Take "Over"
There's nothing wrong with this Detroit offense, one ranked 4th in the AL in runs. That was expected. The problem in 2008 was a terrible pitching staff that doomed them, one ranked third worst in the AL as we wind down the season. The offense just scored 17 on Texas, and has averaged 8 runs over 6 games. However, during that stretch they also allowed 11 runs in back to back games, along with a 4-game skid. The pitching still stinks. Starter Zach Miner is thrown to the wolves here and he has a 7.64 ERA his last three starts. He has a poor 54-41 strikeout to walk ratio. Detroit is on an 8-4 run over the total and faces KC righty Gil Meche, who has an ERA over 4 his last three starts. Look for plenty of offense and little pitching again in this game. Play the Royals/Tigers over the total.

The NY Jets (1-1) have gone "Under" in both of their games while the Chargers (0-2) have flown "Over" in both of their efforts this season. They meet on Monday Night Football and somethings gotta give! We'll back the "Under" knowing that San Diego Head Coach Norv Turner has gone "Under" in 11 STRAIGHT games following a loss as road Dogs. but covered the spread in his previous game!

Analysis:
The New York Jets (1-1) travel to take on the winless San Diego Chargers (0-2) in a MNF game that will most certainly live up to the hype - an OFFENSIVE GAME.

Both quarterbacks should find ample time to throw the ball on Monday night, as they are protected by a couple of the best offensive lines in all of football.

San Diego has been firing on all cylinders since the second half of Week 1 against Carolina and will surely go for the jugular offensively to get in the win column.

New York comes off a disappointing loss to New England last week and back-to-back divisional games which will allow the Chargers to exploit the Jets defense due to lack of focus. J

Jets QB Brett Favre is a perfect 5-0 against the Chargers in his career and had a field day against them in Green Bay last year - throwing for three TDs and no INTs. Expect him to have a HUGE game as former San Diego head coach Marty Schottenheimer's son is the offensive coordinator for New York. With no Shawn Merriman - the Chargers will have to blitz to get to the quarterback and the future Hall of Famer will make them pay.

In the last two years following back-to-back divisional games - the Jets games have gone over by an average of 12.5 points.

The Chargers are a pissed off football team and have gone OVER the total in 10 of their last 12 games following an ATS loss and 6-1 ATS following a SU loss.

Light up the scoreboard - The OVER in MNF goes to a PERFECT 4-0 this year

triple-dime bet422 SDC / 421 NYJ Over 44.0 Sportsbetting.com
Analysis: The New York Jets didn't bring in future Hall of Famer Brett Favre to run a conservative offense, one that is averaging less than field goal more per game through the first two weeks compared to last year with Chad Pennington. In fact, the Jets opened up the offense in the third week of the season last year with Pennington under center in a 31-28 win over Miami after totaling just 27 points combined in the first two weeks. I expect a similar offensive performance here against a San Diego defense that has allowed 32.5 points in dropping games against Carolina and Denver. The Chargers can win a shootout because they have better weapons regardless of whether or not star RB LaDainian Tomlinson plays. They may not cover the spread though, which is why I think the OVER is the obvious choice for the best bet in this game. The total has also gone OVER in the last three regular-season meetings between these teams, so bet the OVER as my Triple Dime Monday Night Football Total Play O' the Month.

double-dime bet913 TAM -1.5 (+105) BetUS vs 914 BAL
Analysis: The Rays have won eight straight meetings with the Orioles, with seven of them decided by two runs or more. They will also be sending young David Price to the mound for his first career start after the 2008 #1 overall pick went 12-1 with a 2.30 ERA at three different levels in the minors. Price will be opposed by Baltimore's Brian Bass, who has given up eight runs and 11 hits in 8.2 innings over two starts this season. Tampa Bay enjoyed clinching the team's first-ever playoff spot on Saturday and will now be focused on winning the AL East during this closing road trip. Bet the Rays to start this series with a big win on the runline as my Double Dime AL Value Play O' the Week

Chargers -8 over Jets
San Diego has suffered two heart breaking losses this year. This is obviously a must win game for them. The Jets best player is Brett Favre and all of the hype will be on him tonight, but the football team is not that good. San Diego will run the ball with L.T behind a huge offensive line and Rivers will attack the Jets very young secondary. San Diego has a good defense and at home I expect them to handle the Jets with ease. You also know that after last weeks game the Chargers will get every favorable call from the refs. This should be a lopsided victory. Take the Chargers.

Over Easy Monday: 1* (regular play) OVER the total in Boston vs Cleveland

It is absolutely no surprise to us that this total dropped to a 9 after opening up at a 9.5 and this drop to a key number is offering substantial line value! Keep in mind that a 9 means we just need four runs from each team to guarantee no worse than a push. The reality here is that the Red Sox could get this game over the total all by themselves (more on that below) but we do expect the Indians to be able to scratch for at least four runs against Josh Beckett and Company tonight! The Red Sox right-hander has produced three straight solid starts but let’s not forget that he’s still just 5-4 on the season at Fenway Park with a 5.61 ERA. Teams are hitting .296 against Beckett in Boston and, although it will be chilly tonight in Boston that is still nothing that either one of these teams will struggle with. Cleveland isn’t exactly a “hot spot” on the weather map! The fact is that the Indians lineup is looking much better than it was for much of this summer as Victor Martinez and Travis Hafner have recently returned from injuries. The Indians have won 9 of their last 13 games and they’ve averaged over 7.5 runs per game in the nine victories! This team is playing some of it’s best ball of the season and their lineup is looking as strong as it has in a long time.

As for the Red Sox, they can clinch a playoff spot with a win tonight and so their lineup will be “stacked” against Zach Jackson of Cleveland and that’s bad news for the Indians southpaw. The 25 year old has simply been unable to enjoy success at the MLB level. His numbers this season are much like he’s produced throughout his career as he’s 2-5 with a 5.92 ERA and a .310 BAA in 17 career MLB games (14 starts). Jackson is unlikely to enjoy any success at all against a Red Sox team that crushes the ball at Fenway Park. Don’t be fooled by their lack of offensive production throughout much of their recent road trip. The BoSox are hitting just .268 at home but note that they are hitting .293 at home this season and they will absolutely “tee off” against Jackson tonight. More bad news for the Tribe here is that they have one of the worst bullpens in baseball so, once Jackson gets knocked out (early we expect), the Red Sox will continue to pound the ball as they look to clinch a playoff spot tonight. A total of 9 on this game, with the way the Indians have been hitting and with their subpar pitching on display, is an absolute bargain. Play OVER the total in Boston as a regular selection.

Brett Favre! Nearly 10 Points! Hell Yea! Too easy on Monday Night Football! Free Money! Wrong. Ah, how I love the public sheep that run to many lines without thinking twice. This is why the majority of the public loses money and casinos continue to get built. Look, the Chargers should be 1-1. There is no reason this team should have lost that game to Denver as they got ripped off on 2 calls in particular. Thus, they are back at home. They are 0-2. They face adversity once again and they will overcome it once again. If the Jets struggled against the Patriots at home, they are going to more than struggle against a furious chargers team that will rally behind one another and likely look to absolutely demolish this Jets team. Who have the Jets beat thus far? Ooo....they beat the Dolphins. Whoopdee-do. I can easily see the Chargers making a statement on nation television here that the Chargers are still here and still dominant. I simply cannot see this team going 0-3 and there is an incredible sense of urgency of now or never for this team. I expect this team to win, win big and keep scoring to their hearts desire to extinguish some fire of frustration.
