In general, leg 1 is the lower scoring leg as both teams take a more cautious approach to make sure they don't put themselves in a difficult spot heading into leg 2. There is also no pressure at the end of the match to push for goals and try to win the match. A draw or even a one-goal loss is fine heading into leg 2.

That being said, there are plenty of reason to like the Under based on form. Both sides have been playing well defensively. Dortmund has won all six matches they have played since the WC break. After allowing 3 goals to Augsburg in a 4-3 shootout win in their first match back, they have allowed no more than one goal in their five games since including keeping two clean sheets. In ten home matches in all competitions before the WC break, Dortmund kept seven clean sheets and they allowing just one total goal in their three UCL matches, winning 3-0 vs Copenhagen, 1-1 vs Sevilla and most impressively, drawing 0-0 against another EPL side, Manchester City.

Chelsea has been in a rut to say the least. In nine matches since the WC break, Chelsea have scored a total of six goals and have scored more than one goal just one time which came in their first game, a 2-0 win over lowly Bournemouth. They have been blanked four times during that span, twice against City. However, their defense has still been solid as they kept four clean sheets themselves and allowed more than one goal just twice. Going back to when the group stage ended before the WC break, Chelsea has played to the Under in 11 of their last 13 matches.

WARNING: This seems like a CLEAR SysTom play for Tennessee ML… and it is. The reason I am ignoring my own system here is that I truly feel this Tennessee team is broken. They have lost 3 of their last 4 (and got lucky on a no call in their win) and their “get right game” was supposed to be against Missouri last game and they LOST THAT as a gigantic favorite. I personally think we are beyond “get right” game here with Tennessee and I think we have ventured into “the second we get down we expect to lose” territory. I am backing the Tide here, but this bet is COMPLETELY out of character for me. I just got a feeling Tennessee is broken and no one realizes it.
