannehill will be back for this game after missing the last 2 games, however he’s had very little practice time the last 2 weeks so we don’t expect him to be sharp. Denver topped Jacksonville in London 2 weeks ago and they are well rested here having last weekend off. They are pretty much the opposite of Tennessee as their numbers support a much better record than their current 3-5 mark. Denver basically has the same point differential as Tennessee (-11) but their YPP differential is 6th in the NFL at +0.63. They’ve lost 2 games in OT and another by a single point. The Denver defense ranks #1 in the NFL in YPP allowed at 4.5 (Tennessee ranks 21st) and they’ve allowed just 1.28 points per drive, the fewest in the NFL. After missing a game 2 weeks ago, Russell Wilson, is healthy and had a solid game in London throwing for 252 yards and a TD. We think Denver has a solid shot to win this game outright and we’ll take the points.

Pittsburgh has struggled to a 2-6 record but it is coming off its bye week after playing two straight games on the road so this is its first home game in a month and the Steelers have played well here. They are 1-2 with the win coming against Tampa Bay and the two losses coming against the Patriots and Jets by just three and four points respectively. Overall, Pittsburgh has played the toughest schedule in the league with half of their games coming against the top ten and five of eight coming against the top 16. Quarterback Kenny Pickett has been put into a tough situation with limited weapons around him and he has not been horrible with the exception of his eight interceptions but an extra week of preparation should do him good. The defense will get a boost with T.J. Watt coming back as his presence will be felt with the pass rush that has struggled since he went down early in the season. Here, we play against favorites averaging 4.5 or more rushing ypc, after being outrushed by 75 or more yards last game. This situation is 117-64 ATS (64.6 percent) since 1983. My friends I don’t care how good you are defensively, when your offense is averaging a dismal 15.1 points per game, you just can’t compensate. Yes, I’m talking about the Denver Broncos folks. I am fully aware that their “D“ ranks second in the league in scoring and first against the pass. But this is a stop unit that is severely overworked. Because the Broncos have no offense, they are turning the ball over, they are committing penalties, and they are experiencing ton of three-and-outs. Because of this, their defense is fatigued and overworked. Being number one against the pass is a moot point in this matchup. The Tennessee Titans are not a passing offense. Speaking about the passing game, at this point the starting quarterback for Tennessee is uncertain. This is going to make it even harder for the Broncos to prepare. Let’s face it, you can’t find two starting quarterbacks on the same team that play more differently than Ryan Tannehill and Malik Willis. The Titans are a rushing team. They pound the ball up the middle and around the ends behind the legs of Derrick Henry, wearing defenses down, and allowing them to open up the passing attack. This is the team that has gotten all of us sports bettors paid, covering their last six. And are just a few points away from winning six in a row straight up. You know, they have a pretty darn good defense as well. They rank in the top-10 in points allowed, yielding just 19.8 points per game. Guys, they have faced some pretty good offenses and haven’t given up a lot of points since mid-September. I really feel Denver is in for a long day here. They’re not going to be able to move the ball in the air or on the ground. As I mentioned earlier, they experience a lot of three-and-outs. And when you’re facing Derrick Henry, your defense is going to get tired to begin with. Trust me when I tell you, they are in trouble here. The Broncos do come off a bye week. But they have some roster turnover too. This is not the smartest team in the league guys. It’s going to take a little while for additions to get in sync. Here’s a couple of against the spread trends you to further my pick here; the Broncos are 2-5 ATS the last seven on the road, 4-12 ATS the last 16 versus the AFC, and 0-6 ATS the last six following and ATS win. Meanwhile the Titans are 5-2 ATS the last seven at home, 5-0 ATS the last five first versus the AFC, and 4-0 ATS the last four versus teams with a losing record. Under a field goal is a gift here. I realize that everyone is down on the Packers offense right now, and rightfully so following a 'rock-bottom' performance against a pitiful Lions defense in Detroit last Sunday. I'm actually even more concerned about their suddenly injury-plagued defense that just lost pass-rushing specialist Rashan Gary to a season-ending knee injury. That's not all as key corner Eric Stokes and LB De'Vondre Campbell are sidelined as well, opening the door for a boxscore post-bye stuffing performance from the Cowboys offense. The question is whether Green Bay can produce enough offensively to help this total along. I believe it can. After seemingly trying to fit round pegs into square holes all afternoon long against Detroit last week, I'm confident we'll see the Packers go back to RB Aaron Jones as their workhorse on Sunday afternoon. While Dallas has been stout in all areas defensively, I do think Jones can inflict some damage against a pressure-happy Cowboys front here. It's well past desperation time for the Packers and I do expect them to make somewhat of a stand in this national spotlight game on Sunday afternoon. Take the over.

This filly with Berrios in the irons makes her a contender. Will most likely be one of the early speedsters of the bunch going into the halfway point of the contest. SHARED FUTURE - Has longshot potential and could prove victorious at boxcar odds. Had one of the best Equibase Speed Figures of this field in her last race. My choice for this race is INVINCIBLE STREAK. His 52 average has this gelding with among the most respectable Speed Figures for this race. Could beat this field given the 62 speed figure earned in his last outing. He has a good opportunity in here as trainer, Capps, has solid win rate with horses going this distance. SM ROSIES LEGACY - Have to look at solely on class, with some of the strongest class figures of this field. Look for a solid effort with the class drop. ROYAL TUMBLE - Has been running well lately and will most likely be up on the front end early on. Seems to have a very strong class edge based on the recent company kept.

Hurtak brings him back again. I advocate you stay with this hot colt. You'll be generating money right and left by turning your gambling cash onto this rider/trainer combination. The last speed rating of 54 is the top last race speed rating in the field. This beautiful animal is in great demand coming off two claims in his last two starts. Don't overlook this colt in your gambling today. I like this colt. Has the uppermost earnings per race in this contest.

SMOOTH WATERS - Don't believe this racer will do much running in today's race. That last speed fig was most unsatisfactory when compared with today's Equibase class figure.

Been running with some tougher customers of late, has a distinct class edge. (Average Rating 78). Had one of the most compelling TrackMaster Speed Ratings of the group in his last outing. First Race1. Malibu Coast 2. Kid Azteca 3. Castleknock
Close call between MALIBU COAST and KID AZTECA in this turf mile for N1X 2yos. Lightly raced MALIBU COAST gets the noddropping from third in a G3 turf mile at Santa Anita. He raced evenly throughout, but the front-runners kept going while he maintained hisposition though the lane. The turf course at Del Mar, where he won his debut two back, is generally more conducive to his off-the-pacestyle. KID AZTECA maintained his solid recent form finishing second last out in a similar N1X. The top choice beat him in September,but 'AZTECA improved since. He has tactical speed and can finish. He is trained by Peter Miller, who also entered front-runnerCASTLEKNOCK. The latter finished second in a G3 two back, in front of MALIBU COAST, then third last out behind stablemate KIDAZTECA. Win or lose, CASTLEKNOCK looks like the one to catch.

Second Race 1. Italiano 2. Shady Empire 3. Joe Don Looney
ITALIANO should win this $16k claiming sprint despite the inside post, facing a field without much speed. ITALIANO can be forwardlyplaced; both starts at DMR in summer were fast: win and runner-up at higher class levels. The knock is a curious drop below the $25klevel at which he was claimed two back. Will side with the "best horse" and expect 7yo veteran ITALIANO to score his ninth victory.SHADY EMPIRE moves up slightly in class to open claiming after winning a N3L claiming sprint. His speed/pressing style gives him atactical edge; most in this field are late-runners. JOE DON LOONEY returns from a brief freshening adding blinkers and switching to topgate jockey Edwin Maldonado. 'LOONEY could show more speed first start back while adding blinkers. The 12-win veteran BLACKSTORM, stablemate of the top choice, will rally from the back.

Third Race1. Hawk of War 2. Ready Soul 3. Moody Jim
Another close call, this a $50k claiming turf route with HAWK OF WAR vs. comebacker READY SOUL. The solid recent campaign by'WAR includes four wins from his last six starts and third-by-a-neck last out against similar. If there is a knock on his last start, it is therunner-up returned to finish a disappointing fourth as the favorite for $40k claiming and the fifth-place finisher returned to finish adisappointing third as the favorite. Nonetheless, 'WAR gets the call shortening from nine furlongs to eight and a half. READY SOUL,graded stakes-placed twice in winter at Santa Anita, returns from a nine-month layoff and drops into a claiming race for the first time.Flavien Prat rode him four times previously: two wins, a second and a third. Close call between 'WAR and 'SOUL. MOODY JIM is a 4-for-14 pro reclaimed last out from a third-place finish by his previous trainer Jeff Mullins, who also entered COAST OF ROAN. The latterhas run races fast enough for this group.

Fourth Race1. Everlys Girl 2. Laurel Canyon 3. Shared Future
Other than a problematic pace rival in the outside post, EVERLYS GIRL is logical in this $40k claiming sprint for 3yo fillies. She ranwell on this track in summer, and drops from older state-bred allowance into an age-restricted claiming sprint. She has speed, but has runwell from slightly off the pace. She may need to employ that style here, because dropper LAUREL CANYON is quicker. First time in fora claim tag, blinkers on, third start back from a layoff, 'CANYON will take them as far as she can. If she weakens and drags the top choicedown with her, the race could unfold perfectly for late-runner SHARED FUTURE, who finished second on this track at this class levelduring summer. YOUTEYOURHONOR also will rally late.

Fifth Race1. Cuban Crisis 2. Real Fire 3. Socially Smart
A promising third-place comeback and favorable pace scenario in a field with lots of speed sets up CUBAN CRISIS for a maiden winsecond start back in a filly-mare turf sprint that is not that tough. 'CRISIS had been off nearly eight months when she rallied from midpackDate: November 13th, 2022 Track: Del Marto miss by a length; runner-up Phenom returned to crush by six lengths. The main challenge for 'CRISIS is shortening from six furlongs tofive, and working out a trip rallying from behind. REAL FIRE has been a moneyburner in her four-start career, and finished behind the topchoice last out. But she hit the board her first three starts, goes third off the layoff, and is reunited with Prat. She'll get a pressing trip in theclear, and being by Street Boss, turf should be her deal. One more chance? SOCIALLY SMART is speed, first start in more than a year;she'll have to cope with fellow speedsters DREAM A DREAM and TOPOLINA.

First-time starter GILMORE has shown speed in morning works (viewed on XBTV.com) and looks tough to catch.
